I've been going to Maura Linh for about 3 years now! Linh (the owner) is super sweet, as well as the other nail technicians. I generally always do a gel manicure and they stay on for about 3 weeks to a month until they start to peel. I've also done a regular manicure and acrylics at Maura Linh. The regular manicure chips quite quickly, within about 2-3 days. The acrylics stay on for about 3 weeks to a month. The prices at Maura Linh are great. Regular mani ~$14-$16, gel mani $30, regular acrylics $35, gel acrylics $50, dip ~$55. I highly recommend going to Maura Linh if you want a cheap yet good manicure! Overall rating: 9/10 read more

I've never really liked my own feet -- lil sausage toes, small/wide nails, tendency to get really dry and cracked, etc. -- but after getting a gel pedicure here ($55 before tip), I can't stop admiring them! The appointment took a little under an hour and was incredibly thorough: soak, scrub, pumice for my disastrously dry heels, massage with lotion, shaping, filing, and painting. (I might have missed a couple of steps in there because I was incredibly relaxed the whole time.) My pedicurist also hit the sweet spot between gentleness and firmness, so everything felt great while not aggravating my ticklishness or my endless bruises from smacking my shins against furniture. The lady doing my nails was incredibly distracted and did poor messy work that, a few times, almost hurt me, and she didn't even apologize. I also felt that, for whatever reason, she was negatively talking about me to other Vietnamese technicians; I know this because they would look at me after she said something, and she would not look into my eyes. She didn't even try to be friendly or courteous to me; she didn't even say thank you when it was finished. I shouldn't have tipped her; she didn't do a good job and made me uncomfortable. This is the second time I've been here; the first time, they messed up one of the nails and didn't even bother fixing it. What kind of a nail shop is this?! Just went there to get a manicure. The lady who did my nails was very nice and outgoing and asking me questions (at first). After she shaped and cleaned my nails she said I had to pay and I thought that was really odd because normally you pay at the end. They charged me $16 for their listed $14 manicure. And I didn't tip right at that moment. When I got back to the table her mood changed. She said that since I picked a good brand nail polish I was charged extra. And then proceeded to paint my nails as fast as she could. Some of my nails did not get painted completely with top coat. There are a lot of bubbles. She used her phone every in between coats. And did not speak to me again. And didn't even help me move my stuff to the location where you dry the nails. It was very unprofessional. I did end up leaving a $4 tip at the desk but I promise I will never be going there again. Treated myself to a manicure for my birthday weekend and Mauralinh was down the street super convenient. I got a french mani and pedi and it took about an hour and a half, maybe a little more - to be honest it felt long and definitely more time than I anticipated. I will say the polish was applied a little thicker than my liking but it got the job done and didn't chip too quickly. Next time I'll ask for thinner lines. They turn around a manicure pretty quickly though (gel or regular) - 2-3 girls came and went by the time I had finished. read more

