You'll think I'm lying, but I swear I'm not. I walked in to have one nail fixed (my natural nail with dip powder). An employee doing a pedicure claimed they didn't do dip powder sets (WITH A WALL FULL OF DIP POWDERS BEHIND HER) Then the employee in the back of the shop in agreement shouting out to me that they do not do extensions or acrylic (neither of which asked for). THEIR FINAL RESPONSE TO ME: You can just go & get somebody else to do it. Just for reference according to the employees at this location this salon does "NOT" provide the following services: Acrylic application, dip powder sets or nail extensions. lmaoo can't make this up. *My skin is like Lupita Nyang'o's. My go-to nail spot since moving to JP. Every time I try a different place I regret it. Definitely call ahead to make a reservation, sometimes walk ins are completely fine but sometimes they get slammed. I usually do a regular pedi (hot stones are amazing), and a gel mani a few times a year. Quality is excellent - got my manicure almost a month ago and only one is slightly chipped. Pedicure will stick around the same amount of time! The only reason not to go would be if you're the type who expects everyone to simper over you when you get your nails done. They're kind enough, especially when YOU are courteous and polite, and they do a great job. read more

First time here and probably my last. $48 without tip for dip mani with one fake nail tip added. I called ahead to make sure they had time for me - promptly seated at 230 when my appointment was but it felt very rushed. Couldn't even bother to clean up underside or around cuticles. Awful UPDATE went back to kindly ask if they could fix underneath the nail and was told they looked "fine" and questioned whether I'd ever had a dip manicure before. I've gotten multiple dip manicures over the last year and this is by far the worst. They flat out refused to fix it or help me in anyway. TERRIBLE read more

Service was very bad. We were told to "come back in 30 minutes". We came back after the 30 minutes and they still weren't ready. We waited an additional 31 minutes before finally leaving. They were taking people who either came in after us, or who added on services after the fact. One lady, sitting next to us in the pedicure chair didn't even tell the people that she wanted a manicure before hand and said she wanted one, but could wait until next time since she could see we had been waiting. They chose to continue and give her a manicure, which would cause us to wait even longer! Enough! We walked out. I did call back, but they did not care. Don't go to this salon if you don't want to wait extended periods of time and feel discriminated against. We were the only people of color there and no one of color came in during this entire deal. I'm from out of town, but I'll be sure to share our experience. I wish my 11 yr old granddaughter didn't have to experience this with me today. We haven't come as far as we think ! Great gel mani and regular pedi! My friend and I made a reservation to be seen at the same time and we were able to get pampered in an hour. I highly encourage to make a reservation encause there were several walk-ins that had to wait outside in the cold due to COVID capacity limitations. My manicurist was very sweet and asked me if I liked the color and shape of my nails before proceeding with the rest of them. read more

I got a manicure last week - I had only had 1 pedicure there once and waxing. Both were good & my pedicure lasted over a month. They are not the friendliest staff and I would suggest the staff at JP Nails smile or be a little pleasant-rather than a grimace---but I can't fault them because they did an excellent job on my manicure and I've gotten a bunch of compliments on my nails. I live close by so it is convenient and I would recommend them. These pics are after doing a ton of dishes and cooking and they still look very good. I will be back! :) read more

Very clean and high quality mani/pedis. The ladies who work there are all very nice. My only complaint is that I always make an appointment when I want to visit the salon and it has never once been honored. I have been there three times now and made to wait 45+ minutes every time I've visited. My recommendation to the business is to simply stop taking appointments if they do not have the capacity to honor them. I would suggest operating on a "walk-ins only" basis, so there is no expectation from your customers and  less disappointment/frustratio­n as a result. read more

They DISCRIMINATE and violate law. I just filed an ADA complaint against JP Nail Salon. On May 7 @ approximately 9:35 a.m., they flatly refused me entry with my service dog. She had on her vest and when I tried to show them papers and to read them the law they said they did not care, I could not come in. They were blatantly disregarding the law. I would think twice about the morality of supporting such a discriminatory establishment. They did not even want to do right even when informed. There are other salons more in keeping with the spirit of JP and the law than these folks and probably as good if not better. Willful ignorance and causal disregard for the rule law should not be supported. Do the right thing. read more

