I used to go here pre-pandemic without issue to get my brows cleaned up. Returned for the first time since and asked to keep my brows thick/the same shape, and left with thin brows. While they're even, they're really thinned out and I'm pretty disappointed as that's never been my experience here. Guess it's time to grow these guys back; I won't be returning because my brows look like 1997 :( read more

I really wanted to like this place: really close to work, cheap prices, right next to T. Have gotten facial waxing done many times before due to Rogaine usage and while I know that I have sensitive skin, I never have acne or pimples, ever. I left the salon with extreme redness, but then the next day I developed huge pimples and cysts all over my face that was itchy. it looks horrible, like a rash. I kept putting acne meds on it and it was getting worse. My sister said that I had picked up an infection! I didn't believe her, BUT as soon as I put an a triple antibiotic cream from over the counter it started getting better. It's really nasty looking, pussy and all, right after the facial! I can't find a way to add pics here but I would A month later of the antibiotic it's looking better but now I have acne scarring all over my chin. I had bought a couple of groupons but will ask for a refund because I'm not going back there! read more

After getting a mediocre eyebrow threading experience elsewhere, I decided to go to Heritage Threading. It is a little hard to find; there is no sign for it on the street. Just look for 'New England Comics' and then enter the door next to it which says 'Coolidge Arcade'. It was fast, no frills service. The chair had no headrest (or maybe it was really low). Also, the technique was a little more ouch than I'm used to. Remember not to hold your breath; if you breathe through your nostrils slowly and keep your mind there, it hurts much less. I asked for high defined arches.I was holding my breath for both the pinches and the result. When I saw my eyebrows, I was so so happy! I quickly forgot my sore neck and bleary eyes, and proceeded to admire myself in every reflective surface on my way home. read more

I have been going here for the last 3 years to get my eyebrows done and solely for the reason that I'm a student and they "used to" honor a student discount. The last few times I've gone, they've been randomly asking to see my student ID... super annoying considering I'm a longtime customer (like do you not remember clients who have been coming in every 2-3 weeks for 3 years? Shame on you!). But that's not all, today, I went again (prepared with my student ID, mind you) and they refused to honor the discount. They clearly had a sign up saying students would get $2 off and disregarded it. They claim that they're not making money and students are taking advantage (they actually said that!). When I asked to speak to the owner, they didn't know the number! Like ok, great customer service ! Then I asked for a receipt and they took forever, trying to change numbers and transactions on their register...when they printed the receipt it just says custom item( so shady!!). This is not about saving the $2, it's solely about customer service and running a business that doesn't constantly change their policies! Super disappointed and will not be returning! read more

They do a decent job with threading eyebrows and maintaining a natural look but I agree with other reviewers in that they are greedy and *They do not accept credit cards for anything $30 and under* I didn't have cash the day I received a $12 eyebrow threading service, so they charged my credit card $30 and gave me the receipt with an $15 credit (tip added into the first service). A few weeks later I returned and didn't have the previous receipt but the same exact employees were working and refused to contact the owner to "get permission" to use my previous credit. The ladies here know what they are doing. One will ask you what your preferences are (good if you know exactly what you want) and the other doesn't always do so. However, they are really good about looking at your face to shape your brows. They give student discounts, which is great, especially since the prices elsewhere usually run about $18, while here without the discount it's $12. They only take cash, which isn't too bad since there are so many ATMs around Coolidge Corner. read more

I've been going to Heritage Threading Salon to get my eyebrows done for about 7 years. For the past 6 years, I have been traveling across the city of Boston just to go to Heritage. Over the last several years, I have tried 3 or 4 threading salons closer by to where I live, but haven't had a satisfactory experience. At Heritage, I generally walk away very happy with how my eyebrows look: always naturally shaped, never too thin and always clean. In the last 7 years, i have only once (that i can remember) walked out of Heritage unhappy with how my eyebrows were done. One of the beauticians (I don't know her name) left the bottom of my left brow uneven and then upon making her mistake, was too scared to fix it. Preet does the best job with eyebrows, as far as I'm concerned. I always try to have her do my eyebrows if she is there. Additionally, when I got married 2.5 years ago - a quickly planned wedding - Nita went out of her way to do my henna for my wedding day. Scheduling the henna appointment with only 1 day notice, she came into the salon early on a Saturday morning to just to see me, and had just made a fresh batch of henna. She did an extraordinary job, the henna came out dark, and I got a lot of compliments. read more

