I have lived in Boston for over 15 years and spent well over the first decade trying to find my Go-to nail spot. I am a picky customer, I know it, and had a hard time finding somewhere that gave me a great experience AND nails that last. I found this place several years ago and have never gone anywhere else! They are friendly, professional, and very clean! I won't lie, their prices are on the more expensive side, but I promise, they're worth it! My nails always come out looking fantastic and my gel manicures last 3-4 weeks! They have an amazing selection of bright colors, too, which for no reason is hard to find in Boston. Appointment was smooth and the nail artist was very accommodating walking me through my first gel mani. Super patient while still being efficient. She also asked my preference on shape and checked in on my comfort throughout the process. Color came out wonderful and has held up well going on a week and a half after lots of activity over the holiday week. Salon was busy and energetic. I rarely write reviews but I had to because I had the best foot massage of my life, thanks to Milan. I got a spa pedicure and a dazzle dry manicure. I've had so many pedicures in my life but I promise you that none of them beat this one! This is the second time I've gotten a dazzle dry manicure. I hope this one lasts as long as the first one, which lasted 3 weeks without damage. I also want to add that, though this isn't very important, the music played in the salon was relaxing and, instead of all-day news, there was a home makeover show on tv. I never leave bad reviews but feel that this time is necessary. I get my nails done often and am well aware of how nail salons like appointments. I showed up on a Wednesday afternoon hoping to be able squeeze in but was told there's no availability which is totally understandable. I then scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning at 10 am. I communicated clearly multiple times that this was for a mani/pedi during my conversation with the lady at the front desk. When I arrived this morning for my services the same lady at the front desk tried telling me I didn't book a pedicure... seems hard to believe there was a miscommunication from the previous day. She went on to blame me and tell me that I only asked for a manicure. Of course, they had no availability for a pedicure. I didn't find the need to argue with her so I just went on to get my gel manicure. The nail tech was very nice and had great effort! Overall, it was an average-ish gel manicure that cost $47 + tip. I would expect that cost at a nicer salon but it wasn't worth the experience at all. Everything in the salon was older and could use updating. After 7 long months, it was time for my feet to emerge from the 2020 winter and I had no idea where to go for a pedicure (I have my regular manicurist that I have gone to forever, but have spent the last 5 years in DC and Boston, so my last pedicure here was in 2015). Like all good citizens I looked on Yelp and spent at least three hours (no exaggeration) weighing the pros and cons of all places; Bellacquer kept coming up as "the place" to go! Making an appointment as SO EASY with online booking, I was able to get the day/time I wanted and Trinh (I think that is the correct spelling?) transformed my horrible winter-ravaged feet into fabulous feet ready for whatever this month brings. I had the basic pedicure ($42), but still lots of nice extras that would cost more elsewhere (like the fabulous callous buffer!). They have an enormous selection of colors to choose from, but I always bring my own (good for touching up any damage I get myself into). There is a huge wall of polishes at the front entry and then most of a wall full in the main area. What I somehow missed in all of the reviews were the 2018 & 2019 Best of Boston awards from Boston Magazine; I sometimes read through the winners and think "what? no way did xxx win" but this was obviously well-deserved. Easy parking on Beacon or one of the side streets, take the T to Summit Ave or Coolidge Corner or just walk on your sad-looking feet and you will prance on home with renewed feet! read more

