This place is amazing! The waiting area is small, but quaint. Everyone who works here was so nice. I loved everything about my pedicure. My pedicurist was nice, funny, and tolerated my giggling when she inadvertently tickled my foot. The leg massage was amazing! The best part is that it has been three weeks and the polish is still perfect! The performance polish is amazing! I am telling you, I have been in pools, hot tubs, playing tennis, and nothing is messing with this polish... except for nail growth. This place was great! I made a last-minute manicure appointment for my birthday and was lucky enough to find that they had time for me to get a pedicure as well. For polish they carry their own brand and Dazzle Dry which I highly recommend from last experience. Manicures never last on me (I use my nails as tools) but this polish dries in 5 minutes and last weeks. Quality nail polish, and for me worth the $10 upgrade to make it last. The woman who did my nails was great, super friendly and checked in with me throughout the process (water temp, nail shape, etc.). I really appreciated her asking me if I wanted my cuticles trimmed because I've had bad experiences where I've been cut and left bleeding. She did a light trim which looked great and didn't hurt me at all. The massage on my legs and arms was wonderful, definitely left feeling like I got my moneys worth. I wanted to love MiniLuxe and tried the Prudential, Newbury, Seaport and Lexington locations. My last appointment left my toe bleeding from rushed cuticle care and my pedicure smudged because I was moved out of the chair right after polish before my nails could dry. Pros - convenient to book, lots of locations, Lexington location was positive experience for a gel manicure. Massage at prudential was good. Cons - technicians are way too rushed at this location - I'm sure this would be better if it wasn't clearly overbooked. Performance polish chipped less than 5 days after multiple appointments at each location (and I was careful). Appointments started and ended late in Newbury. My nails are brittle and weak after doing biweekly performance polish appointments. On the hunt for a new go-to nail tech in Boston. I can't recommend any of the MiniLuxe locations unfortunately. read more

Horrible service, we booked 4 mani/pedis for a pre-bridal visit and they didn't have all the appointments when we showed up. The vibe is unwelcoming, loud, and the technicians are in a hurry and do a half fast job. We didn't get all the services we paid for, and the rude person at the front wouldn't give me a receipt (I paid $712 including tip). She said she emailed to all of us, and no one received a receipt. My manicure chipped within 24 hours and I now have to go somewhere else to get it redone. No one answers the phone there or texts. read more

I recently stopped by MiniLuxe at the Pru for a pedicure and lip & brow wax. I've been a regular at 2 other MiniLuxe locations but this was my 1st time at the Pru location. I wasn't expecting the store to have huge glass windows facing into the Pru in the part where nails are worked on. I was given a towel to cover my legs while getting a pedicure but I still felt a bit more on display than I do at other MiniLuxe locations. I loved my pedicure and the MiniLuxe "Pahk the cah" purple nail polish that was used. I would not recommend booking back to back appointments like I did. I had to wait 15 minutes after my lip & brow wax scheduled appointment time to actually be taken. I was sitting at the front of the store, but no one told the waxing associate. (And I suspect she took another customer at my time because she didn't know I was there.) This gave me time to use their free wifi to read yelp reviews of this location and get very scared by one of the waxing pictures. The eyebrow wax was great! Unfortunately, I also had bumps near my lip when I woke up the day after getting the service. It isn't as bad as the photo in a different review, but I won't be trying lip waxing here again. Just had the BEST mani/pedi ever at the MiniLuxe in the Pru! I was greeted by Liz - so friendly and helpful! I got a gel pedi from Cindy and a gel x mani from Phi. Both technicians were extremely thorough and personable. I was asked multiple times throughout the services to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the work, but they didn't ask me excessively, so I was still super relaxed. If I could I would give them -star I would. I had a pedicure a day ago notice my cuticles were not properly trimmed. I went back in just to get butchered. Literally the excuse from the technician gave that she couldn't fix the cuticles that they didn't trim properly was because she didn't have enough time allotted. Beautifully done signature mani! I had a walk in at the Prudential Center location and despite being pretty close to closing they were able to squeeze me in. My manicurist was very professional and so detail oriented. I love that this location always caps the nail tips and how meticulous they are with cleanup. MiniLuxe standard polish colors are in my experience better than their performance colors, and my mani lasted a full week without much visible signs of wear. The staff were very friendly as well. I've reconciled this ages ago and go in with the expectation of "let's see how bad they'll turn out today." HOLD THE PHONE! HELLO? OPERATOR? WHAT HAVE I STUMBLED UPON! My brows came out perfectly! So MiniLuxe in the Pru is a cool spot but I wasn't 100% impressed with my nail tech. We were there for a friend's bachelorette party and brought our own alcohol. Overall OK experience, but wasn't amazing. I loved that I was seen right on time, which I really appreciate. For those of you who have a very busy and tight schedule, appt time takes longer than they say. I went for the performance polish manicure, which was scheduled for 35 mins but I was there for 65 mins. Was fine with me when I went bc I wasn't in a rush. It's very brightly lit and clean inside the salon, so it's very pretty and inviting. They have a very small selection of colors, which is disappointing. They didn't have a light pink shade that I was looking for, which seemed like a very basic color. I asked the lady how long my polish should last for since I paid more for performance polish, and she told me 5 days. I had gotten this mani in preparation for my engagement photos, which I was gonna take 36 hours later. HOWEVER, part of the nail polish on my pinky nail chipped off in less than 12 hours!!!!! I literally got my nails done in the evening, went home, showered, slept and when I woke up, part of it chipped. I haven't gotten a manicure in a while but that's never happened within such a short time period before so I'm pretty sure that's not normal. Also, there are tiny microbubbles in every nail, which I've never had happen either. Sometimes I get a few here and there, but not this extensive. Lastly, when I checked out, the front desk person asked me if I wanted to leave a tip and how much. It's very awkward and unclassy to be asked that. I am updating my review after the customer service I experienced today. I booked my appointment online and it was confirmed for 10:00 however as I am walking into the Prudential Center 15 minutes early, MiniLuxe calls me to tell me that my appointment cannot be honored because they were entering someone into that time from the desk. If I was able to book online before the person "entering a appointment in from the desk", my appointment time should be upheld, I booked it first. Also, online listed 10:00, 10:15 and 10:30 as available times and suddenly the next available time is not until 11:30am? Instead of inconveniencing the customer MiniLuxe should have done something to accommodate me instead of cancelling my appointed 15 minutes before and providing me with an alternative time over an hour later. I also think their online slated times should not be shared with walk ins. VERY frustrating. read more

