I got "emergency" nails done here for a wedding and the host accommodated me on short notice as my train came in later than expected. The ladies who did my mani and pedi were really wonderful - Hannah and Nancy. Both very careful and thorough - Nancy especially took such great care to clean up my feet which badly needed it. It wasn't a terrible experience but not so much to my liking. I keep finding these places that insist on shorting my nails while I am trying to let them grow. Also, I always ask for square in which I get rounded square. At this point I'm convinced ppl are just going to do what they want despite what you ask. I was seen right away, it's a cute shop. Tons of polish colors to choose from. Nancy did my nails and she was so nice and she did hear me out. I have big nail beds so some nail techs never paint my whole nail. When I told her she was happy to fix it and was cool about it. They don't take tips on the card which I felt bad about, cause I wanted to tip her. I even asked that they charge me more but they don't do that. I wasn't going to pay 5$ to take cash out to tip her tho, but they have an ATM. I do have to say this woman was in there getting a pedicure that not only looked really good but smelled nice too. Her nails looked nice too but they appeared to be acrylics. I go there every 4 weeks for a gel manicure and pedicure. I make an appointment ahead of time and never have to wait. The technicians are very experienced, the salon is clean. They also have a card that you get a discount after a certain number of pedicure/manicures. I usually pay cash. I highly recommend this salon. read more

Sunny Nails accepts walk-ins and credit cards (min $10), which I appreciate. The cost for a manicure is $15, which is very good (+ $5 for 10-day nail polish-- OPI Infinite Shine) and $30 for a pedicure, which is okay. It's not the best service I've ever had, customer-service-wise or service-wise, but it's pretty good. My only complaint for the manicure is that they cut a little too much/deeply into the cuticles so it stung afterward when I used hand sanitizer, etc. They have lots of COVID precautions, including staff and customers wearing masks, having you sign a small slip of paper acknowledging COVID safety, displays that everyone on staff has been through COVID safety training, and COVID infographics lining the walls. They also have plexiglass separating each technician from the customer at manicure and pedicure stations. I would give either 3 or 4 stars, but considering they are the only nail place on Mass Ave in Central, and their prices are reasonable, I'll probably be back. read more

this is the best pedicure I have received in years, for almost half the price. the gentle attention to detail provided by the woman who worked on my feet has resulted in their looking better than they have since I was in my 20s. every single aspect of my feet was well cared for. the color selection available was extensive, and there was no effort to upsell me to fancier products or procedures (though gel and higher end polish are available). I'm so stoked to have my toenails ready for an upcoming wedding!!! the salon itself is not in one of those fancy renovated spaces and there is no spa environment. it's an older space, brightly lit, and shows a bit of superficial wear and tear. but everything that has anything to do with nails and grooming is extremely clean and sanitary. the people working here are experts and total professionals who are happy to go above and beyond. what a great experience, I'm so happy to have moved nearby!!!! read more

First, the technician just cut my nails without asking how long or what shape I wanted. She then was so aggressive with my cuticles that I left still bleeding from one finger. Went here on a girl date to get a mani and pedi. They have set up the place to be very covid safe. Me and my friend were able to chat while we were sitting in the massage chairs and getting pedicures. Although the chairs were close, I felt very safe with mask rules and additional clear panels. The manis were done separately at different stations. Ms. Nga who did my mani was extremely talented. She was meticulous, she got the shape I wanted spot on and she was very thoughtful. Usually Careful and meticulous doesn't go with speed, but I could tell Ms. Nga was very talented and was quick and did my nails exactly how I wanted them. No cracks, gel polish went on evenly on every mail, no gaps, perfectly shaped, and 3 coats. Im very happy with my mani! Thank you Ms. Nga! Best manicure I have ever had. The manicurist used the color I asked for and then tried a light, glitter color on one nail. I loved it and she did all of my nails with the second glitter coat. Had an 'okay' experience at this nail salon. The woman who did my pedicure was great. Friendly and thorough. The woman who did my manicure, however, was not very kind, was rough with the manicure tools, and totally mismatched the colors. She set out to find a gel color that would match my pedicure color. My manicure is shades lighter than my pedicure which, for someone who likes it to match, is disappointing. I also felt a burning sensation on my cuticles several times and would pull my hand back, to which there was no response. No "sorry". Nothing. After reading everyone's testimonies, I decided to take the safe route and stick with a pedicure. I'm a maroon or fire engine red polish kinda gal, but subconsciously I think the whole sunny thing grabbed me because I decided to go with a bold, school bus yellow. Looking around, the place seemed clean, but basic. I chose a massage chair and sat down. The water had salts in it, and it felt so good to soak. Then for the first time an Asian man sporting a righteous mullet (I guess it was John) was my nail tech. I didn't find it to be creepy at all, and rather liked his strong hands and long strokes. I just felt bad I didn't shave my legs that morning. It was a very reasonable $25, and cash tip as they don't allow you to so on your card. No surprise if I turn into a regular. read more

