I thought the ambiance was a B+ They do a good job trying to make things cozy and intimate. Just a tad rushed. I think it's nicer to bring the entree after I'm done eating my salad not during. There was a hiccup with communication concerning my South African lobster tail. I wanted the entree just not two tails. So she had to bring my potatoes 5-10 mins after I got my lonely tail. I must say the tail was done better than anyplace ever. It's steamed. Perfectly cooked. The meat was sweet. We took home the flourless chocolate cake to eat during our movie afterwards at home and it was fantastic. I would definitely go back. Also, the salad dressing was so delicious and homemade.

I've made it to a few of Macy's locations, but have been eager to try the Bluewater location. This place was extremely nice and the food was just a great. This was our first nice dinner out with our little one so we asked to be seated in a corner. The bread was devine and our Caesar salad was so good. I ordered the sea bass and my fiancé ordered the scallops with risotto. Our daughter absolutely loves his risotto he hardly got to eat any! The food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect for our first nice meal out with our little one.

    Deon, our server extraordinaire!

Deon, our server, was so enthusiastic that it started us off having a lively dinner. We had the coconut and bang bang Sunday shrimp dinners and some of the best key lime pie ever! Deon makes a killer Arnold Palmer, and there bread is just scrumptious! A favorite travel dinner for my husband and me in our way home to Wisconsin from West Virginia.

Of course this place didn't disappoint. Greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter was top notch. Guided us through the menu. The salmon was solid. The blackened swordfish was excellent. The crab cakes was a solid choice. The atmosphere was very nice. It was dark but not to dark. Can't wait to come back! Hopefully next time I can save room for desert.

We decided to go out for dinner for New Year's Eve a couple days prior. I thought my search wasn't going to bear any fruit, and I went through an app to make a reservation for us at Bluewater Grille. They had nothing available - ugh! My gf had previously had dinner here with a friend and told me how much she enjoyed it. I have never been to Bluewater, so I thought this experience together would be a great way to "ring in the new year". I called the restaurant just to see if there was any way I could schmooze someone in to getting a reservation. No schmoozing required, I made a reservation. Yay! Our reservation was set for 7:30pm and we had options from a chef's choice menu of a salad, starter (appetizer), main course, and a side if your main course allowed for one. There were a few drinks to choose from on the chef's choice menu and of course, dessert was also made available to cap off a wonderful meal. Our server (Meagan) was absolutely wonderful in making suggestions based on our likes as well as providing us with her engaging personality. The food was excellent and our experience was made even better by our server, Meagan. I had requested a booth when I made the reservation and we were seated in the bar with about the only perfect view of the televisions, so we were able to catch parts of both the Big 10 teams represented in the college football playoffs. Unfortunately, neither Ohio State or Michigan will be moving on. I am a huge college football fan, so being able to catch bits and pieces of both games during our dining experience at Bluewater Grille was a bonus. As mentioned previously, the fixed menu selections were many viable options making it a difficult choice for an entree. The food was very good, the ambiance was just right and not very loud with a few fan outbursts during the games, and I hope Bluewater Grille knows and appreciates the value of stellar employees like our server, Megan. What a great way to bring 2022 toa close and look forward to the new chapter in 2023.

I remain deliciously happy with Bluewater Grille. The Ahi Tuna is an absolute favorite, and the seasonal oyster selection is also amazing. Much like my previous review, we had a reservation for two, and I was somewhat disappointed we were seated in the bar area. We'd planned ahead to have a great night, and the bar was loud and didn't lend itself well to a reserved, intimate dinner. Honestly my only let down with this place remains being seated.

Definitely YES here for really good foods and drink. Starting with club soda no ice, large glass white moscato. Crab cakes and scallops being prepared. Nice setting and seating inside or outside, if you're a picnic person. Not me. Crab cakes were excellent. Two larger size. All very lovely ladies attending customers Scallops...are pretty good. Rather small size of portions and the scallops also rather small. Nothing wonderful but real good.

This is our second Anniversary that we have spent here and I will say the food and service does not disappoint. I will say I found out today that they have wheat in their risotto which is disappointing as it isn't needed and makes it not GF, luckily I was a able to get an amazing dish regardless. Though I urge the management to take the wheat out of the risotto dish. Still my BBQ Sea Bass was amazing in flavor and texture. We drive here from MI and it's worth the drive for special occasions. Highly recommend and enjoy the dark/low lit ambiance.

Stopped in for a celebration. As always, service was very good. My wife had their scallops with lobster risotto and asparagus while I had the sea bass with leek mashed potatoes and string beans. I also had the lobster bisque. The bisque was excellent with a little spice and not that heavy floury flavor of most bisque. My sea bass was amazing as I did the simply seared option. Highly recommended. The scallops were good along with the risotto but our food came out quickly before we had finished out soup and salad so it was cool when we ate it. Drinks were awesome with an excellent selection available. Creme Brulee was amazing...wow! Expensive but would go back for sure.

Ask the Community - Mancy's Bluewater Grille

I'll be visiting there in October; what restaurants would you recommend for a person with food allergies (no MSG , no Woods, no sugars)?

I'm not sure but my impression of the restaurant is that if you inform them they can prepare the food accordingly.

