We had a reservation and arrived just early. The place was full. It is nicely organized and clean. We were eventually seated near our reservation time. Nichole was our server and did an excellent job. She checked in frequently and made sure we had everything we wanted. The food was very good. We shared some appetizers. The whipped feta and carpaccio were both excellent. Some of our dishes are shown and everyone was very pleased with their meals.

Kathryn was amazing. We arrived a little late for our reservation but they were able to seat us right away. I ordered the Brussels sprouts to start. They were delicious. I ordered the 14oz strip and it was amazing. The creamed corn was awesome. The old fashion was unbelievable.

We arrived to find the place absolutely packed--turns out it was prom night, and the wait time was three hours. Thankfully, John, the General Manager, went above and beyond to accommodate us. He managed to work us in within 10 minutes by rearranging a few things. We let him know we'd be done in an hour, and he agreed. Just five minutes later, he came back over and told us to take our time, which we really appreciated. The food? Absolutely incredible. Chef Jeff clearly has a deep passion for his craft--you can taste it in every bite. The portions were generous (some of the best we've seen in years) and the price points were more than fair. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highlights of the night: The best pasta I've ever had--shrimp, fresh tomato, garlic butter, and a panko crust topped with a rich butter sauce. A perfectly cooked pork chop with mushrooms and collard greens. A refreshing raspberry mocktail. A classic, delicious dirty Shirley--simple and tasty. And don't even get me started on the deviled eggs... amazing! We truly loved our time here and can't wait to return. Huge thanks to John for making it happen--next time we'll definitely call ahead! Five stars all around.

Went here for a birthday celebration and everyone was so nice. They all signed a birthday card that was on the table when we got there. Got there a little early so we started with a drink at the bar. The smoked olive is a must get. The olives were the best I've ever had. Still thinking about them. We got seated in a room that looks like it could hold a private dinner party. For dinner we got the mussels for an app. So good. Dipped the bread in the sauce. Comes with a lot. A good shareable. Since it was a first time we wanted to try the steaks. We got the filet with butter add on. We also added on brussel sprouts and polenta. Filet was cooked to perfection. Polenta was creamy and sprouts had a good char. This review is getting too long but we just had the best time and the service made it even better. Cannot wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.

The food is certainly outstanding and they have a signature crabcake that cannot be beaten. But prior restaurants in that location have had good food. It's the People. All of the staff seem to have wonderful energy. They are positive, engaging and seems like they really want to serve and give a great customer experience. They do that. Very well. It has an upscale, big city buzz without all the pretense. Pricey, but far from shocking. Very nicely done.

We've been a few times now, and I would say the food is consistently very good. There have only been a couple of misses. And one time when the waiter dropped a bunch of glass on my husband. The owners are very hands-on as are the managers. They take a lot of pride in the work that they're doing, and it shows in their social media marketing and in the food that they present. I've never had an ugly meal at The Standard. And I crave their veal parm constantly.

While it's too early to declare this is our new favorite restaurant in Toledo, since we've only been once, the Standard immediately removes some of our favorite spots from our 'go-to' list, because after trying the Standard's food, it's hard to imagine how other restaurants can compare. The cook on my wife's filet with bearnaise sauce, something she gets any time she can, was perfect, and some of the best she's ever had. Same with my short rib, a dish I've likely had seventeen million times, but at the Standard, I fell in love with it all over again. And to top it off, the garlic bread? We all love garlic bread, right? We've all had some that we think is the best... maybe we even have a special recipe for the world's best garlic bread at home? Doesn't matter what you think is good, you must try the Standard's garlic bread, made with locally produced "all crumbs" bread. It is, without a doubt, the most flavorful and decadent garlic bread of your life. All of that aside, the service is exceptional, from the host to the server, to the follow-up email making sure you had a great time. The Standard gets it and has immediately become our standard, for a perfect night out in Toledo.

First time here but heard so many good things about this restaurant. I had a work dinner & everyone really enjoyed their food.

I came here for a solo date and was wowed by everything this restaurant has to offer. They had a wonderful cocktail and food menu, but all the while the staff was amazing. I sat at the bar and ordered the Trophy Wife featured cocktail. The taste was fruity and balanced perfectly. For food I ordered the mussels and the beet salad. Both were absolutely devine. The flavor of the mussels were perfect and the bread it came with had the perfect crunch to soak in the sauce. The beet salad came with rock course salt, balsamic, pomegranate seeds and whipped goat cheese. It has every flavor needed to make his dish a great salad. For dessert, I ordered an affogato of course. If anyplace offers an affogato, I order it. But this one came with an orange liquor/digestif. The meal was amazing. The bartender and manager were checking in with all tables and always offering assistance. I cannot talk highly about this place enough. Amazing.

9.5/10 Great upscale Restaurant. I recommend for Date nights or Adult Nights. I wouldn't really recommend for children. The setting is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The food was great! The drinks were great and pretty strong! Service was everything. Very very Welcoming! A must Try!

