Very affordable pricing for gel nails and removal. Services are very efficient -- I'm usually in and out of the salon in under 45 minutes. My gel nails have lasted up to a month with minimal chipping. They are very busy here so it's not a spa like vibe but I'm always happy with the results. read more

I have been going to Purity for years now, and they are absolutely the best around. I've tried other nail salons in the area and I always come back to Purity. Their quality is unmatched. The salon is clean and staff are friendly. They are slightly pricier than other places around, but you are paying for better quality nails that won't chip or break. Their manicures last a long time. I could not recommend enough. read more

Sure, your nails will look nice. But they drill your natural nails so low that they become painful. My nails are so thin, like paper thin, that they're literally cracking in half mid nail bed. I can't get my nails done again until they heal and grow out. I will not be going back there. Regardless of the convenience of being near my apartment. Because my nails are so insanely damaged. There is literally no need to file and drill nails down to the nail bed to get any kind of service. They should prioritize health and longevity of their clients nails no matter what they're requesting. I'm not the only one with this issue. Friends who have gone and recommended have all left to other salons due to how thin and damaged their nails are For reference - I went 3 times for dip. Currently dealing with an exposed and bloody nail bed and painfully thin nails. The same over drilling is true for pedicures too. My nails are so thin and flimsy fingers and toes. read more

Edit: Purity reached out to me shortly after I posted this review to come back to get them fixed. The offered same day even, which I appreciated. They were able to fix my nails in less than 15 mins and didn't make me feel bad for not liking the original set. I am super pleased with my nails now and will definitely be coming back. Thank you again! I really wanted to like this place -- the first time I went last month, I was pleased with the results. I had a negative experience with a different salon, and came to purity to get my nails fixed. I believe the owner was the one to do my nails and did a great job. I came in today thinking I had booked again with the owner but mistakenly had booked with the wrong John. I was not worried because the service seemed to be fine and took a quick look at my nails before I paid and left and they seemed fine. In the few minutes after as I started to really look at them, I realized there was leftover gel on my hands which wouldn't have bothered me as much, but combined with the filing AFTER my nails were painted which left scratches down the sides of my nails and parts of my nails that were not fully painted, my nails look uneven. With tip, I paid over $100, which I am happy to do for quality work but this was not quality work. Very frustrating to take time out of my work day just to have nails that look almost identical to the ones I walked in with (chipped and lived in) read more

I was excited to try this salon after seeing it recommended on social media and reading positive reviews. As someone who recently moved to Boston, I was hoping to find a reliable new nail salon. I booked a Gel X full set with a design, but I was immediately disappointed by the lack of proper nail preparation. My technician did minimal filing on each finger and applied the extensions right away--there was no cuticle work at all. Having gotten my nails done many times before, I know that thorough nail prep typically takes up most of the appointment time. While the design turned out acceptable, I was disappointed with how the polka dots looked and found the base color much too pink for what I requested. The final result looked and felt like press-on nails. Most concerning was the durability--my nails lasted less than a week. Each nail has popped off completely. For instance, I was simply taking off my shoes when my thumbnail came off entirely. This is extremely frustrating, especially since Gel X nails should typically last 3+ weeks. The price ($100+) absolutely does not match the quality I received. Additionally, I was never informed of the design cost upfront, which every other nail technician I've worked with has always done. This left me with no choice but to pay the full amount despite being unsatisfied with the results. I would NOT recommend this place!! read more

Beautiful establishment. Very clean from what I experienced when I went in. They have so many colors to choose from! I'm giving 3 stars because I booked a regular gel mani and a gel pedi online... I know super basic but it was more basic than I expected lol, it felt rushed, I did not receive any soaking, heel buff (which is what I really came in for as this is my first time since before giving birth getting a pedicure and was so looking forward to nice smooth feet/heels!) or a 5 minute massage as stated on their site. It felt like I went in to just get my nails painted lol. I was thinking maybe it's because I had my baby with me (which wasn't a problem because he is super chill and quiet) but I feel like the lady getting serviced next to me was just as rushed. I will say, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I was serviced by Trang (Pedi) and Helen (Mani). Updated (2 stars): in less than a week my gel nails started chipping... shine/top coat also did not last read more

Very disappointing pedicure, the lack of attention to the detail of nail shaping and dry skin removal was disappointing. The staff was kind. Grateful I am not from the area and can return to my nail bar in CT. read more

I had a great first time experience at this salon. They work quickly and the front desk host makes sure you are comfortable and feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. She took my jacket and offered me a seat while I waited and checked in with me multiple times. The nail service was great and even when I walked out, they make payment so easy for you given your nails are fresh and you cant dig in your purse as aggressively lol and even got a cuticle oil. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I walk by this place often and have been meaning to find a new nail salon and let me tell you, this place is amazing! Such a cute gem right in the heart of Cleveland Circle, easy to access by train and by Boston College. You have to call to make an appointment and if you want any nail designs you email a picture in advance. I really loved my experience. I felt taken care of and it turned out so good! The attention to detail and precision is really amazing. I previously had gel nails so we had to remove them and do the design. It took l a little over an hour in total but was a really good experience. My friend also gets pedicures here and they have different "experience" options. Would recommend if you're looking for a neighborhood salon. It's pricing is up there with the other salons so keep that in mind, but it's worth it for a quality experience. I've been to salons where I leave dissatisfied and that is not how it goes down here. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend! read more

