EHHH. Where do I begin--I am not sure who trained these people but one of the girls threading eyebrows was pressing so hard on my skin she literally cut me with the thread. If you read through all the yelp reviews you will find the same complain: rough, aggressive, excessive pressure. I do not understand why she kept putting so much pressure as she threaded. She barely cleaned my brows and did not seem like she knew what she was doing. They need to hire new people because I they will lose customers this way. I don't recommend this place. read more

This is my first time I am getting threading rather than waxing so it was an interesting feeling for me. I came with my roommate who had been here once already, recommending the girl and that there was a yelp deal [20% off] There was no wait and so we started swiftly. One or two seconds in I laughed and made mention that this was my first threading. Only then did she mention some hurt. All good. I asked for a clean up. It went alright, however all said and done she had shaped it quite thinly. It looked fine, just I didn't realize that a cleanup would take out so much hair, also inside left starts further out than desired. Alright, we will need to wait for a while for it to grow back again. All in all fine, just strange in experience. The girl said practically nothing the entire time i was there. Interestingly, there is a video that plays to showcase some of her skills when you are waiting in the waiting room. It seems this particular practice enjoys very thin eyebrows in general. read more

I love technology and really dig the Ipad sign in and text message alerts in case there's a wait, which usually there isn't. In a nice and surprisingly large space, maybe they are raking the dough in... $15 for eyebrows isn't the best price, but they do a decent job and are quick and efficient. Courteous, neat, and efficient- everything I would want from a place to perfect mah brows. I came here last week with my best friend to get our brows done. It's a clean, neat space, with a waiting area away from those getting threaded so that everyone gets their privacy. Stations are still next to each other as in any other typical threading place so there's that, but I was happy with my experience here. One reason why I knocked off one star is because of the pricing. Typically in NY and in CA they charge $7 for an eyebrow threading. However, this is Newbury St, so expect the pricing to match. Brows go for $15 but if you take advantage of the Yelp app, it goes down to $10. I didn't mind spending that much since we were in the area but I imagine if you like to have multiple areas threaded it can add up. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and would still recommend it if you're in the area. read more

Every single time I get my eyebrows done, I ask for a simple cleanup - not any thinner, no shape change, just get rid of the strays. The two times I have been desperate and tried here they have completely butchered my eyebrows by taking half of them off even though I give them the same spiel I give any time I go anywhere else. This place is convenient when I'm shopping on newbury or near Copley. The downside is that I sometimes will get a rash above my eyebrow after it's done (lasts a day or two). At the place I normally go to in Coolidge corner, that's not often the case. It's also the same price ($10 for eyebrows.. I always use the yelp app for this place because it makes it $10 for eyebrows instead of $12). But it is a quick and easy place to go to and better than running around when doing errands. read more

I have been coming here for about 6 months now and I love this place ! Copeela has been doing my eye brows the entire time and I couldn't be more happy with how my eye brows look. I work down the street at a medical spa and got referred there by one of my clients and I couldn't be happier that she told me to go see copeela ! What makes The Threading Place so great is that they are exclusively a threading salon - no waxing or other spa/beauty services- which means that all of the employees have had an incredible amount of experience! I have been getting my eyebrows threaded here for over a year now, and refuse to go anywhere else. The prices aren't too bad, there is rarely a wait, and all of the women who have threaded my eyebrows have done an excellent job. They're speedy and precise, and have been very gentle (Warning to anyone trying threading for the firs time, it will always hurt a little if you do not visit regularly, so do not expect a completely painless experience your first visit!). The full price for eyebrow threading is $15, but definitely take advantage of the yelp deals if available ($12 for $15 worth of services coupon purchased through Yelp). When you walk in, you have to sign into an iPad with your cell number to be added to the queue, which was 0 minutes for me when I was there on a Monday early evening. You'll get text messages from them every month or so for $2 off threading, or other discounts. I thought the service was normal and fair - nothing too extraordinary. I don't think they do it as well as Boston Threading in Downtown/Brighton though (love them!!!!), but I'll still come here when I am already around the area and if the Yelp deal is still available. read more

