Not only is the food and experience amazing but the staff really makes it special. Our server was Amber M. She was friendly and patient, answering all our questions. A special shoutout to Libby who went above and beyond assisting our wheelchair bound friends. She is an asset to the team.

My coworker and I were in town for a meeting and had dinner 09APR2026 at Felix's Fish Camp on the recommendation of a coworker. Caleb, our wonderful waiter suggested we get the crab soup, which was thick and delicious. I had the fried shrimp and oysters, house salad, and fried green tomatoes, which was so good. My coworker had the red drum blackened with Caesar salad and Mac and cheese. Since it was my birthday tomorrow, we shared a Key lime pie. We had so much leftover food, but seafood doesn't allows reheat well and we were staying in a hotel. Felix's was awesome and we both said if we are in town again, we will eat here again!

Excellent meal in what could've been tourist trap. Genuine Southern hospitality from host and staff on a cold drizzly day in Mobile. We were seated at a window, which overlooked the gloomy shore, but the vibrant warm atmosphere more than compensated. Our server was so friendly, well-informed and patiently advised my vegan husband on the menu and how they could accommodate his needs. All their batters, for example, are vegan as there is no egg. He was able to start with the yummy fried green tomatoes and the special truffle fries, minus the Parmesan topping. They even made him a tasty vegetable pasta with marinara. He was thrilled! I was delighted to try the fried crab claws, crab soup and Petite Bateau (fisherman's platter with fried oysters, shrimp and fish) and all were stellar. Drinks were promptly refilled without being asked, the coffee served piping hot in warmed cups, and the donut holes were a fantastic way to cap a delicious lunch. Highly recommend.

I've been back to this fabulous bay from establishment once again for excellent food and drinks. The service here is first class. They have a fun causal ambience with top notch seafood and steaks. Highly recommend.

Our waiter, Caleb, was personable and gracious. His recommendations were "right on." The lobster soup--couldn't stop eating it! Our entrees: boiled shrimp and sea bass were delightful, as were the sides of succotash, green tomatoes, and the best coleslaw anywhere! I strongly recommend the lemon ice box dessert to complement a perfect meal. Definitely recommended!!

Love the location of this restaurant & the ability to make reservations! However, we went a little before sunset & the restaurant was so hot. I'm not sure if it's where we were seated or what (could have also been because it was Sept. on the coast). Food was good, but not super amazing. Macaroni was mid at best.

My boyfriend and I came in for a date night. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and the best hospitality. The parking lot was full and so was the dining room. Our server Matt and the rest of the staff made us feel like the only people there. The food was EXCELLENT! Literally, the best steak I've ever had! We plan on going back regularly. Matt and the staff made our experience so personal and perfect, we are definitely going to be regulars. We also ordered the oysters casino for an appetizer.... They were so good I forgot to take a picture!

3.5 stars...I don't have half-star technology. It was hit and miss when we went. Place def has character. If you are old enuf to remember the 80s movie Porky's...kinda looks like that from the outside. Party of 6. Can be a challenge when trying to find a table at a busy joint. But, Megan at the front desk hooked us up. Seated in the large bar area. Ambience is cool, views are nice especially around sunset. Service was ok. Prices reasonable. Food was inconsistent. For a fish place, you'd think those dishes would be dialed in. They weren't. A couple of dishes were overcooked. Some dishes came out lukewarm.. Others, though were really good - the soft shell crabs, shrimp and grits (the shrimp were a little overcooked). All in all. A cool place. The food is ok, but I'd say the character and ambience is worth a go.

    It's campy!!!

This is our second time coming to Felix's. Considered trying a new place but why mess with success? This place is gulf coast fish camp at its very finest. I can't believe I didn't write a review last time. Long wait even at 1:00 but we must have bar-karma because both times we've caught a place at the bar still warm from the previous people. I ordered my classic Bloody Mary awaiting the dozen oysters. M ordered one of the fresh catch selections (snapper) blackened. I started with fried green tomatoes which were very good. But I shouldn't have because my oysters were more than I could handle. Biggest oysters I have ever seen. First time I couldn't eat them all and had to get the guy sitting next to me to take four of 'em. They were huge! And absolutely delicious. And only $19 for a bakers dozen. Great value. Absolutely and completely recommend Felix's

