I've been going here for a little over a year and I love this place. It's owned by a husband and wife and they are always so sweet. I typically get a dip which is done by the husband and he always does a good job. Sometimes it may take a little long but he pays close attention to detail so the extra time is worth it. Their prices are also very reasonable. $45 for dip and this time I got chrome so it's an extra $10. I've gone to other place that have charged me $60 without add in and they came out horrible. Ugh! I usually try to find something positive but good gravy what a disaster this was! When I arrived 10 min prior to my scheduled time there were 2 ppl working and 2 customers. One was a walk in that had just sat down for a pedicure. They couldn't find my appointment, ok things happen, no big deal. I showed her my confirmation email, told her I wasn't in a huge rush and could wait a little bit but if it was going to be longer than 30 min I'd like to reschedule. After assuring me it would only be 10/15 min I picked my colors and waited. 20 min after my scheduled start time she directed me to a pedicure chair. As soon as my feet were in the water the walk in client asked if they had time for a brow wax. My nail tech said yes! She stopped what she was doing and took the other woman back for a wax. Now 45 min after my start time with my feet pruned soaking in now cold water she comes over to start my pedicure. Most likely because I was putting my shoes on and getting ready to leave. It became the most rushed and aggressive pedi I've ever had. During this fiasco a group of 4 woman came in. They also had an appointment. Now we have a total of 6 customer and 2 nail techs in the building. Tech #2 starts a main for one of the women and the others were they were told the same thing I was. It will just be a few minutes. Almost 2 hours after my scheduled start time my pedi is finished and she directs me to sit down for my manicure. I told her I was running too far behind and would like to skip the mani. Just then a woman walks in for her schedule apt time and my nail tech takes her! Sits her down and starts her service because it's her appointment time! I went here with my husband for a pedicure. I haven't had them done in 2 months and having a big surgery on my back so wanted to get my feet done prior. The place was empty when we went in on Labor Day Monday. It was husband and wife working. I had the husband and sadly the worst pedicure ever. I've worked in the beauty industry and had many pedicures over the years. He did not attempt to cut my cuticle on the sides of my toes. I get ingrowns if I don't keep up and he didn't touch them. He didn't even buff off the old polish with the buffer. He didn't clean out sides of toes either. Normally, they will clean out the side and then with the nippers they cut off any skin or cuticle around the toenails. I don't think he knows how to do it so he just skipped it. This is basically what you're paying for when you go get a pedicure, not just going in there and getting a polish change. I Basically got a polished change for $30 so you get what you pay for. I have to go get it redone this week because my toes are painful if they don't do my cuticles. The woman that did my husband's was still doing his even after mine were completely polished! Normally woman's take longer as they get polish but no I was told to get up and go dry and husband was still getting his cuticles cleaned. We got the exact same pedicure but he got a decent one. She did a great job on his feet. I also had an ice pack with a small blanket for my back but when I went to the drying area he told me to put my ice pack on a separate chair therefore I had to leave after a few minutes. Shady and weird, this is not a luxury salon; it's a little hole in the wall. I have been coming in for a couple of years, and the prices for lashes keep going up, while the quality goes down. I was there in May and they made me pay for half of the appointment on Venmo, half credit card - seems shady! The cots where they have you lie down are awful, and worst of all, the girl came out of the bathroom to work on me, and I did not hear her wash her hands! Then she touched my face! You can hear the sink because it is outside - the toilet is just by itself in a closet. Gross. read more

Empty nail shop on a Saturday at 12:00 is an instant red flag, and that's what I walked in to. They ladies were polite and friendly and attentive, so I walked right in. Quality of work is mid at best, nothing sensational but it will do if you're in a time crunch. They're losing stars because I told them upon arrival I wanted a pedicure, eyebrow and lip wax. Once my toes were finished I didn't mind waiting for a few minutes until they dried. But they're losing a star because someone walked in, after my toes had already been drying for 15 minutes, asked for an eyebrow wax and lip wax, and the lady proceeded to take them to the back and told me a few more minutes. Annoyed. Then someone came back after they'd already been back there 10 minutes and said a few more minutes. Once the 30 minute mark hit and they were asking me to wait longer I left. Because clearly they do not care about my time, or desire to have me as a repeat client. Avoid avoid avoid read more