I went to this spa twice in the past month to get a removal of my dip manicure and new dip manicure. The first time i went with my roommate, while I had a great experience her nails came out absolutely horribly. I went back again and although my nails look good, the lady who removed my polish and did my nails absolutely mutilated my fingers. I left with two cuticles literally bleeding and my others sore and red and stinging. Multiple times I winced in pain and involuntarily pulled my hand away and the lady doing my nails did not apologize or be more gentle with my nails. Not to mention, when she was removing my dip polish she soaked them for a very short period of time, and when she went to remove the polish none of it came off, so she proceeded to aggressively drill ALL of my polish off. My nails were hot and burning and I could feel how horribly they thinned from this removal process, I have never experienced this at another salon and I get my nails done A LOT. I was very excited about this salon since it was right by my apartment, and I am not one to leave bad reviews unless something was VERY bad. steer clear of this place if you value your nail health. im editing because my nails look extremely sub par at best and i had to file the edges and clean my wounds when i got home, really nervous that they gave me an infection. It was very clean nice upscale and quiet ambience that is definitely what I was looking for so I did not mind the wait-time. Note: Only writing about a pedicure, as I never get manicures. Cannot comment on how they do hands/gel/dip nails. Got a pedicure here post-pandemic after not having my toenails done for over a year. I added the foot massage and hot stone massage. Including the exfoliation, foot soak, callus removal, nail trimming and filing, oil coat, polish, clear coat and drying, everything came to about $45 and the quality was worth it. Everything in the salon was clean, well-lit, disinfected, fresh instruments, and all nail artists wore masks and gloves. I chose a red polish and she did two coats plus a clear coat. There was absolutely no smearing, streaking, or mess, and my nails lasted without a chip for probably two months. Will definitely go back here. Woa $13 for a classic manicure and $27 for gel in a new, clean, professional salon with experienced and careful technicians? I can't believe they aren't booked like crazy on the weekend. I called Saturday morning for an afternoon appointment without a problem. I decided to try to spa manicure special for $20 which includes a scrub massage and paraffin. It blew me away because I got a full lower arm and hand massage with a scrub, paraffin in lotion form (which I haven't seen before), and an actual lotion rub. Plus multiple warm towel treatments throughout. My nails were sprayed with a drying spray at the end, which again I had never seen before. This place is much more worth than the Newbury salons that charge $15 for a basic file and paint that doesn't give any idea of pampering. They provide complimentary water and coffee. Their tools are sanitized. I had no discomfort during cuticle trimming. And their shedules somehow are not fully booked. The drying fans used in between each coat are actually built into their counters if that makes sense. My small problem with that is I have to hold my arm up at an awkward angle for my nails to dry in front of the fan, instead of letting them rest on the table. In their attempt to look modern and sleek, I think they also assumed most people would get a gel manicure. Makes sense because their gel is only $27 here. I've been to my fair share of nail salons and MauraLinh is the only salon that swept me of my feet with its posh interior, friendly customer-service, cleanliness, and location. Located right off the B-Line's Packard's Corner stop, you cannot miss MauraLinh. I actually stumbled into this salon when I had some time to spare before meeting up with a few friends in Allston. Maura was very gracious as she welcomed me into the sleek spa-salon. I went in for a simple pedicure. Although I had to wait 25 minutes, time flew as Maura gave me some green tea while I relaxed on one of several massage chairs. Never have I been offered tea (or any beverage for that matter) at a nail salon. The friendliness continued to my nail technician (Yen) who actually made very pleasant conversation with me. I ended up going back to the salon a few days later to get a gel-manicure in time for the new year. I had a different nail technician this time around, but Yen was still at the salon. Not only did she recognize me, but she also remembered my name, a total first for me at ANY salon. It speaks volumes to the service that one can expect at MauraLinh. There was another customer who parked outside the salon at an invalid parking spot. Maura rushed outside with the customer to get her quarters and a new parking spot. Mauralinh Spa provides top-notch service with free bottled water and a lovely staff along with a great assortment of colors, however, their performance is mediocre. Unfortunately, they lack some essential skills (but maybe this only happens to me because I get the same lady every time). They recently got some brand new colors that I am in love with . The co-owner Lihn is a joy to be around and show how much she cares about her work. Second time here, got better service the first time. I came in at 6pm and probably the last customer of the night. Waited for fifteen min before someone came over to assist me. The woman sat me at a chair and turned the water on and left me. The water was mildly warm at most. When she finally came back (she was shuffling between me and another girl getting her nails done), she quickly buffed and trimmed my nails in five minutes. When I came here during the summer, I was taken care of; they cleaned between my nails and cuticles, massaged and pampered my legs and feet. This time, the entire process was so rushed. I was on that chair for max fifteen minutes. A quick rub, a brief nail clipping and it was done. And the nails weren't even or rounded. If I hadn't asked her to file it so it was rounded and even, I would have had jagged nails (think werewolf feet). I almost had the heart to ask to file it myself. Luckily, after guiding her to file my nails correctly, it came out to be an okay shape and form. Now the polish job I have no complains of. I love their color selection here and that is mainly the reason why I'm giving this any star at all. I got a bright sparkly pink color this time (got a peachy sparkle last time). Overall, love the color selection they have but I won't be back (using up a giftcard I got). I came here to relax after work and felt so rushed. I was done before the other women next to me (and they were there before I sat down). Eye for detail is missed. I would never let them do my hands here. read more

