It's Restaurant Week in Northwest Ohio! The absolute best week of the year for foodoholics like myself! We kicked off the with an amazing tapas dinner at Poco Piatti. We're not going to count the number of times I've dined at their restaurants. We'll just say this location is the third one I have experienced and truly appreciated their service. Although our dining experience was slightly interrupted by a waitress searching our dining area for a lost phone (but, found it.) The atmosphere of the restaurant was romantic; yet, casual. If you find yourself dining there, don't forget to inquire about their Koala Berry Frozen Pie. I did?! :( However, we found ourselves at Koala Berry Frozen Treats afterwards, lol.

Shrimp appetizer along with sauteed mushrooms with a peek of the fresh pita bread. Delicious!

We held our book club discussion here over a late lunch on a Saturday. It was a lovely ambiance since there weren't a lot of people and we could enjoy the Mediterranean decor and delicious food. Everyone raved about their food selections. I had a shrimp appetizer along with seared mushrooms, with fresh pita bread...Absolutely delicious! Our server was attentive without being overbearing. Our experience was perfect! Highly recommend!

Ambiance is fine. Waitress was nice . Meal(lunch) was not worth the $50 this time. Mushrooms were great. Steak kabobs good. Chicken kabobs dry with a couple thin vegetables on them. Ask waitress about the Mujadara was given a couple conflicting pieces of info. I ordered it and it was just mushy with very cold(refrigerated cold) fried onions on top. Not much taste other than the pickles. I was really disappointed it reminded me of cafeteria slop or wet refried beans. I asked the waitress if this is how it normally was and she said yes. I'm used to getting it at Tiger bakery where the rice and lentils have definition. I'm not even sure if there was rice in the Poco Mujadara-so mushy I couldn't tell. The rice with the kabobs was also a thick pasty texture. Normally it is not. The bread was great although we had raw dough(my husband loved the raw dough though) . He also likes their coke mix (not all restaurants mix the syrup and carbonation the same) . Prob not going back here anytime soon unless my hubby really wants too!

Nice service but the calamari wasn't very impressive. It wasn't crispy at all, so felt like it could have used more time cooking The pizza was also a bit small for an entree although it was pretty good.

I think I'm gonna let the man pick the next few restaurants. I almost hated it and yet again a spot I picked out. We come in about hour before closing. Everyone is friendly. Didn't feel any pressure to rush. So I came here to try the lamb. I don't eat it often but I like well cooked lamb and so does my sweetie. Should be perfect dinner. Well I got to looking at the chicken parm sliders and asked the server his choice of 2. He said the chicken.Tried to get them to do one of each which was a no. If I'm willing to pay for it why not? Anyhow, got talked into the chick parm sliders because above all meat in life I want chicken or turkey. Mistake. No seasoning to be found in the sauce or the sliders. We got grape meat leaves n portobello mushrooms as appetizers. Both had a weird after taste. I'm just over anything that has leaves in the description. Just not for me. My man didn't like them either so we tore into the pita bread. Was fresh n good with butter Man got the lamb entree. As usual was not cooked to his specifications but he was starving so he ate them anyway. I was scared to ask for one cause he was killing them little things. I had a glass of wine and beer for him. No dessert. So this time I was the one left hungry and had a PB n J sandwich when I got home. Maybe I will come back for those lamb sliders. Probably not

I was looking forward to coming here to try their food. I've lived in the Middle East and love Greek food. We ordered a couple apps and two small plates. The food was great, but right when we got there we asked if they have their famous flaming cheese and our waitress said that they changed the menu. We had already ordered and we saw at least 6 flaming cheese apps. It was fairly disappointing but our food was good.

I had seafood Cioppino and my friend ordered Wild Boar Bolognese. We also shared Classic Hummust o share as appetizer. WOW, everything tasted great and delicious. I passed by the kitchen to go use the restroom and had to stop to enjoy all the dishes that were prepared and ready to serve. Even a simple Romaine Wedge looked so good with halal beef bacon sprinkled on it. Could not order any dessert since we both were full. A wonderful dining experience and deducting back for more if I am in the area in the future.