Wish they had the option of ZERO stars. About 5 weeks ago I went to this place to do a natural set of lashes for $85 and I'm not even going to mention the fact that they advertise in Groupon and dont event accept it when you bring it in... The lady did such an AWFUL job!!!! the glue kept on getting into my eyes and she kept apologizing! The whole process took about 2hrs and I left with red swollen eyes. When I got home I realize how BAD this set was, next day I called them back and told her how unsatisfied I was and she told me to come to "fix it". I went back and the way that she attempted to fix them was pulling out the lashes causing me extreme pain. I stood up and said never mind!!!. Couple of weeks later I called back and inquired about available appt with a the lady that had gone on maternity leave hoping she would be back. I was told that she wasn't back but they had a young girl that had gone to school for this and was only there on Monday and weekends. I right away jump on this and cancelled my dentist appt to be able to make it there on Monday night. She specifically told me on the phone be sure to be here before 6pm. When I got there they asked me to take a seat, and I waited for about 10 mins, then, the person that is usually in charge on the nail salon said" You come back Saturday", and I said, " I'm sorry, I called earlier today and was told to come tonight before 6pm" to what she replied sorry she wants to go home. I was furious!!!! and explained how I had to cancel prior commitments to make it to Watertown. She ignored what I was saying and continued to say " Come Saturday, and started laughing and speaking in Chinese or Vietnamese to the other employees. SO RUDEEEEEEEEE I got up and left. This place is DISGUSTING!!! and definitely needs new management!!!!! WILL never go back and will make sure that everyone that I have referred to this place don't go back as well!!!! SMH!!! read more

Got my lashes done today and will definitely be back! They look AMAZING! I'm obsessed! You can't beat the price for the quality work you get. Kylie was very sweet and pleasant to work with. She knew exactly what I wanted and gave me just that. She was also booked up back to back and was still punctual in getting me in on time and spending the time necessary to give me exactly what I wanted before her next client got there. There is something funky going on here. Diamond nails seems like a slight step above your average low-cost nail salon. At $22 for a pedicure, we're talking uber reasonable. The women are quick but thorough, and things look clean. So....why have my nails(remember, we're talking pedi here) chipped inside of a week?! Twice? Yes, I gave them a second chance, since I didn't go with OPI polish the first time and therefore took some of the blame for aforementioned chippage. Based only on eyelash extensions, I have been very happy so far. I got the Groupon for the original full set, and loved them so much I immediately signed up for the $30 membership to get the discount on future refills. Kimmy does my lashes but her sister Tammy I heard is great too. They look very natural and make a huge difference. So many great things to say about this place! I found it on Groupon about two years ago and became a member immediately for the gel mani/pedi. A year later I got a Groupon for the eyelash extensions and renewed my membership but for all 4 categories. The gel mani and pedis last a while especially the pedi and look amazing. Wasn't my best manicure, wasn't my worst manicure. I had an appointment at 2:30 but wasn't seen until around 3:00. The woman who did my nails did a good job but it took longer than i expected. If you're not in a rush, this would be the place for you. I went on a Sunday and from start to finish it took almost an hour and a half. They weren't very busy either. Again, not my best, not my worst. We will see how long their gel manicures last. When i was paying the person checking me out was too concerned with his cell phone and headphones in, instead of asking about my experience and how my appointment went. A gel manicure was 28.00, again not the most expensive but i've had better appointments for less. I don't think i'll be returning. read more

