Fiancée calls me crying that her eyebrows are ruined. Requested a touch up and maintain natural arch. They took off way too much, flattening the shape of her eyebrows and made them too thin. Now she's SOL for her work trip next week and will have to make do. She's been all over north/south shore, in/out of the city for eyebrows and never had an issue until now. Always requested a touch up as she has beautiful thick eyebrows and likes the natural shape of them. Clearly they were too rough and didn't listen to anything she asked for. I was in the area, saw it was open and walked in after I saw that Yelp reviews were pretty good. There was a modest wait with 2 women in front of me, and it is a small sitting area with a small 3 seater couch and some chairs (It would be uncomfortable to wait if there are a lot of people there) . There was only 1 artist working on a weekend evening with an observer in training of some sort. 2 treatment chairs were there so assuming some days there could be 2 clients at the same time. The service was very friendly and the results were great for eyebrows! $15 was reasonable and I used a Yelp check in offer $2 off. I was offered aloe but pleased that there was no redness afterwards. They ask customers to use a digital console to check in and also pay - easy to do everything on credit card including tip. Recommend! read more

This was my first time threading. I've always done waxing or plucking previously. However, waxing in the area can be $25-$40 and gets expensive fast! So I was willing to try threading at half the cost. I was nervous trusting someone new with my brows. Also I heard it was much more painful than waxing. I would disagree it wasn't anymore painful. I went in at 11am in a Friday and there was no line. The girl who did my brows was very nice. I asked to get my eyebrows cleaned up and overall I'd say she did a good job. I always go either here or their Downtown location to get my brows done. Honestly, it's the only place I trust. I always walk in and never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes and their locations are super convenient for me. The main reason I get my brows threaded is because they are a little hard for me to manage on my own at home by just simply plucking. It doesn't get the job done for me. However the friendly ladies at Boston Threading get it done, no hassle whatsoever, and I am always happy with the result. They've never arched my brows too high or taken off too much hair for my liking. They just follow the natural shape of my brow, only cleaning up the stray hairs. And that's what I need! I've recommended this place to friends who also love it. Generally threading shouldn't be painless but shouldn't leave bumps and ripped skin areas (like waxing often does). To get your eyebrows done but be left with tiny little cuts all along the area leaves a very painful and tender area. Putting makeup on and off it generally becomes a painful experience as well as cleaning your face or using any kinds of toner. My picture doesn't quite do it justice but it truly is almost entirely red underneath and raised with speckled cuts all along my brow. My eyebrow itself looks fine as far as shape goes, I just feel like the same amount of cuts and pain could have come from myself with tweezers. read more

The one downside is that they're a bit pricey compared to other threading salons. We're definitely paying for the convenience of Newbury Street. The women who work in the salon are all very attentive, professional, and friendly, and they're very efficient (if you're going in for eyebrow threading only, you can typically be in and out within 10 minutes). My friend and I went to Boston Threading for the first time tonight. We arrived at the same time as a man and woman, and the woman was getting her eyebrows and upper lip done at the same time as my friend while the man waited. I did not have an appointment, so I was waiting as well. These two customers proceeded to yell at both employees and caused a scene telling the employees they had messed up her eyebrows and ruined her skin while claiming to be a doctor and trying to assert leverage, making both the employees and my friend and I extremely uncomfortable. The employees working were Binita and Surja, and they handled the situation phenomenally well, even as the two customers continued to yell at them and insult them. They apologized profusely to my friend and I even though we assured them they did nothing wrong, and they did an amazing job on both our eyebrows. We will definitely return here! read more

Yes! I'm so thrilled Boston Threading opened this location. The Downtown Crossing location was my go-to place for my brows. Yesterday, I actually planned to trek to the Downtown location (a whole three train stops away, ugh! #bostoncommuterproblems) when I noticed this location on Yelp. Score! I went right after work (around 5 pm) and the Newbury St. location wasn't busy at all. I was able to walk in, get my brows done, and walk out in about 15 minutes. That's insane! The process was painless and the woman who took care of my brows was really nice and most importantly, she did a great job. I've had instances where I've walked out of a place with my brows destroyed (you bet there's a picture floating around on Yelp for that establishment with my brows looking really uneven #embarrassing). Luckily, I've never had a problem with Boston Threading. I really recommend this place (and their DTX location) for your brow needs! Also, they have a Yelp deal for checking in. I was so scared to get my eyebrows threaded since my eyebrows are relatively sparse anyways; however, Boston Threading made me feel so welcome and relaxed about the entire process. Afterwards, my eyebrows looked SO clean (I didn't know if threading would be very effective on me). Anjali did a touch-up on my brows, which I hadn't let anybody other than my normal gal in San Francisco for 10 years. I was nervous that she would do more than just "clean them up," as I'd requested. She was kind and assured me that she would be careful. And indeed she was. She followed the line that my brow stylist had created. Plus, she was very very gentle with the thread, so there was little to no pain. Should I find myself in Boston and in need of some brow clean-up, I'd definitely see Anjali again. I come here regularly, the service is always good but the threading quality varies each time. Most trips have been good. I have thin eyebrows that don't grow back quickly, so I always tell them "not too thin, not too arched". This generally produces satisfying results, but sometimes it's still too thin. Once the lady filled in my eyebrows for me afterwards, and they looked SO GOOD, but this hasn't happened any other time.
