~Damaged my nails, caused pain~ I went in about 2 weeks ago looking for a gel mani/pedi. I had gel on my toenails so they started by removing gel. An older gentleman used a drill machine for the removal and filed/buffed my nails down to a painful level. I tried to let a few workers there know but everyone seemed essentially unbothered. Blood pooled under 2 of the nails. I have been taking care of my nails myself carefully since then, while it grows out. I wasn't going to post anything but I don't want this happening to anyone else. I got a dip manicure here 10 days ago. The manicure did not last. Two nails popped off four days after so I went in to get them fixed. The man who did my nails argued with me about fixing the nails and was not happy he had to do so. The fixed nails looked horrible and then two days later, two more nails snapped off so low that my fingers were bleeding. I went to another salon to fix my nails and the process took almost two hours since the nails were so poorly done. In terms of customer experience, the man who works there vapes inside the shop while he's doing nails despite a mask mandate. He is also rude and insulting. If you go to him, don't try to crack jokes. He's rough with your nails and rushes through the job. Theresa is nice..and they have a lot of colors...if anyone's looking for a silver lining. read more

I got a young gentleman to do my acrylic nails. And quite frankly, I'm not too happy. The shape and size of the nails were fine but the man completely neglected my cuticles at all costs! Never pushed them back, never cut them, nothing. Because of that neglect, I now have to be putting on cuticle oil on a lot more often just to keep it from looking crusty. Now because my cuticles were neglected they look like I've had the nails for 2-3 weeks and it hasn't even been 48 hours. I'm going to have to get a refill in a few days because of this! Now i have to spend even more money for no reason. Plus he was rough and heavy handed when it came to manually filing my nails. I left with my left hand feeling bruised. Plus he Didn't get the all the shine off my natural nails with the electric filer knowing that a dry nail is what keeps the acrylic attached to the natural nail a lot longer, if not then you will have lifting and the nail will come off a lot quicker. I've come here a few times and really liked the nails. They lasted a long time and looked really good. The most recent time I went they came out so bad. Before I even left I had four nails redone because I didn't like them and they were Clearly done incorrectly. After a few days I went to take a snap chat of my nails and when I looked at the video before sending it I notice a HAIR that is 100% not mine was sealed in under the top coat!!!!!!! I was horrified and legit gagged. I called and asked if I could come back and have them redone and said I was very unhappy with the nails. she said yes come in an hour. I go. Wait a while. And then she brings me to the chair and starts to file the gel off. After starting the first nail she stops and goes can you come back later? This is going to take a long time. I'm like well that's why I called before coming in and explained that I need them redone. She went back and forth with me for a while telling me to come back tomorrow. And finally she agreed to let me come back in about two hours (thank god I did not have plans). Now I am supposed to go home and come back to get them fixed. This is a local nail shop,about a blick awat from Forrest hills, there are a few foot spa's and one of the most convenient things is that if you get a gel manicure they have a dual dryer, the staff is friendly-ish and the service turn around time is fairly quick, the only thing I notice was they don't give massages after the pedicure. read more

I went there for the first time, just for a refill and color change on my feet .. and at first things were okay. I waited an hour to be serviced, but I thought I'd be satisfied. This was not the case. After spending two hours in this establishment I thought everything went well until the next day when one of my nails began to lift - FROM THE CUTICLE. It had been less than 24 hours and my nails looked like I needed a refill all over again. Which clearly meant they were not done properly or carefully. Not to mention, they were pretty pricey $$! I'm very picky when it comes to my nails and my acrylics look great and I have no complaints a day later. I'm the kind of person who always tries new places - giving them benefit of the doubt and hoping for a good experience. This time it did not work out. I came in after work and it was an awful time. On a technical level the regular mani pedi was subpar: cold water every time, bleeding from the cuticle clippers, and filing the tips of my fingers. The staff was not talkative which was fine but when they did communicate it was highly dismissive and borderline rude. I really hope it was just the staff having a bad day, but it seems hit or miss based on the other reviews. I really hope it was a one off bad experience, but for me it was bad enough that I will not be returning. Would not ever recommend to a friend. read more

For a reliable mani-pedi in the area this is a great place to go. 30$ isn't bad for a decent quality job. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly and efficient. My feet are soft and smooth and covered in pretty pink polish! The decor is a little ridiculous with the big neon ads straight out of the 80s. I'm really pleased with the full set of acrylics that I got from Nails 2000. They're literally right around the corner from my house and I hadn't had a set in almost 6 months, so I figured it was time for another one. $20 for a full set, $12 for a fill, and one of the quickest and best nail jobs I've had since leaving Florida. The nail tech that did my nails (her name escapes me) got the length, shape and thickness perfect with only the slightest bit of direction for me. First off if your coming to get your nails done and feel as if your money is being applied this is the place. Customer service is pleasant, they greet you but conversation at a minimum and if you want to relax and not chat then that's perfect. But if your coming to get your nails done, on a budget, care about hygiene (hope so) and are not picky on bougie look of a place then this is the place, the young women who did my nails was amazing a regular mani/pedi was done as if it was a deluxe, I can only imagine how that is. But for $32 it was the GREATEST MANI/PEDI I have received. I recommend coming here either when it opens or miday BC waiting awhile can happen, they take there time but technicians are not in large numbers. read more

Beware! I found Nails 2000 to be filthy! From the cobwebs and everything coated in dust to the Covid protector shield spattered with I'm not sure what. A young man did my dip nails. I had the same experience as another reviewer who said "The staff was not talkative which was fine but when they did communicate it was highly dismissive and borderline rude." The man doing my nails was in the middle of assembling a piece of furniture which he would do in between my nails. He also drank his ice coffee (wiping his mouth with his hand) scrolling through his phone and VAPING during my session! Yes, took his mask off and vaped. This was my first visit and was not told when making my appt that it was cash only. I was charged a $2 fee for using a credit card! The entire time there was a TV blaring a sports special show. I went to this shop for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, ended trying the dipped powder Mani, nails turned out ok. I was then switched off to the gentleman who's balding to do my pedicure. But my gel manicure started peeling after a day, and my cuticles were mutilated by the manicurist (who I really liked). I came in an hour before closing and they didn't get to me until 45 minutes later. The problem was they only had two people working there and all the people before me were getting gel nails AND pedicures so it was taking forever. When he was doing my cuticles, he was very forceful and grabbed my fingers to the point where it hurt. And I also left with two bloody cuticles. OW! When i arrived they weren't very welcoming. There was also only 2 people one for pedicures and one man who does nails. They also over price their customers. They tried to charge me almost 60 dollars for a full set with gel and coffin. A pedicure with gel was 40 dollars. That is ridiculous. He then proceeds to tell me he doesn't make the prices and i can go somewhere else. While he continued to do my service he had an attitude and was rude with my friend also. So far, this salon has the cheapest Shellac manicure I have found in Boston ($25 as opposed to the usual $30-35), but it's not worth the time. I arrived around 4:30 and I was told that there would be a wait, which was fine, and I sat down for my manicure shortly before 5:00. I didn't leave the salon until 6:45. It took the man who did my nails (I forget his name) nearly TWO HOURS to do a Shellac manicure, which shouldn't take more than 45 minutes. He also had shaky hands and kept laughing at random points during my manicure, in addition to admonishing me for my bad cuticles. If saving the $10 is worth two hours of awkwardness and cuticle-shame, Nails 2000 is for you. read more