This place is DISGUSTING. I have my usual nail salon that I go to and LOVE in Waltham, but my friend comes here to see Tammy (who is very nice) and I came along one day to get a mani/pedi. Needless to say, less than 24 hours later I ended up with a pretty severe infection on my right big toe. Now, I am a nurse so I am definitely not exaggerating ... had a doc at work check it out and I am now on antiobiotics for 10 days and had to have my bloodwork checked and everything. She (I don't know her name) was cutting my cuticle on my toe and pinched the hell out of me ... told me I had a hangnail. Seeing as how I wasn't in pain and I had just gotten a pedi 2 weeks prior, fairly sure I didn't have one. Needless to say, she then cut me, and obviously with my feet in the water after it got infected. Wonderful. I am calling today to see if I can at the very least get my money back; I have already reported them to the board of health. Stay away. CLEARLY they do not even sterilize their instruments. read more

I've only been here for the waxing and I've never been disappointed. They try their best to fit you in, even on a busy day and are always courteous. During a bikini/Brazilian the waxers make you feel extremely comfortable and make it as painless as possible, finishing their job quickly. Ive tried different salons in the watertown/Belmont area and this is the best and cheapest ($35 for a Brazilian!) So I normally try and give pretty good reviews for places, especially because usually one person does not speak for the rest of the business. However, my visit to diamond nails was exceptionally concerning. I visited diamond nails with a groupon deal, after I mistook it for a salon I typically visit. The first thing that concerned me was that all of the pedicure tools were brought over to my chair in a tupperware container. It usually gives me a little solace when the tools are brought over in the sterile packages, but I figured it was probably fine and didn't speak up. However, while the woman doing my nails was buffing my nail, she ripped open some skin next to my toe and it ended up bleeding quite a bit. To respond, she ended up soaking some cotton in the bactacide that they clean the tools in, and digging it into my nail bed several times over. I'm sure you all can imagine how that felt. Long story short, I was in some pretty significant pain for the rest of the visit, and the next several days later. I did my own foot soak for the next two nights with hydrogen peroxide and hot water, but eventually needed to go get it checked by a doctor, who ended up numbing my entire toe and removing the infection surgically. I'll give the second star as a benefit of the doubt for the other employees of this salon, but I will not be visiting this salon again. read more

I'm a regular- I live and work in the area and have been coming here since Summer 2014, every 3 weeks or so. The salon is clean and equipment well-sanitized. I usually get a gel mani every 3 weeks and a regular pedi every 6 weeks. My polish almost never chips-could go longer if my nails didn't grow out. Great selection of colors. Sometimes I get some nail art for the holidays. I've also tried eyelash extensions. They do a great job. Fun for a party or wedding but not something I have the time or money to keep up with. They do have some great membership deals for mani-pedi, eyelashes, and waxing. I make appointments instead of just dropping in because it's my preference but they take many walk-ins. They have many regular clients but also many new and one-time in-the-area drop ins. Great hours- I often go after work or on weekends. They take credit cards or cash for services-cash tips. One of the better "chop shops" around, but I still wonder how well the girls who work here get paid and treated. I always tip well and hope that they get to keep all the gratuity money for themselves. Tammy, who appears to be the owner (or at least manager), is very nice and accommodating. But sometimes there's a creepy man working there who seems to be the big boss. I've never seen him doing manicures or pedicures, he just seems to be keeping an eye on the whole operation, changing the TV to a station the he seems to prefer, maybe answering the phone. I've seen him thinning out the bottles of nail polish with polish remover, so perhaps that's why some people are reporting their nails chipping? It seems clean enough, but I've seen enough of those scary stories about dirty whirlpool lines in the soaking tubs to wonder if I'm going to get infected by some horrible bacteria. But I do still go here when I haven't allocated enough time to visit the ever-sterile Mini Luxe in Newton or Lexington. read more