I overheard another patron recently tell her nail tech the same thing (that the last time she went there, the gel removal process was so hard her nails weren't the same for several months). I love this place! I can be quite particular about my nails and how they are done, meaning that there are some approaches that I like and some that I don't feel comfortable with (I have seen some weird stuff happen). But I feel super comfortable coming here! What a great experience! They do a great job with a mani/pedi and I really like how they do callous removal with an electric buffer. At first, I wondered what it was (it looks like a hair dryer), and when I realized it was a buffer - OMG! It's so amazing - fast and effective. A great job! I got great massages and felt super relaxed at the end. And my nails look amazing! Terrible experience. First time here, and was shocked at how poor this entire manicure was, from start to finish. My nails were filed down to the bed, and the cuticles were cut so poorly they started to bleed. Very uncomfortable, nail tech didn't say anything. Her gel application totally ignored the tip of the nail, so now they look like genuinely bad press one. So frustrated. Incredibly expensive too, $47 without tip for a gel manicure and no gel removal. It was super easy to make an appointment online -- and when I called later when I realized I needed to add a service, they were so flexible and fit me in the schedule even with the additional service request! Once I got to the salon, they were so nice and efficient. I brought in an inspo pic and they were so sincere about matching it as closely as possible. My pedicure was super relaxing with a scrub and hot stones! I loved that for my gel x service, they did the full cuticle/hand care and not just the "dry cuticle care" that many places do with just the drill. I LOVE this salon. I have been trying different salons in the area and couldn't find the experience i was looking for (very picky with my nails and get them done regularly). Tried out this place once and have been a regular for over a years now. The place is very clean, a big variety of colors. They are doing an amazing job sanitizing every surface after the lockdown was removed. I love seeing Kim, Teresa and Trinh. Honestly everyone is doing a good job and is very friendly. This was the worst service I've ever received at a nail salon. The woman that did my nails was extremely rude and made the whole experience a stressful one. She kept scolding me for being "tense" and not positioning my hands properly while she was doing my nails, and if I didn't move them in the way she wanted, she'd aggressively try to move them for me. The photos on here looks great, which makes you think that this place is really nice and professional. I got a dazzle dry manicure for $29 and was satisfied with it but I wasn't overly pleased or overly happy with the results. It just felt like another manicure, even though the photos on here, makes it seem like this is a high-end place and it is totally not! Will I come here again? - probably not. Let me start off by saying I have always been the kind of girl who gets my nails done once, maybeeee twice a year, and only for a special occasion like a wedding or vacation. I've never thought paying to get my nails done was worth it, because it inevitably chips, gets ruined, or the service just isn't great, and then i'm mad at myself for spending the money. Bellacquer has changed all that. I came in April before going on a trip for a gel mani and pedi and was blown away. My mani and pedi was so incredible that I have gone regularly once every three weeks since then. It is the cleanest most beautiful nail salon I have ever seen. No tacky nail photo decorations on the walls, no sketchy tools, no nail techs blatantly gossiping about you in front of your face. Everything is white, clean, and sterile looking. Everyone who works there is extremely professional and friendly, not to mention incredibly talented. My nails have never ever looked so good. Yes - it's a little more expensive than I am used to paying for nails. But the experience and the results are so above and beyond that I truly think it's well worth it. I originally heard about Bellacquer in the Boston Business Women's Facebook group, but didn't decide to visit until I received an in-person recommendation from a new friend I met while at a networking event. She told me nothing but the best, and although I had been a loyal Aer Nailbar customer for over a year, I decided to check it out. I have since received three pedicures here, and the experience has been fantastic. The salon is beautifully decorated, the color selection is superb and wonderfully organized, and they really make the entire process seamless. Everything at Bellacquer is sanitary and top quality, so you never have to worry about dipping your toes in a sub-par pedicure tub or anything less than the best. They will offer you water, the nail dryers have both warm and cool air (your choice) and the massage chairs are heavenly. They will also use hot stones and a professional callus remover machine during your pedicure at no additional cost. You are able to book appointments online, add gratuity onto your credit card while paying, and they can even save the name of colors you love on your profile in their system. Very customer-minded and creative! Since my favorite nail technician at Aer Nailbar (Bella) has now relocated to Bellacquer, this is going to be my #1 go-to salon for my monthly pedicure from now on. These people are straight up thieves. They charged my card $200 dollars, unbeknownst to me, because I couldn't make it to an appointment. I even a called and cancelled the appointment, but to my surprise my card was fully charged. To make matters worse, I did not know they had my card's information in file. This is completely unacceptable and fully unprofessional. A $200 cancellation fee is simply outrageous. I will never be coming back here and I warn you to stay away! read more

Frankly, why the hell does this place have good reviews?! I really am beginning to believe that I cannot trust yelp reviews bc a couple places people give glowing reviews for, just aren't on that level, and Bellacquer is one of them. This is my second and last time going to this nail salon. Owners are a husband and wife and the wife is a complete biznatch. I mean, literally, completely, horrific. She's beyond rude: to customers and to her employees. I witnessed her being very rude to one of her employees and it really made me feel bad for the employee. The first time I went about 6 months before, I also witnessed her being rude. She has this nasty look on her face, and for the high prices they charge, they should be nice, but aren't. Their pedicure is not worth $40. The technician who did my nails didn't seem experienced and I could have given myself a better pedicure. Today was my first visit to Bellacquer and I will certainly be coming back! Bella did my nails today (regular pedicure and gel manicure) and did an amazing job. The water was the perfect temperature for the pedicure and the exfoliation and massage was much needed! The atmosphere was relaxing with home design TV playing (on mute and subtitles) with top 40 songs playing in the background. Very kind staff and great selection of polish colors. I'm not thrilled to drop them to a two-star business since I've been coming here for a while, but I just can't get behind the ridiculous cancellation fee. Unfortunately, my overnight shift at the hospital ran way longer than expected. I gave my myself a nice window, but it was just one of those nights... Mayyyybe I could get there 20 minutes late at the earliest, but that was too late for them and they had to cancel the appointment. Knowing how busy they are, I understood that - but they still charged me the 50% fee (which was more than $20 since I was getting a gel mani). The supposed point of this new policy was to discourage no shows, but even for no shows the fee is insane. Life happens, especially for this working gal, and this place doesn't get it. I don't want this to start becoming the norm at other nail salons, hair salons, restaurants, etc. I had never been late or no-showed before, and now after this, time to go back to my favorite nail salon in Back bay. Poor customer service. Customers are just seen as a number to rush through. I've been here many times and at this point it's fair to say, it's overrated. Today I took notice as to why. First, I booked a classic/basic pedi which is says will last 45 mins. I sat down right on time at 11 am and was in the drying chair by 11:30. The pedicure was rushed, the water was cold (even after giving this feedback, hot was added for a few seconds which helped for all of 2 minutes) The "massage" was nothing more than lotion be rubbed on my skin with zero technique or pressure added. I specifically asked for certain toe nails not be cut, which was confirmed by the tech , then cut anyway before I could remind her not to. I've had better experiences here, but never the wow factor that matches the overall rating they have which is why I've waited to rate them until today. My suggestion to those who read the reviews would be: don't waste your time or have any expectation you will be listened to as a customer. You are a number and this is just a business looking to make money not offer great service. read more

It's pricey but I'm ok with that due to the quality of work and how clean and sanitary they are. However, the lady at the desk who does the check in (maybe the owner? Idk) is consistently cold/short and borderline rude to me. This is the best nail salon in Brookline! It's been my go to for a few years and it keeps getting better and better. Super clean and amazing staff that really takes their time making sure you have the perfect experience. They are also great about doing whatever nail design or color combo you want and will help you pick out colors to match if you show them a picture!