Today was my second appointment at mini luxe. Courtney has been my nail guru both times. I went the first time because I wanted gel and had never gotten them before. I was able to make my appointment online- which I love. The first thing you notice is how clean it is. The front desk is stellar - and informed me how they have a gel polish that free of something (can't remember) but as someone who was hesitant with gel, I was sold. My gel lasted through two weddings and my constant torture typing and cleaning all week. Courtney also waxed my brows and I was thrilled. Today I had my gel removed - there is no smell either - like other nail shops. It was quick and then I got a great manicure. No smudges - I always smudge. I also must mention, the colors are organized and labeled. Easy to find. You might pay more but I am tired of being rushed and my pedicures and manicures hurting. I went to the Miniluxe on Newbury last month and wasn't offered tea and got a sloppy paint job. Prudential is WAY better. (I will say that I overheard 2 ladies behind the counter complaining about tips in front of customers. As a 25%+ tipper, I don't need to hear loud complaining about tips. Pros: Online booking, can add tip to your credit card, everything is SUPER clean, everyone was very nice, I was taken on time and out on time. Cons: Not a lot of color choices. I booked the gel alternative manicure and my color selection was very minimal. Also, I think the front desk could do with a reminder of customer service. I wasn't told my total (even though I knew what it should have been based on online booking), was not offered a receipt, and did not have the door opened for me upon arrival (I'm handicapped at the moment and that would have been super helpful). As someone who hasn't had a manicure in probably a decade, and gets anxious about stuff like this in general, lemmetellya - it was great. It started with some too-long, broken, uneven fingernails and some nasty hangnails that were interfering with my typing speed and destroying my stockings. Things were unbearable, and I wasn't about to clip my nails at my desk. What to do? MiniLuxe is downstairs from my office so I popped over to their website to check it out. Listed on the menu was a 20-minute naked manicure - no polish, just a trim and buff. Exactly what I needed, and the price was reasonable. Online scheduling sealed the deal - they had an opening during my lunch break, so with just a few clicks, I was booked. The appointment itself was great too. I showed up, they checked me in, and my manicurist (is that the right term?) Tee came out right away to collect me - so everything ran on time, too. Tee did a great job wrangling my hangnails, snipping my cuticles back into shape, and helping me understand what I needed to do at each step in the process (I am hopeless at this stuff!). The window facing the hallway in the Pru allowed me to do some people watching while I tried to keep my manicure-inexperienced hands relaxed. My fingernails are now shiny and even, no longer cracking, hacked claws. Since scheduling is so easy and the location is so convenient, I might even head back for some maintenance and shaping when my nails grow out more, and I'll definitely be back if I ever find myself in an awkward situation where I need to paint them - heaven knows I'll just make a mess if I try it myself. read more