Went back to Souk last Saturday with 3 other dining partners and really had a great experience…read more We had a reservation and unfortunately, they seated us in the front room. It's nice in there, but it was just too loud for us. We asked our waitress if we could move to the back room. she checked with the hostess, and it was no problem. She graciously helped us move, thanked us and handed us off to our new waitress. She was really nice about everything. Our new waitress took our drink orders, and I decided to have a Manhattan. It was just the well whiskey (I'm guessing they used domestic whiskey, so the "e" needs to be there!) and it was really well made. They even used a giant ice cube that kept the drink well chilled without the dilution issues typical ice can bring. On to appetizers... We had the calamari and an order of hummus with onions and browned butter. The calamari was really nice, but kind of stingy. It was very well cooked, nicely breaded, etc. My one quibble is there just wasn't enough, especially for the price. The hummus... So, the hummus was a rather generous portion that was out of this world delicious. It was served in a large bowl with browned onions, brown butter, paprika and fried or baked chickpeas. The hummus reminded me of Middle East Market. Smooth, creamy, garlicky, well-seasoned. If you go to Souk and don't get this, you're making a huge mistake. After the apps, we moved on to our entrees... I had the crab cakes. They were really enjoyable, served with some nicely dressed, mixed salad greens. they were full of crab meat (but unfortunately not lump crab). The outside was crispy and the inside was very nicely cooked. Great flavor. One of the folks at the table had the butternut squash ravioli. It was probably my favorite dish of all that night. Amazing flavor and perfect texture. the thing that makes their ravioli the "leader of the ravioli wars" is they served them with a sherry, cream sauce that was just amazing. Kind of a sweet and savory, salty thing. Delicious. Our other guest had the Kafta Ravioli and said it was really good. I didn't try it, so I really can't comment, but it did look pretty great. After our entrees, we moved on to coffee and split a desert. Souk's Turkish coffee was great. It's been years since I've had Turkish coffee, but it was really strong and piping hot. Just perfect. We also split an order of their bread pudding. WOW! I've not had bread pudding that good since I was in New Orleans. So, my first trip to Souk really sucked (see my review). My guess is they were having a bad night, and we got stuck with a really sh*tty waiter. The place is expensive, but the food and drink substantiate the prices. Our waitress was very professional, she knew the menu and offered informed suggestions when asked. She seemed to know when we needed her. We were not rushed and really felt like they appreciated out business. Can't wait to go back.

I could've had my whole meal be just the appetizers and I would've been happy. The dinner came out and the rice was seasoned and tasted awesome! The chicken and lamb chops were *chef's kiss*. My favorite (aside from the falafel) was the Kafta. It's the first time I had it and my taste buds were blown away. Of course we had to end the meal with dessert (not much room left but we made it work) and the tuxedo mousse cake was made with so much love you could taste it in every bite. Not only was the food AMAZING, the staff were extremely friendly, they took the time to learn our names, very attentive, and made the whole experience that much better. The location is great and the entire vibe of the restaurant was relaxing. I will definitely be coming back very soon!

Lol Food: Hummus - delicious taste, a bit thinner than other hummus we've had. But, when that homemade hot sauce is added I forgot my own name it was THAT good. Kibbie: well seasoned meat, the breading(?) was superb. It was not super crunchy. The breading element also individual bite was stellar! You guessed it, we dipped that baby in the hot sauce and the yogurt sauce. The appetizers were so good, we let Nick pick the entrees. I am pretty sure he gave us the chicken and beef sish kabobs. Chickens came with the garlic aoili type of dip (sauce?) on the side. You know I'm going to say it was amazing and delicious. Beef: this man cooked those tenderloin pieces better than MOST steakhouses. It was a perfect medium rare. You guessed it - it was delicious. Desserts (for take out lol) chocolate cake and grandmas rice pudding. Rice pudding: thick and creamy, not too sweet. Personally, think a few golden raisins would be fantastic in there. This doesn't seem to be in the menu. Maybe it's a special thing. Chocolate cake: this was the thing that slightly disappointed us. The taste was ok but it was dry. Now, he told us his cousin in Cleveland makes them for him. So it isn't like he can get a fresh one outta the kitchen everyday. So, I'd take one a bit on the drier side and have a milk chaser than commercial garbage. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor, stop in to see Nick. Tell him cousin Kerri from Dayton sent you. See ya next time cousin Nick!!

The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
