We visited for the first time to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and we were really excited. She had planned to order a coffee flight and a plate of food. We made an 8:30 reservation through Resy, as it allows for that time (which I'd happily adjust if it were an issue). However, the first person I spoke to greeted us with, "Well, I don't have a reservation here, but we're still open," in a rude tone, which immediately soured the experience. We sat down, and while our server was pleasant, she mentioned they'd be closing in 15 minutes--something the host could have flagged earlier. Out of consideration for the staff, my girlfriend and I decided to skip ordering food to avoid rushing. Instead, I ordered a mimosa flight, and a friend of ours ordered one plate of food. To our shock, we overheard the chefs in the back mocking us, saying, "One plate for three people," and laughing. It was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate. We made a decision that should have made things easier for them, and yet they chose to ridicule us. This completely ruined the mood and spoiled my girlfriend's birthday dinner. As a hospitality manager myself, I know that if my staff acted this way, they would not have a job. I kept hearing about this place and today we gave in and came to see what all of the hype was about...so here we go. As expected, there were people waiting outside..I checked in with the nicest hostess who took my number and said the wait was 30 min. And I would get a text when our table was ready..20 min. Later I got the text that would change me life..lol the decor is absolutely charming with a country rustic vibe, the staff was fantastic, the menu is extensive yet simple and full of comfort classics ( this was Brunch ). We loved the Mimosa samplers..and the food was absolutely Delicious!!! So fresh and so beautiful. I noticed the aforementioned sweet hostess was not only running the front of the house like a Champ..but was also checking on customers and even passing out homemade cinnamon biscotti ( which was so yummy ) to all the tables..I asked her if the owner was around (as I wanted to compliment the hostess on her manors and work ethic ) I was surprised to learn the Hostess was indeed the owner ( eventually met her husband as well ) what wonderful people!! I congratulated them on their success on such a wonderful place..and we talked for a few minutes. Look, in past reviews I've thrown the term "Gem" around with perhaps careless disregard..but in no other case is the use of "Hidden Gem" more applicable..this place is Amazing!! I was really excited to try this place but what a disappointment. We waited about 45 minutes for a table, which we figured would be the case. However, the service was terrible. Once we ordered, we waited over an hour for our food to arrive- I asked for avocado on my BLT which they didn't add and I didn't even bother asking for it because I figured would be at least 20 Minutes to get it. The pancakes looked so good, but they were the worst pancakes we have ever eaten. Dry and tasteless. The waffles were also awful- dry and tasteless. We asked for well done bacon- it was basically raw but again didn't bother to say anything because of how long the wait was. Even water took 20 minutes to get. The coffee flight was cute but the hot coffee was cold- probably from being made and sitting for awhile before the waitress brought them over. The best thing was the s'more hot coca. I would never wait to eat there again- and I would only get coffee if I returned. Definitely don't get the hype. Edit to owner: Lisa O. Came in on a Saturday evening and were seated promptly. Everything about our meal was wonderful from the service to the rosemary bread to our appetizers and meal and dessert. OMG this will be my brunch spot. This was my 1st time there and I am a repeat customer. So heads up no reservations. Funny enough I didn't make any but thought it would be fine. It is a small spot. No place to wait inside. We get there and there is a 30 min wait. Whatever the wait, it's worth it. Right on point, 30 mins we get a text saying to come in. We sat at the counter. My order the French toast with chicken sausage, with a mimosa flight my friend the Canadian bacon eggs Benedict and cup of decaf. I'm not a French toast person, usually I go with waffles, but man I'm happy I switched it up. The French toast was one of the best I've ever had. It was the right kind of soft in the middle but lightly crispy. You can also taste the spices used such as cinnamon and the custard used. The. Chicken sausage complimented it nicely not too spicy but just right. The mimosa flight is a must each time I go. Definitely worth it. The eggs Benedict was good. It's served with potatoes that were very well seasoned. The eggs were done perfectly. Lol even the decaf was on point. The icing on the cake is the customer service. Before the coffee cup was low they asked if she wanted to refill. The owner came over to join us and we enjoyed our convo with her. I've heard so many great things about this quaint little spot in Westchester and just had to try it. The mimosa flights are a nice touch and great for trying flavors and sharing some with the table. I've gone to this restaurant two times and I experienced different treatment each time and I found this very weird; this time I was with another hispanic person. -- A restaurant with a "walk ins only" policy during brunch! I get there at the