My sister and I had came to this specific MiniLuxe location a few weeks ago. I had been planning this day and to come there for months. I had just had a baby and barely have any time to have time to think let alone a girly day at the mall. Happy to say, my new nanny was a sweetheart and I finally was able to try and get back to my old nail loving gal I used to be. The two girls that had done our nails seemed to be in a rush. We explained in great length that we wanted both the LED pedicures & manicures. Along with Callus treatment & Extra Massage. We didn't get any of those treatments we had paid for. Very nice place if you want to get your nails done. Every time I have been there I have left happy. The other customers who I see in the shop always seem pretty happy too. They do a great job on nails and this is coming from a person who was trained as a manicurist years ago. There are a lot of different colors to pick from and they have all different color ranges from pastels, to bright colors, to sheers, to metallic finishes, anything you want. I usually stay in either the medium pink, the lavender or the dusty rose families when I am picking colors to paint my nails with and they have plenty of different shades in the colors that I like. They have some polishes that dry very quickly and I like that because I am a very busy person and saving time is very important. I have never had a pedicure there because usually when I am in there the weather is cold here in Boston, I can't wear my flip flops and I hate putting my sneakers on after a pedicure for at least a couple of hours and I do not have time to wait for them to dry in the salon. But I will say that they offer several different types of pedicures and I will definitely try one in the Spring when the weather starts to warm up here. I have had plenty of manicures here though and the manicures that they do are awesome. I would highly recommend trying this place out. I noticed that they have nail services for kids as well. For kids it is a very basic service and it is meant for kids who are 10 and under. Usually when I am there I don't see any kids because I am there during the week but on the weekends I have walked by and saw several kids with their mothers and the mothers were having their kids nails done. This place also does waxing services but I have never tried them because if I ever have any unwanted hair I always go have it lasered off because that is more permanent and it doesn't come back for a long time. But my aunt had some of their waxing services and says that they do a great job and they must because every time I see my aunt her eyebrows always look great. BE CAREFUL if you are planning to get a pedicure at this place. I went for a regular pedicure on Monday and by Tuesday, one of my toes was red, swollen and very irritated. I ended up going to a minute clinic after my friend, a nurse, said it was definitely a bad infection. When I went the clinic, the clinician I saw confirmed my friend's concerns- it was an infection, and after 6 days, I'm still using medication to get it to clear up. I ended up emailing the MiniLuxe contact email listed on their website after going to the doctor, letting them know what had happened. They never responded. Today, I called the MiniLuxe at the Prudential Center and spoke to two women. The first told me that it was nearly impossible that I would have gotten an infection since she felt the store was "very clean"- she didn't even say sorry! She did, however, imply that it was probably my fault that I got the infection in the first place. Then, she passed me over to another woman. While she was a little nicer, her first response was to let me know - again - that they were "very clean" so she didn't think the infection was from them. To repeat, I got an infection on my toe within 24 hours of receiving a pedicure, and the medical professional I saw said based on the timeline of the swelling and the site of the infection that it was from the nail salon. Keep in mind- I didn't even ask for my money back. I was just calling to let them know what happened, in case they wanted to take a look at how they were cleaning the tubs after each pedicure. I really expect more for MiniLuxe, and I'm very disappointed. The actual pedicure, plus the cost of a doctor's visit and some antibiotics, has made this the most expensive, least enjoyable "spa moment" I think I've ever had. read more

All MiniLuxe locations are superb when it comes to being clean and sanitary, but this location in particular is by far my favorite in the area. Everyone I have met at this location is warm and welcoming, as well as professional and courteous. You do not get the same level of kindness at the two Newbury Street MiniLuxe locations. By far, my favorite nail technician here is Tom. He's very friendly, always smiling and has great attention to detail. I have gotten two gel manicures by him, and they last far beyond 14 days. He's very nice to chat to and he makes getting your nails done a relaxing experience. I've gotten Signature Manicures, Performance Polish manicures and Signature Pedicures at this location as well with other nail technicians. Everyone is polite, but I do try to request Tom on the days he's working, simply because I've really enjoyed the appointments I have had with him. Yes, the prices are more expensive compared to general nail salons, but the service, quality and sterile environment are worth every penny. They also have a customer service team you can contact if you find your manicure is not up to standard. read more

Instead of leaving a 20% tip on my card like I requested, someone at the salon added "$89.70" as a tip for my services. How did this happen? Fortunately I check my bank account closely, and once I called the salon they were able cancel the first transaction and bill me for the correct amount. I have been a customer ever since I discovered miniluxe, and there are a few EXCELLENT technicians, Teresa, J, Anna, Annie, but let me tell you about the front desk staff. UNPROFESSIONAL FRONT DESK STAFF. The other day out of the blue, while I was waiting to be seen for a "gel removal" (which by the way has been free for many months now and advertised by miniluxe in an email to all customers!) the girl at the front desk made me wait longer than needed, and then came over with a fake smile, to say " just to let you know if we remove your gel today, it will not be free". So, 1- I am a regular customer. 2- gel removal has been free for many many months now (since miniluxe sent out emails proudly advertising free gel removals. 3- NO emails were sent to notify customers that gel removals were no longer free. So I was in no mood to argue after I expressed my discontent, cancelled my appointment for that day though and said I would come back another time. This is outrageous customer service, one of the WORST kind. you do NOT tell the customer about a alleged new policy by surprise a minute before their appointment. nobody likes surprises. you send out emails to customers when you change a policy, OR you tell them over the phone and do not waste their time when they come in to inform them. SUMMARY: great technicians, poor customer service! read more

