My stay at The State Hotel was exceptionally pleasant. First off, it's conveniently located - just a block from Pike's Place. Parking is included (I I think) should you have a car. The garage is just a block away from the hotel with easy in and out privileges. The hotel lobby gorgeous. It's well lit and quite spacious. And each floor has really fantastic wallpaper designed by a local artist. It gives whimsical and fun. I do fear that the room is definitely on the smaller side - though not unusual for boutique hotels. We didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel, so it was just big enough to suit our basic needs. It was quaint and clean. They do have a cute little rooftop where you can grab a drink and catch the sunset. The front staff was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at the State Hotel.

Love the art deco atmosphere and the incredibly comfy bed! Noah, at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful to us two old ladies. (Patient and kind to us with our million questions.) Lots of information upon arrival! The expensive daily parking was a surprise, but I guess we should have guessed this would be an added expense. The rooms are small, but the bathrooms are huge. So, that's a thing. I'm not a huge fan of the open shower concept, but it was a great shower with lots of water pressure and roomy. We had a pretty city view from our room. One thing.... You really can't sit and relax in your room. There's one chair, and it's very tight in there. If you're in your room, you're in your room to sleep. If you're in town to sightsee, this is the hotel for you! It's right smack in the middle of everything you want to see, do, or eat! Short walk to all!

We booked this hotel through a Costco travel deal and were absolutely THRILLED with our stay here. The ambience of the hotel is incredibly chic and cool and the front desk staff were very friendly. Our room was spotless and they came and cleaned our room every single day while we were out sightseeing which was SO nice and a huge bonus for us. The room itself is a little small, but that is to be expected in an older/smaller building downtown. The location itself was also incredible. A Target/CVS right across the sidewalk, a Salt and Straw on the other corner, and right next to Pike Place Market. The restaurant in the hotel (Ben Paris) was also incredibly clean and delicious. The only downsides to this hotel was checking in was difficult as there wasn't really a good place to park and finding the entrance was confusing. The other downside is that there is no on-site parking-you have to park in a garage a little ways down the street and walk to and from the hotel, which although isn't necessarily difficult and is common in a city, is still a little inconvenient. We also had issues with the room service-they had switched over to a new system one day without notifying us and so we placed a dinner order, never received it, and then the restaurant was closed for the evening. We tried a burger another night and it was mediocre. Besides the room and parking-I really was pleased with the hotel in regards to cleanliness and location. Overall we were REALLY impressed and would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel is very convenient. That is pretty much it. The room was decent on the surface, but poorly designed. The hotel had me fill out a "pre registration" form and it outlined a very strange guest policy. They specifically outlined "quiet hours" and other strange "rules" that made it seem more like a dorm or hostel. I tried to ask for a late checkout the night before, but was told I needed to call in the morning to request it. Why would I want to wake up early, if I'm asking for a late checkout? When I did call in the morning, I was told they already have the maximum allowed. I was up early, because there was a loud noise that seemed to be coming from wither the walls or outside of the building near my room. When I told the front desk, they said nonchalantly that it was the birds. Wtf. The gym equipment has a single channel on the tv, if that machine has a tv that works. There was one employee that was exceptional, I don't remember his name, but he went above and beyond each time I had an interaction with him. Or, possibly them. He/they had cute nails. From check in, to helping me find the Hertz location in downtown, this employee was by far the best of the 3 or 4 I interacted with during my stay.

The second room I got after my first had dog hair on the bed! Got punished with a parking lot view.

The State Hotel is a lovely hotel and conveniently located within a 5 minute walk to Pike Place Market. I also wanted a hotel close to the link station drop off. It was a 5 minute walk from there, which I took from the airport! PICTURES BELOW. EXPERIENCE: The lobby is stunning. I was only there a night before a cruise. It's a short 5 minute drive to the cruise terminal! That was in traffic! The restaurant looked great, but I didn't try it. Unfortunately I got a room that was dirty. It had a nice view that I paid for though. There was hair on the bed which was a turnoff. They had me switch rooms. Then I had a view of a parking lot. I tried not to let that bother me. The room was cute. I bought a robe! They are so cozy! Unfortunately there are still dirty features in these rooms. The fans were filthy as well as the blow dryers. The boxed water was $10. Please just give one free water! This hotel deserves a 3 Star Rating for this experience, but I feel like being generous. I will possibly give it a second chance if I'm in Seattle again, simply because the location is ideal. Overall, I loved the hotel! The rooftop terrace at sunset is a must!

