I originally got lost trying to find this location, but just walk into the Boston Jewelry Exchange Building and take the elevator to the second floor! You can look up from the street to see it to know you've found the right place. I love this chain of threading places. They do a great quick job making sure my eyebrows are clean and kept. This location is just as clean and the service just as efficient. The workers rotate through the locations, so I recognized the two women working from my usual location. This location is a little more expensive than the Brighton location ($15), but if I needed my brows done downtown I would definitely go here. 3 1/2 Stars I've been here 3-4 times, and my most recent time, I got a cut...which has never happened when I did eyebrow threading at my normal place at the mall......So I don't know how I feel about that. It's a very convenient location which is why I have been frequenting this place the last few months. The eyebrows look fine but the price is higher. If you use the yelp check-in, it knocks it from $15 to $13 and then you tip like $2 so it's back to $15. The girls are very nice but I don't like getting cuts. I'll only come here if I really don't have time to trek out to my normal place. Am I the only one they didn't offer a reward card that i'm reading about? :( read more

Be prepared to wait in a small cramped room usually with only 1 or 2 people working. Boston threading has other locations but this is by far the best location. I use to only go to a couple people here ok certain days but actually realized everyone at the Washington location does a great job every time. The ladies here listen to you. When I said I do not want thin brows, I mean it and they do just a clean up which is exactly What I want. FYI- you could pay with card. Check in on yelp and they take $2 off. They also have a stamp card you can ask them about- every time you come present your stamp card at check out and on your 10th one it's free. read more

Sigh... oh boy... so much has changed *sad face* I remember back when I first stumbled upon a threading place in Brighton. It was the summer of 2014. I had only been getting threading on my upper lips. A super sweet, amicable, and soft-spoken lady suggested I get my eye brows threaded. Let me tell you something, I've NEVER ever done anything to my eyebrows--no waxing, shaving, or make up on my brows. I've been told multiple times that I've been gifted with just the right amount of brow hair (say what), so I suppose I'm even more cautious. Anyhow, the woman was gentle and convincing enough for me to take a leap of faith. That's how I fell in love with Ranju. Seriously. She's the only person that makes threading absolutely painless. I have very sensitive Asian skin, and most people tend to make my skin extremely red and itchy after threading, but not ranju! Back to the real deal... so... I hadn't seen Ranju in over two years as I have moved to NYC. During my visit to Boston, I was shocked (and confused) that there were multiple Boston threading locations. When I called I found out that Ranju wasn't working in any of the locations on Monday. Anyhow, that being my last night in Boston, I figured I shouldn't be so picky--after all, they're all coworkers of Ranju's (I'm not sure if Ranju is the owner?) Either way, big mistake. Like an earlier reviewer mentioned, I had nicks on my eyebrow. I thought I was being overly sensitive during the procedure, but it stung nonstop, and it still hurts two days later. And guess what, started bleeding! Besides the fact that the brows were done much thinner than I had wanted to, I am not happy that she left a mark on my face. I've always heard about the benefits of threading, but I honestly never really gave them much thought -- I mean, I've always had my brows waxed and it's always worked for me. Then Boston Threading got to me and now I see the light. My friend is a threading advocate and wanted to find a new threading salon here in Boston; so I went with her to check out Boston Threading. They were a little hard to find -- we walked into the wrong Diamond Exchange Building. For all you other future newbies, the door to the building is directly across from that giant antique clock-post. Go up to the second floor, take a right, and then take another right. They're located to the left at the end of the hall. The inside is pretty small -- there are three chairs, a sofa, and a cash register. It's bright, clean, and the ladies there are awesome. I wanted to get my eyebrows and upper lip done, and Ranju was the perfect match for me. She was very clear with her instructions and was super kind. She also finished in like...15 minutes and walked me through what my brows looked like and everything. It also didn't hurt for me at all. In the end, with the Yelp check-in deal, I paid $23 and she said it would last three weeks! So far, they're holding up really well and I'll definitely come in again. I didn't read any reviews before going and missed out on the Groupon (next time), but honestly, maybe I've been lax in looking for a deal lately, $15.00 doesn't seem too steep to me. It's a price I'll gladly pay to not have my brows effed up. Cause they don't grow back right when that happens. Plus, I don't particularly like having skin pulled off with the hair and waxing always leaves open pores that always, ALWAYS result in pimples. So anyway, threading. Went in, didn't call ahead, sat right in a chair, no wait and came away with some bomb.com eyebrows. She cleaned them up, evened them out and made me look presentable again. I did think there were a couple times when the thread was rubbing across the bridge of my nose that she was going to open skin. I can report to ya'll that didn't happen, but don't be afraid to speak up when you're in the chair. I don't understand why people don't speak up if you are experiencing pain. Don't continue! Just tell them you need them to be a little more gentle and they happily oblige. I've been caught in that trap before...not saying something when it has been uncomfortable, and it's not worth the aftermath. Just speak up. I'm reserving a star for my next visit, but if things go as swimmingly as today, this will likely turn into a 5 star review. read more

