The peach cobbler was divine!
Diane H.

If they offer you pickles...say yes! Those were SO good! This is a cute little place. The moment we walked in, they said, "we don't recognize you, where are y'all from?" We could tell everyone seemed to know everyone which meant we had stumbled into a great local favorite. Everyone in our group loved their southern dishes - chicken pot pie, biscuits and gravy, waffles, catfish and grits, and more! Three of us had the peach cobbler while another had coconut cream pie and berry cobbler. It was all super delicious. The waitress and owner were real sweet in answering all our questions, even describing how they can ship those yummy pickles all over the country. Excellent food, spectacular service, and a memorable spot. So glad we discovered it!

Tasty and fairly reasonably priced! I had the caramel French Toast pictured and it was great. The bacon, eggs and fruit all seemed to incorporate high quality ingredients and perfect cook. My daughter had fried fish and grits smothered in a creole gravy along with toast and homemade blackberry jam. She said it was fantastic. Only downside was the chill in the air. If I go back, I'll ask them to turn up the heat. Service was nice and attentive.

My husband and I decided to try the Sugar Kettle Cafe for breakfast today. Located in an old home turned restaurant, we were seated in one of the dining areas and quickly waited on to get beverages and order our meal. I enjoyed the waffle with sausage and my husband had an omelette with a biscuit. The food was displayed beautifully on the plate and delicious. Our only complaint was our food was not hot.

This was a great find- while in the area my friend and I played YELP roulette-- typed in "lunch" near me while driving and it took us here! What a great find and delicious lunch - like going to grandmas house for Sunday lunch - they happened to have tomato pie - and I got the last slice of coconut pie- check out my photos - and get there !

Caramel Drenched French Toast: Super bland grits, warm patties... but flavorful everything else.
Ashley B.

Welp, i had the caramel drenched French toast meal. The french toast was basically the star of the dish as it should. It was served with grits but they were an epic fail. I had a major lump among the little lumps in the grits, they had absolutely no flavor at all. I tried adding salt, but there was no saving the grits so i left them alone entirely. The sausage was a good pair to the toast. I just wish the patties were actually hot. They felt as if they were sitting under a warm light...not fresh. I did have a fruit medley which was pretty good. Unfortunately, i didnt get a chance to try the blue berries since the cup fell off my plate. Note to self:take the cup off the plate before diving in lol. The ambiance was okay... kind of didn't like sitting next to three space heaters, but it is a dated house concept. I love the outside ambience. They should definitely update the inside just a little to give the inside the feel of the outside appearance.

The front has outdoor seating.

We found this restaurant online and it looked cute and sounded good. This cafe does not disappoint. Quaint comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff(Missy was great) and the food was top notch

Good southern soul food menu. Like eating at your grandmas house. Different specials everyday with sweet ice tea and sweet desserts.

The ambiance is nice and cozy. But we always sat in a booth. Sitting at a table indoors next to the back door, I looked around in confusion. At first it felt like someone kicking the back of the seat like on a flight. But then I was trying to move the table and check the chairs, maybe it was an earthquake from the New Madrid fault line. But like a typical NOLA raised home, it was just a hard floor and heavy footsteps. I'll know better next time. But Sundays from 12-3pm is the time to be there. Having to wait for parking was about the hardest part.

This place has been consistent with great food and service (see more later in this review). There…read morewere three of us on a Friday at 6pm and we were seated in under 5 minutes. Our waitress friendly and bubbly was there quickly to take our drink order. She checked on us frequenly. We started with the Boudreaux's egg rolls, they were awesome great texture crispy outside and soft avacado inside with a lot of flavor and great dipping sauce. Next I had the shrimp creole, with a substitute of side for gumbo. Both were very tasty and prepared perfectly, she had the black and bleu salad, the steak was very tasty and bleu cheese, well its bleu cheese and good bleu cheese. Last, we ordered an order of beignet's they were pretty good, a little on the heavy / dense side. The place was a little on the quiet side tonight despite the dining area being pretty full. One thing worth noting, we have noticed on our last two visits here the servers not clearing plates from the table when a persons is obviously finished eating either by the plate being pushed to the side or the universal silverware placement indicating, I am done eating. This time I had to ask her to clear the table before she brought anything else to the table. She was happy to do it, so maybe this timely removal of plates is not obvious, nor has it been explained/ taught by anyone. Service is important, this falls under the basics, if you are headed to the kitchen, do not go empty handed. Just a thought to improve the level of service. We will return.

However, were we're very pleasantly surprised to find that the new ownership, a Jamaican woman is also gluten free and fully intends to expand GF options to include GF onion rings on the appetizer list. She is currently deciding which menu items will be replaced with more requested items. The new owner is a friendly, warm person with a feel for greeting and making diners feel welcome. We were greatly relieved that she has great Jamaican recipes that will add to the otherwise seafood specialties. My wife has been GF for several years and has been unable to enjoy most fried foods including seafood due to wheat flour. However, we were able to enjoy a wonderful GF fried seafood platter and only the hush puppies were not GF. We also had the delicious crab bisque that is also GF. I am fortunate to NOT be allergic to anything so I was treated to a delicious chocolate truffle that is absolutely the best. This delicacy will soon be available GF. If you are looking for a coastal restaurant with GF options in the Mobile or Daphne causeway area, you should try the Elite Pierhouse restaurant. You won't be dissatisfied. Great food, spectacular views and really good service with moderate prices. Not fast food, but really great southern seafood with Jamaican flare.

When you enter, there is a bar and tables in the main dining room and another few tables in the back. The patio allows pets and it has tables and umbrellas. It just feels like you are in for an amazing meal. The menus are on QR codes instead of the chalkboards that were a staple at one point. Anyway, Dragonfly has a cool vibe when you walk into the restaurant. I ordered the vegetable bowl with duck added for protein. Absolutely amazing!!! One of the best dishes that you will eat on the Eastern Shore. We also ordered the Kung Pao Chicken tacos that were fantastic!!! The service was point point, and pair that with extraordinary food and a relaxing ambiance, you get an amazing culinary experience!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The atmosphere is very sports bar esk so don't expect the glam and glitz of a high end stop. We ended up getting the Steak Taco (singular not multiple please note) which was a surprise for the $10 price tag - one taco ? We also opted for the steak on a stick appetizer, this time 2 small portions, you guessed it $10. I am sure this spot will appeal to the financially stable crowd but we found the portions to be small and prices to be large (in comparison). The quality of the food was good, not great. For the premium price we would expect high end taste. At the end of the day, a definate no repeat for us - onward and upward.
