Good fast service Clean and quiet I just got a smoothie tho I'll be back for lunch and probably a fresh juice. Definitely more of the California vibe in here I like it

Delicious Mediterranean food ordered at the counter for quick service. The salads have just the right amount of tangy dressing & ample portions- even with side salads. I highly recommend the Greek, the Fattoush and the junk salad. The pita chips on the fattoush are delicate & crisp. I come for the healthy salads with meat add on options. That said- dessert, beer & wine are available. The brownie is my personal favorite. Food is served in compostable bowls with silverware available, which I appreciate. Ground floor, loft & outdoor seating available. Casual atmosphere, Clean floors & soft lighting. Tables seat groups of people & there are seats looking out the front window, which are solo dining friendly. It's at Cricket West, which has a nice parking lot

I like this Zingo's! It's a nice fast casual restaurant focusing on Mediterranean food. The gyro comes with pita chips. I also like their hummus as well. Prices are fair They have WiFi so that's nice and a good seating area. The drinks are self-serve so you can take care of yourself.

Wonderfully seasoned, reasonably priced, locally owned, regionally inspired, fast casual food that takes just a little bit longer than expected, but is totally worth the wait. Highly recommended for lunch if you're in West Toledo and looking for something healthy AND delicious.

    Mediterranean Junk Salad - excellent

You like Zingo's Mediterranean in Perrysburg, but you hate driving out to candy-ass "P-Burg?" Yeah, me too. Well, now you can come here instead! Not that this neighborhood is rock-hard or anything, but at least THIS incarnation of Zingo's, located on the backside of Cricket West, is in Toledo. Pretty much everything about this Zingo's is the same, or better, than the other store. The location is better. The menu/food is (essentially) the same. The service is the same. The atmosphere? Different but equivalent. The beverages in this store are superior, primarily because a small section of beer is available in this location. If you want to split hairs, there are obviously some differences between the two Zingo locations, but in general, don't plan on rejecting the null hypothesis. Best thing here? The Mediterranean Junk Salad. It's that high protein, low carb, moderate fat meal that your guns are screaming for, and that your waistline needs. The gyro is great, too. Overall, Zingo's is a great addition to the neighborhood.

First Bria took my order. I added all kinds of things to my already overloaded salad. She got the order perfect and was smiling the whole time. Her shift ended while my sister and I was eating. From there Kenzie, and Hailee took over. They brought us beers, and was extremely pleasant the whole time. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious.

I had seafood Cioppino and my friend ordered Wild Boar Bolognese. We also shared Classic Hummust o share as appetizer. WOW, everything tasted great and delicious. I passed by the kitchen to go use the restroom and had to stop to enjoy all the dishes that were prepared and ready to serve. Even a simple Romaine Wedge looked so good with halal beef bacon sprinkled on it. Could not order any dessert since we both were full. A wonderful dining experience and deducting back for more if I am in the area in the future.

It's nice in there, but it was just too loud for us. We asked our waitress if we could move to the back room. she checked with the hostess, and it was no problem. She graciously helped us move, thanked us and handed us off to our new waitress. She was really nice about everything. Our new waitress took our drink orders, and I decided to have a Manhattan. It was just the well whiskey (I'm guessing they used domestic whiskey, so the "e" needs to be there!) and it was really well made. They even used a giant ice cube that kept the drink well chilled without the dilution issues typical ice can bring. On to appetizers... We had the calamari and an order of hummus with onions and browned butter. The calamari was really nice, but kind of stingy. It was very well cooked, nicely breaded, etc. My one quibble is there just wasn't enough, especially for the price. The hummus... So, the hummus was a rather generous portion that was out of this world delicious. It was served in a large bowl with browned onions, brown butter, paprika and fried or baked chickpeas. The hummus reminded me of Middle East Market. Smooth, creamy, garlicky, well-seasoned. If you go to Souk and don't get this, you're making a huge mistake. After the apps, we moved on to our entrees... I had the crab cakes. They were really enjoyable, served with some nicely dressed, mixed salad greens. they were full of crab meat (but unfortunately not lump crab). The outside was crispy and the inside was very nicely cooked. Great flavor. One of the folks at the table had the butternut squash ravioli. It was probably my favorite dish of all that night. Amazing flavor and perfect texture. the thing that makes their ravioli the "leader of the ravioli wars" is they served them with a sherry, cream sauce that was just amazing. Kind of a sweet and savory, salty thing. Delicious. Our other guest had the Kafta Ravioli and said it was really good. I didn't try it, so I really can't comment, but it did look pretty great. After our entrees, we moved on to coffee and split a desert. Souk's Turkish coffee was great. It's been years since I've had Turkish coffee, but it was really strong and piping hot. Just perfect. We also split an order of their bread pudding. WOW! I've not had bread pudding that good since I was in New Orleans. So, my first trip to Souk really sucked (see my review). My guess is they were having a bad night, and we got stuck with a really sh*tty waiter. The place is expensive, but the food and drink substantiate the prices. Our waitress was very professional, she knew the menu and offered informed suggestions when asked. She seemed to know when we needed her. We were not rushed and really felt like they appreciated out business. Can't wait to go back.

