I am extremely disappointed with my experience at SkinMD. I took out CareCredit for Emsculpt Neo treatments and saw absolutely no results. Despite the claims on the made during the consultation and the before-and-after photos that were shown to me, the treatment did not deliver any measurable change to my body. What frustrates me most is that I do not feel I was given realistic expectations about the possibility of seeing no improvement. Had I been told that results vary significantly and that some patients may not notice any meaningful change, I would have made a different decision before taking on this expense. Additionally, when I told them I was unhappy with the services provided and ask for a refund or compensated services, they refused and instead tried to get me to pay for more treatments! This was a major financial commitment for me and all for a treatment that provided NO benefit. I would not recommend this place to anyone because they will not be honest with you about the results you will see. Do not waste your money- seek providers who are transparent about both the potential benefits and limitations of the treatment. read more

Disaster of an experience. Went in to improve my skin. The cosmetician was sick on the day of treatment. She was sniffling constantly, could hardly keep herself from sneezing on my face. She should not have been at work. She either was untrained, or not paying attention. She zapped my hair with the laser several times. Now, I have three bald spots on my face due to her laser. Who cares about a few red marks, if you're going to zap my hairline?! The negligent ugly result of their "beauty clinic" still remains month later, and may be permanent. I have gone to Skinmd for over a 2 years for weight loss, tattoo removal, and injections. The staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations for treatments. They are accommodating with appointment times and will help you find a time and alert you of cancelations. They also are professionals who do not push treatments or injections on people if they believe it would not benefit them, which is uncommon for the industry. Very happy with results of filler; as good as when I used to see the plastic surgeon that opened this chain. Did not notice any difference from the diamond glow facial; the facial scrub they sell works just as well. They were honest when I went on for a morpheus/laser consult that I would not see any appreciable difference in my particular skin (I was looking for pore size reduction, as Ive noticed foundation doesnt look as flawless on my skin in my 40s as in my 20s). two overall negative experiences with tattoo removal and lash treatment: tattoo removal: very expensive for tattoo removal compared to Removery. They don't use ice before treatment or cold air to make you more comfortable so the process is very painful and unbearable. They don't let the tat air out after and cover it with bandages causing lots of friction and irritation over the wound right after treatment. basically the way they do the treatment is as expensive and as painful as possible compared to other places that offer the same treatment. lash treatment: I also bought their lash serum. they don't tell you how to use it responsibly or that you should take long breaks from the treatment. nor does the manufacturer who I reached out to. If you do your own research, there are lots of risks and warnings. although it made my lashes extra nice, it caused discoloration of my actual eyes. I went to the eye doctor and they told me it would likely be permenant damage. they also tell you the lashes will stay that way, but they return to normal when you stop using the product and you must stop for long periods to use it safely and stop all together if it damages your eyes (which I did.) To make matters worse they called me to dispute my review. I told them I wasn't interested unless they were calling to apologize and refund me. After expressing my disinterest in further discussion and hanging up, they called and texted me asking me to remove my review because it was "misleading". As if having my experience dismissed and harassing me is going to make me take down my review... read more

I texted them to make a quick appointment for forehead botox (which I've been getting for about 15 years now) since my usual person couldn't take me. No big deal, they couldn't fit me in that week, but next appointment was over a month away which was kind of odd. Also, they wanted it to be a "consultation" which to me is confusing, do I need two appointments? For a 5 minute procedure? My problem is now I've probably received 6 voicemails and 7 texts asking me if I want an appointment, please leave me alone!! I've been going to skinMD for laser hair removal since 2019. My experience has varied widely. On one side of the spectrum some areas were unaffected by the treatments and no hair fell out, which is normally the sign that the treatment worked. My treatments were done at the correct timing (laser hair removal is supposed to be spaced at a certain amount of weeks) and it happened for about 4 of the treatments. On the other side of the spectrum treatments have been so severe I've gotten burned twice. I have always disclosed to my laser technician any sun exposure and let them know the treatments weren't working, but I was told not to worry. Less important but it's also common for the technician to miss two inch strips completely. I have olive skin so I think they may be unsure how to perform laser hair removal as effectively as they would on someone with lighter skin, and if you have a different skin tone you may be fine going to them. I've had more positive experiences with the Peabody clinic so I may try again with them. read more

