Crudite, avocado salad, scallop crudo, special pasta dish with black truffle, New York strip and lamb chops, lobster Thermidor, desserts
Chris O.

The Surf Club is an absolute experience -- every bit as iconic as you hope it will be. From the moment you walk in, the décor is a sight to behold. You truly feel transported into 1950s glamour: elegant, timeless, and effortlessly cool. A detail I loved immediately -- the women are given adorable leather stools for their clutch bags upon arrival. Such a small touch, but it sets the tone that they've thought of everything. Despite being incredibly busy and packed (we felt very lucky to snag a reservation), the service was unreal. The staff was overly attentive in the best way -- we genuinely felt like we were the only table in the room. The bread service and rolls alone were some of our top favorites and thankfully included. As for drinks, most of us leaned into the extensive wine list, but I had an extra dirty martini with blue cheese olives, the Cougar Club, and an espresso martini -- all executed perfectly. What's impressive is how they elevate even the simplest cocktails into something memorable. This philosophy carries over to the food. They somehow take a "simple" Caesar salad or fettuccine Alfredo and turn it into the best version you've ever had. We loved the Alfredo so much we ordered a second one -- no regrets. I'm not usually a deviled egg person, but those who ordered them (you can get them individually, which is great) said they were the best they've ever had. Of course, we had to get the signature Caesar made tableside, which was excellent -- but the avocado salad with Russian dressing completely upstaged it for me. One of the specials was a scallop crudo served on a beautiful shell, finished with basil oil that made you want to lick the shell clean. We also ordered the special pasta with shaved truffle -- light, elegant, and very tasty -- though honestly, the fettuccine Alfredo is just as good (if not better) at a much friendlier price point. I'm already planning to try the vodka sauce pasta next time. For mains, the steak was cooked perfectly, as expected -- but the true star of the show was the lobster Thermidor. Unbelievable. Served warm with a rich cream sauce, it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. We shared Brussels sprouts and whipped mashed potatoes as sides. They were delicious, but portions are on the smaller side -- definitely plan on ordering one per person if you're hungry. The Surf Club isn't just dinner -- it's classic luxury, thoughtful service, and flawless execution wrapped into one unforgettable night. Worth every bit of the hype. We would follow Thomas Keller to the ends of the earth. Everything he touches turns to gold.

Surf Club was easily a five star experience. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with amazing architecture and such cute pink vibes that made the whole atmosphere feel elegant and fun at the same time. Came here for a business dinner and everything we ordered was incredible. We had the crudo, oysters, crab cakes, pork belly, cheesecake dessert, and the fish special I ordered for my entree was amazing. I also had to try a bite of the ribeye Wagyu and it was so good. The food, service, and ambiance were all top tier. Overall, 10 out of 10 and definitely a place worth experiencing.

Beautiful and relaxing ambiance, sat at the bar and the service was excellent. We will be back.

We have tried all of Thomas Keller's restaurants and ultimately everything turned out to be very good but never great. This is how I would describe the Surf Club. The menu consists of well known dishes but there are no surprises - everything is cooked well and tasty but not memorable. The best dish is the Ceasar's salad which is prepared table side, using raw eggs (!) and is a must-order simply for the show. Everything seemed to order it. The crab cakes were very good - crispy crust and big chunks of crab with a spicy mayo on the side - worth it. Lumache Alla Vodka was also good, with the pasta cooked just right and a nice spicy kick to the sauce. The almonds on the European Sea Bass made the fish - toasted and slightly caramelized paired with a very good sea bass. Get it if you are in the mood. The oysters Rockefeller are simply ok but not worth reordering. The chocolate layer cake was also very good but not extraordinary and typically of any good pastry shop's version. Finally the service is what you would expect of a Michelin Star, which was precise and well executed although our waiter has a pretty bland personality compared to the guy serving the table next to us.

Had dinner and drinks here and overall, it was a great experience. Let's start with the location--easily one of the highlights. The ambiance is incredible, and the hotel itself is stunning. The bar area is beautifully decorated--perfect for pre-dinner drinks, which I highly recommend. Service was excellent. The gentleman helping us was attentive and on point from start to finish. As for the food, everything was solid. The tableside Caesar salad is a must. We had a few pastas and a steak for dinner--everything was good. Not mind-blowing, but exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. The only area for improvement: dessert. We tried the sundae and the dark chocolate layer cake--both fell a little flat. Still, a great night overall and definitely worth a visit.

Today we went to celebrate our 32nd anniversary! The food was amazing we had the Rockefeller oysters , the New York steak and mushrooms ...everything was fabulous and delicious! Service was wonderful by Adriana she was very pleasant and professional she brought us a ice cream with a happy anniversary chocolate as a complement to seal the perfect celebration!!!! Ambience upscale and chic.