Let me start by saying this restaurant came highly recommended by several friends. My boyfriend and…read moreI went on a Saturday night, and right away I was disappointed they closed at 8 PM. I feel that's early for a Saturday night. In any event, we went to the strip mall where it's located, near the intersection of Monroe Street and Alexis Road. On a positive note, there is definitely plenty of parking. We walked in and there was no host or hostess to greet us. We waited a few moments then a busy server ( who appeared to be the only one at the time) came and quickly sat at a booth. She dropped the menus on the table and left without saying a word. Approximately 10 minutes later, the same girl came back. She asked if she could get us a drink and if we wanted to order some appetizers. It would've been nice if she told us her name or asked if this was our first time at the establishment, but neither happened. We each ordered a glass of wine and then my boyfriend inquired about their "uncorking fee". The young woman looked bewildered and instead of asking what that meant, she chose to defensively tell us with her eyes squinted and head cocked to the side, "Nobody has ever asked me that before." We explained that at some restaurants, allow you to bring in your own bottle and charge an uncorking fee- just so she understood the question. She stood there and blankly looked back at us. After a short pause, she offered to ask the restaurant's policy. My boyfriend said yes please do; we wanted to know for future reference. (We had already ordered a glass for tonight's meal.) Before she left the table, I asked about their grape leaves; we ended up ordering those as well. While we were waiting for that, a different employee from the kitchen, came up and greeted the table behind us. She obviously knew the people and sat down and spoke with them, then took their order. It's important to mention that this cook had gloves on. While having the same gloves on, I noticed her grab not only the back of a chair at a different table, she also grabbed a railing that separates the tables from the booths, then walked behind the bar and poured glasses of wine. I was surprised that someone from the back of the house/kitchen would even wear gloves out in the dining area; let alone touch and perform tasks. To be completely clear, I was worried. I could only hope she took those dirty gloves off before she started preparing food again. We weren't off to a very good start. Wait times were longer than I expected, I say this mostly because there were only five tables taken in the entire restaurant, and we were one of them. Having said that, the table behind us, the one where the cook had her gloves on, got their food. Happy to share that this time the cook did not have gloves on when she brought the entrées out to their table. Our appetizers arrived shortly thereafter, and I was surprised to see eight super skinny grape leaves. (They were no bigger than the diameter of my pinky finger.Understand I'm used to the delicious grape leaves at Byblos and The Grape Leaf.) In all fairness, although they were skinny, they were very tasty. When our entrées arrived, the server explained the kitchen had made a mistake with our sides, but to rectify the situation they sent us an extra order of steak fries. Since it was no big deal to us, we thanked them for the gesture. The two entrées we selected were Sish Kafta and a sliced chicken breast dish that came on a bed of hummus. After reading reviews prior to our visit, my expectations for the hummus was pretty high. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Again although very tasty, it was very thin. They call it "creamy", and it is; GREAT flavor, but just very thin. Again, I'm comparing it to Byblos, Sidon, and the Grape Leaf. The side of rice that came on the shish kafta plate was cold. Both entrées were flavorful, but we're small portions. Especially the chicken entree; not a very good value for the price. When I'm paying over $20 for an entrée of chicken, I expect that I at least get half a breast. I probably had 10-12 pieces that were baby bite-size or smaller; no way was that even a half of a full breast. Our server never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or more water. She did ask if we wanted dessert, we declined. At the end of our experience, I asked her her name. I thought she would've picked up that she never told us, but again she was young and clueless. It amazes me how people in the service industry don't want to work for their tip. I can suffice it to say we will not be going back to Damascene Grill. Overall, the food was mediocre, and the service was poor. When we want Mediterranean cuisine, we will continue to support the tried and true delicious dining experience that we consistently have at Byblos.

The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