I was a loyal customer--the price was right--until the day they sneered at me, I assume for wearing socks with sandals. I might not understand their language, but it's pretty obvious when people are snickering at you and exchanging glances with their coworkers. They did it again when I put my bag where I guess I shouldn't have, lacking anywhere else to put it down. A friend laughed and said "I'd probably laugh at you wearing socks and sandals too." My response: It's their, and your, right to sneer. It's also my right to take my business to an establishment that isn't this snobby and judgmental. And, by the way? As somebody who's had diabetes for 54 years, I'll keep treating my feet as if they were jewels, regardless of whether the look is fashionable or not. read more

I don't normally get gel manicures because my nails are weak and they end up chipping anyways but I decided to give it another shot and tried JP nails based on the reviews and was not disappointed! I came in on a Saturday morning at 10am (only an hour after opening) and the salon was already packed! We were lucky to not wait very long so just keep that in mind when you go. It has been 8 days since my manicure and it still looks amazing! Made it through a week of the beach and assembling and Ikea dresser. Now that's what I call quality! I've been going to this place for pedicures for a few years. I hadn't been in a while due to quarantine and went in earlier this week. If you're nervous about going to places, this place is on top of everything. I walked in, they checked my temperature and then politely asked me to wash my hands in the sink before I sat to have a pedicure. Everything is thoroughly cleaned. I wound up staying and getting a manicure because I was so comfortable with their space. The door has a small window in it for ventilation, the women wear masks and plastic shields as well as gloves of course, there is plexiglass barrier for manicures. I really wanted to love this place: it's around the corner from my house, the prices are competitive, the technicians seem nice, and I loved the complimentary paraffin dip. But my shellac manicure lasted a sad 7 days. The tech didn't do a good job of keeping the polish on the nail only, so that it started to peel off the cuticle and skin the day after the manicure. They mixed brands - Gelish as base and top coat, Opi or cnd as the color coat - so the materials didn't work well together (or something) because by day 7 my polish was lifting off the nail, tiny cracks were visible in the polish, and my shellac manicure was more of a hot mess than a chipping regular manicure. This is so irritating, because the whole reason to pay extra for shellac or gel is to get at least 14 days out of it. I'm going back to Miniluxe in Brookline, where it's more expensive but at least I consistently get 16-21 days wear. Bummer. That being said I will give this place one more try for a regular pedicure. I'm hoping that they will do a better job when not doing shellac. read more

Went here on a Friday mid-afternoon with my two besties. They both had pedicures and manicures and I only had a manicure. We chatted while they were getting their nails done. All of our nails turned out great. The woman who did my nails did a great mini hand massage and I liked the paraffin treatment. I also like how you get to pick what kind of lotion you want. This place has inexpensive prices for the high quality service and treatments available. They are my go to spot in JP. I even was able to get sparkles! read more

I have been going to JP nails for about three years. I switch between gel manicures and regular to keep my nail healthy. I've gotten manicures from just about all of the ladies and all are great. Some better than others-but all are worth their weight. My favorite thing about this place is that they do have great service and tend to remember my weird habits like no wax and no cuticle cutting. I also give them five stars for occasional waxing services. My only qualm is that they don't provide great acrylics or even offer gel extensions. It's not huge because I generally want these done once a year. Just wish they offered more. read more

They do a good job on nails but they often overbook and you have yo wait 20-40 min after appointment time. They just keep saying "5 minutes", knowing its longer. Why make 5 appts for 6pm if you have 3 people working? So if you don't mind waiting 30minutes past appt time to start, at least they do a good job with the nails. read more

I've been going to JP Nails for over 2 years. I am surprised by some of the comments about the salon being racist. As a person of color, I have never experienced racism there. If anything, I've only seen people rudely talk to the employees there. Yes, some of them don't know much English but frankly I am not going there to talk. I just want to relax and get my nails done. I do wish they had more color options... I also don't think their massages are long enough... but their attention to detail meets my standards and that's more important to me! read more
