Like Fen said, good luck finding this place based on the address. The pleasantly declarative "You have arrived" from my car's nav system took place in front of what I took to be a hospital grounds. There's nothing close to the road; it's all back a few hundred meters on a windy driveway. What exists at this address is actually the University of Toledo medical center (right) and a Hilton hotel (left). The restaurant is inside the hotel. At first I thought that their slick, over-animated website had sold me a bill of goods. There was NOBODY else there. Restaurant pickings on Sunday night in Toledo are slim, so I thought that I had lucked out to find a legitimate, classy restaurant with top-notch food and a swanky vibe. Nope. It was handsome in that hotel-restaurant way, so there was no impediment to enjoying my meal but nothing to sell the place either. And the absence of other diners is usually a strong point, but nobody wants to walk into a completely empty restaurant, right? Thankfully, the food redeemed them. Lamb chops, B+: You can tell that these weren't the choicest cuts of meat, but they were prepared very nicely in a rosemary and red-wine demiglace. Very tasty. Calamari, B: Fried squid is always worth eating, but there is definitely good calamari and mediocre calamari. This avoided mediocrity by sporting a lighter batter and being served with a savory, chunky marinara. Thai cashew rolls, C: The weak link. I had forgotten that they had cashews and thought that there were crunchy chunks of carrot in the rolls. There was something unpleasantly creamy inside the roll, almost like cream cheese. It wasn't listed on the ingredients for this dish, though. The sweet chili sauce saved this dish from being a total wash. Crab cakes, A: The star of the meal. These were some of the best crab cakes I've ever tasted, and that's saying something. In Toledo, OH? Yes! Simple--just crab meat and a few vegetables, still mostly crunchy. No bullshit fillers or flavorings. There was a lemony sort of dressing which set off the crab cakes (and the accompanying salad) very well. Delicious. read more

Dinner was a great value- ate in bar lounge area. Burgers were delicious, seasoned fries were okay. Margarita on weak side, but house specialty martini was really good. Bartender friendly and quick. Breakfast, however is another story. I expected this from reading reviews. Took awhile to be acknowledged, then told to seat ourselves and go to buffet since we had breakfast coupons. Buffet was typical free hotel breakfast. They should put coffee and water out to serve yourself- was not given a drink until after done with meal. As a hotel guest, i tried to order toom service, but the restaurant was closed. At 915 pm. The breakfast buffet was closed too. No guests at the hotel they said to me (a guest at the hotel). That said, i got a pretty fair egg white omelette, from a waitress who seemed amazed tHst i would expect the restaurant to be open at all. True rust belt attitude. read more

I had meant to check out 31 Hundred a couple of weeks ago, so when my GPS led me to Star Diner then, I wrongfully assumed that the system simply had a mind of its own. However, 31 Hundred is indeed located at 3100 Glendale Avenue; it's just located adjacent to the Hilton. I made a second trip back to catch up with an old friend from high school over lunch and am pretty glad I did; it truly is a hidden gem. The lunch menu is somewhat limited mostly to salads and sandwiches, with a few appetizer options. I personally was wavering between the Asian Chicken Salad and the Signature 31Hundred Burger, but opted for the former since salad sounded like a better choice on a humid afternoon. Ronnie also had a hard time choosing between the Portabella Burger and the Warm Goat Cheese Salad and went with the latter for the same reason. My salad came out looking more like a chicken entree since it was chock-full of chicken with a few measly pieces of lettuce. Works for me! The plum sauce complimented everything else (cashew, bamboo shoots, grapes, etc.) quite nicely and it was a refreshing change overall. It might even mark my return to ordering and eating salad too. Ronnie's salad came with a chunk of goat cheese and two large croutons; it seemed like he enjoyed it just as much minus the rock hard croutons. Prices are fairly decent (averaging ~$10 for lunch), although I plan on checking out their breakfast buffet and dinner menu sometime in the near future. I had to dock off a star for the service, which was a bit slow; we were led to a table 20 minutes after arriving when there wasn't anyone else waiting and only one other table of diners. Came for a 6 hour workshop and stayed for lunch. Had the Garbage salad. Not as good as Grumpy's but decent. A reasonably priced buffet was also available. Came back 2 weeks later and had a Reuben and a panini turkey artichoke with provolone. Sandwiches were good but a little greasy. This place is a good option if you are at UTMC and are tired of the cafeteria. Service was a little slow with only 2 customers in the dinning area. read more

I ate breakfast and lunch here today. Breakfast was a standard buffet. Everything was fresh. The food was fine. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was open and has a lot of natural light. For lunch I had a sandwich and salad. Both were kind of bland and the sandwich was a little dry. I highly enjoyed the pickle that came with the sand which though! Overall, I was satisfied with my experience. I wasn't expecting to be astounded by the culinary experience. Convenient for sure...It was nice to have the restaurant in the hotel so I wouldn't have to deal with finding one. read more

For years, I've come here every xmas for dinner, as it seems to be one of the only restaurants in Toledo that could reasonably be described as approaching "fine dining." As other diners have mentioned, this place is always beautifully appointed and pretty empty, which is a bummer. The servers are great as is the service. I have never had a bad meal here. I love the Thai cashew spring rolls, the warm goat cheese salad, the soups, the duck. The cocktails are excellent. Come here on a date or a special occasion. You won't have trouble getting reservations for xmas, either. read more

Older lady waitress was very confused and moved in a slow motion. Got about 50% of our orders wrong. Lady had a very strong "essence of old lady". Told children at our table that were of age to order off the children's menu, that if they wanted to order off that menu they would have to pay adult price with less food. Did not refill beverages. Chicken Alfredo is good. Too much chicken for the average liking. read more

