This is one of those places where the women doing your lashes feel more like artists than they do estheticians (that's not to say I wouldn't trust them with my skin, because I would trust them there too!). They are very talented at what they do-- everything is precise, patient, and delicate. I am one of those people who like very dramatic lashes, but I know that they cater to a wide spectrum of preferences. I would trust them to give me natural lashes if I asked, the same way I would trust them to give me "are those falsies?" esuqe ones as well. Lash L'Amour is not one of those places where not everybody comes out with the same identical set, they adjust their approach according to their clients desires. I have been getting my lashes done for four years (different salons), and can affirm that the lashes themselves are very well done. If you look closely, you will see that each lash extension is only placed on one natural lash. There is no sloppy or quick job being done there, and I think part of that is due to just how organized Lash L'Amour is. They keep each clients record (with preference, allergies, etc) on file, and give it to everybody who works with you. I have to use sensitive glue and tape, and it's nice to know that whoever is doing my lashes also has that information. In general, everything feels very "clean" here. I would never worry about them not cleaning their tools, or applying extensions to dirty eyelashes. During fills I often overhear them telling new clients how to care for their lashes, and they are very thorough and honest about what it takes to keep your lashes intact. The only negative reviews I see are talking about fall out, but I think this may be because they are comparing their experience at Lash L'Amour to places where lash extensions are improperly applied. At a lot of those places, a single extension is placed on multiple natural lashes, and sometimes stacked. Yes, your lashes might look great for a while, and may last a bit longer at a place like that, but your natural lashes are being ripped out and damaged. This place may seem expensive compared to others in the area-- but lash extensions are also something semi-permanent being done near your eyes-- it's important to go somewhere where you will be treated top notch. Overall, the lashes are great, scheduling is easy, and the front desk is very polite and professional. It is a beautiful salon. Online booking makes it easy to plan ahead or pick which lash person you would prefer to have for whichever appointments. Once you find a lash person you really like, I would stick with them or maybe one other person-- like anywhere, there are discrepancies. In all my time at L'ash Lamour, I only had one negative experience, and it was quickly resolved and more than remedied for. The owner of the salon is extremely professional and dedicated, it is obvious she genuinely cares about the experiences of clients at her business. I am very happy to be a client and couldn't recommend going here enough! read more

I went to Benefit to get my eyebrows waxed and was in awe of the salon technician's eyelashes. I thought she had extensions or at the least mascara, but found out they were completely bare. She divulged that she had a lash lift from Lash L'Amour. In hopes of achieving the same results, I called to make an appointment. I was required to make a 25% ($25) down payment to secure a spot the following week. For my lash lift appointment, I came sans contacts and eye make up. The personnel at the front desk who checked me in was welcoming and sweet. I completed a 1 page history and consent form and spent about 30 minutes there for the lash lift. As expected, there was a distinct perm smell, but surprisingly the chemicals were relatively gentle and non-irritating. The whole process was fairly relaxing (just lay down on a cushioned spa table and keep your eyes closed!). While I'd rate my results as only 3 stars, the overall experience was a 4. I had forgone the lash tint since I have dark lashes to start with but wish I had for more dramatic results. I don't think I'd get just a lift again as the change was relatively minor (my lashes look similar to when I curl them myself). I suspect that if you have longer or more voluminous lashes to start with, the lift results could justify the cost. Tip: Lash L'Amour is located on the 2nd floor off Newbury St; the entrance is easy to miss -- be on the look out for address 129! The space is clean and well-decorated. TERRIBLE. Do not go to this place if you care about your lashes. The first time I went they ripped the tape off my eye lid that it bled and they blamed it on my skin being sensitive. The second time I went my eye became swollen shut. They didn't offer a refund for any of it. I have been getting my eye lashes done for 3 years and never had an issue until I came here. The other thing is the menu is very hard to understand what you are getting and what the difference in price is.