THE PLACE: Located in the four seasons hotel, valet is the only parking we found, that was 35 bucks. Inside, the hotel lobby is beautiful for pictures. The restaurant has inside and outside seating available, though the majority is inside. Inside, it is beautifully decorated, with table and booth seating, decorated with dim lighting, colorful yet subtle fabics, paintings, plants and deco mirrors. It was an odd but beautiful mix of feeling like NY/Manhattan glam vibes, but very Miami in color palette if that make sense. THE FOOD: Upon being seated, were were given water, hot fresh bread and a selection of veggies with a dill/yogurt sauce - all tasty 5/5. For drinks, I had "El Diablo" sweet but refreshing 4/5 and my husband an old fashioned 5/5. For apps, we had the Rockefeller oysters, cooked oysters with spinach and cheese (?), outstanding 1000/5. For entrees, I had "all day braised beef and forest mushroom lasagna" creamy, dense and flavorful 5/5, my husband had the main lobster thermidor, tender lobster on a bed of a lobster bisque type of sauce/soup 5/5 and ordered a side of whipped potatoes, that were good, but just ok 3/5. & of course, with restaurants such as these, portions will always be small. THE SERVICE: Great service beginning to end, our waitress was phenomenal.

Came here on a Sunday with my cousin to enjoy a late lunch. The scene was perfect for co-working or having a cup of coffee before starting the day. We had to wait about an hour after learning they serve Sunday brunch buffet until 3p for $125 & we couldn't order from the regular menu until then. We ordered a round of drinks - I had a zero proof Lemon City (not 100% on the 0 proof cause I definitely felt a little buzzed). It was interesting and tasted like they used egg whites. Ordering from the Champagne Bar menu, I ordered a chicken club and my cousin had the bolognese. The chicken club was huge and delicious - the mustard mayo was a little overpowering but everything else was on point. My cousin loved her pasta. We ordered another round of mocktails to wash it down - this time being a zero proof Espresso which was good but as you can see had way too much head (foam) on it; if they scale back on the foam, it'd be perfect. Food aside, the experience was great! All servers were attentive and the interior design is beautiful. They knew we were waiting for the regular menu and still made it a point to communicate with us as shifts were changing. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and the balcony over looks the hotel pool with an entrance to the beach. This is the type of place where you feel accomplished just by being in the space.

Birthday celebration was a success! Excellent experience from start to finish and the food was delicious! Michelin stars earned! We started with the deviled eggs and some mocktails. Following that, we had the famous Caesar salad and for the main course, we indulged in the lobster Thermidor and lamb chops. I forgot what the dessert was, but it was rolled in coconut. This place did not disappoint! Excellent service and ambiance. Enjoy!

The ambiance is amazing! We were able to walk up and sit down immediately in the lounge area, the dining room was fully reserved but the lounge area is full menu/same service. The complimentary bread and fruit was good, the fancy butter was a nice touch. I forgot to take a picture of main course but we had the Dover Sole Meunière, (serves two people) it was good but I personally didn't like the texture of this fish as it was kind of tough but this is a personal preference, the flavor was great though and my fiancé loved it! I would recommend the butter whipped potatoes, that was to die for! Our waitress was very informative and was very detailed with her responses if we had any questions. Would come back here.

Thomas Keller's Surf Club truly lives up to its reputation as a classy establishment. Calling Keller a game changer for the dining experience feels absolutely fair. The most striking proof is undoubtedly the staff - impeccably well-trained, genuinely attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about everything. Then, of course, there's the food. I'd categorize the cuisine as contemporary American with a strong, classic French backbone, which is pure Thomas Keller. Every single entree was a perfect 10/10. Maybe next time I'd skip the oysters as an appetizer, though. For mains, we went with the lobster Thermidor, the Turbot grenobloise, and their true ribeye. Across the board, each dish was astounding. The Thermidor had that classic, almost old-fashioned richness, but it was utterly delicious and impossible to resist. The Turbot? Honestly, probably the best fish I've ever eaten. The true ribeye delivered exactly what you'd hope for: beautifully marbled and cooked to absolute perfection. Wow. We couldn't resist sampling four desserts: the Peach Cobbler Ice Cream, the chocolate layer cake, the blueberry compote cheesecake, and a special Strawberry Charlotte (their take on a French Tiramisu). Every single one was executed flawlessly. I'm already looking forward to my next chance to stop in.

Lumache Alla Vodka
Zoe C.

Great, but overpriced restaurant. The portions are pretty tiny, but the food is good. The French Onion Dip and Kettle Chips was a 10/10. The Classic Caesar Salad had way too much dressing on it, but the croutons were good. The bread is phenomenal. The Lumache Alla Vodka was a pretty small portion, but the sauce was incredible. Other than the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, I was not impressed with the sides and they were extremely small. The warm cookies are the best option for dessert.