Headed back to Texas from a Florida road trip and decided to end our trip with a nice dinner. Felix's Fish camp has some of the most thoughtful and attentive staff! We split our meal since we are on the road are unable to take leftovers, and without asking they split everything for us. So kind and thoughtful! We went on a Monday evening right when the sun was setting and sat in the bar area for their first come first served seating. It's a must now to come back and make a reservation for a water front table. It's such a gem of a restaurant. So much history! Food was spectacular to say the least. Amazing crab soup! I'm so glad we split the pork chop because we would've been stuffed! And that key lime pie was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Thanks again for the amazing experience. We will be back! :)

One of the best restaurants in Mobile, Alabama! I love coming here for either lunch or dinner, the food and service is outstanding! They have live music on Friday nights, make sure you make reservations because it fills up quickly. They allow walk ins and bar seating is first come first serve. If you want to enjoy the live music, opt for the bar seating. Everything I tried is really good from the seafood to the steaks, sides, salads and desserts! All the items are very well priced as well and portions are generous. They offer a 20% military discount as well, can't beat it! Highly highly recommend to check them out!!

However, I also ordered a half dozen fire grilled oysters (pictured), and 5 out of the 6 seemed improperly cleaned because I got a mouthful of shell almost every time. The bread served with them was phenomenal though, perfectly grilled and buttered. My main entrée, the soft shell crab po'boy, was unfortunately awful. It came with 3 pickles, 3 slices of tomato, dried-out iceberg lettuce, and 2 fried soft shell crabs on what was essentially a hot dog bun. The bun couldn't even close properly and looked lazily put together. If the bun had been buttered and grilled like the bread served with the fire-grilled oysters, it easily could've been a 6/10. Add some kind of sauce, and it might've even been an 8/10. Instead, it was dry, flavorless, and only tasted salty from the crab itself. Lori was my waitress and did a great job, so I have no complaints about the service. Unfortunately, great service can't make up for disappointing food. Overall, not close to being worth ~$60, 1/5 and I wouldn't come back.

One star for the hush puppies…read more One star for our friendly server. Sadly, I can only give two stars to Wintzell's House in Mobile, Alabama. I should've listened to all of the advice from the locals on Reddit, who warned me that this place has fallen on harder times. The char grilled oysters were funky. I ate them but worried as I ate them. The hush puppies earned a star. They were pretty tasty. The were my favorite thing on the table. However, we asked for butter, and our server gave us packets of butter substitute. Doesn't this restaurant have real butter? The gumbo was fairly tasteless and also, they had chopped up whatever seafood was in there so finely that it all just turned into mush. If there was any seafood in there, I sure didn't taste it. The West Indies crab salad was a shocking disappointment. It was a scoop of crab meat, which they ruined by mixing it up with mayo. That's it. An ice cream scoop of canned crab meat mixed with heavy mayo. It's like they didn't even try. The bread pudding left very little impression. It was a little rectangular square. Our server misunderstood us when we said we wanted it topped with ice cream, and served the bread pudding alongside a bowl of five scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. It was a very odd dessert situation, but we worked our way through it. Our server was an amusing fella. He kinda/sorta made the evening. Overall, I'm glad I went so I could know for myself. However, I do wish that I had listened to the locals on Reddit.

Next I had the shrimp creole, with a substitute of side for gumbo. Both were very tasty and prepared perfectly, she had the black and bleu salad, the steak was very tasty and bleu cheese, well its bleu cheese and good bleu cheese. Last, we ordered an order of beignet's they were pretty good, a little on the heavy / dense side. The place was a little on the quiet side tonight despite the dining area being pretty full. One thing worth noting, we have noticed on our last two visits here the servers not clearing plates from the table when a persons is obviously finished eating either by the plate being pushed to the side or the universal silverware placement indicating, I am done eating. This time I had to ask her to clear the table before she brought anything else to the table. She was happy to do it, so maybe this timely removal of plates is not obvious, nor has it been explained/ taught by anyone. Service is important, this falls under the basics, if you are headed to the kitchen, do not go empty handed. Just a thought to improve the level of service. We will return.
