A tech that helped me with my nails, she was not well trained on the products which was Dazzle dry polishes though they also used in their salon and on top of that a cashier who is probably an owner that knowledgeable about the product but was talking rudely to me and raising his voice at me. This is my first time and last time here. I definitely do not recommend Tom whose massages are so light that you do not feel a thing. He and the manager said the mani pedi would be around 45m-1hr, but it was 2 1/2 and left me almost tears. They had to use little stones to cover up ugly grey bubbles and never textured that were on almost every single fingernail and toenail. My toenails look like Chiclets and the stones that they glued on lasted less than three hours. I couldn't emphasize enough that the services were quite shady and unprofessional. My boyfriend paid and tipped in advance, and they had the audacity to say that he did not tip yet. Please don't come here!! read more

I also had a full set of acrylics done with gel that I am really happy with. The price point is right where it should be. 4 instead of 5 stars because it was my first time and it would have been nice if the technicians who did my nails had introduced themselves and asked me my name at least. Went here for acrylics three times. During my second appointment, the technician used a dremel and filed my nails down so much that when I came back for a fill and got a french, the tech had to use a more opaque pink to cover the rings of fire from the damage. This tech then referenced someone "messing up my nails" not realizing I had had them done there previously. When I came in the final time to get my nails soaked off and complained of damage, the soak-off took her dremeling almost all of the product off, 5 applications of acetone, AND use of a nail file five times to remove. It was extremely gluey and I do believe it was MMA (an illegal substance). Then the person at checkout had the nerve to tell me my ridged, paper thin nails with red half moons on them were "not damaged" and charged me extra for the soak off. read more

Tuesday morning I called City Nails booking an appt with "Kate" for later that day. I arrived to find out there was no Kate. Come to find out I was referencing someone from a different salon I saw on Yelp that was I deciding btwn when I placed the call. Interestingly I wasn't corrected when I made the appt. NAIL REVIEW: Tony, a more mature gentleman did a great job at my almond shaped dip manicure with my guidance. It was $68 pre tip. Took about an hour 20 mins. Initially he seemed to take offense that I was expressing exactly what I like and asking questions but a young man (may have been the manager) helped close the language gap. By the end he was super patient and kept checking in to make sure I was satisfied. SALON REVIEW: Clean, spacious, modern, bright, working TVs/music, pedi chairs & mani areas well spaced. I would recommend if you're in the area. PARKING: They have a small shared parking lot but it was full so I parked at a meter. Not sure yet if this new place/person but I'll def be back. It's clean and the staff is welcoming and there were two TVs on, with one showing something about beaches and the other showing animals that were friends. Moreover, they pressure you to rebook and 'subscribe' for a 10% discount on all services... that they would supposedly give to you for free if you simply rebook. Anyone else find that a bit odd? Not only was the 10% off Mon-Thursday from open-3 not honored, but the promise to accept credit and debit cards was *also* not honored!! I was asked to pay venmo or cash... and use the friends and family setting on Venmo. If it isn't clear, this salon is very frustrating (and sketchy) on the admin side of things. All that said, my nail tech, Chien, did a wonderful job with my full set with gel. I would love to see her again, just not at this location with this salon over her!!!! read more

Just came in for a simple pedicure. Out of town and visiting my Aunt. She recommended this place to me and so far so goods the shop is extremely clean to include the restroom. There's plenty of employees too so when I came in I was seated within minutes. It didn't take long for the technician to finish. I'm going to say about 20-25 mins which worked for me because I like short, sweet and simple. I also got a manicure the next day and it looks great. I've been here 5-6 times and it is incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes I've had wonderful techs who take their time and are very nice. Other times I've been rushed and gotten pretty poor work on my nails. I made a reservation for gel pedicure and manicure this past weekend and they made me wait almost 40 minutes. I only had time for the pedicure. There was no excuse and no apology for the incredibly long wait despite my reservation. Also, Michelle, the manager had a yelling match with another customer who didn't like her nails. The entire situation was incredibly uncomfortable and not handled professionally. Nice Salon on Broadway. Called for an appt and was able to be seen in 20 minutes with no wait for a gel manicure. Granted it was a Thursday and early afternoon. Salon is on the smaller side. Only 3 tables and three pedicure chairs. The nail station tables are very small and very uncomfortable. There is little to no room for the client chair to move as it will bang against the wall. The chairs appeared to be smaller than the large black ones commonly used. I was very uncomfortable the entire time as the armrests on the chair are pretty low. The salon is clean. Looks pretty sterile actually. They don't have anything on the nail tables. No bottles of polish, brushes, files. Nothing. They did bring out a cuticle pusher and clipper from the back in a sterile package. Everything is done at the nail station, even washing your hands. They dip your hands in the same bowl of now cold water that was used to soak your hands when they start. No getting up to wash your hands. Not too hygienic if you ask me. The nail tech was nice and was uncommonly chatty. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the mood that day (I'm usually very social). She did a nice job, and asked if I liked them several times as she went along. Cost was $29 and they give you a punch card to earn a free manicure or save $$. I can't recall what it was for. Overall, I would go back since they are down the street from my house and job. Credit cards are accepted, and you can tip on the card. However, they prefer cash for tips. read more