As room service/dining goes, this is pretty darn good for a hotel-associated restaurant. Their breakfasts are the typical buffet-style; however, they will make you food-to-order, as well. This was pretty nice! Their lunch/dinner selections were quite good, and with the weather the week I was there (about 15" of snow), this was FABULOUS! So it took me a while to find the restaurant, it's in a hotel on Toledo's campus. The menu didn't quite match the one on open table but the server Mike informed me that they do have the 16oz ribeye. My wife got the filet which was on special for 18... it came with a great medley and great mashed potatoes as well as a salad, all this for 18... the filet tasted better than a 55 dollar filet that was a le carte at a farm to table fancy restaurant we recently went to. We had a 50 meal that just beat 160 meal...it's an amazing value, the only thing I would recommend is get the sauce on the side if you get the ribeye if I hadn't the sauce would have masked the great taste of the steak. read more

I feel really weird that this restaurant even exists... How do they attract enough customers to stay in the black??? I stayed at the Radisson for a business trip this past week and ended up eating breakfast at this restaurant. First of all, they charge $11 for the exact same breakfast buffet you would get for free at a Hampton Inn or a Fairfield Inn. Did I say the exact same? What I actually meant was that they charge you $11 for the exact same buffet except that they don't give you access to juices and coffee. That is extra (and no free refills on the juice, as the waitress kept reminding me) and you are at the mercy of the one waitress they have serving the entire dining room. The food... is exactly what I would expect from a breakfast buffet that's offered free to hotel guests. Not sure how they get away with charging a penny for it. read more

After an 8.5 hour drive from the East Coast, I was too lazy to go out to search for food after I checked into the Hilton Hotel, so I settled on eating dinner at 31 Hundred. Since it's a Saturday night, I figured that there would be a fair amount of diners...I was wrong. There was only one other table that was occupied...by a couple that seemed to be on a date. Haha, they had the entire restaurant to themselves and then I came along to ruin the vibe. I'm guessing the emptiness can be attributed to the fact that it's Halloween night. I ordered the Caesar Salad for starters and it was only average. The amount of dressing was rather skimpy and I didn't like how the outer edge of the plate was dressed up with drizzles of balsamic vinegar. For the main course, I ordered the Black Pearl Pork Chops. All in all, it was pretty good. However, the maple syrup sauce that it sat in masked some of the natural pork flavor. The caramelized onions that rested on top of the pork chop would've been enough. For the choice of a side dish, I ordered the Chef's Vegetable, and the vegetable of the day was broccolini. This by far was the best dish of the night, and it's a freakin' side dish! Dressed with just the right amount of olive oil and butter, it was fresh, flavorful, and crispy. The complimentary bread deserves a shout out as well...or maybe that I was just real hungry after my long drive and I did baptize the bread with loads of whipped butter. The location for this type of restaurant (semi-classy, upscale-wanna-be) does seem out of place. I figure business would be better if it was somewhere else. Location, location, location! I give this place a 3.5, but since I can't rate it at that score, I'll give it a 4. Had the breakfast buffet here on 6/27, service was incredibly slow and breakfast sandwiches had mold on them.

I ate here almost every night (room service and in the restaurant) during my week staying at the Radisson Hotel for a work trip. Breakfast was pretty good for a standard continental breakfast. Dinner was okay but seemed a little limited - mostly sandwiches and burgers with only 6 actual entree options (most of which appear appear to be gf so that's a plus). They had a few dessert options but I was only able to try the cheese cake, sans crust, and it was really bad. Service was really slow considering there were 6 other people in the restaurant. read more

Very disappointing Easter Buffet! I have never written a review of a restaurant. However, I am inspired to do so by this restaurant's grossly overpriced and poorly prepared buffet. Brunch buffet should be breakfast and lunch foods presented mid-day, right? This brunch had for breakfast made-to-order omelets and waffles. No toast, no breakfast meat of any kind. No cereal, No fruit of any kind, no orange juice or any other kind of juice. Butter and sirup for waffles, no other kind of toppings. Lunch food was ok, much like you would get at any awards banquet or sports banquet. Edible, but nothing special nor particularly tasty. Dessert ok. Our waitress had only been working for a week. Nothing wrong with her except she had very little idea of how to waitress. She was uninformed, sporadic on her provision of coffee and water and we had to ask for our check long after it was obvious we were done eating. She took our discover card only to have the manger approach us and tell us they couldn't take Discover. $110 for four brunches. Outragious! Not the price, but the total lack of value for the buck. Shame on them! If they want to charge top dollar, they should provide top product and service. They delivered neither. The good news; beautiful day with my wife, daughter and her fiancee following an awesome Easter service at Cedar Creek in South Toledo. read more

Outstanding service and food was excellent. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and almost didn't stay because there were no other patrons. We were hungry so we stayed. All four meals were excellent and the server was outstanding. Burgers were cooked well and the portions were large. read more

Food was okay. Service was average. However, my daughter tried to order off of the children's menu (she's 12) and was denied. We were told that if she wanted to order off the children's menu, I would be charged full price. The restaurant clearly isn't popular as the only people that were there was my group. read more

Hard to find from the address: go into the University drive at that address and follow the signs to "The Hotel at UTMC". The restaurant is in the hotel building. The restaurant was empty when we went in for dinner, and we were pretty nervous that we had made a bad choice. NO WAY! The chef did an absolutely outstanding job on our meals, and we had one of the most delightful meals in two weeks of travelling. Absolutely superb Filet for me, and my wife's Sea Bass was to die for. Cudos to the chef. He (she?) deserves WAY more customers than we saw while we were there. Check this place out, you'll be glad you did. read more
