I'm really disappointed writing this review because I have been getting my nails done for so long, and this might actually be one of the worst nail salons I've been to. I received dip nails with extensions and they were just so weak. Three of my nails broke off literally in half by week 1. I asked for them to get fixed, which they did. Then, my other nail (not the one that was redone) chipped as well. It chipped at the base too which makes me think it was poorly done in the first place. Never had this happen, especially since SNS is usually much stronger and lasts longer. I give it one star because the staff was generally friendly, but will not be coming back as the quality is leaving you run for your money. read more

My pedicure experience was meh. The water was freezing cold, even after i asked for it to be warmer. The scrub was decent, but my heels were not baby smooth when I left. The massage was so-so; I found it strange and uncomfortable that lotion and oil were applied directly onto my wet legs instead of drying them off first. It definitely didn't moisturize them. Cutting w shaping were fine. Nail cleaning could've been better - I noticed there was still some dirt under my nails. The salon looks clean. They used a basin liner and wore gloves for the first half of the pedicure. It did not look like the tools had been cleaned in between customers, but I don't know for sure. read more

So the reviews here were mixed so I said let me see for myself here's the rundown: The space A beautiful shop very clean and relaxing atmosphere Staff The owner is beautiful and greeted me with a big smile at the door offered me water and tea during my pedicure. It was very clear that she remembered her clients based on her conversation with one she was attending to which was nice l. Also someone came in with a chipped gel manicure that she had gotten a few days before and the other owner no questions asked sat her down and began fixing it saying she just wanted her to be happy with the final product. Nails Angel did my nails I like them I have had better designs but agin she was very nice to me and took her time and I really enjoyed my pedicure. I have never had a bad experience here! Only once did my gels chip soon after getting them. Not everyone is talkative, but that's ok. I once brought my young son to get his nails done (just polish) and they were so kind to him. I think the pricing is fair. My son will forever be my sidekick now since they were so nice to him (and he enjoyed his experience). read more

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had at this salon. A year ago this place was amazing, I had the best experience ever with the deluxe pedicure and getting my fingers done. I couldn't stop recommending this place to my friends. But now it's just horrible and I should've gone somewhere else. This past Sunday I went with a friend to get my nails done for my birthday. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for both myself and my friend for mani/pedis. When we got there, it all went downhill. The water for the pedicure was super cold, the massage chair I had didn't work right and kept turning itself off. I waited soaking my feet for over 30 minutes until someone came and took care of me. When I got my fingers done, I asked for a gel manicure, the girl rushed through it so fast that I think she either skipped steps or didn't let my nails dry long enough. I don't know what she did, but I haven't had my nails for a full 2 days and 3 of the nails came right off and they are suppose to last 2 weeks. I went in to get dipping powder nails done. Price has now changed to $55 although previous yelp reviews say $45. I forgot the lady's name but she was very nice and took care of me. The color selection or dipping powder was very less. All dip manicures I have done till date would do three coats. She did only two coats and also scraped off the top while shaping it. 4/5 nails had paint cracks on them the very day I did the manicure. The powder was also applied unevenly and wasn't even properly shaped after it was done. Not going back :( read more

I decided to give this nail salon another try and unfortunately nothing has changed. I walked in at 6:30 pm for a refill and was sat immediately. The guy doing my nails did not speak english so he could not understand me every time I asked him to fix a nail or even clean my cuticles. The other nail techs and the owner were all in the back rushing and cleaning to leave, mind you its 6:30 pm and this place closes at 8pm. Or at least they claim that they do. To make matters worse when it came to add color, the owner came over to tell me she could not so a french tip with regular polish. Which is completely unheard of because before gel and dip was a thing everyone did a tip with regular polish. At this point, I was left with no color and paying $30 dollars for a refill that the guy could barely do properly without my direction. No price list on the walls; felt totally taken advantage of when told $60 for a French gel manicure! Outrageous.