same time as a white person but this person didn't have her full party while I was ready; they rather waited for the other person to get there to sit them. Then proceeded to say the wait was 45mins and there was a wait list. I said I would wait at least 20 mins to see if the tables clear out and the host kept saying 45mins, unless those two tables open in 20mins then kept saying 45mins like she wanted me to leave. How do you sit someone that got there at the same time as me without her full party? How does a walk in only place have a wait list and no people actually waiting in the premises? in fact, if the wait list is 45mins why you skipped the wait list to sit someone that just got there? I would have given this place a 5 star had the service been a little different. I'm not trying to bash this beautifully decorated small quaint perfect brunch spot but they don't take reservations which is fine usually small places like this don't but being that their popularity has blown to epic portions maybe they should rethink reservations just for Brunch which seems to be when everyone is lining up to eat here. Anyway after a short 29 min wait we were seated. I was celebrating my bday with my cousins and this place has been on my radar for months. We were approached by a nice young lady who gave good recs and seemed to know the menu well. We ordered the mimosa flight, highly recommend, and then our entrees the food didn't take long at all and it all tasted great just super big portions which I certainly will never complain about having leftovers but here is where I had my issue. We stayed for about an hour and half which I think is ok for seating time, wait for food time, super quick photos and some chat time. It was my birthday after all and I wanted to have some girl time and unwind. Well this seems to be a problem as a lady walked in and they took her name and she waited inside which is a bit uncomfortable because you would be literally standing over someone already seated and eating. She paced the floor staring at ppl as if to say if your done I want your table. Awkward to say the least as it seemed she had her eye on our table. The hostess then comes over and says I'm not rushing you but if your done I would like to bring you the check because I have ppl waiting for your table. Our table? How when you don't take reservations and we were 3 sweater at a table for 4 and the person stalking was a party of 5? I was so turned off because the way I would have handled it is I would have found our server and said please tend to your table you haven't been over in awhile see if they need anything else or they would like their check. That sounds more like your not throwing me out and are trying to accommodate everyone especially the person seated who ordered a ton of food. But I will not let that deter me from trying dinner here one night just hope it's handled different. I found myself at The Tasty Table for my godson's confirmation party. I'm not as familiar with eateries in Northern Westchester as I am in the southern half of the county, but one of my family members had been here for brunch multiple times and had good things to say. I'm always excited to try new places out, so I was looking forward to trying TT's fare. TT is mainly a breakfast and lunch spot, though they are open a couple of nights a week for dinner. It's not a large restaurant, but they make good use of the space and have a bright color scheme to make the perception true to size. There's a bar/production area to the right with stool seating that serves as a nice focal point, and a few tables outside as well. The decor is somewhat modern with clean lines, though they have some homier touches like sliding doors and a chalkboard on one of the walls displaying the menu/specials. Since I was here for a party, the menu was already set by one of my family members. We had a variety of apps and mains arranged in a buffet style. For starters, we had selections of chips with guac and pico de gallo, cheese quesadillas, and sliders. Everything was tasty - I especially liked the sliders, the burgers were juicy and didn't fall apart despite being highly stacked. For mains, we had Cuban sandwiches, stuffed chicken, rigatoni filetto di pomodoro, and Brussels sprouts. The Cuban sandwich was definitely my favorite - they were slider-sized with great flavor. The stuffed chicken was just okay - it had adequate filling but I found it to be bland overall. The rigatoni was good, and I really liked the Brussels sprouts - the balsamic glaze on the latter really worked. Service was great, everyone was very attentive and eager to help - we were a large party but I never felt forgotten which is a testament to their customer service. I also consider myself lucky that I was here for a party, so I was able to taste a variety of dishes. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at The Tasty Table - I noticed that their brunch was written up as Best in Westchester, so I would definitely consider returning to experience it. We were so excited to go to this place based on the social media pictures/ videos we have seen. If only it tasted as good as it looked. Pancakes were dry, so ask for extra syrup. Only order the bacon if you like jerky. The only reason I'm putting 2 stars is because of how appealing they make the food look. Lovely atmosphere, cozy and clean, friendly with delicious creative food and drinks and we have fallen in love with the owners Lisa and Danny.
