Honestly, the women were so kind and attentive when I arrived, but this is one of the worst nail jobs I've ever had done. I got a dip manicure and paid $50. She took well over an hour and I have polish all over my skin and the dip powder is extremely thick and chunky. The sides of my nails are glued to the skin on my fingers. Pictures are included!

I do nails as a part time so I know what I want... but this was not what I asked for and honestly upset with how these came out. I rather them tell me they can't do it then try to attempt something they never did. I got a gel main and the coats and layers aren't even especially for the lighter color you can still see bumps and fuzz stuck to it... she cut my nails wait to short when she could've just filed it... but the design is literally what threw me off... not even what I had asked for. As for sanitary they reuse the disposable files and buffers instead of throwing them out for each customer. You're able to tell from the color of the files because they're literally dirty looking and not white.

I had a great time and wonderful service! Katie was super accommodating and flexible. I must've tried six different colors, but she was patient and even helped me combine different colors to get a unique look! Nails look great too!

Worse nail salon ever

Worse nail salon I've ever been to. They put gel over my dip which peeled off right away. Not to mention I left the nail salon with red powder all over my fingers, had to buy nail polish remover and scrub it off my skin. It also took them 2 hours and 55$. Really sad I wasted my time and money. (This picture is taken 1 day after getting them done).

Horrible service, the woman insisted that I pay with Venmo even though they accept credit cards. In the middle of the manicure, other customers came in and the employee began to do a rush job. I asked for a refund because she botched my nails and she refused to give send me back the money over Venmo, stating she would do it later. Someone sent me a partial refund later but I'm still out nearly $60. I had to leave with botched nails and go to another salon (Hand and Heals Boutique on Harvard Ave. which I would highly recommend). Won't be going to Brookline Beauty ever again. The woman did not use a base coat for the pedicure and it is completely crooked. (I'll add the pictures if I can figure out how)

A few hours after having them redone

I have never had an experience like this with dip. It took 45 minutes for them to remove the existing dip powder I had on and the two ladies were switching back and forth working on my nails, and it took two hours for the entire process. They also use a gel top coat on dip which I have never seen done before, and it started peeling off the next day. I also had dark powder all over the sides of my nails and on my fingers, and the dip didn't even cover my full nail. Early the next morning, my nails were already cracking and peeling. I called and they said to come back in. I came back in a couple nights later and they redid them, but they were already cracking, breaking and peeling off a few hours later. Ridiculous that I spent $65 to spend 4 hours in one week on nails that didn't even last a full 24 hours.

Everyone was very kind and they did a wonderful job for my walk in apt! I would absolutely recommend :)

I had such a nice experience at Brookline Beauty Nails & Spa. Sophie is very talented and patient and paid special attention to the details as she gave me a dip French manicure! I've never loved my nails more! Will be back :)

So clean and so pretty!!

Went again today for a mani/pedi. I have to say, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Celine and crew are just incredible. I've never been happier with the way my nails come out. They really care about customer satisfaction and quality work. I never feel rushed here. It's quite relaxing here. Please give them a try, you'll become a forever customer. Thank you ladies for a fabulous job!!

I came in with a whole squad of my girlfriends for a pampering day of mani pedis, eyelash extensions, and general dishing about life and horrible exes (I mean, spas and salons are like cathartic church for that after all;). I ended up getting lash extensions and a gel manicure and left with a whole new (almost superpower) ability to bat my lashes like an Olympic pro. Gone are the days of gluing daily sets of false eyelashes on for special events and tearing off chunks of your own eyelashes when removing them at 2am, between eating pizza and throwing your socks on the ground after a long night (millennial adulting problems, I know). Ok, you'll still do the latter, but your eyelashes will look on fleek. I've always had pretty short, straight lashes and mascara and eye curlers don't do much for volume or lengthening, so I ended up getting the voluminous / dramatic lashes. Surprisingly, they ended up looking voluminous but not overly unnatural, which is just what I wanted -- something that passes as pseudo natural in the day and looks amazing at night with amped up eye makeup. The girl who gave me the lash extensions did a fantastic job -- she was super careful and meticulous with placement and the way they looked, and very gentle overall (important AF when doing anything near/on eyes). Not sure how long it took because I pseudo fell asleep, but I basically opened my eyes to a version of me that looks auto-awake. I absolutely loved them and couldn't wait to throw some eyeliner on after. Everyone here is super nice and welcoming (tea, coffee, Lindt chocolate, Green tea Kit Kats, or cookies, anyone?) and I'm in love with the (highly Instagrammable) flower wall in the back. It's a really modern white space decked with chandeliers and a gorgeous flower wall, and is pristine and clean - couldn't have asked for a better spot to do a girls day:D. My friends loved their nails, and I can't wait to go back for pampering day #2 (I'm prepped to make this a ritual lasting longer than 10 seasons of Lost;)

It took about two hours to get a dip manicure. With no tips. Then on top of it, the topcoat wasn't done correctly. So I had to go back. And when I did, they couldn't open the door to the store. Really not a great experience and would not recommend. I really hate to leave a bad review but for over $60 it's hard to justify that cost.

Awesome service and great technique for a good price! They have a special on their website: 10% off 100$ gift card! On top of that, they offer 30% off after 5 services or 20% for you and whoever you refer! The technicians were very detail oriented and so receptive to my requests. One of the best gel manis I've paid for. They can do Japanese nail techniques here! Would definitely come back!

I just got a manicure done yesterday. I paid $30 for the longer lasting polish but it's already chipping. Overall, they look very sloppy and my cuticles look terrible. The only good thing I can say is they seem to take cleanliness seriously.

I…read morewent to another Korean beauty store down the road right before going to Tao's, to find out Tao's prices are unbeatable compared to their competitor. I will 100% be back next time I'm in the city!

I was intrigued by this beauty supply store and made the trek to Chinatown on a Saturday afternoon…read morejust to check out what Tao's had. The store is well stocked with a variety of Asian (mostly Chinese but also Japanese and Korean) beauty products and supplies/stationary along with some snacks. It gets easily crowded in the shop so be prepared to dodge other customers eyeing the makeup section. The unfortunate thing about this store is that some of the price labels are not placed properly or placed at all-- it kept me guessing at what the prices of some of the products were. I could've asked the employees, but who wants to ask the staff every time they want to know how much a product costs? Just a fair warning that you really SHOULD however get the proper pricing of these products prior to purchasing because some of these makeup/beauty products must be imported and therefore MUCH more expensive than if you would purchase them from an online supplier. My total came out to nearly $50 (yes, you read that right. 50 bucks) and all I bought were 4 products: an eyeliner, hand sanitizer, hand cream and dispoable razors. You can't even return these products because RETURNS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I'm sad I even joined the rewards program because I was charged 5 bucks for the keychain tag thing they give rewards members. The employee DID tell me this prior to me joining, but I didn't hear her properly because I was shocked at the additional charge when I did receive my receipt. I even saw that they were selling a limited edition Asian Starbucks tumbler for a whopping $64. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that there are some great variety of Asian beauty supplies (some reasonably priced, others not so much) offered at Tao's as well as for the very friendly employees who came by to ask if I needed anything several times.
