I come here regularly every two weeks or so. The reason I pay the premium for this place as opposed to cheaper places is a) because usually the threading hurts less and b) it's really quick. I rated it five stars earlier - but I am downgrading my rating because today I had a really terrible experience. Today is my birthday and I wanted to get my eyebrows threaded for the party. Bimala did my threading and she was actually awful. One of my eyebrows looks like it had a chunk of hair torn off. Moreover, she was extremely rude - she is clearly not skilled at threading, considering how much it hurt, and because it hurt, I kept moving my head slightly, involuntarily. She kept rudely telling me not to move my head. When I informed her it was because it hurt she didn't apologize she was like "well I can't reach so stop moving". Moreover when I saw my eyebrows and said I'm not happy with this, she just looked at me silently and refused to apologize or offer me anything to make it better. She insisted that she only did a cleanup and if she brushed out my eyebrows it would all be fine (when clearly there is no hair to brush out). Incredibly rude and unskilled person. I won't be coming back - you just lost a regular. read more

Impeccable work. Best threading I've ever had done, she followed my instructions perfectly and my eyebrows look amazing. Walked into the worst body odor I have ever smelt and somehow convinced myself to give this place a shot. The service was disappointing as my technician was inexperienced. I requested for her to clean up my eyebrows with the understanding I am growing them out. She did not seem to know how to achieve that. First time here, and overall a great experience. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon without appointment, and was able to check in and get my eyebrows threaded immediately (0 minute wait). I believe I ended up with Kopila (sp?). It's set at a great price-point (it's basically less than 50% the price you'd pay if you went to the Benefit Brow Bar down the street). I paid $12 for eyebrow threading (Yelp check-in offer). Eyebrows ended up clean and even. I can't attest to any other facial threading service that The Threading Place offers, but I would definitely recommend eyebrow threading to anyone. read more

I've been coming here for over 4 years now and it is consistent, reliable, and gets the job done! I typically just get eyebrows and upper lip and it is quick and easy. After 10, you get a free eyebrow - I love that they track your appointments in their system and text you when you have reached your free because I always lose those punchcards! The majority of the time I go there is no wait or barely a wait (1 person max) but I do occasionally show up to a wait. I do find that some of the staff have better technique than others and so some are pain-free while others are quite painful .. it's kind of luck of the draw who is working that day. read more

I have been here twice, not very happy about either. I saw "mention yelp get 50% off" promotion, and decided to try this place. When I mentioned it, they said it is for the next time I visit (!) great job on false advertisement. second time was right before an important event, and my eye lid got scratched... i did not notice it until I put my glasses on at home...the lady also failed to mention. First time here. I'm really picky about what goes on and what is done to my face. So, trying a new threading spa...I wasn't too sure. However, after reading reviews I decided to try it out. I'm glad I did! I purchased the Yelp deal and paid $12 instead of $15 (which would have been fine too because in Natick mall, where I usually go, it's $15 and they do a great job). Anyways, what a nice experience. Nobody was there and Copela was nice and quick. I don't know about other people but I always shed at least one tear with eye brow threading but this time around, I felt no pain. Needed a place to get a threading job done last minute before boarding a plane and The Threading Place seemed like a great choice since it is conveniently located on Newbury Street but then there was only one threader when I got there (a Wednesday afternoon around 6:20pm) so there was a bit of a wait. Previous customer who was getting threaded was experiencing pain as she kept asking the threader to "pull faster". At first I thought perhaps that customer was just particularly sensitive but later when my turn came, I also experienced pain I did not experience at other places (usually I get my threading done in NYC). It felt like the thread was scratching off the skin and continued to drag, felt rough, it also felt like a slow and painful process instead of being a sharp discomfort of a split second. My eyes started watering quite a bit due to the pain. Also my threader did not voluntarily offer me aloe vera gel to soothe the burning until I asked. Nice salon, well located on Newbury Street and easy to find and decent customer service but even for $10 (with the yelp discount), I am going to look for alternative places around. Similar to what other people have been experiencing: rough, aggressive, and pretty painful. Definitely was cut in multiple spots by the thread. Do not ignore the bad reviews! I was in desperate need to get my brows done and decided to go here due to the convenient location and 4 stars, ignoring other bad reviews. When I walked in (Tuesday at 6:30ish) there were only 2 employees and another client. A was approached by Ritu, who I then asked to NOT thin out my brows. She kept rushing me to the chair but I insisted on explaining to her that I wanted to keep my eyebrow shape (my brows are medium thickness with a bit of an arch) but just clean up the stray hair around. She told me she understood this, and went on to thin my brows horribly! She really thinned out and curved my inner eyebrow right above my tear duct, so it now looks like my brow starts too high up my face! She also somehow got rid of my natural arch and made my brows look curvy and asymmetrical to each other! I then had to GUIDE her to even both brows out! Mind you, I don't know about threading so the fact that I had to pay to tell her what to do is insulting. Do not go here.Growing out your eyebrows is so hard as it is, the last thing one needs is for someone to assure you they'll just get rid of stray hairs and pull out 1/3 of your brow. read more

I never bother providing feedback but I was so displeased with the service I felt it necessary to write a review. I went in for eyebrow threading and she did a TERRIBLE job. I asked for a simple clean up and my brows are now uneven!! One side is too short and the other is noticeably wider between the eyes on one side. I will NOT being going back. read more

I went in for eyebrows and upper lip threading. For the month of April, their services are 50% off which is a great deal! There was one other person in the chair when I arrived, but the wait was not long at all. My stylist was very nice and friendly. My left eyebrow is naturally thin on the outer edge. She did great at shaping them and making them look the same and great without thinning them too much. The inside of the salon is very warm and beautiful with a comforting feeling. Very enjoyable and relaxing environment! I will definitely be back! Even their regular prices are a good deal. They also have stamp cards where after 9 visits you get a free eyebrow threading. read more

I have learned that the trick to getting a good threading job at this place is to go on the weekends. The woman who works weekends is excellent with my thick brows. During weekday visits, the women working have done a far inferior job, i.e. making my eyebrows uneven, too thin, etc. read more

I won't go back. It was terrible! And I consider myself to not be very picky at all. I saw a difference between my eyebrows that I thought was very obvious that she kept saying wasn't there. It was so clear and it's a thing that all other threaders notice, that one side is naturally thicker than the other. Then I got home and I had two little cuts under one of my eyebrows. I'm really sensitive to waxing and I oftentimes rip skin with waxing, but I have never experienced any sort of mistake like that with threading!! I feel like that shouldn't happen. It is such a tedious job that I think they have control of whether they cut your skin or not, much more than waxing. I've been threading for 5ish years and this has never happened to me. NIce, clean spot on Newbury. I only came to the location to follow Copeela from other locations. She is quick, friendly, thorough, and honest about what can be done for your eyebrows. I have seen her recommend that people wait to thread and grow back their eyebrows and she has helped me regrow and reshape mine over the last few years. It is relatively painless and quick. I can always walk out and head straight back to work or out without worrying about any redness. Never had any problems and I would not go anywhere else. Definitely a great spot! read more

Even tho I live downtowb, I normally go to the Cambridgeside Galleria location, I decided to try this one. I was left in pain and had small red bumps near my eyebrow.
