Dreadful. I thought I'd treat myself and opted for top of the range service. I have never had a costlier, nor more awful manicure and pedicure. The front receptionist is needlessly abrasive then you go downstairs to a gloomy, cramped salon. The pedicure was shocking it was so brief, no careful attention to nails, no leg massage, nothing. The manicure claimed you would get a special treatment, that was gloves of the sort you can buy better at Marshalls, except these kept breaking and I felt no improvement to my hands. The tips tear off so the tips of your fingers get no benefit. The manicure too was slapdash. I came home and looked at my nails and the awful painting and took it all off and redid them myself. Only advantage is that I am a better manicurist than someone I paid $100 too. Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are so many good nail salons at half the price or less. read more

I have gone here for years but recently the quality has gone down significantly. First they began charging more for experienced technicians. I made the mistake of going for someone with less experience at the old price and it led to 2 in grown big toe nails. This is a painful experience that I'm still dealing with. They clipped the side edges so short. I went back a week and a half ago and the technician left spots of nail polish on the skin that surrounds the nail. The coat was inconsistent. They would t put my flip flops on after either. I'm considering going back and opting for the more expensive techs. I go to MiniLuxe because of cleanliness but recent encounters have caused me to question this. read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO! They charged me for a service they did not provide. First, they emailed to reschedule me due to a staffing issue. I emailed back that the new time they offered did not work for me. They never responded. So, I emailed again to ask that they cancel my appointment. They did not respond. I emailed again, twice, and left a voicemail. They still did not respond. Then, they billed my credit card, even though I never received the service. I again emailed and phoned them to ask that they reverse the charge. Finally, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Avoid this operation. read more

This was my go-to salon - wonderful techs and always relaxing. Recently treated myself to a mani pedi for my birthday, with performance polish (my usual, as it lasts at least 1.5 weeks). Started chipping two days after the service; I called a few days later and was scolded by the manager for not calling sooner (I had been on a business trip and calling my nail salon wasn't priority). I simply asked if anything could be done, and she scheduled me for a chip fix the following morning. She also acknowledged that several other clients had recently had this issue with dazzle dry, as a batch of polish had frozen in delivery. I show up, and get attitude from the tech that only one or two nails can be fixed, despite all being chipped. I simply decided to take my business elsewhere, and the manager said 'great!' on my way out. If this business expects customers to happily and quietly pay close to $200 for a service that lasts 2 days, they are in the wrong business. read more