Would not go back. I have only ever did Botox at other places (and been doing botox for 20 years) but the esthetician goes "we do dysport, it's better". Also recommended it in my upper lip to give me more of a lip flip. After 2 weeks I hardly see difference in my forehead and the lip flip didn't take. Either she used too little an amount (even though price was high) or dysport doesn't work on me. She also recommended a laser treatment and when I said I did research it on my own and it has downtime she goes "no, look, here is a pic of our RN who had it done. Right after she isn't even red". She regretted to inform you that your face turns and then peels for a week! I feel like they will tell you anything to get you to sign up for a treatment. How you could not tell a patient that their face will peel and they will look horrible for a week is beyond. They also bragged about the fact that they do lipo right in the regular treatment rooms. I thought a lot about this, as I have gone to this business for a few years (when it was in the smaller building) and always liked jt. It seemed like a serious medical spa, albeit commercially driven. First, the pros: The new building is beautiful and the staff are very nice, and it is easier to get appointments. The cons, for me, are major. The major con is that I find it to be *very* unprofessional, mainly for Emsculpt (the only service I have tried recently) . I tried emsculpt here a few years' ago here and they were very strict about when you could come, where it was placed on your abdomen and how intense the system could/should be, and they checked in on you once in 30 minutes. The last time I came in, the air conditioning wasn't working. Normally no problem, but I was sweaty and it the device was moving around on my abdomen. Then the assistant was busy, so she said that I could simply make the contractions more or less intense by working the machine myself (while I was laying on the table, and I have never used it). Of course I can do this, but should I? Shouldn't someone be checking in? And finally, as I said above, the device wasn't well-positioned on my abdomen, so it was slipping around everywhere. Again, perhaps this doesn't matter, but shouldn't it? These are heavy electromagnetic pulses on my body, and presumably I want it to be in the right place. I ended up leaving after 20 minutes. In general, it felt as if it was a "do it yourself" experience, rather than a serious medical spa and clinic. Perhaps emsculpt has changed a lot in the past few years and it is more lax in general. If that is the case, then, it seems as if people could do it themselves. I will not. I had purchased a set of four, but will be requesting my money back for the last two. read more

She checked in with me throughout the session to make sure I was okay, and made sure I felt satisfied with the treatment after. I have always been the type of person who wanted to avoid fillers and Botox. I wanted to be au naturale for as long as possible. Well, that time came. So...I have used this place for a couple of years. Despite always being unable to find me in the system, it's usually pretty easy going. Today I arrive for an appointment I scheduled for Botox. They had two giant candles burning that were so oppressive. I couldn't breath and started coughing (i have an allergy to strong smells.) I stood outside for 25 minutes waiting and then finally was brought back to the room to be told they don't carry Botox and need to order in advance. I'm very much a conscious of other people and their time kind of person all of this was disrespectful and I still smell like the candle after being I the building for 5-7 mins. Sad. read more

TLDR, the price is right, but the pain far more than expected. I'm a feminist but... I find myself purchasing expensive and painful skincare treatments. Lol. So here's the thing-- I keep going here for various treatments because the price is right, especially with some of their monthly deals. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The idea of never having to shave my legs again was very appealing, so I went for it when there was a 60% off deal for laser hair removal. What I was not mentally prepared for was the degree of pain associated with laser hair removal. The internet says it feels like snapping your skin with a rubber band. That is a lie. The internet also tells me that some establishments provide numbing creams for laser hair removal, so that it is less, well, painful. There are no numbing creams, or pain relief here. I may be somewhat of a wimp, but for context, I found the pain of laser hair removal to be similar to that of getting a large tattoo on my rib cage. So, considerably more pain than a rubber band (i.e., I was panic sweating and shuddering while being blasted by the laser, while ineffectively telling myself to just deep breathe through the pain). I've had 5 laser hair removal treatments at this point and have what I might, somewhat non-scientifically, describe as ~70% reduction in leg hair. So, really no regrets in terms of the outcome, although I imagine there will be remaining hair after the 6th treatment. I also tried the Ultherapy, which was even more painful than the laser hair removal (I'd say twice as painful as getting a tattoo). Again, no pain relief provided--they suggested taking Tylenol beforehand. The interwebs again tells me that some providers of Ultherapy provide pain relief (numbing creams, or prescription pills). I really wish there had been some type of numbing cream, or something. With this one, the only thing that stopped me from stopping the treatment was that I had already paid and did not want to lose my money. It was really painful. So, if you have a low pain threshold (or maybe even if you don't) consider whether you are willing to endure this amount of physical pain for beauty... But (!), if you are cheap like me and willing to endure some pain in the name of beauty, I say go for it. read more