Tammy was very nice and paid attention to all of my questions and took her time with me, seeing that it was my first gel manicure and I had ALOT of questions. ;)~ I have been looking for where to go for this service and found this spot close to home. I will go back. Also, she had quite a large selection of colors for both the OPI gel mani's and the Shellac colors. I've been pretty satisfied with this place. Just moved to Watertown in Aug and one Sept Sunday morning i drove down to Watertown Sq heading to another salon that got good reviews on Yelp. well, it wasn't open yet at (even though it was past its 10 am opening time). I was desperate to find a place and it was open so i decided to venture in here. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly everyone was. They sat me down for my pedi and gave me a great exfoliation and massage. I wasn't planning on getting a manicure as my time was tight and my nails were pretty short. They conviced me that they would look better and have a chance to grow with polish. And they told me they could do my mani while my pedi was finishing up which made me feel like a rockstar! they are pretty big on the upsale here. that's why i have to remove 1 star. Last time i was in the girl (maybe Tammy the owner?) kept trying to talk me into the gel polish mani which costs $25. Sure it may last longer, but thats at double the price.... Love this place! I've been getting my eyelashes done every two weeks since September 2015. The owner is the one who does the eyelashes and she does a really nice job and always takes her time. She always remembers my name and is incredibly sweet and professional. Two weeks is just about the right time for a retouch on the eyelashes... I'm not sure if that is good or bad but I can't complain for $45! The pricing is the best I've found if you sign up for their year membership program. I've had several mani/pedi's and this one was definitely in the bottom 10. The customer service was severely lacking; I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed there. $35 for a mani/pedi, which is a typical price, not crazy expensive but not cheap either. It also bothered me that I couldnt put the tip on my credit card receipt and had to walk to ATM and get cash. Ugh. And then....Afterwards, the color and my nails looked great (except she filed them square without asking me) and a few days later, no chips- which was spectacular and I was very impressed and almost gave them 4 or 5 stars. But then a few days after that I realized that my cuticles looks HORRIBLE! Worse than when I had come in (which is saying A LOT!). The skin around my nails was so bad that my thumb skin has peeled off to halfway down my thumb. I've never had this problem before after a mani/pedi. So now I will have to go somewhere else to get this fixed, because it looks so bad. And I will probably not come back to this place again. read more

I had originally purchased an online deal for a shellac mani/pedi and they did a great job! We went on a Sunday (by appointment) and we were the only ones there the whole time, took a little over an hour total. I have gone back since for another shellac mani and pedi after work (with appointment) and this time it took about 2 hours. They were pretty busy and still kept accepting walk-ins. They did a good job! Definitely a fan and all the girls are very sweet, although they do not speak much english, so communicating instructions may be tough. Tammy the manager was very quick, efficient, and does speak english well. The regular pedi has lasted over 3 weeks without chipping and the shellac mani lasted over 2 weeks without chipping. read more

