They have recently raised their prices a bit, but in comparison with what neighboring restaurants have done, it's nothing. The portions are generous. Service is excellent! My husband and I came in and decided to try all new food that we had never tried before.. We had a great shrimp ball appetizer! We let our waitress, choose our food. It's just something we like to do when we go to "ethnic" restaurants. It's a little dated, but clean. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant is located in a strip mall shopping area with plentiful parking. Upon entering, the ambiance is very welcoming and charming. I picked up the carryout order from the bar area and it was ready on time. The person who cashed me out was very pleasant and advised me of a surcharge for using a credit card. While I don't like this practice, it has become common. Upon bringing the food home, I saw that the food was in styrofoam containers. There was no notation of which container contained which order, but wasn't difficult to figure out. Speaking to my order (chicken and tofu), I found that there was too much sauce and was very light on the protein but heavy on noodles. My mom's order (chicken with medium spicy sauce) was too spicy for her taste and also skimpy on chicken; lots of noodles. Overall, it was a disappointing meal for both of us. I think a dining-in experience would be better because of the lovely ambiance. The price for both entrees was a bit over $30 before tip - not a great value considering the skimpy amount of protein.

Maybe I don't know what Monroe Michigan sushi is but the sushi I got at this place was not good. I ordered the spicy maki combo. Expecting a standard spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and spicy California roll. Instead I got three rolls that looked nearly identical and more or less tasted identical. I took them apart and realized the filling for all of them was at least 50% tempura crumbs. I have never had that in any rolls I have ever eaten. So basically to stretch the more expensive ingredients they use tasteless oily filler. Gross and not stated in the menu. I get that the price of goods is way up but tricking your customers into ordering something they are not going to actually get to save your business money is bad business. Whatever salmon I did taste in the spicy salmon roll was chunks of stringy salmon scraps which were of dodgy quality. TLDR: maki here is just kitchen scraps rolled in rice and nori. Not tasty. Also, My brother-in-law was scowled at for asking for soy sauce.

3.5 We hadn't…read moreordered from this restaurant in four months and decided to give them another try because it so conveniently located and we had previously enjoyed some orders. Both ordered the Lemon Chicken entrees with mixed vegetables. When I called, I asked the difference between the Lemon Chicken and Almond Chicken. A young sounding girl seemed unsure how to answer and asked her mom. She then came back with a partial answer and indicated that the Almond Chicken came with a brown sauce (while the menu indicated a white sauce), but since I prefer a lighter sauce, we both ordered the Lemon Chicken. I had refrained from asking further questions because special orders are generally not translated well nor appreciated. The order was ready promptly as promised. Upon entering, I saw the same sign that the restaurant could not provide table service due to lack of staff but that dining in was welcomed. There were two people dining in the pleasant dining area when I entered around dinner time. I picked up the order and once home found that the lemon sauce was on the side as promised with an overly generous amount of the sauce. The individual entrees were full of deeply battered chicken. Upon digging to the bottom, there were some lovely sauteed vegetables (zucchini, broccoli, carrots, a few mushrooms, maybe celery and baby corn). Unfortunately, there were few vegetables compared to the bulky fried chicken meat on top. Would have been better, in my opinion, to have the vegetables on top of the chicken or even in a separate bowl- and definitely more of them. I'm not a fan of anything fried so took the time to cut off the overly breaded fried topping. Without the fried topping, the entree needed salt, in addition to the nicely seasoned light lemon sauce provided on the side. My mom ate the entree without cutting off the fried coating. She added more salt along with the lemon sauce made it taste much better. However, she didn't feel well after eating the fried meal. I also shared with my dog and did my best to cut off the battered fried portions, but even she didn't seem to feel well afterwards. Ultimately, I recognize that many may enjoy the fried battered chicken, so left my rating at three stars. I will say that cutting off the battered portion left very little chicken- since the battered fried portions made the entree seem huge. I personally wouldn't order it again. I might try ordering something more basic in the future given the convenient location of this restaurant. I think the freshness of vegetables and overall quality of food is decent, but wouldn't order anything fried. Check it out for yourself! I have found this restaurant to be hit or miss, with more misses lately.