I messaged on the app to get an appt. and the page owner replied to me within the hour. Turned out I wanted to be serviced by her so she let me know when she would be in the downtown location. I went and waited as she had other people specifically waiting for her. She has an eye for shape. My eyebrows look nice. She was quick, pleasant and precise. I go get my eyebrows done once a quarter or so just to upkeep and was fairly satisfied with my visit here. Unfortunately I think they are a bit too thin for me. I'm not used to seeing my eyebrows so "cleaned" up so there's a little shock factor. Still searching for my eyebrow guru. I filled my eyebrows a bit to show you how good the shape came out. I've been to Boston Threading in their Brighton location and this downtown location, for a total of 4 times. Each time I come out happy with cleaned up and sharp eyebrows. I have a slight scar on one eyebrow and they never have trouble accommodating for it. Their aloe lotion at the end is a great touch. All the ladies I have had were great, so I trust this place each time I go in. They have deals on groupon $10 for $15 and on yelp. The place seems very popular, even on a weekday, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. The ladies are so friendly and detailed. Absolutely deserve their 5 star review. read more

Why risk losing the amazing natural arch that you've worked so hard to grow when you can have perfectly groomed brows every time at Boston Threading? Located near the Downtown Crossing T stop on the 2nd floor of 333 Washington St (it's actually a little inconvenient for me to get to but I keep coming back). I usually come around lunch time or right after work around 4 pm. There's usually 2 customers or so already there -- the wait for walk-ins is usually 0 to 5 minutes. No need to bother specifying one threader over another; Every single person there is super skilled. Don't be shy to ask for tweaks if you want an adjustment. But almost always no adjustment is needed. Love my natural but refined eye brows after a visit to Boston Threading! Get a stamp card so you can earn a free threading! When I got there and asked about the Apple Pay they said their Apple Pay was down. I went to leave since I had no form of payment, but they told me to stay and I could pay them the next time I came in. How's that for service! Alright so there's already a lot of reviews for this place that I don't need to add much; I will say that this place is fantastic and I've been to a few different eyebrow techs and they've all done a great job. They will always ask you what you want and give you advice on what will be the best shape for your face. Any time that I'm in the area and need to get my caterpillars done, I will come here. It's $15, but if you check in on yelp, you will get a $2 discount. I also love that you can pay by card AND pay tip on your card, I never carry cash, so this is another reason why I choose this place over others. read more

