Sure, your nails will look nice. But they drill your natural nails so low that they become painful. My nails are so thin, like paper thin, that they're literally cracking in half mid nail bed. I can't get my nails done again until they heal and grow out. I will not be going back there. Regardless of the convenience of being near my apartment. Because my nails are so insanely damaged. There is literally no need to file and drill nails down to the nail bed to get any kind of service. They should prioritize health and longevity of their clients nails no matter what they're requesting. I'm not the only one with this issue. In the few minutes after as I started to really look at them, I realized there was leftover gel on my hands which wouldn't have bothered me as much, but combined with the filing AFTER my nails were painted which left scratches down the sides of my nails and parts of my nails that were not fully painted, my nails look uneven. I was excited to try this salon after seeing it recommended on social media and reading positive reviews. As someone who recently moved to Boston, I was hoping to find a reliable new nail salon. I booked a Gel X full set with a design, but I was immediately disappointed by the lack of proper nail preparation. My technician did minimal filing on each finger and applied the extensions right away--there was no cuticle work at all. Having gotten my nails done many times before, I know that thorough nail prep typically takes up most of the appointment time. While the design turned out acceptable, I was disappointed with how the polka dots looked and found the base color much too pink for what I requested. The final result looked and felt like press-on nails. Most concerning was the durability--my nails lasted less than a week. Each nail has popped off completely. For instance, I was simply taking off my shoes when my thumbnail came off entirely. This is extremely frustrating, especially since Gel X nails should typically last 3+ weeks. The price ($100+) absolutely does not match the quality I received. Additionally, I was never informed of the design cost upfront, which every other nail technician I've worked with has always done. Beautiful establishment. Very clean from what I experienced when I went in. They have so many colors to choose from! I'm giving 3 stars because I booked a regular gel mani and a gel pedi online... I know super basic but it was more basic than I expected lol, it felt rushed, I did not receive any soaking, heel buff (which is what I really came in for as this is my first time since before giving birth getting a pedicure and was so looking forward to nice smooth feet/heels!) or a 5 minute massage as stated on their site. Such a cute gem right in the heart of Cleveland Circle, easy to access by train and by Boston College. You have to call to make an appointment and if you want any nail designs you email a picture in advance. I really loved my experience. I felt taken care of and it turned out so good! The attention to detail and precision is really amazing. I previously had gel nails so we had to remove them and do the design. It took l a little over an hour in total but was a really good experience. My friend also gets pedicures here and they have different "experience" options. I had gone to see Andrew twice for my nails and he was great. Two of my friends went here after I recommended it and were seen by other techs for manicures and pedicures and absolutely hated their nails afterward. I took this as a sign to keep going to only Andrew. I booked another appointment with specifically Andrew and arrived fifteen minutes early. After waiting the fifteen minutes for my appointment time, he was still obviously busy and would be for the next hour. Someone else said they would do my pedicure. When removing gel, they don't use gel polish remover they just drill down until the gel is gone; on one of my toenails she was spending a lot of time on it and I figured there was just a lot of gel until she lifted up my toe to show me the bent/lifted flake that was left and asked if it was a real toenail. I said Yes... and genuinely do not know how I didn't feel her sand the whole toenail away. The rest of my toes were fine and I was feeling a bit anxious but I decided to just continue with the appointment. She began trimming the cuticles which I normally skip because I have been snipped before (never once getting an infection before, in fact I have never had athletes foot or anything similar at all). She started on my right foot and right as I was asking her to stop she strained really hard and snipped my cuticle. Then she looked up and asked me why I don't want my cuticles cut and I just looked down at my toe which immediately started bleeding. To her credit she felt bad and rinsed off the snippers in my dirty foot water before putting them with the other supplies on the cart and rushed to get this yellow powder that she put on my foot which I am guessing is meant to stop the bleeding. Because she felt bad and at the time I still considered coming back for a regular appointment with andrew (maybe this was just an accident and a mix-up) when her boss asked me if everything was okay I just said yeah. I tipped and left. The issue was my toe was a lot more painful than I have experienced before when a cuticle has been accidentally snipped before. It hurt all the time and by day 3 the side of my toe was swollen and yellow and really red. My feet are not naturally red at all. I called to ask for a refund because now it had become something I would have to see a doctor about because neosporin did nothing over 2 additional days the deep yellow blister thing just got worse. I was still obviously friendly to start the call because I thought I might go back (stupid of me) at this point if the situation was somehow rectified. I was immediately spoken over with an extremely aggravated and condescending tone telling me that I could be reimbursed for doctor stuff (which was mostly covered by my insurance except for the $10 cream...) if I could get the doctor who looked at my toe to write a letter stating that this infection was directly caused by purity nail bar on the date of my appointment. This should be unsurprising but they obviously wouldn't do that. I will never go back. They don't honor appointments with specific techs even though you have to sign up for specific limited slots in advance for them. They are unclean. 3 other techs were given a chance by me and my friends and were exceptionally bad. There's no reason to come here. My nails frequently look nice so I'm actually regularly asked for nail recommendations and not only do I not recommend this place I always mention them as the worst nail experience I have ever had. read more

I used to go to Dana's Nails in Brighton but my sister told me about this place and I am now a convert. The space is clean, cozy and adorable. (Also their bathroom has a bidet! I didnt dare use it because I am not an insane person, but cool enough that they have an attachment). I got a deluxe pedicure, gel manicure plus eyebrows. The pedicure was wonderful, the massage to my ankles/calves was so lovely (especially given that I am 40 weeks pregnant). What they craft is very difficult and they make it look easy. The salon is extremely clean, the staff had impeccable manners. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst pedicure experience I've ever had. I was only a few minutes late to my appointment and the owner gave me a terrible attitude. I should have walked out then and there. Helen did my toes and completely rushed through the service. No scrub, no foot massage, not even cutting or shaping my toes! Come to find out they did not even carry out the service I booked for. Instead they charged my card 50% of the service and expected me to pay additional money on top of that. Would you pay $50 before tip for these nails? Didn't think so... First time coming here. Before I even got to the appointment which I made days ago, I was told that they had a customer show up late and if I could come 15 mins later when I was already on my way. The owner did my nails. Took over an hour for dip which usually takes 40 mins and somehow managed to make it look like shit. When removing my cuticles she cut me in a few places and when I told her it hurt she blamed it on my 'sensitive cuticles'. When I called and told the owner I was unhappy, she said she was trying to be careful because I was picky (rude) and when I asked for a refund, she told me she could fix it instead and could not issue a refund as it took her so long to do my nails. This already took an hour and half why would I go back to have them screw my nails up even further. Also how does she expect to fix this? Be aware that she can't take criticism and likes to start fights with her customers when they call and express that they are unhappy. I have been getting dip for years now and I know the quality I can expect with dip and this was not up to par, especially being much more expensive than other places that do a much much better job. I deleted this review yesterday because I started getting messages from some Wendy N. Person( most likely Quinn's fake account) calling me a cheap bitch and that I was trying to get a free manicure. However, I decided to put it back up because it's important for any potential customers to be aware of what type of business these people run.