Wow. $20 dollar minimum on cards. There are no signs stating this. The manicure is $17, so if you don't bring cash, looks like your manicure "happens" to be $20. I wouldn't have paid $7 for this. If that wasn't enough, the polish dried warped and bubbled, the edges were uneven, and there are specks of polish on my skin. If I had painted these myself, I would've taken it off and started over. I pointed it out and she "fixed" it by putting more polish on top, so now I just have thick caked nails. If you want to take a look, I posted photos before I'm taking it off. The grossest was the reused paraffin wax melting in the bath when I had my hands dipped. Pretty sure that's not sanitary or up to code. Lesson learned, not coming here again. read more

Allston Nails has an unassuming storefront and the inside isn't large or shiny or especially posh, but they did an amazing job. I've walked by this place a bunch of times and this was the first time I went in. I work with my hands a lot so I don't get my nails done often, which also means my nail beds and cuticles are a mess. I got a pedi w/o polish and a chrome gel mani, and the staff was efficient, friendly, and paid close attention to details. Especially considering the location, I found the prices to be very reasonable. The chrome polish was a lengthy application process, including 8 different layers of stuff being put on my nails, but it didn't take longer than 15min for the polish application and the only mistake made was a bit of topcoat left on the side of two nails, which they cleaned up quickly. Tbh probably the best manicure I've had in Boston; def way better than Mini Luxe, who doesn't do gel anyway. Highly recommend, I'll be back the next time I decide to pamper myself with a mani-pedi. They don't accept tips on cards, so make sure to bring cash if you don't want to use their ATM. read more

I guess it depends heavily on who you get! I went again this past weekend just for an eyebrow wax and a manicure. The wax was fine, and uneventful and the girl was very friendly. The older woman who did my nails however, was very rough, and kept trying to bend my arms in ways they wouldn't go. After my manicure she brought me over to the paraffin wax and although I explained I didn't want that and had to go, she physically pushed my hands into it. hot wax. I spoke up when paying and said I had been forced to do the paraffin, and they assured me it was included, but still.... nobody should have any body part forced into hot wax unwillingly... ever. She also didn't tell me when I was done, or free to pay, and I had to ask somebody else if I could wash the remains of unwanted wax off of my hands. Great salon for pedicures, manicures & eyebrow waxing. I stopped in on a Sunday after a long ski trip in VT and was thrilled to find a nice nail salon so close to my apartment on Commonwealth Avenue. The staff were very friendly and they were able to fit me in for a pedicure and eyebrow wax even though I did not have an appointment. They have a few choices for Pedicures: Express $25, Classic $33, Sports pedicure for men $33, deluxe $45, and signature $55. I picked the Classic and was not disappointed! I loved the hot stone element and the lavender mineral sea salt. Their chairs also massaged very well while I enjoyed the pedicure. The nail technician did a very nice job painting my toes pink, and I felt very comfortable throughout the entire visit. Everything was very clean, new, and professional. Allston Nails is a nice choice for a woman looking for a classy nail salon! The service for a Saturday morning was great and quick. My girlfriend and I were on our way to the beach when we realized that could use a touch up on our nails. So we called to secure an appointment, and when we arrived we were offered drinks and were serviced right away. They are a little pricey, but for the service and location, it was understandable. I got a polish change on my toes and an acrylic fill in on my nails. The shaping of my nails wasn't exactly to my liking, but I am pretty particular with how I like my coffin nails shaped, and so I can't fault them for that. I would definitely recommend! read more

Decided to give it a try one day when I was crunched for time and needed to go somewhere close. Boy, I was proved wrong. Yes, the regular manicure is $5 more than what you'd pay at any other salon around the city, but I really enjoyed the paraffin treatment, and my manicure lasted perfectly for a week! Great shape done by my technician too. I wouldn't go here all the time just because of the price point, but if you want a treat every now and then, I thought the regular manicure was great, and they were quick, too. Love this place. It's clean, it's pleasant, they have a great color selection. It's a little pricier than the other salons in the area, but the quality difference far outweighs the price difference. Everyone who works there is very pleasant and sweet. I didn't experience the upsell thing that some people mention - I was asked pretty clearly whether I wanted the express pedicure (just a regular old pedicure), or the standard, which comes with a salt scrub and a hot stone massage. Today I got a free eyebrow wax with my mani-pedi, and my eyebrows look fantastic. The woman who does the waxing knows her stuff, it didn't hurt at all, and she gave me exactly what I asked for. Remember to bring cash with you for the tip - they don't take tips on credit cards. There is also a menu on the front counter which tells you the prices for absolutely everything - so if you're nervous about what you're paying for and what you're getting, just ask. They will tell you clearly. There's nothing shady about it. Nail salons are famous for upselling - I didn't find this a problem with this place.