$15 dollars is a bit expensive for me for eyebrow threading (I was conditioned in New York to only pay $8-$10 dollars), but I suppose if you buy the Yelp deal every time, it's more like $12 dollars (and then $15 all-in including the tip). And they do a good job, so I haven't really found a good excuse to find another place. They accept credit card, but prefer cash. I grew out my eyebrows for 4 months due to the pandemic. I had my eyebrows done today ( Monday), and I was extremely disappointed. My eyebrows are uneven and shapeless. My selfishness to keep walk-ins, short wait times and time to chitchat with the ladies possible, has been overridden by my desire to see this place succeed in every way imaginable. Therefore, I will divulge. Ranju is one of a kind. She is pleasant, professional, incredibly meticulous and seriously has the best memory of anyone I know. MONTHS ago, new to the area and furry-browed, I trudged into her other location likely grumbling about the 100ft of relentless snow and whining that I couldn't feel my fingers. While I might sound like a nightmare and someone she'd rather forget, at my latest appt Downtown, Ranju started listing off things she'd remembered about me, where I'd moved from, etc. Incredible. Maybe that's because I can never remember where I've placed my keys and am terrible with names. Still...it is a quality that speaks volumes about her care and attention to detail where her clients are concerned. It is a quality that will keep them coming back for life and I am happy to be among them. Ranju isn't alone in her sheer wonderfulness....Akriti, who wrangled my unruly brows on my latest visit, is a gem. Efficient and thorough, she also has a personality that is so effervescent, you can't help but want to talk to her about any number of things. She is delightful. Hard Facts: Pricing: $12 for perfectly manicured brows...no brainer. Completely worth it and then some. Check-in on Yelp and there is typically a deal for $2 off. Pricing for other services is also incredibly reasonable. Keep your eyes peeled for Groupon deals as well and the price gets even sweeter. Bonus: There is a frequent visitor card. The shop is located inside of the Jewelry Exchange building, which is great if you can find that! GPS will get you close, but if you find that you're still wandering, keep an eye out for a large street clock which is located on the sidewalk nearest the front doors. There is typically a security officer standing outside of said doors as well. Once you enter the building, there are elevators on the left-hand side. Take those up to the 2nd Floor. When you exit, turn your body to the right and start walking.... it will lead you around a corner and down a short hallway. The shop is on the left...the pink 'Boston Threading' sign should give it away ;) There you have it. Quality people, work and shop. Ever since I moved to Boston from Chicago, my eyebrows have suffered. I get bad reactions from waxing, so finding a good eyebrow threading place was not as easy as it is back home. I decided to take the hike from work and try this Boston. Its a small location & the line was out of the door. But the employees were nice and very inviting. Maybe its because I've been spoiled by the cheap prices I find back home, but $15 ($13 with the yelp offer) is a lot of a mediocre job. I say that because while I waited, I was able to observe how almost none of the customers before me were immediately satisfied with their brows. They had to go back & fix everyones... Including mine. One of the worst pains in the world is getting your eyebrows pulled on & plucked and when its finally done, you're not happy & have to go through the pain again. I am so skeptical of people that have only reviewed one or two places on Yelp. I kind of assume they are paid to make an account and review! Am I the only one? But hey, I have to start somewhere! I'm so happy with my brows now that I don't mind this place being my first review ever! My eyebrows are really sparse and they grow so thinly that to shape my eyebrows, I figured, would only make them look more thin and worse. But I recently tweezed my eyebrows poorly, was in the neighborhood and thought maybe a professional could help me out. Ranju is what everyone on Yelp says she is: amazing. She complimented my eyebrows before we started and I laughed it off since they are pathetic little things. I am a slave to eyebrow pencils, powder fillers, and gel brow thickeners. I thought it wasn't really possible to do anything with them since they are so short and sparse but she managed to work her magic! I would have gladly paid much more for what she did! The owner, Ranju, is friendly, delivers consistent quality, and pays great attention to shaping my brows in a way that leaves me feeling confident. Another perk is there's usually never too long of a wait, but appointments can also be scheduled. The location is kind of obscure though and easily missed since the business isn't allowed to put up any public signange on the front of the buildling. The place is on the 2nd floor (Suite 223) of the Jewelry Exchange building right across from the Old South Meeting House. I'm so happy to have found Boston Threading! The ladies here are able to turn my eyebrows from overgrown caterpillars (not kidding) to fleek and on-point. I usually pluck my brows myself at home, but whenever I get lazy and stop maintaining my shape (aka it's exam week and I barely have time to put on clothes, let alone manage my brows), I can always trust Boston Threading to fix them right up. They're also super patient with me whenever my wimpy butt (brow?) needs to take a short breather in the middle of threading. I am so happy I found Boston Threading. My friend highly recommended this place and her eyebrows are so nice all the time. A few years ago, I had a bad experience with threading my eyebrows (not at Boston Threading) so I was really hesitant to try it again. I've been tweezing and trimming my own eyebrows for a while and they were in desperate need of help. I saw a Groupon for $10 for $15 so I gave it a shot. I stopped by around noon on a Saturday and there were 3-4 people waiting. The space is pretty small but very clean and organized.The threading only took a few minutes and she was very friendly and skilled. This place is okay, but I wouldn't give it 5 stars. It was no better than the place in Cambridgeside Galleria. I let my brows grow out a lot after an incident and came here to get them re-shaped. The woman (I don't want to shame her but she has a lot of rave reviews below, no clue why) said she had absolutely no problem giving me the shape I asked for, but she didn't!!!! Even my coworker who recommended me there said, yeah she totally did not do that. The only reason I don't give less stars is because they don't look bad. They were very nicely shaped, just exactly what I didn't want. It's very disappointing to go around looking unkempt for that long for nothing. I have a significant arch to my brow and I asked if she could make them more C-shaped. If you are sitting there thinking it can't be done, yes it can. My brows are that wide/thick. Other brow beauticians that live no where near here (or I would go to them) have done it. The person has to envision that shape, even draw it if needed, first and forget the shape that's there.
