This has become my favorite middle eastern deli/store in Toledo. The menu goes beyond the basic shawarma/hummus/falafel things to include offerings like braised lamb shanks, yogurt kibbe, a huge selection of meat and cheese pies, besides a number of "Americanized" choices. The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in. read more

A very nice place to pick up some great Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. The prepared food is exceptional. I've had lunch here several times in the past few weeks, and they are extremely slow in getting your food out. There are available seats to sit down, but the ordering is done at a "carry out" style counter. I ordered a gyro and fries one day and it took 25 minutes for me to get my order. The next time I tried the place for lunch it took almost 30 minutes to get my chicken shawarma sandwich and salad. Both times were at peak lunch times, but there were only 2 other customers in the store each visit. If you are in a hurry and they have a prepared lunch special on their counter, I would recommend it. However, if you want to order off the menu, then you'll be waiting a bit. Additionally, I have tried their grape leaves. They are decent, but they were not the freshest at the time and tasted a little bitter. Most everything else I have tried has been very good. read more

You know how they say the best food is served in a market? Here is another example. Service was great, the cashier was very polite. Atmosphere is welcoming, the place smells great. You can scan the market section while you wait for food. There is also a deli. The hummus is rich and creamy, really good. The mix kabob combo is the perfect medley of flavors. Two rices, two sauces, three kabobs, onions and bell peppers. Wow. So much flavor you'll stop and write a review about it. Will be returning. Support this place, you won't regret it. read more

I came to Muna after a friend had suggested it to me... The atmosphere is wonderful and full of Mediterranean smells and vibes! Literally THE BEST HOMEMADE PITA IN TOWN! It's soft and had a light cinnamon flavor to it, which really brought out the lemon in the hummus I also bought there. From the grocery-side of the store, everything was authentic and inexpensive. Household items on the back wall (almost like what you'd see in an Asian market) Towards the door/seating area, there was a wall of Honey and sweets that is absolutely amazing. In coming here, I didn't realize that is was a restaurant also! So I'll definitely be back to try their food. The man behind the counter was helpful and very sweet, he noticed it was our first visit and gave us some Date Croissants to try out - they were delicious! Thanks You! read more

You might have to do a happy dance after eating their food. It is fantastic. I tried a gyro and came back a few days later because I was craving it. But, this place is more than just gryos. They have ready to eat food for lunch or you can order food that is made fresh from their menu. Also, they have anything and everything you might need in their market and deli. Excellent authentic arabic food and bakery items such as meat, cheese, and zaatar pies! They bake them right in front of you! Always fresh , they also offer deli items and a different lunch special everday, its the perfect home cooked meal. There is a olive bar that im just obsessed with if you love olives and they even have PICKLED LEMONS! Ive never even heard of them before but they're quite delicious and now im hooked. Muna has been such a great addition to the Franklin Park area! From the zatar bread to the gyro sandwiches, everything we've tried is delicious. You can dine-in, take-out, or do some grocery shopping at Muna. They have a small butcher/deli area where you can get meats and salads. The jalapeño-cilantro hummus is a family favorite for us! We stop in or get take out from Muna around once a week and never are disappointed. read more

I can't believe this place only has 9 reviews. The BBQ Ribs were FANTASTIC. I love BBQ Ribs, these Ribs were absolutely sublime: fell off the bone, the flavors were exploding in my mouth. To finish off this monster meal, I enjoyed chocolate & raspberry(?) croissants. I didn't want to leave. I wanted to eat and eat. One girl in particular behind the counter was gorgeous to boot. Best sish kafta I've ever had in my life. Hummus is overpriced though, shwarma has heavy pickle which I wasn't too crazy about. Their puffy soft bread and rice is also amazing, but their pita bread isn't the greatest. Overall it's a must stop if you order the right thing. read more

Excellent family owned market that has a small eat-in area. Food is very, very good. They have a brick oven that they make their own breads in. Specials are different every da, for $2.50, you can get a personal meat bread that is excellent . Highly recommend. read more

The only reason this even deserves one star is for their hummus. After giving this place multiple chances ever since Ali Baba bought it, I have given up. The service is HORRIBLE. this first time going in there the woman at the deli counter was on her personal phone and when I walked to the order, she looked at me and turned her back while continuing to talk on the phone. After waiting for about four minutes someone else took my order. When I got my food I found two short black hairs on my plate, they said they would make it right so I came back a third time. Giving them another chance for the third time, I was greeted by three men pointing their fingers and laughing at me. Being hungry I stayed and order hummus with veggies. The woman working the counter asked if I meant a salad, I said no I would like tomatoes, onions and cucumbers to dip in the hummus. She then told me they didn't have that. How does a Mediterranean market not have those key ingredients, especially when fatoosh is on the menu. I will find a better bakery to go to that will treat their loyal and new customers with a better service. read more