I don't know how many ladies work here, but every time I come in its the same woman, I believe her name is Copeela, Copeda, something like that. Anyway, her eyebrow threading is good... My eyebrows always come out nicely. However she has absolutely NO customer service skills whatsoever, and is extremely rude. She doesn't greet people when they walk through the door, she's very rough (the thread is always snapping), and doesn't say a single word to you the entire time. Some people aren't chatty, and I get that. But the least you can do is greet your customer and not have a permanent b***** face. Not a very inviting atmosphere at all. I was so surprised by how rude the person helping me was. First of all, she didn't ask me what I wanted and instead of asking me nicely to place my hands on my eye, she ordered me. And when she wanted me to put my hands away, she brushed my hand off versus asking me politely. I was appalled and honestly, would love to have a refund back because I am never going back to this place. She was really unfriendly all the way till the end. I just find it appalling that I as a customer, felt like I was being ordered around versus being provided a great service. That being said, I think they did an okay job. So, that was fine. Walked in without a reservation and the place was empty, so I didn't have to wait at all. Was able to get the Yelp $5 discount for checking in, no problem. Brows looked great, still thick but clean and neat (didn't have the issue with overly thinned brows that others have cited). Got a punch card which offers a discount after 10 services. I usually don't post reviews however I need to tell the buyer please beware. I decided to try this place since I couldn't make it to my regular threading salon in Cambridge. Overall the reviews I had read were okay. I went with a friend and we both wanted our eyebrows threaded. My friend had her eyebrows already filled in with pencil and asked her to follow the line. This came out okay still a bit thinner than she would have like. I decided it didn't look bad and would give it a try. Silly me. First off this particular girls threading technique was painful. She clearly was not the owner Anju that everyone raved about but a different girl. I felt like I had rug burn on my eyebrows by the time she was done and she didn't even apply aloe. She also removed an eyelash or two during the process.  I had almost full growth eyebrows as it had been about 4 weeks  since I had them threaded last.  So I gave her specific instructions to  arch them and not to make them too thin and to be careful not take too much out the middle as I do not want to look like a lion. So what I received was too much taken from the middle shortening my eyebrows, no arch(round) and thinned out. We all know how important eyebrows are to framing the face and now I have to let them grow and hope filling in the missing pieces with makeup will suffice.  Who in the heck wears round eyebrows these days!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I didnt give this place 5 stars bc I didn't leave feeling like, "wow, this is definitely my new spot ." But it definitely deserves 4 stars because they do great frickin eyebrows! I wanted to wait until Ive been here at least twice before writing a review bc I wanted to make sure they were consistent - and they're not...they're BETTER. My first time coming here was a little before christmas time and I was recovering from a horrible eyebrow experience that changed the shape of my eyebrows completely .. Copeela was my savior! She not only got me my natural shape back (as much as humanly possible) but she didnt make them too thin which is always my main complaint whenever I get my brows done. They were beautiful, honestly, although it did hurt a bit - ESPECIALLY when she got to my lip. Ouch. But it was definitely worth it for me. ** NOTE: each time I got my lip done I left with a few tiny rug burn cuts above my lip. These go away after like 24 hours or so give or take. Not sure if it's normal or not bc I've never gotten my lip threaded before her. ** The wait time was short bc threading is pretty quick. There were 2 people ahead of me and I was still in and out in 30 mins. My second time going was today and again, Copeela was the only one working. There were no other customers so I was in and out quickly again. The experience was the same as last time only this time my brows came out 10x better! Im in love with them. I don't know how she did it but she did. My only con is the pain but like I said, its bearable and worth it. Copeela is amazing. Im definitely going back. read more

The girl who works here during week days is extremely rude and unfriendly. My eye brows came out fine, but she was a straight up b****. She didn't say one word to me and gave me dirty looks and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. Her technique is also very harsh as she pulls your skin with each thread. The girls on the weekend are great and very sweet, avoid the rude girl and go in on a Saturday or sunday! read more

An eyebrow threading is normally $12 and an upper lip threading is normally $8. We only spent $10! My eyebrows look fine. They just don't look how I wanted them to. I was very very very clear about how particular I am about my eyebrows and that I just wanted a clean up. Keep the shape. Just a clean up. Once I started feeling more hairs than usual being pulled out, I knew the shape, in fact, wasn't going to be the same, and that I'd be upset. Again, my eyebrows don't look bad - she just removed hair from where I didn't want it to be removed. I can tell my eyebrows have been done and I don't like it to be that noticeable, if that makes any sense. I can tell more hair has been taken out than usual. I'm very detail oriented if you can't tell. The woman who threaded my eyebrows also made me feel like she was literally going to pull my face off because of how roughly she was threading. My head was jerking around and I think the string even caught some of my eyelashes. For the price, I probably won't be going back - I'll keep going to the Galleria, as far as it may be, it's cheaper and I know that my girl will always do what I ask her to. Now, back to the process of growing out my brows which will probably take two months, at least. Sigh. read more

