Also, I always ask for square in which I get rounded square. At this point I'm convinced ppl are just going to do what they want despite what you ask. I was seen right away, it's a cute shop. Tons of polish colors to choose from. Nancy did my nails and she was so nice and she did hear me out. I have big nail beds so some nail techs never paint my whole nail. When I told her she was happy to fix it and was cool about it. They don't take tips on the card which I felt bad about, cause I wanted to tip her. I even asked that they charge me more but they don't do that. I wasn't going to pay 5$ to take cash out to tip her tho, but they have an ATM. I do have to say this woman was in there getting a pedicure that not only looked really good but smelled nice too. Her nails looked nice too but they appeared to be acrylics. I got a gel manicure, that could be the difference. The massage chairs look incredible. Let's see how this manicure sets, I'm willing to give it another go.

Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the premium prices being charged. If you're positioning yourself as a luxury salon, the entire customer experience should reflect that. The salon floor had nail clippings scattered around, which made the space feel unclean, and the restroom toilet was not working during my visit. The salon was very busy, so there was a long wait between my manicure and pedicure. While I understand that delays can happen, I was simply left sitting without any communication or updates. A quick explanation or estimate of the wait would have gone a long way. It also seemed that the salon could benefit from stronger management and additional support staff. The technicians appeared focused on providing services, but there didn't seem to be anyone dedicated to keeping the salon clean, assisting customers, or ensuring that operations ran smoothly. The quality of the manicure and pedicure is why I'm giving this salon a positive review overall. However, improving cleanliness, communication, and customer service would make the experience much more consistent with the prices they charge.

I've moved all over the country for medical training and regularly gotten gel manicures for years. As a result, I've probably tried dozens of nail salons in 3 states in the last decade but I've never found a better gel manicure than Victoria's at Teke's. I routinely went to her for manicures during my time as a resident at MGH, which is conveniently located near Teke's. Her manicures are PERFECT and METICULOUS!! There are never bubbles or bumps in the polish and I never had a nail chip or the polish lift/peel even after 4+ weeks!! The services are also very reasonably priced at $36 for a gel manicure in downtown Boston. I'll be honest, I delayed writing this review because I was gatekeeping Victoria. But I just moved away from Boston and I'm ready to share her incredible talent with the world. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and book a manicure with Victoria at Teke's. I will add that the other staff at Teke's is hit or miss on service quality. Most of the other nail techs can do a reasonable gel manicure for the $36 price. In my years of going to Teke's, I had 1-2 manicures from other nail techs that were objectively bad. So, I would recommend waiting to get an appointment with Victoria if you're going to try Teke's. Always call in advance, her schedule can be pretty busy!

She then put on two coats of clear topcoat but did not use a gel lamp to cure the topcoat. As I got up to leave, I realized my nails were sticky. After conversing with her boss, she told me to sit down again, and she re-filed (painfully) my nails down to the SNS part, eliminating the incorrect top coat. She then proceeded to be even rougher with my nails, and sprayed alcohol on them, which made me yank my hand away in pain. After all that, my nails are filed so poorly, one is chipped, and my hands HURT. This nail experience was the worst of my life. The space is stuffy, boiling hot, and grimy.