I am beyond impressed with Purity Nail Bar, and I can't say enough nice things ... seriously. Their customer service blew me away, and I will definitely be going back, as well as telling all of my friends about this nail salon. I had an accident as a baby, which led me to only have one hand that is manicure-worthy. The owners of Purity Nail Salon were extremely accommodating ... gave me a reasonable discount and were very professional. The employees there were also extremely professional and did not make me feel like a freakkkkk, which has happened at other nail salons. Alsooooo, they did an amazing job!!! The reason why I wrote the review because I would like you to pay more attention to your service. You can obviously see my nail job was unacceptable. As you mentioned, I got the offered from you to redo with the same person who did it for me. In my opinion that's not a good idea to let customers get the sevice from the person who gave them bad experience (As you reply me on yelp that you didn't understand) Even though I got the offered to redo it from you but it doesn't mean I can't review my experience on Yelp. I still have a right to review it even it's good or bad. And the way you answered me on yelp and text messages was rude. I didn't feel any sincerely apologize from you. It was full of sarcasm that's not professional at all. Don't forget that the most important thing to do the business is sincerity. read more

I had a not so great experience at another salon so I was on the search for a new nail salon. My coworker just started coming here as we work close by, and she suggested I try them out. I had Trinh for a mani pedi. She was professional and did great on my nails. I had to pay in the middle of the appointment before she completed my manicure which I found odd but I didn't mind. They offer more services for a pretty decent price compared to other salons. I will definitely be back here after my first visit ! read more

I have tried several nail salons in this area and this is the best by far! Loyal customer for over a year. Dip typically $50 and lasts almost three weeks. got a great mani pedi! my dip manicure has been holding up nicely so far (it's been one week since my visit).

I got dip with extensions here and was so obsessed, it was one of my favorite sets I've ever had. It would be 5 stars except for the fact that as time went on, 4 nails broke off within 2 weeks. I used to go to Dana's Nails in Brighton but my sister told me about this place and I am now a convert. The space is clean, cozy and adorable. (Also their bathroom has a bidet! I didnt dare use it because I am not an insane person, but cool enough that they have an attachment). I got a deluxe pedicure, gel manicure plus eyebrows. The pedicure was wonderful, the massage to my ankles/calves was so lovely (especially given that I am 40 weeks pregnant). They have a very organized system for booking appointments which I appreciate it. Because I booked my mani + pedi I got a $3 discount which was nice. The lady who did my eyebrows was careful and very detailed, loved how they came out. Street parking only but its not a problem given that for the most part there is plenty of street parking in the area. read more

I had gone to see Andrew twice for my nails and he was great. Two of my friends went here after I recommended it and were seen by other techs for manicures and pedicures and absolutely hated their nails afterward. I took this as a sign to keep going to only Andrew. I booked another appointment with specifically Andrew and arrived fifteen minutes early. After waiting the fifteen minutes for my appointment time, he was still obviously busy and would be for the next hour. Someone else said they would do my pedicure. When removing gel, they don't use gel polish remover they just drill down until the gel is gone; on one of my toenails she was spending a lot of time on it and I figured there was just a lot of gel until she lifted up my toe to show me the bent/lifted flake that was left and asked if it was a real toenail. I said Yes... and genuinely do not know how I didn't feel her sand the whole toenail away. The rest of my toes were fine and I was feeling a bit anxious but I decided to just continue with the appointment. She began trimming the cuticles which I normally skip because I have been snipped before (never once getting an infection before, in fact I have never had athletes foot or anything similar at all). She started on my right foot and right as I was asking her to stop she strained really hard and snipped my cuticle. Then she looked up and asked me why I don't want my cuticles cut and I just looked down at my toe which immediately started bleeding. To her credit she felt bad and rinsed off the snippers in my dirty foot water before putting them with the other supplies on the cart and rushed to get this yellow powder that she put on my foot which I am guessing is meant to stop the bleeding. Because she felt bad and at the time I still considered coming back for a regular appointment with andrew (maybe this was just an accident and a mix-up) when her boss asked me if everything was okay I just said yeah. I tipped and left. The issue was my toe was a lot more painful than I have experienced before when a cuticle has been accidentally snipped before. It hurt all the time and by day 3 the side of my toe was swollen and yellow and really red. My feet are not naturally red at all. I called to ask for a refund because now it had become something I would have to see a doctor about because neosporin did nothing over 2 additional days the deep yellow blister thing just got worse. I was still obviously friendly to start the call because I thought I might go back (stupid of me) at this point if the situation was somehow rectified. I was immediately spoken over with an extremely aggravated and condescending tone telling me that I could be reimbursed for doctor stuff (which was mostly covered by my insurance except for the $10 cream...) if I could get the doctor who looked at my toe to write a letter stating that this infection was directly caused by purity nail bar on the date of my appointment. This should be unsurprising but they obviously wouldn't do that. I will never go back. They don't honor appointments with specific techs even though you have to sign up for specific limited slots in advance for them. They are unclean. 3 other techs were given a chance by me and my friends and were exceptionally bad. There's no reason to come here. My nails frequently look nice so I'm actually regularly asked for nail recommendations and not only do I not recommend this place I always mention them as the worst nail experience I have ever had. read more

I would have tipped well. I am pregnant and due any minute but thanks so much for rushing me through my pedicure, and shipping me out the door. Do not let the bad reviews sway you, I have gone to many nail salons and I also do nails. I really wanted an amazing set, and THEY DELIVERED. John is an artist along with every nail tech there. What they craft is very difficult and they make it look easy. The salon is extremely clean, the staff had impeccable manners. It was the best experience I have had, and the nails John crafted were better than I could have imagined. They went over every detail and made sure I was completely satisfied, no rush, and They were extremely gentle with my very thin and sensitive nails, and did not cut me once.