We arrived 45 minutes before closing, and the host asked if we'd like to sit in the bar where they offer the full menu. Saying yes was fine until the last 15 minutes. A better choice would have been to sit in the dining room. We started off with drinks, V ordered a Mai Tai, and I had a Tequila something or other. The drinks tasted good, if I were a betting person, I'd say that they touched the ice with alcohol, and that's about it. I don't drink very often, so I always know if a drink contains a meaningful amount of alcohol. They brought out a warmed puff bread. It was unique for sure, and tasted good too. Our appatiser was Lobster Tail served on a bed of vinegar-based coleslaw with miso or something similar. The flavors worked together fabulously. V's entree was a beef stir fry. He said it was ok, but nothing special. He also ordered the Smoked Gouda & Rosemary Mac & Cheese with bacon. That side dish was very tasty, but overpowered my entree, though it paired well with his beef. I had the Miso Halibut, which came over with Sweet Chili Bok Choy and Jasmine Rice. This entree had perfectly paired flavors; I'd certainly like to have it again. Our waitress was friendly and attentive; we couldn't ask for better service. Sitting in the bar wasn't a good idea as in the last 15 minutes a loud-mouthed womanizing man started sharing his conquests with six other people.

All of the food was amazing, but hands down the table favorite was honestly the whipped feta. It's what dreams are made of! It had a slightly spicy oil topper, and delicious crostini! The only note I would give, is that the bacon appetizer really needs to come with a steak knife for sharing. It was a little too hard to cut with just the butter knife. Steaks and sides are all prepared perfectly, the button mushrooms were a hit as well. I would completely recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will return again if I'm back in the area.

It was pleasant in a basic way- nothing amazing but nothing horrible. We were seated at a table to accommodate 12 people. Our server was Ray. At the beginning, he was on top of our drink and entree orders. Throughout, he did a good job of keeping our orders straight. Toward the end of our meal, it seemed that he was busy with other tables and it took a while to get our checks and check us out. However, he still kept our credit cards straight in returning them to the correct person. For the the food... One half of our table didn't have a great experience but the other half enjoyed their meals. Those who ordered the Tuscan grilled chicken were happy and took leftovers home. Unfortunately I was on the half that had a disappointing experience. My friend across from me had lobster ravioli. She said the entree wasn't warm and the sauce was very thin and watery. The friend next to me ordered stuffed mushrooms but was subsequently told the restaurant was out of mushrooms... Really?! She then selected a salad with shrimp and a side of broccoli. She found her entire meal inedible- shrimp on the salad weren't totally cooked and she found the broccoli cold- as if frozen and not totally defrosted. Another friend had a shrimp caesar salad and I had a chicken caesar salad. My friend didn't care for her salad because it was overly salty. I didn't enjoy mine either. The chicken was overcooked and difficult to cut. Plus, I agreed with my friend about the saltiness of the salad, both the salad/chicken and the caesar dressing. I ate what I could and didn't take home leftovers. I personally have no desire to ever return to this restaurant and can't recommend it. The prices were very expensive and lacked quality. In fairness, the 3 star rating reflects the half of the table that enjoyed the Tuscan grilled chicken.

For your date night - find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money such as the standard or the registry bistro in Toledo. Your dollar will go further and you will leave much more satisfied. We were disappointed and still left hungry after a ~$160 tab, before tip, for two entrees and a glass of wine each ($13 and $14 each for cloudline Pinot and stag cab). Avoid the crab cakes - shell-like stuff in literally every bite with hardly any flavor down to the aioli, small portion at $24 it is not worth your money. Unfortunately had a fishier bite that really was disappointing. This was my first time that I have ever sent a plate back, which we were comp'd for sort of - server said it was removed but the total bill was still somehow $10 or so over the cost of items ordered. The filet was $66, it was well cooked at medium rare however it was cold at the time it got to the table, the " local mushroom risotto" was more of a pilaf - not your usual savory unctuous dish, and green beans were al dente however, there were only about 10 of them. I don't mind spending money on an expensive steak but for $66 I expected a great, hot steak with well done sides. The miso sea bass was well cooked and probably the most redeeming part of the meal. The specialty cocktail list is majority vodka based. Not the "top shelf" bar experience that you'd be used to if coming from Detroit area or the registry or even Hannons block in downtown Toledo. Overall, I recommend looking somewhere else for your date night, there are great places in the Toledo area to be enjoyed.

There's a bar on one side with a wall separating it from the "dining room" but there are windows so you can see over. There were chairs stacked up in the corner next to a defunct retro game. It felt like I was in the basement of an Elks club in the 80s. All it was missing was a cloud of smoke and a pull tab machine on the wall. It was us and another couple that I overheard say was also their 1st time in. The waitress said the prices for all steak and chops were $5 more than the menu. Bringing my steak to $33. We became very concerned when a nervous cook kept popping in and out of the kitchen accompanied by the sound of a microwave door opening and closing several times. The neighboring couple asked what was good and the waitress just stared reading the menu off. My husband ordered a burger and fries. The burger looked pretty good and the fries were hand cut but there were only about 10 of them. My steak was cooked appropriately and tasted good but 50% of it was fat so that was disappointing. It was served with the Veg of the day (a mixed bean blend) and a small baked potato. The beans were watery didnt have a speck of seasoning or butter on it. It looked like something youd see on a tray at the old folks home. The potato was small for a baked potato but adequate. The waitress had also asked if we'd like bread.