Only because the tech was so pleasant is why it's not a 1 star. For a $38 basic manicure this place is trash. My nails aren't even, the paint job looks like my kid could have done it. It's messy looking on most of the nails. One is chipping 2 hours after the manicure. I wanted my nails to look nice for an event and now I feel like I need to go get them repainted elsewhere which is crazy! The massage isn't a massage, just lotion being lightly rubbed in. An absolute scam of a service. I've been stood up twice at the location at Chestnut Hill, and they refuse to refund me for the packages I paid both for eyebrows and bikinis although they accept that it's their fault. The second time I was stood up happened because they overbooked themselves the day before Xmas and when I showed up at 9:00am the woman in the location at Chestnut Hill simply said she didn't have me in the system. When I showed her the text confirming my appointment she only responded that she could do nothing to help .no apologies, no will to find any slot during the day, in spite of my proof of an appt. I asked for a refund back on my packages after explaining how rude the service had been and that this was actually the second time I was stood up and after waiting two weeks for the refund I was promised, I just received an email stating that they can't refund me and insist on me going to get a service I do not want to have with them anymore. Absolutely unprofessional. Would have expected much more from a chain like this. Management seems to be in the hands of people without any experience at all. They don't care about putting clients in very uncomfortable situations which is not my definition of a quality service. I have been coming here for YEARS and even though it is pricy it has been worth it because of the quality. The past 3 times I have gotten the exact same gel manicure, same color, same brand, I have gotten for years but they haven't even lasted a full week. This past time was the last time I will go there. I went in on Tuesday and by Thursday the tips were lifting...I understand that there is the 1 week "insurance policy" on them, but on thanksgiving I'm not going to the nail salon...I also was traveling. It is now Sunday and every single nail has lifted/peeled. For 50 dollars they should be listing more than 5 days.... An eyebrow wax done as a walk in appointment burned my sons eyebrows.the wax was too hot. The technician did not speak English. There was no manager on duty. I was panicked that he would scar, and he was in great pain. The only response I got was an offer to refund the $20 back to my credit card. No follow up. No return call from the regional manager. They did call to say that it was just a reaction to going out in the cold weather -- and basically said it was my sons fault. If I had more time and more money I would pursue legal action. I wish I could give two different ratings. Made an appointment for eyebrows and a performance manicure. Miniluxe was my favorite spot when I lived in Boston and I was excited to return. My eyebrows are perfect. TEN stars to that artist. No pain, no redness. My nails...I opted for the performance manicure. They say it is like a gel but no uv light needed and it will come off easily. It's been four days and it's already chipped. I haven't been typing or doing any of the things one would think could cause chipping. I'm glad my nails got some TLC and shaping I can never manage to do myself....but not worth the extra cost. Colors were limited but I found one I liked. I would give five stars to Rikki who has done my waxing for years. In fact, I only go to this miniluxe because of her. She is fabulous. But in general I only go for manicures and pedicures if I'm pressed for time and seeing Rikki.. This is a newer salon but it is in terrible condition. Pedicures are on a bench and there are only a few barriers so in still CoVid time, you are in close contact with other customers. But beyond that, the bench is in terrible condition, with tears and while it is probably clean, it looks tired and dirty. But a very big issue is that you have to go down a long steep, winding staircase to get to the nail salon. My first visit I was recovering from a fracture in my foot, using a cane, and there was no other way for me to get up and down the stairs. You can get a manicure upstairs but no pedicure. And what is more, the receptionists were completely unsympathetic and unapologetic. If you have mobility issues THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. The actual nail tech are fine as a rule. But if it were not for Rikki I would not be a customer. read more

But, unfortunately, that gets negated when you schedule days or even a week or two in advance and they cancel on you the morning of your appointment. And when you're leaving on vacation, it's Sunday, you live a half hour from this location, and have a crazy - but perfectly timed - day of things to do to make your way out of town, this makes it ten times worse. I appreciate the apologies but that doesn't help the bind this place put me in. I've had several decent pedicures at this location and one performance polish manicure that was peeling in two days. So, manicures - not recommended. The pedicures, while not worth the money, were repeated as the convenience factor was worth the price. That said, never again. read more

Outside of the wonderful technician that I see every time, nothing about this studio says professional. I have had two appointments re-scheduled with no warning. I only find out about the schedule change when I either show up to the studio and it's not open or I get a reminder the day before; the reminder would indicate a time that I did not choose nor was I alerted of this time change beforehand. Ambience, convenience of online booking, cleanliness--all great. The technicians are all very friendly. But the execution is severely lacking. My nails are somewhere between lopsided square and lopsided round. The technician also didn't remove all of the previous gel, so they're lumpy. Some have additional debris, which is even more obvious. Not work $50. I also hate the whole practice of wrapping nails and then wrapping the hands in plastic. It's so painful! read more

On a thirty minute notice, the staff accommodated me for a waxing service. The associate Kate was friendly and efficient. I was on my way out within seven minutes. Please note nail polishes were not for sale. They have a huge selection to choose from if you were to indulge in a manicure or pedicure. Came on a Monday for Yelp Get's Schooled and my Mani is still here on Friday! Not gel, but a mix of gel and another polish even. Staff are super nice and friendly and the whole place is immaculately clean. They are very open and proud of their cleaning process and can tell you all about it if you like. They don't even charge more because of it! Great space to have a pre-wedding party because they have a ton of space and a nice lounge area (holds 4 seated but really confortable couch and chair). read more

