While roasted chicken, 4 sides, 3 sauces

Everything about this establishment is FANTASTIC!!! I've stopped in several times to get lunch and am always happy with my choice. They have delicious and fun specials everyday too. Tonight we decided to try the whole rotisserie chicken meal and wow! It comes in a fun box with all of your choice of sizes and sauces and of course the chicken. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and juicy as could be, but not at all salty. With the 'whole chicken' option you get a choice of 4 sides and 3 sauces. The sides we got were rice, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and green beans. They were all excellent but I have to say the mac n cheese was my favorite and probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Sauces we opted for were the au jus, sweet chili and chimichurri. The au jus was my favorite here..it was so flavorful!!!! This is truly a special place, with the freshest food that you can taste is always made with love and care.

I got the Oklahoma style smash burger and a 1/2 dozen cake donuts. Both were fantastic. The order was ready quickly and the staff were very friendly. Definitely a great smash burger

I don't know why it took me so long to try out this place! My friends and I decided after doing a 4 mile walk, we deserved a nice meal. We all ordered different items, including a burger, crispy chicken sandwich, and the chicken Cesar naan wrap. We were all quite satisfied! Note- there is limited seating, and we brought our food outside and ate on benches by the train station. Worth it on such a nice day! I will be back to try the milkshakes.

Love this new comfort food spot in the center of Pleasantville. Like a night out in Nashville. Delicious roast chicken with sides like Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. Amazing fried pickles. Homemade soft serve. Stool/counter seating to eat inside with one outdoor table. Wouldn't recommend the chicken naan wrap or the banana smash pie (had that artificial jello pudding taste), but coming back for a milkshake and more soft serve. 5 stars!!!

In the heart of town and a fantastic place for good eats -- you're immediately greeted by lovely staff ready to take your order! Limited seating interior but fantastic for take away, let's dive in ... Fried Pickles (5/5): the dipping sauce is continuously drawing me in for more, begging to have me dunk yet another pickle chip, and I do. High recommend this side/starter. Crispy Thai Chicken Bowl (5/5): The jasmine rise is plain which works nicely with the robust mango flavor and the sweet bbq chicken and veggies on top. Chopped Cheese (5/5): this buttery bun, cheesy chop of ground meat is fantastic! Topped with some light veg and all encased in a seeded bun this is a win for anyone who loves a chopped cheese or a cheeseburger in pure form as it gives strong vibes of each. TL;DR: This small footprint is not small in flavor. A must-try when in downtown Pleasantville.

What a charming establishment! Unique menu. Lots of protein with some vegetable options. Be forewarned. It feels like it could be fast food and quick BUT food is made to order. There's a lot of wait time. I ordered 6 piece chicken nuggets and a kids Mac and cheese. After 26 mins, I asked what was going on as 3 other customers came and went. They went to check. Said nothing. Then 8 minutes later I asked how things were going and the person said oh, they needed to make new Mac and cheese. Again, communicate with your patrons. People are more understanding. Update: the Mac and cheese is delicious though!!!

The pics, reviews, and menu all seemed to point towards a yes - so off we went. Freddy's is located within the main commercial hub of Pleasantville. It's not a large restaurant, but holds a decent amount of seating with tasteful and laid-back decor. We were there right at opening at 4:30p, so it wasn't crowded but started filling up as time progressed. The menu is mostly American - arranged by apps, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. I decided to start with the burrata which was served with diced butternut squash, brown butter, and grilled bread. This was...not what I was expecting. Burrata usually comes as an intact sphere that you cut open to reveal the soft cheese inside. This was already broken, and served in an almost deconstructed way. It honestly looks like a way to cut corners as it was definitely not a whole burrata. That, and the lack of flavor do not make it worth the $17 they charge. My main was better - I ordered the smoked chicken which was a breast on the bone and came with grits, spinach, and honey au jus. This was tasty - the chicken was juicy with crispy skin, and the au jus added a welcome sweetness to the grits and spinach. We opted for dessert because birthday - I chose the carrot cake which was just okay. No nuts, raisins, or noticeable carrots - so, a spice cake? As a side note, we were there during HV Restaurant week, however in lieu of a dedicated menu they offered a prix fixe app/entree/dessert off their menu. It sounded great at face value, but then we were told the portions would be smaller - and for items they couldn't shrink they up-charged if we ordered off the regular menu. IMO, not the best way to do restaurant week - either have a dedicated menu for it or don't participate at all. That being said, we decided to order off the regular menu. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, Freddy's sent me mixed signals - the food wasn't bad, but this isn't a place I would go out of way to try again - it's more of a local spot in my perspective. If circumstances found me here again, though, I wouldn't be mad.