Butter

10/10 - A truly exceptional dining experience at The Surf Club Let's just get this out of the way -- the bread and butter alone is worth the reservation. Pillowy, warm, and served with the most decadent butter -- it somehow managed to steal the show, even among a lineup of standout dishes. We started with fresh, briny oysters and a perfectly balanced steak tartare, followed by a classic tableside Caesar that was as impressive in presentation as it was in flavor. The soufflé for dessert was divine -- light, cloud-like, and a perfect finish. And of course, the espresso martinis were smooth and perfectly crafted. Service was seamless, the setting is timeless, and every bite felt indulgent in the best way. If you're looking for an elevated dining experience in Miami, The Surf Club delivers on every level.

Does the restaurant still serve beef wellington? If so, when?

Yes. For dinner

What is the difference between banyan and club room?

I believe there are four areas available to book: the bar lounge, club (main indoor dining room), Banyan (new covered outdoor space-with AC!), and the all outdoor area.

We came with the family during the first half of the day and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant specializes in Uzbek and Russian cuisine and is located in a beautiful spot by the lake. There is plenty of parking, and one of the highlights is the outdoor terrace overlooking the water. The view is peaceful and makes for a very relaxing meal. I also loved the entrance design. There's a large decorative mirror surrounded by flowers, and the restaurant's logo is reflected in it. It's a thoughtful detail that immediately creates a welcoming atmosphere and makes a great photo spot. The restaurant was clean, the staff was polite, and service was fast. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly. I ordered a cappuccino, two khachapuri, and accidentally ordered Kharcho soup when I actually meant to order Solyanka. Thankfully, the Kharcho turned out to be delicious, so no regrets! My husband ordered a steak, while the kids were happy with chicken nuggets and fries from the kids' menu. For dessert, I finally got to try the Pavlova that I had seen on their Instagram page, and it did not disappoint. I've also heard that they host live entertainment and performances on weekends, which makes me want to come back and experience the restaurant in the evening. Overall, we left very satisfied and had a lovely family lunch. Thank you, Aida, for welcoming us so warmly. This review is a little overdue, but the visit was memorable and definitely worth sharing.

There is no street parking, valet at 30.00, and the guys were friendly and helpful. We walked through to the hostess and she was very polite and walked us to a table on the beach with a gorgeous view. After you valet, be sure to use the restrooms because it's a journey to and from your table. Now, this is where we thought we were at a self service restaurant. After being seated there was no waiter in sight, the table next to us speaking loud and clear that they have been waiting for their check for over twenty minutes. After 15 minutes, still no server in sight. I got up to go order from the bar, behind me comes our server. He took our order and brought our drinks and that was the end of him. The Pina Colada was a bit too sweet, the rosé, perfect. After we finished our drinks I went in search for our waiter once again. He was nowhere to be found, so I asked another server if we could order a salad, she insisted on finding him for us. Out of nowhere he appeared, and I no longer had any patience. We asked to move tables, for a new server and this is where a true five star service started. We ended with a fantastic, attentive and friendly waiter. He brought us drinks in a timely manner, checked up on us often and reminded us that good service does exist, just not with our first server. Overall, the service needs some serious attention here. We are not sure we would visit again. There are many other places that have great service every time not just sometimes. Cheers!

I have to say that I found the whole experience strange. We were sat at the bar and after consulting with the server because of a gluten allergy, we went with the summer tasting menu with the wine pairings. The server was very personable and on top of her game, so I don't think any of the issues we had were her fault. We ordered cocktails to start. I love Money 47 gin, so I asked for a martini. I was shocked at the end of the night when that cost $48! I understand that it is a premium gin, but that's crazy. We often go to another Michelin-recognized restaurant and their double monkey martini is no more than $30. I asked at the end of our meal because I assumed it was rung in incorrectly, but nope! Also, we did the tasting menu and we were not half way through our cocktail before they pushed the first wine as part of the tasting. It was a prosecco. For an additional $140 for the pairing, I would have expected a champagne. Now to the food. It was mostly good, but not exceptional. For instance, the crudo did not use the best fish. I could not eat two pieces of the fish because it was too tough. This was the first course, and I was immediately put off. The caviar and sauce were very good, but the protein was unacceptable. I said something about it, but no real apology. With this level of experience, I would have expected a manager or chef to come out and say something. The rest of the meal was a mix of highs and lows. The pasta was amazing. The trout was ok. The rabbit was ok, but the rest of the dish was great. For Miami, the service was better than most, but not great. I didn't feel like the severs knew the dishes, but they could recite the ingredients and intentions. I was very much surprised that not one of our glasses of wine was served by the som (was there one?). For us, this restaurant was not equivalent to the price and one time was enough for us.
