I've been in Ohio for work for about six months now, and I've been on the hunt for the perfect, authentic Pad Thai. I finally found it this afternoon just outside of Toledo! While the restaurant is delightfully intimate, it is wonderfully cool and serene the perfect, quiet escape for a sophisticated lunch. Even though the staff seemed quite busy when I arrived, the service was remarkably attentive. I was beyond impressed when my order arrived in under ten minutes talk about impeccable timing! I made sure to let the staff know how much I appreciated the efficiency. The Pad Thai itself was divine; it wasn't oily at all, which is a rare and welcome find. They even let me know how easy it is to take an extra order to go, which is just so practical for a busy schedule. We were referred to QQ Kitchen by a friend who happens to be a foodie. The first time we stopped in the wait to dine in was over an hour, so we chose to go elsewhere. Tonight was our lucky night as we were seated within minutes of our arrival. QQ Kitchen is very unassuming upon entry. Small sitting area that was filled with people waiting for their take-out orders. The dining area is small and decor is simple. There is one TV monitor and tonight, "Triple D" (Diners, Drive-Ins, Dives) was on. How appropriate, huh? Menu has a lot to offer making it challenging to arrive at a snap decision. Many great choices. We started off with Spring Rolls. Very refreshing taste and the peanut dipping sauce was quite tasty. Our dinner selections: Drunken Noodles; and Pad Thai w Shrimp. Both these dishes were excellent and very fairly priced for the food quality and portion size. A great deal of foot traffic for take-out orders during the entire time we were in the restaurant. This was my first time going here and I loved it!! I would never think of coming here because I have a bias against plaza restaurants but this one was amazing! When you first get there it doesn't seem like much but the food and service says otherwise. I didn't really know what to think because when you enter it seems like a fast food place and some of the walls needed some TLC but otherwise it was very clean (even smelled clean). If I could make it better I'd add some more things to the aesthetic. The Brussels bowl is PHENOMENAL. If it came in a bigger portion instead of as an appetizer I would definitely get just that again for my meal. I got the sesame chicken and it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad at all. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all got something different. 10/10 will be going again soon! read more

4.75 This restaurant is in a busy shopping strip mall off Secor Road near Chik Fil A and Home Depot. I ordered carryout for two. There is also a dine-in restaurant. I couldn't get a sense of the ambiance as the restaurant area is to the left of the carryout pickup. It seemed casual and crowded. When I called in my order, I was struck by how friendly and helpful the staff member was who answered the phone. I had questions and he didn't hesitate to place me on a brief hold to ask the cooks when he didn't know the answer himself. I ordered the Happy Family entree with shrimp, chicken and mixed vegetables; with sauce on the side. The other order was Pork Mu Shu. I picked up the order and the place was bustling as it was dinner time. I was greeted by the same friendly person who'd answered the phone earlier. My order was ready promptly within 20 minutes. My mom couldn't have been more pleased with her Mu Shu Pork. She said it was perfectly flavored and was a generous portion, with a side of flour wraps. My Happy Family was filled with excellent quality vegetables, shrimp and chicken, and the garlic sauce was very light and flavorful. It was delicious! The only thing with the Happy Family entree is that the rice was included in the same container as the meal. Therefore the portion size was not as generous- adequate for a dinner meal but not for another day of leftovers. I'll post a picture below on a plate. I absolutely recommend QQ Kitchen for delicious carryout Asian cuisine. The food is always amazing here. Authentic Asian cuisine with fresh ingredients. The inside is pretty basic and the seating arrangement is a little odd. They clearly do not have an interior designer on hand. However, the food makes up for any of the interior oddities. The workers are always professional and friendly. We got QQ kitchen for the first time tonight because we were told how incredible they were. I have to be honest, it was extremely mid. The sesame chicken was a 4.5/10. It has little to no sauce on it and it is very dry. The hot and sour soup was really water and lack favor and only had spice. Their rice however is good and has a good flavor. Orange chicken was a 6/10. Not a lot of orange flavor despite having an orange peel in, it was lacking sauce as well. The chicken was also dry. I think this has potential to be great but skimping out on the sauce is not a good move for these two dishes, especially with dry chicken. We may give them another chance in the future but will stick with Jin's. Food is way over priced also for what you get. read more

It's your standard American/Asian take out experience. They are very consistently. Good, they are quick. I wish they had a few more actual Chinese options. I love a good Szechuan and Cantonese food. You won't find a lot of authenticity here, but you will find good ABC and general Tsaos chicken. It's above average for Toledo Chinese takeout, but there isn't a lot of great competition. I really wish we had more authentic Chinese choices here in Toledo. Until we do, this is a pretty decent option. I'm hoping with the opening of a new Asian market we will begin seeing a little more authentic food in our area. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since they opened and finally had the opportunity. I was meeting a friend for lunch and when I pulled up I wondered if they had any tables. Sure enough when I walked in they have the whole space next store. There's a counter area to sit at and several tables. Not a fancy place but clean. I ordered the almond boneless chicken and paid $2 extra for lo mein noodles instead of white rice. I'm so glad I did because those noodles were killer. The ABC part of the dish was fantastic too. Made with a chicken breast which was perfectly cooked, super tender with just the right amount of breading. The gravy was not really gravy it was more of a savory brown sauce...thinner than a gravy. All atop cooked cabbage. It was so good and the portion was huge. I had to take home at least half. My friend got the summer roll with tofu which looked wonderful and really fresh. I have turned my family on to QQ ... we have been a few times and not once have we not been completely satisfied. The food comes out hot and is delicious! We took a newbie and he said the egg rolls were the best he has ever had. I had spring rolls and they were pretty tasty too. Our server was wonderful and when we can't decide, she even offered to give us a hybrid of the two. We didn't do it but the flexibility to offer it was nice! The place isn't huge or fancy but it is comfortable and you will get plenty of good food and good service. Top notch restaurant that I visit every time I visit family since I live in Illinois. If you get a chance to go to QQ kitchen, you need to take it. Their food is excellent. They make homemade dumplings, so you're not always going to get them if they've been really busy. It's in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. The place was simple and clean. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good especially the double pan friend noodle. I personally prefer the white sauce more than brown, and I loved that the ingredients were simple. I've had ones with chunks of carrots, baby corn, water chestnuts and broccoli and didn't enjoy them. The snow peas were fresh, crunchy and sweet, and squid was nicely cooked so it wasn't gummy at all. The black bean noodle was good, too. The noodle was smooth but chewy (in a good way), and the sauce had chunks of squid, shrimp, pork, zucchini and onion. They give you a generous amount of sauce which is nice-after finishing the noodle, I had some leftover so I can take it home and put it over noodle/rice! I wish I lived close by or I would try other food. Just a side note- their utensils (fork and spoon) were pretty heavy and my hand was numb...(the place is not losing or gaining a star for this, this is just FYI!) maybe that means I should put my fork down once in a while hehehe :) read more

Coming from NYC, I'm always impressed with the portion size:cost ratio. On first glance, QQ Kitchen looks like another chinese take out spot but it proved to be much more. The place was bustling with diners, but our servers were still attentive and prompt. We got pad Thai, hot braised fish, and I got spicy curry udon. The pad Thai looked and tasted amazing. We were able to customized spice level, and the waitress was sure to ask if we wanted peanuts and/or cilantro on the side. I didn't think the hot braised fish sounded too appetizing thinking it was steamed or pan fried. It was actually battered and deep fried, then covered in spicy sauce and veggies. The spicy curry udon was also really good. They used japanese curry sauce. My one concern is everything was slightly overly salty, but besides that, it was a very tasty meal! read more