By the time I remembered to take a picture, the damage had already been done. I've been to Golden K Burgers a few times now, and it has quietly become one of my favorite burger spots. It's a Korean-American burger joint with a cozy diner feel inside. Nothing overly flashy, just great vibes, a comfortable atmosphere, and a staff that always greets you with a warm smile that makes you feel welcome. Over the times I've been here, I've tried the Farmhouse Burger, Big Kahuna Burger, BBQ Chip Burger, and the A1 Burger. Honestly, they've all been excellent. But somehow... I keep coming back to the A1 Burger. Now I know what some of you are thinking. "A1 sauce? Really? There are so many better burger sauces than A1!" I actually agree! A1 has never been my first choice for burgers. But my goodness... whatever magic they're working here just works! The two juicy beef patties, perfectly marinated mushrooms and onions, melted Swiss cheese, tangy A1 sauce, and soft buttery brioche bun come together like a perfectly conducted symphony. Every ingredient has its role, and none of them overpower the others. The mushrooms bring an earthy richness, the onions add sweetness, the Swiss cheese gives it that creamy nuttiness, and then the A1 sauce swoops in with just enough boldness to wake up your palate without stealing the show. Funny enough, every topping on this burger (except the A1 sauce) is exactly what I'd normally choose for any burgers anyway, yet the A1 somehow becomes the finishing touch that ties everything together! Another thing I really appreciated was how well the burger was constructed. It held together beautifully from the first bite to the last without collapsing into a soggy mess. That's an underrated quality that deserves recognition. The fries were also fantastic because they weren't buried under a mountain of salt like so many places do. I actually found myself wondering if they'd fry them a second time upon request because I love my fries extra crispy. I guess I'll have to ask next time! I've also had their 12-piece Buffalo Wings before. I wouldn't say they're the best wings I've ever had, but they're definitely very good. They came out crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, marinated evenly with buffalo sauce (dry) that had just the right balance of buttery richness, tanginess, and heat. They were satisfying without being overly greasy. From the outside, Golden K Burgers probably doesn't scream, "This is one of NYC's best burger joints!" But trust me when I say this: you'll find yourself craving it again very soon. And to me, that's the highest compliment I can give any restaurant. There are plenty of places that impress you once. The truly great ones are the ones that make you want to come back! Give Golden K Burgers a try! Highly recommended!

They have a program to text when your table was ready, so we went for a walk in the neighborhood while we waited. A surprisingly short time later, we received the text that our table was ready! The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.

Our original guest list was for 40 adults and 4 children, at a price of $39.95 per person. However, our final head count given to the caterer was 27. Knowing that we had a $2,000 minimum just for food and beverages, and a lower number of attendees than originally expected we made our final menu selection with the planner, who knew we were expecting to have leftovers that could be frozen or would keep in the refrigerator for a period of time. In fact we went over the $2,000 minimum. The food itself was good as were the servers who were paid an additional gratuity. They did package the four sides, a tray of pulled pork and a tray of brisket, a few pieces of cheese, a small bunch of grapes and a handful of crackers from the extra cheese platter, a few veggies from the extra crudité tray, and a few small slices of watermelon, part of the basic BBQ . Not a single hamburger, cheeseburger, veggie burger or hotdog was left. Not a single roll to accompany the leftover meats, the brisket was an additional $10 per person. None of the dips from the crudités platter or any shrimp from the platter of shrimp with its extra pound of shrimp remained. I was informed after the event when I contacted our planner that whatever the company ate was considered what we had paid for and the rest was brought back to be returned to inventory. We found that unacceptable. It was food we had paid for and whatever was not consumed should have remained with us. We were also told that no where in the contract did it say we should expect leftovers. It should be understood that you get what you pay for. I would never use them again, nor would I recommend that anyone else use them.

We were actually supposed to go on vacation but apocalyptic weather at our destination meant that every flight to that region was cancelled or severely delayed and ain't nobody got time for that so we decided to take a staycation instead. It felt only right to do the thing we would have done on vacation and go out for dinner. TBH we're old now so vacation or not, we eat on the earlier side of things. I think we went at around 5:30pm. Ample amount of seating available at that time. They have quite a large menu with many intriguing options. Unfortunately, only vegetarian main I recall was the mac and cheese. Instead, I settled on the santa fe salad for my main and GF the lettuce tacos for hers. The appetizer menu was particularly appetizing but we had to settle on two so we went with the spicy cauliflower and brie-stuffed pretzel. The spicy cauliflower was flavored aggressively, in a positive kind of way. The accompanying ranch brought everything together. You also can't go wrong with a brie stuffed pretzel. I don't typically like sweet in what is traditionally a savory flavor profile but the fig jam really added a welcome new dimension. Santa fe salad was gigantic. I actually was able to eat the rest of it for dinner on the following night. Absolutely loaded with goodies like avocado, corn, cheese, black beans, scallions, tomatoes. What a combo of flavors and textures in that thing. GF enjoyed all of the tacos except for nashville hot chicken but she isn't a big fan of chicken to begin with. I was especially impressed by their drink menu. They have a literal "smoked" menu which I could not pass up. I went with the southern smoke which is out of character for me because I typically don't get bourbon (for a reason...and i suffered later). This drink packed a fucking PUNCH. My goodness. There is no candy land bullshit juice drinks here, you definitely get your money's worth. There was a touch of a time period between when I finished my drink and was asked if I wanted another but at least they did ask. Ultimately a good experience. I do wish they had some vegetarian mains but if you aren't vegetarian and like southern food you would probably enjoy tremendously.