I had an overall good experience here. Regular manicures are $10 and pedicures are $25. They have essie and opi nail polish (read: quality) and they take care of you. It's been three days and my nails still look great-no chips or bubbles. Bueno, bonito, y barato. I will be back. I learned about Sunny's while reading about nail art. Apparently this is one if the few places in Boston that do nail designs. You have to ask for it specifically and the day I went I was too lazy to really think about what design I wanted so I didn't get any. Next time I'll take photos of the sample designs and post them here in case anyone wants to think ahead. I don't know what other people were saying about there not being a waiting area. I got there unannounced and waited half an hour. Some people were told to come back at a certain time and directed to near by coffee houses. There are several chairs and anyone who has not waited at a manicure station before apparently has not been to a salon on NYC (or anywhere really). Not a fan of the TV playing daytime soaps and Family Feud. Made it difficult for me to read. The mani+pedi was good. I had a male technician (a first for me) and he did a great job. I'm not a fan of small talk so I was perfectly happy without having to answer any questions about what I do (oh a scientist? I could never do science). Their default style is slightly rounded nails and polish that doesn't to all the way to the cuticle so make sure to specify if you want anything different. Massage chairs and leg massages are a plus. As is the location so I'll definitely be back. read more

I came in pretty early in the morning as a walk-in and lucked out with a free nail technician. This was only my second gel manicure, the first I had done somewhere else and was horrible, it started coming off in the first week somehow and was very rushed. This was the complete opposite! I wanted a modern French tip gel manicure, and the lady who helped me out, I'm sorry I don't know her name, but she did it beautifully. All of the widths are equal and perfect on every finger, and it was very cheap, too- only $30 for the set, plus tip! I'm hoping it lasts longer, I'd be happy to come back. read more

I came here with two friends, and all three of us had bad experiences. One friend got a gel manicure that started chipping the next day. Another friend's cuticles were damaged by cutting too much off, and it took her weeks to fully heal. I got a pedicure and one of my toenails was cut too short which led to a painful ingrown toenail. I paid her the 5 dollars and she was upset and was ripping the tips off digging underneath with another press on nail. I told her you are hurting me . I paid you to remove them not to hurt me. She said I DONT CARE I DONT CARE. She ripped the nails off and sent me out the door without removing the glue or cleaning my fingers nails. She also ruined my real nails. She filed them down so much that the natural nail and cuticles are damaged. Stay away from this place they will charge you more money because you are not a regular client. I hate giving this place a bad review, especially because I've been going here since I was in high school, but i was so disappointed i didn't even tip the girl (which is unheard of for me). The girl who did my nails has done them before, and she always has a stank attitude like she'd rather be somewhere else. I requested a spa manicure- she put little to no effort in filing my nails, massaged my arms for less than two minutes, and wouldn't even put a towel down on the station so I could feel all the nail bits that she had filed off on my arms!! This place is so close to my house but I unfortunately refuse to go here. Every time I walk in, they are extremely rude.

Probably my worst pedi experience ever. For 3 reasons. First I called to make an appointment for pedicure with design. This was confirmed. However in the middle of the pedicure, she told me that they have no time to draw flowers for me-! This type of "whimsical" behavior is not professional. Second, my nail was not nicely painted. Many spots protruded out. The place is also dingy. I didn't not see them open the individually packed tools, which is a huge health and sanitation concern. I typically tolerate a lot with nail salons as they are less regulated or trained in comparison to other trades such as hair dresser.
