My friend and I had decided we wanted to get pedicures, so we walked in to see if they had availability for two walk-in pedis. Just had the worst experience of my life at this place. My mom and I wanted to go get our nails done so we made an appointment at 1 and was early and they started taking people before us. They finally took my mom. My mom asked for a French tip, the lady forgot to do them and then she made an excuse saying my mom's nails were too short. Even though they weren't. A worker then came up to me and told me that I'm going to have to wait another hour because the lady that was supposed to do my nails isn't here yet but when she showed up she took someone else who came in way after me. I then showed her the design and she told me she doesn't do those types of designs here even though it was all over their website. So I just left and my mom was upset that they didn't do what she asked for. Worst experience of my life I've never been treated so badly at a nail salon. read more

The first pedicure I decided to get here, on 2020/10/05, also turned out to be the last. It was so painful that, when I awoke the following morning, I suspected that I'd find my toes caked with blood when I removed the socks I'd worn to bed. I didn't, but wouldn't recommend the joint to anyone not a masochist. The rough treatment I received may have been personalized for me, as I'm being harassed and stalked by a group of people whose hatred of me I don't understand the genesis of. They seem to enjoy inducing service industry employees, coworkers, and other folks I interact with to behave in a more abrupt, less-professional manner than they'd typically be able to get away with. On the bright side, the dark red polish looked great, my abused toenail beds bore no visible signs of battery until later -- pangolin shell effect, anyone? --, and the paint job remained unchipped for at least eight weeks. The eco-friendlier polish I chose after some moments of indecision that elicited snark from the waiting nail technician set me back $40 or $45 -- but no price can be put on the visible, long-term damage to the toenails from her aggressive digging around them. Went here with a friend to get gel manicures and as one does with a friend at a nail salon, we caught up to chat. First off, they were a bit vague about the instructions on what to do during the gel drying (just motioning and nodding their head), but we definitely paused to understand what they were saying. At the end though, they silently put away their supplies, so my friend had asked if her nails were dry, and the technician rudely replied "What? Yes, they're dry. See you don't know what's going on because you talk too much." Like what? 1) This is a nail salon, of course friends will talk. 2) It was an innocent question and you did not explain what you did with our manicures, just silently expected us to leave a tip (that too, they basically demanded a tip) Also the manicure quality was absolutely not worth the money, I've gotten non-gel manicures that were better done and lasted longer. My gel nails literally chipped less than a week after. I'm honestly not a super picky person, and would've been perfectly happy with a neutral experience, but the rudeness and poor quality definitely warrants looking elsewhere for manicures, this salon is definitely not worth the time and money. read more

I am a frequent customer of this nail salon. I have always had good service and have mostly encountered very friendly staff. Today I did not! A nail technician by the name of Song was Rude , loud and borderline Hostile. I usually get the same services and even the same color nail polish. I'm a pretty easy customer. Today I thought I would try something new. I asked about the difference in polishes( Gel or powder) and couldn't really decide. I had a GREAT experience at Millennium Nail Salon. I was short on time and my usual salon couldn't take me right away so I wandered into Millennium. They were able to take me for a pedicure on the spot. My initial impression was 'WOW these are the most comfortable, clean massage chairs I've ever sat in!' They looked and felt new - smooth, unblemished leather and I actually felt like I was getting a decent massage instead of the usual barely distinguishable tapping. The foot spa was also very nice (and clean) and had a modern look to it. Moving on to the actual pedicure, my technician was very thorough and did a great job. She was friendly and at first talkative, until I think she realized I was more interested in reading my book so she kept the convo to a minimum (which I appreciated). When all was said and done, my feet looked and felt refreshed and I was no longer ashamed to walk around in sandals! For $30, this place was pretty awful! We needed a quick mani/pedi before going out on Saturday night, so we were told to come here. It was also the closest to where we were staying. They heard "quick" and immediately rushed 2 people for each of us, so that we could get out of there in a timely fashion. This was a rushed job, and I left with botched nails. The woman giving me a pedicure kept smacking my leg to tell me to put it up or down on the seat, instead of speaking to me like a human being, and then cut my cuticle because she was going so fast. In the end, my feet look good, so I shouldn't complain much, but my manicure is a joke. I shouldn't be complaining because it was pretty cheap, but I wasn't impressed. Down to one star. I was pressed for time and didn't have time to do my own nails so I returned to this nail salon out of convenience. The nail technician that did my nails was the one that did my cousin's the first time we went. My cousin didn't tip her and neither did I this time because the experience was terrible. Yes, I am talking about you lady with the bob. She "shaped" my nails in ten seconds and was really aggressive. I was contemplating walking out mid mani, but I composed myself. She kept on sighing and breathing really heavy. She was visibly unhappy so I asked her if she was okay and she just nodded. She also put body lotion on my cuticles to push them down (where's the oil?) and was extremely aggressive with the cuticle nipper. I'm honestly surprised that she didn't cut me. The paint job was terrible. I had to ask her to fill in all of my nail because she was missing spots. The first coat was left as is (missing areas) but she covered those areas with the second coat, which led to the nail polish separating the next day. So sloppy. My 6 year old niece could do a better job. All set with this place for sure. read more