Great place! We stayed here a couple of nights in Seattle after an Alaskan cruise. As someone who grew up during the grunge rock era, I have had many ties to Seattle, even though I have never been here before. This hotel is located downtown near the public market, so it is just a few hundred feet away from Pikes Pl., Fish Company, chewing gum, Alley, and a number of other famous sites here on the waterfront. It is also close to the monorail, which makes it very easy to get to the sky needle, the museum of Pop culture, and Chihuly Gardens. Comfortable bed and spacious rooms. Great staff! And a very nice restaurant that is attached to the property. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay here! We were a little late to check in and the front desk was speedy so we could catch the end of Drinking in the Rain event at the Roof Top. The views were incredible and really relaxing. We enjoyed our cocktails that the bartender made and had a great conversation with him. Everything was immaculately clean, stylish, and convenient. The walk to Pike Place was great and we really enjoyed our early morning stroll before leaving for our cruise. This hotel is great, has wonderful security measures to ensure safety, and everyone here is super pleasant. A must if staying in Seattle.

We've stayed here three times now in the last three years - each time we've taken an Alaskan cruise I'm in love with this hotel. The rooms are beautiful you can't beat the location! Literally steps from pikes place - and they hands down serve the best coffee in Seattle (sorry Starbucks but it's true) Ben Paris - their hotel restaurant has delicious food both for breakfast and dinner and is decently affordable in comparison to the over priced places at Pikes Place . I have sent so many of my friends to this hotel when they're headed to Seattle because it's just the most divine hotel!

WOW! The State Hotel for the anniversary win! What an excellent surprise in Downtown Seattle, a gem of a place! Took a chance on our travel plans to Seattle to celebrate our 13th anniversary, and found an excellent priced bundle that included The State Hotel on the itinerary. I just had to go for it! Wifey & I were pleasantly surprised we did! Since it was our anniversary I decided to email The State Hotel ahead of time to ensure a special dinner for us at the restaurant located within the hotel, Ben Paris. Another great experience I will save til next time! I got an email response right away from the general manager Anne that all was ready and the staff was looking forward to our stay. Nice touch! Upon arrival to The State Hotel we were greeted warmly (it was a chilly day LOL) and was told upon checking in they took the liberty of upgrading us to a room that was overlooking Pike Place Market, letting us know it was one of the rooms with the best view! We loved it! And upon getting into the room there was a nice setup of munchies and a card welcoming us and thanking us for celebrating our anniversary with them! Much thanks for the super welcome! The State Hotel is seriously conveniently near the heart of Downtown Seattle - Pike Place Market is literally 80 steps from the hotel entrance, Target is a hop away across the street for your necessities, and the Link Light Rail entrance is a skip away for when you need to go back to the airport! We even had some drama at our stay with The State Hotel! I managed to somehow knock over my wedding ring to the back of the room dresser and couldn't reach it because the dresser is bolted into the floor! I went into panic! But hotel staff to the rescue! The next morning we were leaving on a ferry to Victoria BC so we stopped by early to let them know of my predicament. Front desk staff told me not to worry they'll get maintenance on it. No more than an hour after we left the hotel & we were on the ferry on the way to Canada - I received a text saying that my ring was found and it would be left on a secure spot on the dresser. OMG - what life savers! Totally made me feel at ease the rest of our stay is Seattle. I even love the check out at The State Hotel, most places would give you til 11 AM but they gave us til 12 noon to enjoy our time there! What a difference that hour makes! We were able to conveniently enjoy brunch at Pike Place Market before leaving to the airport. I can't say enough nice things about The State Hotel and it's lovely staff - it was one of our most memorable stays in Seattle, and we do visit often for our anniversary. Seattle is one of my wife's favorite places to visit during this time. It's almost a yearly pilgrimage. I think The State Hotel will be one of our mainstays now when we visit again! I sure hope we get to go again real soon!