Went here for the first time today to get my brows done. The atmosphere is very nice, there's comfortable seating in the waiting area, and customers sign in on a tablet to get put in 'line'. Their system allows you to request a specific technician, or you can just choose to have the first available person. They also keep track of your visits, so your tenth threading session is free. They are very fast, I was in the shop for only about ten minutes! Would recommend. read more

I walked into the Threading Place on my lunch break from work to have my eyebrows and upper lip done. I read some reviews and thought this would be a good place to go for a quick cleanup during my busy schedule. After this experience I STRONGLY regret not waiting and just going to the woman I normally see for this service - when I typically have threading done it never hurts outside of the expected discomfort associated with getting your hair torn out at the root, however the girl who was performing my service at this location did it so painstakingly slowly that my eyes were watering during the ENTIRE service. The girl doing my threading began with my upper lip.This is typically known as the most uncomfortable part since the skin is so sensitive there, however the pain this time was excruciating because I could feel each individual hair getting pulled out, one deeply-rooted strand at a time. Additionally, I had to keep my eyes closed tight because the fluorescent lights were so bright and glaring right in my face that I could not look straight up when lying back in the chair. Between the bright lights and the pain from the girls painstaking work, my eyes began to water almost immediately after she began the threading. The girl kept asking why my eyes were watering; first I said it was because of the lights, then I said it was allergies, and by the third time she asked I just brushed it off as nothing (hoping that she would stop asking). For some reason I thought maybe she would get comfortable and go faster as the service went on. She did not. When she moved to my eyebrows, I told her I wanted to keep the thickness but just have them cleaned and shaped. She did just a few swipes of her thread and then held the mirror up and said, "I think it still looks too thick." I thought the shape looked fine the way it was but suggested that she go ahead and clean up the rest of the stray hairs that were left behind. All the while she continued to go very, very, slowly which made my eyes water, at which she giggled every time. And at the end my eyebrows looked thinner at the center and thicker throughout the middle with a few patchy portions. The shape looked okay but they were far from even. I was afraid to have her fix them in case it would make them too thin, so I decided to leave the appointment and just clean them up on my own (a frustrating feeling when paying $25 for the entire service). Then the girl put aloe on my eyebrows and told me I was all set, but when I asked her for aloe for my lip and she got a look on her face and asked, "Wait, did I do your lip?" Even though that was the FIRST thing she did. When I reminded her, she remembered but still looked confused as to why I wanted aloe for my lip. It's over 24 hours later and my eyebrows are STILL red, puffy, and sore from yesterday. Considering the price, pain, and quality of the services offered here, I will absolutely not be going back. read more

Not the best threading place I've ever been to, but certainly not the worst. Does a good job on the whole. Ask for Kopila and you won't be disappointed, she's absolutely amazing at shaping brows! Brows are usually $12 without tip, but The Threading Place offers $2 off coupons that incentivize me to keep coming back. One of the more affordable threading places I've come across in Boston. Came in today for my eyebrows and had a wonderful experience she was gentle and took her time and also made sure to ask if I liked my eyebrows thinned out or just cleaned up which I appreciate. I have thickish brows and often times theyll be waxed or threaded too thin without my permission so it was wonderful that she asked. My brows look good and the price is right especially with the 50% off yelp special. I've had a hard time finding someone I trust with my eyebrows since moving from Atlanta to Boston but I will definitely stop back here! read more

My eyebrows and upper lip look great! I would have given 5 stars, but Yelp's deal offers $15 for $10. When I arrived at the studio, they told me that the $15 only applies to eyebrow threading, which is the normal cost of the threading. However, they also have a free deal that lowers the price to $10, meaning that I could have saved $5 just by coming in. They wouldn't combine the discounts, so really Yelp just needs to update that deal so people know not to waste their money. According to the stylist, they'd tried several times. All in all, despite wasting $5, it was a good experience. And it was totally empty so they worked on me immediately, which is nice. read more