I feel bad writing this review as one of the nail technicians has been very sweet and does nails well. Along with, practices i believe, good hygiene. With all that being said, i went in during lunch for what is probably my 8th time here. No one was there but maybe the owner? not sure.. but like one of the PP reviewed, she had open wounds on her hand. One band aid covering a finger and the rest open. Her nails had some type of fungus as they were colored deep yellow, and in general her fingers were all cracked - clearly something was going on with them. She started my nails, grabbed utensils below the table i hope were already sanitized, but i did not see her unwrap any tools from sanitation sleeve. The other nail tech did for another customer. I hoped she would put on gloves but never did. I should have spoke up as her "bad hand" with cracking skin/nails that appear to be contracted with some fungal infection, could have been contagious. LUCKILY my manicure stayed normal, but i promised myself i would not risk my health again. Never.ever.EVER. going back. How a nail tech is not embarassed of their horrendous nail conditions is beyond me. As a nail tech, i would want my nails to be perfect. She had no shame. Scary to think of what else we don't see.... I had come across my nail salon's Yelp reviews, and felt compelled to write a review. I have been a regular customer of Mauralinh's since it opened in November 2016. I have all my nail and waxing services done here, and would never think of going anywhere else due to the quality and value of the services that I receive. After reading some of the other reviews, I wonder if any of the persons' thoughts/displeasure were communicated during their service (immediately or even a day or two after) to someone of authority about not being happy or satisfied? I'm a huge advocate of respectfully voicing your concern directly and promptly when expecting a certain level of product and service, if you do not feel you are receiving it. If with the opportunity, the establishment is not willing to remedy the situation, then shame on them, but not offering them the opportunity by being up front at the time can be a wasted opportunity. There's nothing to lose by saying something if you're already not feeling happy or satisfied. Over the years the couple of times I've witnessed someone mention anything of concern at Mauralinh, the situation has always been graciously addressed and corrected. I've recently started doing "dip" nails instead of gel, and I really like it. It does not use any UV light to set, and for removal, they need to soak longer, but require practically no scraping of any kind. So overall, it's a healthier option for nails and has helped mine to grow stronger/longer. My work schedule is a little wacky, and on several occasions the salon has stayed open late to accommodate me, which I've appreciated. I always leave satisfied with my service, and will remain a loyal customer of Mauralinh, and I am very happy to do so! read more

I came on a relatively busy day. I chose to do my pedicure in regular polish and I had to wait for a long time. When it was my turn the nail tech asked me if I wanted massage with it and I said no just the color this time. (I've done the massage before) After she's done painting my nails she told me to go dry my toe nails and totally forget about me. I waited another 30min and finally got someone and let them to check my nails. This other nail tech person told me those are dry and I was okay to go. Nothing else but they gave other customers dry spray and plastic wraps on their toe. After I got home I took off my shoes and realized my toe is messed up because the color wasn't dry. I came back today and no one was really willing to help me fix it. The person who fixed my toe nail sounded super impatient and annoyed the entire time. I feel very blamed even though it was not my fault and I wasted another 1.5 hrs coming back and fixing one toe. After she fixed it they just left me on the chair and never checked on me again until I asked for some plastic wrap when I saw they did that to another customer and also let her use the drying machine but not me. Yes I waited another 1.5 hrs this time just to make sure it won't happen again. I guess at this store you'll have to get expensive service to be treated nicely/equally. read more

The staff here are very friendly and I have had a few good experiences getting a dip manicure. Prices are reasonable for the area and the dip manicures last me a few weeks. Do not let the cute decor gyp you. I have never been to a nail salon that does not include a foot scrub in a basic (spa) pedicure. I had to ask the tech to actually finish out the pedicure.