Located in downtown Seattle just a few blocks away from Pikes Place Market. There's also a target directly across the street from the hotel. The hotel was really great. Customer service was wonderful. They were polite and courteous and very helpful when asking directions or recommendations for places to go/eat. We even got a discount to the museum of Pop Art from the hotel. Do you have a great restaurant and bar in the hotel which made it convenient and there was also a rooftop patio area and she could hang out at. Overall, our staying was a great experience.

First off, pretty amazing location being directly next to Pike's Place Market. The front desk staff is very professional and courteous. However, they don't offer any Valet services. So if you need it, you're a bit SOL. They have parking at a third party garage at 2nd and Union, but be prepared to have to walk half a block to go grab your car in the morning if you're here for work. The rooms are nice, beds are very comfy, and the bathrooms are spotless. Overall great spot.

Small but clean well kept rooms. Some road noise but otherwise quiet. Loved the beds, were able to get in around 2:30 to our room. Front desk was kind and our bags were checked no problem until the room was ready. Location was good, market is right there. Shower was leaky due to the design but other than that this hotel was great! Would stay here again. Keep in mind these rooms are very small. But totally fine for two people.

Five star experience here! We stayed here on our recent trip and this hotel exceeded our expectations. After a day of road tripping and explore the staff was so accommodating and helped make sure our dinner was ready and waiting for us when we arrived! The hotel and rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and tidy. Their terrace suite was well worth the price for us. We loved having a drink on our private balcony. The convenient and central location just steps away from Pike Place Market was perfect for all the different things we had planned during our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Hand written note saying happy birthday and some great sweets!

The staff definitely leave something to be desired. I found them a mixture of condescending and rude. We requested early check in and where informed our room was not ready. Now on to the room. The room was modestly sized with furniture shoved into every available space. The floors are plastic and cold. TV lost connection no less than 5 times forcing us to miss a few minutes of the show to reboot it. The best part was the bed. Very comfy bed. The comforters they provide are not designed for tall people though. The bathroom was not great. The shower is small with a temp control that sticks causing jumps in water temp. From luke warm to scalding quickly. For men beware the toilet. The water level is so high if you have to sit down to potty you will need to squat or parts might find themselves taking a swim in murky waters if you know what i mean. I would have normally told the staff all of this but the icy frosting on this stay was check out where the staff gave no greeting, didn't ask how the stay was or even express any positive sentiment towards us. In a city full of places to stay don't be fooled by there advertised low price. You end up with a low price experience for a high price in your check book.

He wasn't phased. He had the personality to a wet sock. The manager was running in and out behind the counter. Nothing was happening or being communicated to me. Finally, after a very long wait we were given keys to our room. I asked about any type of breakfast or happy hour. They don't offer any of that. The room has no little refrigerator other than a cooler drawer filled with outrageously priced snacks and alcohol. Good thing we didn't have medications that needed refrigeration. There's no microwave. There's no condiments for coffee or tea. There's a Nespresso maker for those people who enjoy Nespresso. I'm not one who particularly enjoys Nespresso. There were no pods anywhere. I asked for some at the front desk and I was told that it's hidden in the room somewhere. It's Christmas not Easter and I'm not going to play hide and seek for the crappy coffee. The furnishings were modern and cold. We did try the restaurant (All Water) both for dinner and brunch the next day. Service was very slow unfortunately for the restaurant (it took 1.5 hours while the restaurant wasn't busy, and they did forget our side of grilled broccolini until after we finished our meals/reminded them). We tried the tuna hamachi crudo, clams and mussels, roasted hen of the woods and grilled broccolini. The tuna hamachi crudo was good, though I was hoping for more brightness in the flavor. I enjoyed the clams and mussels as well as the roasted hen of the woods overall, but felt the grilled broccolini was a little too dry (seemed grilled without any oil or seasoning). We did also try a few seasonal mocktails which were delicious and the highlight of the meal. Brunch the next day was take out and we went with a steak and eggs and a caesar salad. Both were solid, but note that the caesar salad came with actual little sardines, so for those picky eaters, this may be a bit much.

