My favorite Thai restaurant! Yellow Curry with chicken is the best! each dish is crafted with care, it's not just food, it's an experience!

"Let's go someplace different tonight." "Ok, I know a place...it's a bit of a drive." So, we've eaten at ROI ET a few times, and in general, our experience has been quite positive. The atmosphere is nice enough...nothing to write home about, but it's clean. The building and the parking itself are well adorned with beautiful potted flowers and plants. Planted sunflowers too. I also think they might grow some of their own spices in a garden out back. This is a very nice touch. The service is casual. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. The waitstaff is friendly but not particularly attentive. Don't get me wrong, nobody was rude and they respond to requests, but still... The food was very good. Best Thai food ever? Nope. Best in Toledo? No, probably not. Good enough to warrant return visits? Definitely. But regarding the food, I must say this...I really don't like when ethnic restaurants (ethnicities known for spicy food, that is) "down-spices" a dish to, I don't know, "suit the typical American palate?" That's happened to me twice at Roi Et. Please, when I say I want the curry to be hot, I fucking mean HOT! Ok, I'm better now. So there we go. About 4 stars. read more

A beautiful, one of a kind family-owed business. Delicious, authentic Thai food that I've personally had the pleasure of enjoying for years from their previous venture, Bangkok Cafe. The atmosphere is beautiful. Somewhere between cozy and classy for a wonderful, calm dining experience. Dining in Roi Et feels like coming home. Service always given with a smile, and the staff is incredibly friendly. My waitress was attentive and even helpful with recommendations as I myself am a little bit of an adventurous eater. Food comes out piping hot and prompt to order. The menu is thoughtfully arranged, digestible, and gives the customer a good grasp of what they're getting. I have had the Kar Pao Beef at medium heat (brave for me. Painful, but delicious!) Fried rice, Shrimp puffs (they're my my favorite appetizer. Delicious and with an incredibly satisfying crunch tucked into a little perfect triangle package. SO GOOD!!) The rice is always perfectly cooked. A little bit sticky and fluffy at the same time. Its fantastic. I want to know their secret. This visit I had the Massaman Curry. Mostly sweet profile with the very very slightest hint of spice at the back end. Plenty of broth with chunky veggies, perfectly cooked through and still firm to tooth in a way I find very pleasant! I dug in too quickly to get a good picture. Maybe next time! I also tried the Thai iced tea for the first time. An absolute hit. Portion sizes are generous. You absolutely get what you pay for. My only complaint is that I cant eat more in one sitting. Hands down one of my favorite places to go for a taste of southeast Asia. read more

it's an unassuming old building in Oregon that I've driven by 1000 times My husband was doing some training at Bay Park and curiosity got the best of him. I'm glad I did. It looks much different in the inside than you would expect. They've obviously done some significant updating. The food spot on, the portions are enormous. And the service was fair. Very nice family business! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was a little warm inside because the air conditioning was broken but staff were very nice and helpful about it. The restaurant is spacious and clean, very comfortable. Lots of good options of food as well. We got the pad Thai and green curry- both were very flavorful and big portions! My first visit I had excellent service from a young girl, the second time a poor experience from a young man. Otherwise, this would be five out of five on both accounts. I got the green curry, which was delicious, but was not spicy at all. Interestingly, enough as a Thai place, you have to request extra spice, but the quality is through the roof. read more

After years of sitting vacant, a new Thai restaurant has finally opened in the former Pearl River. It's sparsely decorated with touches of decoration. The server was very pleasant. It was a very quiet with no music and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I settled on a green curry with tofu that was described as having eggplant which I love. When it arrived there was NO eggplant which is why I ordered the meal. The tofu was lightly breaded and was paired with carrots, green pepper, baby corn slices and heavy on the bamboo shoots. I would have preferred more fresh vegetables. I realize they've just recently opened so I will check them out again. read more

The interior is spacious and very well decorated, the service is excellent and personable, and best yet, the quality of each dish is noticeable in the flavors. Arrived around 6pm Saturday night - didn't seem overly busy but a few tables had people eating. Promptly greeted by the host/server (appeared to be only employee working in the front) given menus and seated. Then nothing... 15 minutes later another couple came in and were seated in the booth right next to ours. Another 15 minutes goes by and I say F it I'll just order online- get to the checkout and the server finally grabs his order pad walks over to our table passes us and offers waters to the couple that came in after us and took their order. My husband is working in town this week so I came up to visit. I looked online and found this Thai Restaurant and we had to try it. We both love Thai food. We started with the pork egg rolls and Tom Kha Gai soup. The egg rolls were great, you could really taste the pork filling. The soup, well all I can say is WOW!! It was delicious. It had a little kick and just great flavor. My husband ordered the Spicy Green Curry with Pork. He loved it. It had a great spice but not too spicy kick. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai medium spice. It was also really good but I really did not taste any spice. Nonetheless, I would order it again. The restaurant itself was clean and the service was really good and fast. By the time we left, the restaurant was almost full. If ever in this area again, we would stop. I should have ordered another soup to go. Yes, it was that good. It is awesome to have something new on the east side of Toledo. I believe this restaurant is somehow connected to Bangkok grocery across the street. The interior is updated and modern looking. Although they do have some mismatched floors. The decor still has the IKEA tags on some of it. The service was super friendly and pretty fast. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but it was an odd time. Be warned they do close between 3-4pm. The egg roll was large and delicious. The curry was pretty good too. My only complaint was that it didn't seem to have the eggplant that the menu said it would and that the carrots seemed frozen to me. My dining date disagreed about the carrots. They just opened so I will definitely go back and try this place again once they have settled in. I used to love going to Bangkok kitchen in Maumee, but since they no longer allow you to eat inside, I stopped going. Curry is hard to eat in the car. lol read more

Thai food is one of my favourite cuisines, this restaurant has amazing service and the food is soooo hearty and so comforting. The ambiance in this restaurant makes me feel at home. My favourite is the pad kee mild spice, add extra broccoli, AND the red curry with any protein is amazing. If you are looking for something that'll make you go into a food coma this is it! Even though the decor is a bit dated in some respects, it still has some charm to it. The food is authentic and pretty good. They have some curries, a lot of Pad choices, and some more "Americanized" dishes. This restaurant is an evolution of the former Bangkok Café and features the same ownership. So if you were a fan of Bangkok before, you'll be just fine with Roi Et! read more

I love giving a good review and I had a great experience here. The egg roll tasted fresh and I'm assuming made in house! I also got the general tso's which definitely tasted in house again. We have read about this new Thai place in town and i thought, wow, that is bold opening a place across from Bangkok Cafe. So we finally got there today and come to find it is the same family. They took the old Pearl River and dressed it up! Similar food to Bangkok but a few other dishes in addition. Bangkok is where my family learned to love Thai food as Toy made it the best. Service was pretty good but they are still learning the POS system and working out the kinks. We will be back! read more