I did not have a good experience here. It was my first time coming here and I will not be returning. I came in for a acrylic manni and regular pedi. When I was getting my pedicure done the woman was so distracted listening in on everyone else's conversations and looking around to everyone else besides paying attention to doing my pedicure. She barely even put the hot stone on my legs at all and she only scrubbed one of my foot because she was so distracted and wasn't even paying attention. she did the same thing with putting the blue gel on my leg to scrub it she only did it to one of my leg and then when I got to the other leg she just put her hands on my other leg for literally one second and she was so distracted paying attention to everything else that she stopped immediately and then moved onto the next thing. I decided not to say anything but I was super annoyed. When it came to my manicure the woman didn't even stick my fingers in warm water or cut my cuticles or file or cut my real nails or anything! She did the lazy way out and just do used a electronic buffing tool to buff my nails to prepare them for the acrylics. Since she didn't remove my cuticles I left the salon with gigantic ugly cuticles and it looks like I need a fill already because of the large gap. I also requested coffin nail shape and then when it was time to check out they told me the total and the total didn't add up to a acrylic manicure and regular pedicure so I question them on the price and then they said that the coffin cut was an extra five dollars which they had never told me when I requested it!! When I checked out there was no option to put a tip on the receipt and I didn't have any cash on me so when I told the lady that I had no cash on me she said "OK fine I can put a tip on your card" I told her to put five dollars and she said the minimum for a tip is $10. I couldn't believe it! Not to mention I went with a friend who was dealing with a UTI so she was going to the bathroom a lot and every time she would go the woman there would comment on how many time she went to the bathroom. My friend and I bought a groupon for a 37$ gel mani and pedi for this nail salon while visiting Boston from NJ. 37$ is pretty cheap regardless of the quality but I am extremely picky when it comes to a nail tech. I am sad to report that I live 5 hours from this place. Best mani pedi of my life. I've been to high end salons and the attention to detail was great. I've been here for 20 minutes now, another customer comes in & one of the employees says "just 10 minutes okay?" The bathroom is cramped (at best). No heated towels. Heated stone massage starts at 4:59. No massage, just rubbing hot stones on leg....Ends at 5:04, pedicure done at 5:14. Music is awful, like a giant Yanni? (I think) 5:37, manicure, but. I have given this place chance after chance and this is the last straw. Don't take the appointments if you can't actually provide the service. I would definitely not recommend this place. It does not seem sanitary at all. Upon walking into this establishment I was greeted (sarcasm) by a younger gentleman who was laying down on the couch, which his flip flops off and bare feet on the couch, gross! This is the couch paying customers would sit on if they had to wait to be seen. Multiple people walked in while I was there, not once did this individual even attempt to get up. How do they think this is ok? It is so unbelievably unprofessional. My nail technician was also awful. I told her I only wanted to file my nails, she proceeded to cut them, and super short at that, annoying. What really topped it off though was when she filed uneven. I had to ask if someone else could take over, which is when everyone started to talk about me in their native language, leaving me feeling very uncomfortable. I bought a Groupon to check them out and had two terrible experiences: A) The first time, I didn't realize I had to make an appointment, which would have been totally understood had the place not been pretty much empty. There were at least 4 workers sitting around waiting for the next client. However, the owner still wouldn't let me get a mani/pedi. Red flag #1- I should have called Groupon to get my money back right then. B) The second time, I did it the right way- made my appointment and all is well getting my mani/pedi. I told them from the beginning I had a Groupon. When I go to give my tip and leave, I'm told they are charging $8 for the removal of my nail polish... REALLY? I saw NO visible signs indicating they charge for this, and if that is their policy, it should have been clear to me before they went ahead and removed the polish. I am perfectly capable of doing it myself and would have if I had known. Conclusion- very poor customer service and I will NOT go back there. You're better off going a few doors down to Attractive Nails. They are much nicer there and do good work. read more

I usually don't do deals on Groupon, but when I came across this sweet deal for a Brazilian Wax; I could not pass it up. The salon was easy to find and parking was so much better than what I'm use to in Boston. On top of that, the price and efficiency of the waxing process was AMAZING! Although, waxing down under can be awkward, Tammy was great in explaining the process and questions I had. I have been going to diamond nails for about a year. In the beginning they were nice and the service was fine and location was convenient, but my last 3 or four vists were painful emotionally and unnecessarily physically painful. They have a program that you pay for annually to get discounts on a set type of services which kept me going back recently. I was hoping it was just "a bad day." The last few visits my technician dug into my toe so bad it still hurts occassionally a month later. My recent few visits I was lead to believe the service I requested were what i asked for and it wasnt what I was getting. The big thing is i called for an appointment for a mani pedi gel fill. My technician did my pedi as a shellac only not gel, but i thought that was part of the policy but when she started foiling my hand i made it clear i wanted a gel fill. Suddenly all the technicians acted like they didnt speak english when I asked anyone to help explain to this woman i was getting the wrong service. Not one employee would look at me and i wasnt hysterical, i just wanted someone to address my concerns. Finally a client said "they call shellac and gel the same thing." I then asked for the owner and finally Tammy came into the room and said she would take care of my manicure. She did acrylic fill even tnough i made it clear i wanted gel. She said next visit would be gel. I made another appointment this week for a gel fill pedi only and she used a powder gel product then told me to pick any color and indicated no matter what i picked it would be covered with gel. When she finished and asked me to go to the nail dryer stand i asked her why since it was gel she said it was bc I picked OPI. I dont understand why the service hasnt gotten so deporable but i tipped Tammy - the owner 20% even though i shdnt have due to how she insulted me AND she's the owner. Who gets "gel" so they can walk out and worry about smudging. I would no longer advice anyone to go to this salon since they clearly dont respect their clients.