It was our first time visiting The Standard and we loved it! We sat at the bar with a friend as we didn't have reservations. It was a busy Wednesday night during the holidays! We ordered the pan fried feta cheese that comes with garlic bread. It was amazing flavors and the garlic bread is perfectly crunchy. For dinner, my husband had the shrimp which he devoured. All the flavors worked well together. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which come with 3 good sized meatballs separately in a bowl and then the spaghetti twirled about in a long plate, love a good presentation! It was spicy but delicious. The bartenders provided excellent service and even though they were busy, we didn't have to wait long for anything. I'm excited to return to try something else and a cocktail!

The food here was phenomenal! Absolutely delicious the steak was slightly undercooked but not too big a deal. The cocktails were boozy and tasty. I got the miso sea bass which was absolutely delicious. The spinach & mashed potatoes came with the fish but since we were sharing everything we requested ours plated separate which they were happy to accommodate. The sea bass is probably the best I have ever had, it was that good! The service was amazing! I would definitely make a reservation this place was packed and for good reason.

Our first visit to The Standard Restaurant was on a Friday night following Christmas. It was my wife's birthday. It seemed that many tables were celebrating a birthday. Our reservation was at 5p, and it was relatively busy. We split a Wedge salad. It was excellent. We both had petit filets. Also excellent. My wife had mashed potatoes as a side. I had polenta. We probably could have split one side, but we managed to finish both. They were good. Being my wife's birthday, the waitress provided her several dessert options. We split the raspberry cheesecake. Good choice. We thought the service was excellent. We'll be back.

To my surprise the parking lot is packed and there's nowhere to park. No signs or anything indicating you can park around the back as I found out later so I ended up parking in the lot next door. They only have a few chicken items on the menu. One chicken sandwich and one roasted chicken dinner. I got the chicken sandwich which is the Hyde park. This is the same exact sandwich I've gotten every time I've ever been here which is why I really haven't come back because there's not a lot of selection for me. The other reason is they got rid of the croissants on the menu LOL. The service was fast and friendly and there was about a medium sized crowd inside despite the parking lot being full. They have kind of a dark semi romantic atmosphere I guess they're going for. The chicken sandwich was nice and tender. I'm not a fan of the shoe string fries because they remind me of Steak and Shake and at this price point I think they should have some good fries here. They actually had a few craft beers on tap but I thought the cocktail prices were a little extreme at 15 plus. My girl got the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and the potatoes were ice cold so they lose a star for that. Other than that I have no complaints except that the pricing for lunch. $20 for a chicken sandwich is a bit much to me.

I had been to this restaurant more than a month ago and thought I had already posted a review…read more.. But since I couldn't find a review, here goes based on my memory. My friend had recommended Longhorn because of a very positive experience and so I agreed to give it a try. We normally meet for an early dinner, so I didn't think reservations were necessary (and am not sure if the restaurant takes reservations), but it was very crowded when we arrived. There wasn't too long a wait for a table, but service wasn't fast - which was okay for my friend and me because we were busy catching up with each other. The ambiance is that of a typical low-lit steakhouse. I recall that it was pleasant but nothing over the top memorable. We had a leisurely dinner and both ordered the salmon dinner. Both were pleased with our entrees. In comparison to other local restaurants, the salmon was very slightly below the meal I had at one restaurant but definitely above a salmon meal at another restaurant that would be considered by many to be higher level (and more expensive). We had a very nice experience dining at the Talmadge Road restaurant in Toledo and I would definitely recommend it. Sorry that I didn't take photos; we were hungry by the time our dinners were served!

We arrived with a party of 10 people (6 adults & 4 children), looking forward to dining together to celebrate my sons birthday. However, we were refused service on the basis of our group size. While I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding large parties, the way the situation was handled felt dismissive and lacking in accommodation or effort to offer alternatives. There was no attempt to seat us other than they told us we could sit in separate sections. Good customer service includes making reasonable efforts to accommodate guests or, at the very least, communicating policies clearly and courteously. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration to improve how similar situations are handled in the future.

We joined the waitlist at approximately 4:02 p.m. and arrived at the restaurant around 4:30 p.m. When we checked in, the original hostess acknowledged that the quoted wait time was around an hour and 25 minutes, but specifically told us that the restaurant was "moving much faster than expected" and that we would "be seated by 5:00 p.m. at the most." Based on that assurance, we stayed and waited patiently. At approximately 5:05 p.m., we checked again and were told it would be another 20 minutes. Then, at approximately 5:32 p.m., after already waiting well beyond the promised seating time, we checked yet again and were suddenly told the wait had increased to another 35 minutes. That is completely unacceptable. We had children with us. My wife was understandably upset, and we stood outside for well over an hour receiving inconsistent and misleading information the entire time. Had we been given honest expectations from the beginning, we could have made other arrangements instead of wasting our evening standing outside with our family. What is even more remarkable is that we finally received a text message at 6:22 p.m. telling us our table was ready. That was literally an hour and a half after the hostess assured us we would be seated by 5:00 p.m. upon our arrival. The issue is not simply that there was a wait -- restaurants get busy. The issue was the repeated inaccurate updates and assurances that turned out to be completely false. After all of this, we ultimately had no choice but to leave without ever being seated. This experience was extremely frustrating and left a very poor impression of your restaurant and its management of reservations and wait times. Because of this experience, we will not be returning to this location.