Stopped in for a quick eyebrow clean up and I was not impressed in the least bit. I felt extremely rushed and like I was a huge inconvenience to the two women working... at least I think they both worked there as one woman was sitting in a stylists chair having her hair blown out by the other woman. Weird, but they both spoke to me like they worked there. Whatever. All in all, my eyebrows came out horrible! Way to thin and she didn't even take time to trim the longer hairs with scissors, which makes all the difference, IMO. They have obnoxious printed out word doc signs taped up everywhere saying to tip 20%, etc. and they only take credit and debit cards for amounts over $30 which is total BS. If you are that upset about the 6% processing fee companies charge, ask your plastic yielding customers to pay a few cents more to cover the cost. I live right down the street and will definitely never be back. 2 stars because I do still indeed have eyebrows. read more

A 3.5 for me. I came here because of the Groupon deal they have for brazilian waxes ($31). I've been coming back pretty regularly solely for a brazilian wax. Overall good experience - the price is right and they get the job done. I've been to really nice salons that charge $60 and the only difference is this place is much more casual. They do their brazilian waxes in the basement and you basically have to strip down everything from your waist onwards. They don't provide any towels to cover you down there which can be a little intimidating for first timers. Something to note is that instead of using hard wax (which is supposedly less painful), they use soft wax. Hard wax is my go-to, but I don't stress about it if they use soft wax. The lady who does brazilian waxes is very sweet and gets the job done fast. I have one complaint from one of the many positive experiences I've had here hence the 3.5 stars. After a painful wax in my vaginal area, I noticed one small area which was noticeably red and shiny. Looking more closely, I realized the lady had teared a blotch of skin away during the wax. This is the reason why I haven't been maintaining my business down there lately. I don't know what went wrong, maybe the wax was too hot or maybe I flinched too much, but afterwards I was in pain everytime I showered. Don't get me wrong, I would still recommend Heritage Threading Salon for their brazilian waxes but don't expect a perfect environment and perfect service. read more

Bought a groupon for year's worth of waxes. Checked them out on yelp and they had great reviews for threading. Apparently, they don't do much waxing!! Took me downstairs to this make-shift "spa" where I was asked to undress in front of the waxer. Every other place gives you privacy while you undress. Been getting waxes for years, and this lady does not know what she's doing. Her technique was rough. She would repeatedly strip wax from the same area over and over again. My skin is now raw and painful. When I told her I was in a lot of pain she blamed me. Left wax on my body so I was sticky when I left. The worst wax experience I've ever had. On the flip side, they do a fantastic job with eyebrow threading. read more

I first came to Heritage a few months ago to have my very first Brazilian. With nothing to compare it to, and the affordable price, I was fairly satisfied with the experience. After a few months of going there, I was finally fed up with all of the ingrown hairs and leftover patches that she was never able to get up. I then decided to try Total Skin Care on Comm Ave (see that glowing review!). She thought I had been shaving this whole time because my hair was so ripped off at the tops, not pulled up by the roots. Heritage had been doing such a poor job, and I had no idea. Now that I had such a positive experience elsewhere, I would never go back to Heritage again. read more