The main issues I had were as follows: - A lot of the "extra perks" disappeared. When I checked in last time, I was greeted warmly and gifted a glass of champagne. I don't expect that exact thing every time, but when staying at a premium hotel like this, little things really make the experience a lot more enjoyable. It felt starkly different this time in terms of the service and generosity -- much more generic. - My room was far noisier than my previous visit. I'm not sure what changed, but I could hear noises from other units and from the street much more loudly this time. - On noise, the AC unit in my room this time was much noisier as well. Generally speaking, I still think this is a great hotel, but I had a disappointing experience this time vs my prior stay. I will give it another shot next time, but with caution.

The provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion worked well and had a nice light citrusy scent. There was a Keurig machine in the room; not my jam but helpful in a pinch. We always got stocked with dark roast coffee pods, which is my preference, whoo. Also an empty mini fridge which we were able to use for beverages and leftovers. The 7th floor has a nice little seating area outside the bar where I was able to get some quiet work done one weekday, and the outdoor terrace offers a mountain view on clear days. The fitness center is small: just two treadmills, one recumbent bike, an elliptical, a peloton, and many dumbbells, but I had no problem getting a treadmill run in each morning before 9 am. Water bottle fillers on floors 1 and 4 were super convenient, too. The valet parking is very convenient but pricy. You might want to check Spot Hero or similar to see if you can get a better deal on parking nearby. The greeters always opened the door for me, the check-in desk staff were courteous and always had a smile, and the checkout process was also quick and ended with an invitation to return to the property the next time I'm in Seattle. As soon as I stepped out of my Uber upon initial arrival, a staff member walked up to open my door and asked if I needed help with my bags. My room was comfortable in every aspect. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch. In general, every staff member I encountered was pleasant, eager to help, and always smiled and made eye contact when speaking with me. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and have no complaints. This property is one of the top 2-3 Four Seasons hotels I have stayed at over the past several years. I would wholeheartedly stay here again!

Upon entry to the room, I was greeted with a small (and delicious) cake, sparkling wine, and a handwritten card with bday wishes. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. In the morning at the lobby, they had local coffee and mini-donuts or muffins. In the late afternoon in the lobby, they had pink lemonade and snacks (gummy bears, brownies, nuts/dried fruit). Location was a quick 5 min walk to Pike Market which was a fun place to pick up souvenirs made by local artisan to bring home. So much good food as well (Sushi Koshiba, Place Pigelle, The Pink Door, Piroshky Piroshky)

The downtown area, Pike Place market, the overlook deck, all were within 10 minutes walking distance. Despite arriving few minutes past midnight, our check-in process was easy. The room was well furnished. All amenities in the room and bathroom worked fine. Our room had a balcony with full glass window. Since the building was U shaped, all the rooms from other side could see our room, and vice versa. So, the setup was not best privacy wise, we had to use the curtains most of the time. But we got a gorgeous view of the pear and mountain range from the room. The lobby area also had wonderful interior and plenty of areas to sit. The hotel had M lounge where we were able to get snack and drinks throughout our stay. There was one restaurant adjacent to the hotel and a bar as well that appeared to get busy around dinner hours. All staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had gym and pool as well. The pool was split into half indoor and half outdoor. The water was bit warm, so despite the weather being chili outside, we were able to use the pool. But the disappointing part the floor area around the pool was so under maintained. There were cracks, dirt, uncovered holes, things that I had rarely seen for a Marriott hotel. Our room was also next to a portion of the building's roof that had bird poop, dirt, and weed. Though we had a wonderful time staying at this hotel, some these minor factors were sore eye to the experience.

I called reservations who said they would allow me to move the reservation to another night for $800 and waive the cancellation fee $500. The front desk stooge said no, they would not waive the fee. So a Platinum member who always shows up, never complains literally can't get to the hotel and even partial refund. Bullshit. I will NEVER stay at your half ass hotel.