In town visiting and needed a little pampering so I went for a pedi here. First time. Cute little space. Decent variety of colors. No wait which was nice because I didn't call ahead. Asked for a pedi. They have quick pedi for $22 or Spa for $27. She didn't ask which just did a pedi and the price was a surprise at the end. Too gentle for me. I had to ask her to really scrub after she went over my feet for 2 seconds delicately. Still wasn't enough but oh well, I'll go to my regular salon when I get back to Florida. So, I've reviewed before but yesterday's service was so exceptional that I had to do it again! I walked in for a gel mani and deluxe pedi. I usually always book an appointment with Michelle but this time, I decided I'd just walk in. Well, it was super busy and I ended up with another manicurist - which is fine. This girl had big glasses and was very pretty. She speaks English and is very precise. My only complaint is that when taking off the gel polish, she didn't let the acetone sit long enough to take all of the gel off so she kinda just scrapped my toenails dry. She started off my manicure and I said I wanted them short and she cut them super short. But that's not her fault. It's mine. I should've said I like them short but not that short. Then, the painting part. Michelle came over to paint my nails and as always, she did exceptional. I showed her a picture of the nail design I wanted and she made it happen (as she always does). Michelle is also very precise too. She'll start painting your nails sometimes and notice a cuticle that wasn't cut properly and she'll go back and fix it. I've come from many salons and most salons start painting, notice a flaw and say "screw it" and continue. Not Michelle. So, after my service, I paid and the receptionist took a picture of my nails. Now here comes the exceptional part... I get a Facebook message from michelle last night saying she was looking over my nail design last night and noticed she missed a spot. She told me to come in and shed fix it. Of course I took her up on it. But if she didn't message me, I wouldn't have noticed the tiny detail she missed. This is why this salon is my number one spot to go to. I've been coming here for months and now, I'll never stop. Michelle really cares about her clients and she delivers excellent service (as mentioned above). She is the only one I'll let touch my nails. So, Michelle, thank you for being such an amazing person and for delivering such excellent customer service! My mother and I came to City Nails today. We came for Tony and Amy who worked in a Woburn salon and have known them for 20 years. City Nails is in a very convenient location on Broadway. Parking is on the side street before light in a parking lot. The inside is brand new and very clean and relaxing. Amy does the best pedicure as always. Tony did the best gel manicure for me a dip powder with gel for my mom. Everyone is so nice here. They have many colors to choose including gel and dip. A very relaxing experience. read more

The place is neat and clean people were nice the toes were painted nicely but the heel of my foot was not scrubbed the way it should have been. I know they saw how the heel looks and feels once they are " done " scrubbing. They need to understand some people's feet need more maintenance than others. They should have used a better tool or scrubbed harder. I've gotten better done elsewhere for less than 29 dollars. First and last time thanks but no thanks. read more

Went on a Sunday on LDW. Requested the appt via yelp last night, didn't even realize she responded within ten minutes until today. Amazingly convenient. Good wide selection of polish for gel. I don't know my manicurists name (she didn't introduce herself, she had lighter brown highlighted hair) but she was incredible. She does not talk during (which I appreciate) and is very focused on what she was doing. She does a lot of coats which I think lasts much longer. She has really good technique - usually the cuticle clipping hurts me but I didn't feel her at all, and she covered every bit of my nail, no missing spots. She listened to every edit I had for the design, and if you ask me it's the best gel manicure I've gotten in the Boston area. only 37$ for a gel mani with a design on both thumbs. She also got me a water bottle for free (upon request) because she could tell I was trying not to cough. Definitely coming back! read more

They also had at least a hundred different nail art designs to choose from -- if that's more your thing. Saw great reviews for Michelle at City Nails so I made an appt and I'm so glad I did! They were very flexible getting me in (as I had to change my appt time last minute) and Michelle was very fast!! She did my nails the way I like them THE FIRST TIME! I always get very short acrylics, I like them to look like a gel manicure. Most techs make them too long and too square (I always ask for square round) Michelle listened and did exactly what I asked! They also had so many designs and gel colors to choose from. I already have future designs picked out. She takes her time and is a perfectionist with the polish and the acrylic. She doesn't leave any crust or polish around the nail or cuticle. My only gripe was there's street parking and you have to pay a meter. There may be other parking options that I will explore on my second visit. Michelle got me in and out in about 45 mins so I didn't have to feed my meter again which was nice.