I've been here a couple of times. The older aunty inside is super nice and does a great job. BUT wow talk about disorganized. I called in advance to check if they are open, she says yes on the phone so I walk 25mts in a snowstorm. Then once I get there - after not being at the desk for 15minutes - she says I have to wait a half hour. Thank you for wasting 45 mts of my time. They do a good job though and it's hard to find Indian threading salons in Boston so yeah. But for all my Indian girls on Yelp (not desi, legit Indian chicks) - this is the kind of shit that makes you miss home! Like many others here, I came here for a Brazilian because I got a Groupon. Unlike some others though, I don't really understand what they mean when they say they wouldn't pay the full price. $50-$55 is pretty standard or on the low end price-wise for a Brazilian, and I don't know about other ladies, but I don't really expect a spa-experience when I get my lady-bits waxed... Anyway, it was INSANELY fast, which is my book is a great thing! She maybe missed a couple stray hairs here and there, but no more than other places I've been to. Also, the wax lasted the standard amount of time, my hair started to grow back slowly about a week or so later, so it definitely wasn't just ripped off at the surface/ The lady was friendly but not overly chatty, which was fine with me. The rooms downstairs were clean. I don't really know what else you could ask for! The location is also wicked convenient. I went back and bought two more Groupons for them! read more

Review is for brazilian wax. Went in with a living social coupon. I thought it was fine with a coupon, but I wouldn't pay full price for it (I believe the lady said normal prices are 55$? I could be wrong.) it was the FASTEST brazilian wax I have ever gotten in my life. I pretty much timed it because I was texting a friend the whole time, but I was literally lying on the bench for 3 minutes. I am not exaggerating. She used strips for all regions which was a first for me - normally most places I go to use strips for the bikini area, and then hard wax for the deeper areas. It was really quite painful and I had to ask her to press it down after she waxed me. But it was also over in 3 minutes. She put some sort of cooling gel on me after and that was that. It was fine for what I paid for, but I don't think I'd pay the full price for a 3 minute brazilian wax. read more

What a disaster. After losing most of my eyebrows due to a medical condition, I grew them out until they were full. This took a year, and I made it very clear that I wanted very slight shaping and for them to remain as big as possible. The threader said that I had full eyebrows and that this wouldn't be a problem. Ten minutes later, I was HORRIFIED when I looked in the mirror. My eyebrows were mostly gone. It looked like I took a cheap eyeliner pen and drew them onto my face. A year of growth, the threader noting how it would be easy to keep them full, and then this? I'm completely disheartened. I'm getting married in two months, and they definitely won't grow back in time. The eyebrow shape itself is great, but my eyebrows are so thin now. Getting ready for vacation and needed a wax. Came here based on my friends rave reviews about Neeta. I arrived a little early and was great immediately. Threading is upstairs and waxing suite is downstairs. Extremely clean (huge in my book) and comfortable. There is a curtain for changing privacy. Neeta is fast, friendly and really good at waxing. It was by far the quickest Brazilian I have had with white strips. Baby powder to start, Organic wax was amazing and left no rash. Lotion after to calm the skin. This might be my new spot for wax. Only thing minus one star was due to the music being a little loud when you first walk in. Small space makes It hard to hear the ladies. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for a Brazilian wax. It was very easy to book an appointment and the service was extremely quick. I mean REALLY REALLY quick. I was in and out in 15 min flat. Which makes it better in a way, because that's less time doing something that is always unpleasant, no matter who waxes you. The service was very though with the wax. No tweezers needed and all of the hair was gone. No bleeding. There are a lot of things that Heritage Threading Salon could do to make the service a little bit more enjoyable, such as switching to a hard wax and removing smaller patches of hair at a time. My biggest criticism is that I still had some sticky bits of wax stuck to me at the end of the service.This is an easy fix with some mineral oil at the end of the service. Also, there are a few small things that could be done to the waxing space to spruce it up and make it more calming. In the end, this place got the job done, and very quickly. For the price I probably won't be coming back for a wax but I should definitely try getting my brows threaded here. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone getting a Brazilian for the first time. read more

I've been seeing Neeta for my eyebrows for over 6 years. She is extremely skilled and incredibly consistent. Most Indian threading ladies resort to rounding out your eyebrows - but Neeta gets a straight/arched eyebrow done perfectly. Just tell her if you want it thinned out or a little thicker and she'll do that too. She's fast and therefore it's a far less painless process than threading can be. Location is convenient for walkers, people on the T as well as those driving in (parking in the back). I'm only dinging them for 1 star because I think they're a bit overpriced. I realize it's a competitive market but recently jacking up the eyebrow+upper lip from $15 to $20 was a bit unwelcome. read more