Everything is clean. The Customer service was considerably friendlier and more accommodating than Newbury street location for booking. The service itself is fine, very overpriced but that is part of the miniluxe 'luxe' branding. I had a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure done. The pedicure is nothing special, in fact you sit on bench seats as opposed to big massage chairs you will have at a generic nail place. The service itself would be closer to 3.5 stars, I hesitate to provide four or five because it's overpriced and the environment is not particularly relaxing. The reason I provided 2 stars is that my pedicure, which I had done on Saturday, feel off entirely by Tuesday. In my experience a pedicure should last at least two weeks unless you're doing some increased amount of activity that may prevent that. The shellac manicure was falling off by Thursday. In my experience a shellac manicure should last longer than five days- especially for the price of $55 (before tip). The services cost $85 total before tip and the pedicure and shellac lasted less than one week. Save your money and swing by some generic nail salon on Newbury. read more

This is another nail salon that wants to be fancy and chic but is just another overpriced nail salon. We made appointments for this place well over a month in advance. This was the one group activity the bride wanted to do with everyone that came into town for her wedding. There were 6 of us total. Some of us were just getting polish changes, some were getting pedicures and some were getting pedicures and gel manis. We reserved spots and specific services well in advance yet when we arrived for our appointments we learned that they didn't actually have enough staff on hand for all of us. We had to take turns doing things the whole time. I was just getting a polish change. My nail tech was aggressive (read: painful) and sloppy. He did more than just change the polish but it wasn't until after he had filed my nails that I noticed he filed my big toes into rounded tops. Ewww. Who wants rounded toenails. I was distracted by the bride's story and wasn't fully paying attention but he didn't ask if I wanted a new shape or a specific shape. He just chose rounded for me. So gross. The polish color I chose was a very dark red. On my toes is just looks black but that's fine. I was mostly there for the bride, not because I cared about my nail color and my fingernails were matte black so it kind of worked. He finished painting my toes and placed me in front of the dryers. He told me to dry for 5 minutes or so. I sat with my feet in the dryer for over 20 minutes because the warm air felt good in the chilly salon and I had to wait on everyone else. I was the first to finish. They offered us tea at the beginning of treatment and the bathroom was cute and smelled nice but other than all of that this place wasn't special. If it wasn't located where it is, no one would pay the prices they charge. $21 plus tip for a polish change that wasn't even well done is a bit insane. Disclaimer: I've noticed that nail services are expensive everywhere outside of LA. Middle of nowhere small towns or larger cities like Austin, Chicago, NY, Boston... everywhere. Not sure why that is. Maybe there is just too much competition in LA so they can't charge too much? I guess I'm spoiled. read more

I've been visiting MiniLuxe Prudential since it opened, back before it was always busy. It's close to where I live. I come for the same services: Gel Pedicure with French Tip and various waxing services - usually Full Leg, sometimes Underarm and Bikini. The two times in the past few years I went to another cheaper nail salon I 1) was cut on my big toe and bled and 2) got a toe infected. Sometimes I've had some aggressive technicians but I think anywhere you go you should start out saying "I'm sensitive or I don't like my cuticles pushed back or don't use the little stick too much please." I lead with feedback and everyone I've had at this salon kindly incorporates it. I've had Gita and Cricket a couple times for pedicures (I am not so regular with pedicures) and they are both stand out technicians. I adore Linette for waxing (see previous review). I won't let anyone else touch me for waxing. Yes, this salon is expensive but I also believe part of a salon experience is the consumer's responsibility to give feedback before or during the service. MiniLuxe Prudential is clean, calming and every time I give feedback it's incorporated without any bad attitude. I have a weird little toe, I like a lot of pressure during the massage, I prefer lotion to oil, and sometimes a technician is aggressive so I have to ask them to use the little stick tool with less pressure. I'm not a particularly talkative person during my pedicures either so they could have taken my requests poorly but that was never the case. No one has ever been rude to me with my requests. It's worth the money here for the peace of mind of cleanliness and quality service. read more

LOVE getting my nails done here. They have such attention to detail and they really put a lot of care into each manicure.