I miss Orange County, where a mani/pedi will run you around $15. I could never bring my cheap self to pay for a $35 pedicure, so I had to make do with semi-annual trips to the nail salon whenever I made it to OC for visits home. Eagle talons are hot, right? So when I passed by Millennium, and saw their $20 pedicure in the window, I thought, "JACKPOT!" They did a standardly good job on my poor tired feet. None of the bells and whistles that you're going to get overcharged for on Newbury, but I definitely won't be embarrassed of my paws when I have to show them off in holiday-party shoes. Manicure $10 I'm interested to see how well this manicure holds up, but so far it's pretty flawless. Not sure who my nail tech was, but I think her name might have been Amy (based on the biz card at her station; I don't think she gave me her name). The salon seemed clean; OK polish selection with Essie and OPI, a couple of China Glaze I think, basic shades; and the nail tech was incredibly meticulous. I wanted to have even length nails somewhere between square and oval and for my hangnails and cuticles to be cleaned up, and that's exactly what I got. My nails look GOOD. I'm not sure about the atmosphere though. I can't say that it was particularly warm, but I wasn't paying for tea and sympathy on a bad day or a hug and gabfest. I was paying for was a manicure, and it was cheap and really well done. I recommend this place if you are going for grooming, but not if you want to be pampered. EDIT: Only began to chip after 5 days. There were some weird cracking lines, but they didn't make the polish chip. Very solid manicure. read more

I'm not a very femme person in general, and so when I decided to get my first mani-pedi, I picked this place based on the prices and proximity to my apartment. From the reviews, I got the impression that people like this place more for the price, and not for the atmosphere. If you're looking to be pampered by a warm and friendly staff, this isn't the place for you. Most of the time, the staff are just interacting with each other, which I don't mind, since I can just zone out. They have massage chairs for pedicures, which is nice. I usually don't have to wait very long, although the one time I made an appointment, I might as well have just done a walk-in, since they didn't seem to even realize I had one. Bring cash; I think they can handle credit, but it's an inconvenience for both you and the tech, so don't bother. I am always satisfied with my nails afterwards; my polish tends to chip and peel after only an afternoon when I do my own nails, but after I go to the salon, my nails usually can last up to a week (and toe nails last long enough that I have to get the polish stripped at my next pedi). I haven't had any infections or hangnails. If you want a fun salon experience, this isn't it. But if you want a relatively cheap mani/pedi that lasts a reasonable amount of time, and you don't mind the staff almost ignoring you, this place is pretty good. read more

Good, solid manicure for $10. What more could you want? They have a good selection of essie and OPI polishes, and even carry the OPI line of gel polishes. They also have the good massage pedicure chairs and will even work on ingrowns (for an extra fee) which it seems like a lot of places in Boston won't do. Needed a last-minute mani but didn't have time to head over to my preferred NailBar, so I stopped in here and was taken right away. $10 buys you a standard no-frills mani with a decent selection of colors: nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about, just about as expected. My one gripe is that my nails ended up shorter than I wanted (something was lost in translation), but the rest of the mani was fine, and the manicurist was quiet and diligent in her work. Note that I was asked to pay prior to polishing, but it was probably for the best so I wouldn't smudge riffling through my wallet afterwards. I have gotten at least 10 mains/pedis here, and have always been completely satisfied. It's not a fancy place, but I think it's a bit nicer and cleaner than many of the cheap nail places in the area. I've seen them take the tools right out of the sterilization oven, which is reassuring (whether the machine actually has the proper uv lights, who knows). Manis are $10, pedis are $20, no discount for doing both. I seem to get a few days longer wear out of my manis here than at other places - as long as I don't pick at the polish, I get a full week out of a mani. Very pleasant and friendly nail technicians. On the occasions that I've smudged something or decided after a couple nails that I didn't like the color, they happily did a re-do. They take credit cards, and though they prefer cash for tips (who doesn't?), they have never given me a hard time for leaving the tip on a credit card. It's a walk-in place, as these types of salons generally are. You can make an appointment, but it doesn't really mean anything. If you're looking for a relaxing mani/pedi experience, skip Millennium. I've gone here several times and am done with this place. They rush you each and every time, regardless of how slow it is in there (even on a weekday morning when there's no one waiting). It's especially frustrating when going with my girlfriends; we'll make an appointment together and rather than making sure we get our pedis at the same time, they rush us along like we're on an assembly line. Another annoyance; most nail salons let you relax in the pedicure chair and allow you to enjoy the back massager as your nails dry, as long as no one is waiting for a pedicure chair. Here, they rush you out, even if several pedicure chairs are sitting there vacant. It's also ALWAYS freezing. Rather than having a cozy and relaxing experience, it's cold and drafty. Last time I went it felt like they couldn't get us out of there fast enough, even though it was pretty much dead in there. The antithesis of the relaxing mani/pedi. Also, they messed up my friend's manicure and she had to ask them to fix it. Skip this place and go elsewhere. read more

BEST salon! I've been going to Millennium Nails for about 10 years now. The prices are unbeatable. $30 for mani/pedi. That's a bargain! Kim is my nail specialist. I've been using her for 7 years now. Kim is very open and friendly. She knows what I like and how I like to have my mani/pedi. She actually listened to me when I told her how I wanted my nails done the first time. Millennium has a great selections on OPI and Essie nail polishes. They also offer gel polishes too. They now have waxing available which is great. It's a one stop shop for me. If I have a special event to go to, I will always go to Millennium. I won't go anywhere else. My nail colors lasts for a whole week. I DEFINITELY recommend Millennium to everyone! read more

Millennium is terrible and unreliable. I had a good experience at first, which got me hooked. But eventually everything went down hill. The manicurists talk and laugh while they look at you, it's very uncomfortable. I shouldn't be tense and uncomfortable while I get my nails done. Appointments are a joke. For a few months I came here every other week. They could never keep my appointment on Saturday mornings! I would make the first appointment they had available, and half the times I would get there and none of the manicurists would arrive until about 15 minutes later to open the shop.