I have been coming to Miniluxe faithfully since 2009 and this location exceeded my expectations! True to the Miniluxe, it has a fresh, crisp, and clean vibe. Miniluxe prides themselves on cleanliness, which is why I seriously won't go anywhere else. This Miniluxe truly had a luxe vibe. It is super chic, even featuring tvs with runway models! I am not an all-out fashionista, but I do think the aesthetic here would appeal to its clients. I have had a gel manicure here and returned for a Lalicious pedicure. My technician Kay was so great for the mani that I requested her for the pedi on my return trip. She was very good about asking if the pressure was okay when filing and trimming the cuticles, as well as water temper at all stages of the pedi, and pressure when buffing in scrub and massaging. She has great attention to detail, this was probably one of the best manicures of my life. What is more impressive is that today, almost a week later my manicure still looks amazing (my friend just asked if I got my nails done today). I loved all of my services---mani, pedi and lash lift/tint. Mini Luxe offers a nice, relaxing, clean environment. The techs are very kind and provide fantastic attention to detail. I visited this location for the first time on Sunday 4/20 for a manicure (I live in NY and don't have Mini Luxe!) and went back 2 more times this week for other services. "MY" (Lash tech who also does nails and waxing) was very patient, sweet, and skilled at her craft. I have extremely sensitive eyes/skin. I always want to get lash treatments, but typically cannot because many studios use harsh products. MiniLuxe uses organic/clean products. She came to the US from Vietnam 14 years ago and if I heard correctly has been with MiniLuxe (various locations) for approximately 13 years. I forgot to mention that "Tom", an "expert" technician did my pedi--he is AMAZING. "Ava" was my manicurist and did a lovely job! I appreciate that I could put the gratuity on the credit card. I'm keeping track of other burn victims from MiniLuxe, and it appears to be a more common problem at this location. They have never taken responsibility in any way for their negligence. They continue to subject customers to incompetence, and the dangers that go along with infection and burns. WAKE UP MiniLuxe owners!! Came here for a spontaneous pedicure and it turned out nice! Very clean studio and the lady who did my nails was very polite and friendly. I liked that they offer tea/water when you arrive. I particularly appreciated that she gave a decent leg/foot massage -- makes the hefty price tag for the pedicure more justifiable. I think for the price you pay it should also include a hot stone massage. I am in love with my gel manicure from MiniLuxe! My cuticles were meticulously trimmed and the polish was carefully applied. They are looking beautiful after one week. I also get my brows tinted. The formula for the tint is vegetable based which prevents any irritability. I have dark brows to begin with so I use the tint to fill in any sparse areas (I get my eyebrows threaded at another location). Very professionally done! Went with a friend for mani/pedis. Really nice space, good color selection, friendly, professional staff. I would have given them 4 stars except I chose their own brand of polish instead of OPI or Essie for my manicure. I had three nails chip and peel within 24 hours and I hadn't even showered yet. Within 48 hours, eight nails were peeling. The polish came off in large pieces, see the photo. My manicures usually last 4-6 days no matter where I go but I usually choose OPI colors. I chose to upgrade my pedicure to Chanel polish and it looks great. I'm just disappointed after spending $64 (before tip). UPDATE: The general manager saw my review on Yelp! and apologized for my "less than stellar experience". She offered a complementary manicure to make up for mine chipping quickly. I didn't have the best experience here. The gel manicure is very messy looking, and the manicurist clipped too much skin on my right hand and I was bleeding a little bit. I had a delightful experience here, from the woman at the check-in counter to the friendly technician (Eloise) who pampered my toes. In fact, I had such a nice pedicure that I opted to stay for a mani as well - I had to switch techs but Tam was just as attentive and professional. I appreciate how gentle yet thorough all the technicians are - much different than getting your cuticles poked and prodded at a typical nail salon. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi - I had to come on two different days because they could not fit me at the same time. That was a little inconvenient but did not bother me. Pedi was fine nothing special. The gel mani was great! Even coat, nails and cuticles trimmed well. This would have been a 5 star review but unfortunately my fingers and toes have started to chip/ peel after one week, with a regular pedi I expected this but not a gel mani. Most times I get gel it lasts for 2-3 weeks. I'm disappointed. Still an overall good experience in the salon. read more
