Food was super bland. Rice and noddles had barely any sauce fried with them, so they were flavorless. Chicken wasn't very good either.

Both ordered the Lemon Chicken entrees with mixed vegetables. When I called, I asked the difference between the Lemon Chicken and Almond Chicken. A young sounding girl seemed unsure how to answer and asked her mom. She then came back with a partial answer and indicated that the Almond Chicken came with a brown sauce (while the menu indicated a white sauce), but since I prefer a lighter sauce, we both ordered the Lemon Chicken. I had refrained from asking further questions because special orders are generally not translated well nor appreciated. The order was ready promptly as promised. Upon entering, I saw the same sign that the restaurant could not provide table service due to lack of staff but that dining in was welcomed. There were two people dining in the pleasant dining area when I entered around dinner time. I picked up the order and once home found that the lemon sauce was on the side as promised with an overly generous amount of the sauce. The individual entrees were full of deeply battered chicken. Upon digging to the bottom, there were some lovely sauteed vegetables (zucchini, broccoli, carrots, a few mushrooms, maybe celery and baby corn). Unfortunately, there were few vegetables compared to the bulky fried chicken meat on top. Would have been better, in my opinion, to have the vegetables on top of the chicken or even in a separate bowl- and definitely more of them. I'm not a fan of anything fried so took the time to cut off the overly breaded fried topping. Without the fried topping, the entree needed salt, in addition to the nicely seasoned light lemon sauce provided on the side. My mom ate the entree without cutting off the fried coating. She added more salt along with the lemon sauce made it taste much better. However, she didn't feel well after eating the fried meal. I also shared with my dog and did my best to cut off the battered fried portions, but even she didn't seem to feel well afterwards. Ultimately, I recognize that many may enjoy the fried battered chicken, so left my rating at three stars. I will say that cutting off the battered portion left very little chicken- since the battered fried portions made the entree seem huge. I personally wouldn't order it again. I might try ordering something more basic in the future given the convenient location of this restaurant. I think the freshness of vegetables and overall quality of food is decent, but wouldn't order anything fried. Check it out for yourself! I have found this restaurant to be hit or miss, with more misses lately.

The restaurant itself was very clean but the ambience isn't important because I never see anyone dining in. Anyway, the restaurant carefully packed our order into a box. Needless to say, it was a handful. I managed to get out the door but I couldn't open my car door without setting down the box of food. I set it on the hood of my car to open the car door and... yikes, the box slid off the hood of my car onto the parking lot concrete! It was a mess! Apparently, a customer alerted the restaurant staff about the mishap and an owner or manager promptly came out to clean it up and re-made the order. I didn't tell them it was my birthday and I was picking up dinner for a family celebration. I felt horrible for the restaurant and also for the delay in returning home. The restaurant very professionally re-made the order and carried it out to my car. Everyone loved their food. I've long been a fan of the shrimp lo mein and my mom raved about the chicken egg foo young. Usually egg foo young at other restaurants comes smothered in gravy and very greasy, but this egg foo young wasn't greasy at all and the sauce was provided on the side without even asking for a side. Everyone was happy with the food and this isn't an easy group to please. This restaurant has earned five stars for their consistently delicious food and in handling this situation with professionalism. Absolutely check out China House!!

The restaurant is extremely dark inside, although the traditional decor is pretty cool and gives the place some character. Prices were fair, but the service was slow, and our server repeatedly forgot things we asked for throughout the meal. To make matters worse, their credit card machines were down during our visit. The biggest issue was the food. Most of it was extremely greasy. The green onion pancakes were basically grease sponges with almost no flavor. The fried rice wasn't really fried rice at all. It tasted like plain white rice with a few vegetables mixed in and lacked any of the flavor or texture you'd expect. The Szechuan chicken was also disappointing and wasn't something we'd order again. There were a couple of bright spots. The orange chicken was flavorful, and the scallops were cooked well and were probably the best dish we had. Overall, while the prices were reasonable and there were a few good dishes, the overly greasy food, inconsistent quality, forgetful service, and payment issues left us underwhelmed. I wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, I don't see us coming back. Two stars because there were a few positives, but they weren't enough to outweigh the negatives.

Really tasty. The egg rolls are on the pretty good side of things, but maybe a bit too much five spice??? The hot and sour soup is pretty good too. The dining room... OK, this place was probably remodeled when LBJ was president. It's really tired. When looking around, I'd say the finishes are just worn out. I'd say that, but when you park in the back parking lot and walk by the fenced in "outside janitor closet" and cart storage, I don't know what to think. I kind of expect Freddy Krueger to come popping out. The mop bucket and mop is filthy. Managment, do you really want your customers to see that stuff? For typical Cantonese stuff, the food is fine. Just park in front and get your order to go.

As a self-acclaimed special order person, I recognize that I may be annoying to a busy carryout business... but I've finally cracked the code here! The last two orders, I've kept it simple. Today for dinner, ordered for two people. By the way, they only take phone orders and no longer online. I ordered a large Won Ton Soup; a Vegetable Egg Foo Young with sauce on the side- and was told they always put it on the side (yay!). For myself, I ordered the steamed Chicken and Broccoli with a side of garlic sauce. Nothing too complicated. I was told the total cost would be $27.99 (from memory) - which is a great value these days and considering the generous portions of delicious food! (Sorry, getting ahead of myself!) The ambiance is very basic, as you would expect from a strictly carryout business. However, everything looked clean. Most importantly, their inspection score was 100/100 and that perfect score reassured me that everything in the kitchen was health compliant. The customer service is always consistently friendly. The order was ready on time and everything was nicely packaged in containers that ensured minimal leakage, if any. The orders both came with lots of rice and generous containers of sauces- more than we needed. My mom highly approved of her Vegetable Egg Foo Young and the sauce. She said it wasn't greasy, although fried. It came with 3 huge patties! The Won Ton Soup is always a winner in her book, although it went in the fridge for tomorrow. My Steamed Chicken with Broccoli was perfect. Chicken was burried underneath lots of fresh, green broccoli and the Garlic Sauce was the perfect balance of spicy and garlic; again, far more sauce than I needed. I would estimate that this meal portion will provide three or more meals. Check out the photos below. Highly recommend this spot for high quality and delicious Chinese carryout!

Both these dishes were excellent and very fairly priced for the food quality and portion size. A great deal of foot traffic for take-out orders during the entire time we were in the restaurant.