I've usually had positive experiences here for Brazilian waxes. However this time, on Valentine's Day, mid-wax (as she's clearly struggling) the waxer said she hasn't been back in 5 months and I was her first wax since. I wanted to leave but I was half waxed. I should've though. I saw BLOOD on the waxing strips and told her multiple times the wax was too hot. She took more than 20 minutes to wax me, waxing in all different directions and in a disorganized way. She then put a cream on me afterwards that left me in burning pain (probably an alcohol based formula) I was on the verge of tears. Then as I was leaving she reminded me to actually TIP her. Yeah no way. I'm all red with blood spots and burning pain. Beware of the inexperienced waxers here, especially on the weekends. read more

I've been going to Heritage Threading Salon since moving to Boston in September 2011. Both Neeta and Sabina have done my eyebrows, great results (I prefer Neeta). Very reasonable student price of $10 and located off the green line in Coolidge Corner. Neeta always does a fantastic job... she starts with a consult, sanitizes her hands, then starts threading. I'm quite particular about my eyebrows and have never left disappointed! Both Neeta and Sabina were trained in India and have a very high level of attention to detail. Honestly really mixed feelings (lately more negative feelings than positive). Sometimes I come here and my eyebrows end up looking great. Sometimes I've come here and I leave with the worst eyebrows that take me months to grow out properly. I've come probably a total of 8 or 9 times across 6 or so years but I feel like the quality of their threading decreases every time. Last time I went to get my eyebrows threaded, the woman lectured me on how I really needed a facial and that I should come back for a facial with her (but considering how unclean the place looks I would never ever consider getting a facial there). I don't need a lecture on how awful my skin looks when I'm just trying to get my eyebrows threaded? Really pretty rude and annoying to have them try to sell me more than I came for. Moreover this place is a little expensive in comparison to New York where I usually get my eyebrows done (where it's usually $7). There's also a minimum for credit so I always have to pay in cash. The student discount also only applies during the school year (starting a little into September) and Im only ever here before I leave to go back to school. I might be forced to come back since there aren't many other options in the area but will do so very reluctantly. read more

This review is for eyebrow threading only. I normally see only Neeta but since she is on vacation I saw a lovely woman named Devyani. She did a fantastic job! Just as good as Neeta. Absolutely painless too :) It's a Tuesday afternoon (12pm) and I was in and out in under 10 minutes as a walk-in. The price is great too $12 for the eyebrows. I've been to other places that do less quality of work for much more $. I recommend this place to anyone and especially to this who have had a negative threading experience. I can only attest to the work of Neeta and Devyani but they do great work :-) Edited to add - credit cards are accepted for services over $30 only. So bring cash. read more

Finally...I've been looking for a threading place around Brookline for ages. There aren't that many reasonably priced threading salons in Boston, period, so this place is a breath of fresh air. Maybe I've just been spoiled by NYC. $12 for eyebrow threading (although their price list says $14). The place is located in the Coolidge Corner Arcade so it may be a little hard to find if you were expecting to find the door right on Harvard St. I thank you fellow Yelpers for helping me out with that! My threader (not sure if it was Neeta) was quick but thorough. She asked if I just wanted to clean up the eyebrows (yes!) and if I wanted aloe rubbed on afterwards (yes!). A woman came in during my threading and wanted to know what threading was like, and the man up front invited her to come stare at me while I had mine threaded. A little awkward, but it was nice of them to let her watch! When I was paying, they asked if I was a student (yes!) and gave me a hefty discount. I appreciated the fact that she WANTED to give me a discount instead of just letting me leave paying full price (which they could've done). The man asked me to write a Yelp review so here it is :). The only con: they said their hours were 11-6pm on Sundays, but I had come in around 4:45pm and they told someone over the phone they were closing at 5pm. I barely made it! read more
