    Thanksgiving menu

We went for thanksgiving dinner. It was buffet style with a large assortment of different dishes. Turkey, prime rib, Swedish meatballs, beef burgundy, tons of sides, salads and desserts. For the holiday they seat you in the banquet room. I appreciated the fact they leave you enough room to maneuver your way through the tables to get to the buffet. Totally worth the $34.99 not to have to prepare food or clean up. My only suggestion would maybe be a few more toppings for your salad and a few more salad dressings, but that's only because I love salad.

    menu for easter sunday buffet

Cafeteria food with no flavor. Best way to describe the food. We went for Easter which was a buffet so I believe we got a good selection of their food here. Breakfast is probably made to order so may be why it gets better reviews. I posted a pic of the Easter buffet offerings so you have an idea. The only hot food that was replenished during our hour n half visit was the fried fish which was like fried fish strips. Mac n cheese was made with rigatoni noodles. Everything seriously just needed to be seasoned and I used the salt n pepper liberally. Desserts were obviously frozen stuff. Drinks included were koolade(no sugar) and watered down lemonade. Table service was basically for water and alcoholic drinks. No chardonnay and no pinot grigio. 20% gratuity added for 2 folks. Not advertised anywhere. So $80 for food that seriously reminded me of high school again. Had to apologize to my sweetie pie. We went for pizza at Village Idiot

I had an excellent entree at a reasonable price. I had the stroganoff for my first meal here and was delighted. They serve a more than generous portion and the dish was flavorful. The vegetables were cooked fully and seasoned precisely. The lobster bisque was good but nothing worth any awards. I give the bartender Karen 5 stars alone... Superb customer service. She was very efficient and paid attention to details. I'll be trying a steak next time or possibly one of the gourmet burgers. I'll dine here again.

We seated quickly seated and our drinks was taken quickly by a pleasant and friendly server. Nice menu with many BBQ items and some nice alternatives too. My wife had the rack of ribs and said it was among the best she has had in Toledo, I had the Pick 3 Special, a bowl of Gumbo ( spicy and very good ) a pulled chicken, bacon and cheese sandwich ( again very good) and some really nicely done French Fries... all in all worth try , tasty food and good service...

Damn near a hit. if they could just get the kitchen together regarding temperature and consistency. They would be slaying. Let's talk about what is good... The environment. It just feels like a place you want to sit down and eat a rack of ribs. It's clean, modern, and inviting. It is cool to see what they have done with the old black pearl. Our waitress was excellent! She was fast, attentive, and warm. I can't speak enough about the service. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, we were truly waited on. We had drinks, we had our food extremely fast, and even when there was an issue with our meal, the manager came right over. (I didn't ask, the waitress brought her over when she noticed our untouched ribs and potato) If our food had been as warm as our staff, they would probably be sitting on closer to five stars Let's talk about the gumbo. The flavor was great! However, the rice inside of it was severely undercooked. It was crunchy in places. Some of it was cooked, however, there were multiple clumps of uncooked (I can't even call it undercooked) rice. And it wasn't hot. My husband can eat piping hot food, I am talking about tea right out of the kettle... But I am not so fortunate. I started to blow on the soup and he laughed at me and said it wouldn't be necessary. To be fair, it was his gumbo, but he was right. It wasn't hot. It was barely a notch above warm, which makes me concerned about things like foodborne illness. But because the sausage, the chicken, and the roux were so damn good. I ate around it and decided to risk it. Next out, the ribs and brisket combo and my husband's wings. The wings were great. Zero notes except they flew off the bone into my husband's mouth faster than I could even get to my food. The brisket wasn't hot, but I don't expect it to be after it's rested so I will give that a free pass. My baked potato couldn't melt the butter. I also gave that a free pass since I planned on taking it home. But when I dug into my ribs, they were cold. And I don't mean warm, I mean cold. The surface was warm but by the bone was like they were out of the refrigerator. They had a decent flavor, but when ribs are that cold, they are a bit tough. Our waitress brought out a fresh rack, but by then I had already eaten my way through half of my husband soup, part of his meal, and my brisket so I ate one knuckle and took the rest home. I would come back for the atmosphere, the wait staff, and the flavor... But I hope execution gets cleaned up because I probably wouldn't come back a third time if I had a similar experience. I love eating local, and I hope they have a better run than the black pearl. The portions are generous, the pricing is more than fair. They do a lot of daily and happy hour as well as late night specials. Also, when I go to a barbecue spot, I want a bread option. I know this is me being a spoiled carb princess... But nothing sets me up for a good meal like some cornbread or dinner rolls. Lastly, I hope they end up bottling and selling some of their sauces locally. Their Carolina mustard base barbecue was stellar and the hot barbecue just as good.
