My mom and I stopped here for a late lunch. This is QQ on Glendale Avenue; not sure if it is related to QQ Kitchen on Secor Road, but that was my assumption. Upon entering, it's clear that this is really a takeout place rather than an eat-in restaurant, but there are a few tables and chairs. Personally, I would have walked out due to lack of a pleasant ambiance but we decided to stay since we were there and I saw many positive reviews here. The person who took our order was very pleasant and patient in answering our questions about the menu options. My mom ordered the Mei Fun with chicken and shrimp in a spicy sauce. I had the Mei Fun with chicken in a light sauce. Since this is primarily a takeout place, our meals arrived in plastic containers with plastic forks. I liked the thin rice noodles, but it was difficult to twirl them with a flimsy plastic fork. The vegetables included shredded carrots, broccoli, snow peas, and green onion. I would have preferred more vegetables; it seemed that the vegetables were placed primarily on top, which made the dish look appetizing, but there were few vegetables beneath the noodles.Also, the snow peas were not the usual peapods I've had in other Chinese dishes; these were cut into small pieces and weren't very plentiful. The chicken portion also was rather skimpy. Rice noodles were definitely the dominant ingredient. Flavor was rather bland. My mom said her sauce was somewhat spicy but not too spicy. She also mentioned that there weren't many vegetables, but she had a decent portion of shrimp and chicken. We didn't stay long (because the chairs weren't comfortable and the plastic forks made it difficult to eat). As we put the lids on our meals to take home, our server was kind enough to offer a plastic bag for the containers. No issues with the service. Not long after we left, my stomach became extremely queasy. My mom didn't feel well either, though she didn't feel as ill as I did. I have ordered from here probably 5 times and its been adequate. I like the teriyaki chicken sticks. Tonight I was munching on the very last stick (I ate the rest) and didn't think the texture was right. I spit it out and sure enough it was completely raw. I have had salmonella poisoning before and let me tell you I am praying right now for myself because God knows if the other 4 sticks were cook properly. My guess would be no. The meat is dyed red so its hard to see in the picture but this chicken is staying in my fridge until I'm sure I'm in the clear. There is no excuse for this if your in a kitchen this is a huge rooky mistake that can kill someone. I'm so disgusted right now........If your thinking calm down you won't die from Salmonella. I have an autoimmune disease and take medication that suppresses my immune system. Update. I went there this morning to show them the chicken. I took my receipt to prove when I bought it. I also took the actual chicken in a bag and the pictures. The woman told me it was fine. I told her if it was fine she wouldn't mind if I took the chicken to the health dept. At that point she got someone else who didn't speak English and said he didn't understand the word dangerous and sick. After reading all the great reviews, I was a little disappointed. We ordered two of our standard lunch special orders: chicken with mushroom and chicken with broccoli. The broccoli was small and a little on the old side. The chicken was ok but not great. The mushrooms were good and the flavor was decent. The Wontons were small and kind of a tough crispy, not much substance. Still plan to go back and try other menu items but I didn't understand all the hype. (Update to four stars) This place is a great alternative to UTMC Hospital food. Carry out is ready in 5 min or less. Chicken Lo-Mein is great. Crab Ragoon is very good. Nice size dish except 4/5 is onions and peppers. I mean literally filled with onions n peppers. So a new Chinese food place dropped off a flyer, and we thought "Why not?" Dude. It was excellent. I've never tried Moo Shu before, and if this place is any indicator I'll be trying it more often. I went with the beef. The "pancakes" were pretty neat. Thin, almost like rice paper, but tasty and not at all brittle. You might be saying "You just loved it because beef moo shu is awesome." WRONG. The crab Rangoon was awesome as well. The egg roll was pretty awesome as well. We also ordered Crispy Beef for my wife, who prefered it to the place we usually order from, and my sons really liked the Chicken Lo Mein. I'm not sure if they deliver, as it wasn't an option on the website, but I thought I saw a driver come in when I was picking up my order. I'll probably call in next time to see. It was really clean inside and the lady at the register was very friendly. Great food and nice people. The good is consistently good. I have never ever had a bad meal or even an off meal. I come here in a semi regular basis because it is close to work. The place is always clean. There is nothing unusual here. Which is a hit and a miss. I like to stay off the beaten path when it comes to ethnic cuisine nothing too wild here. It's mainstream Chinese food and it is delicious!!! Hint if you wanna go all out and get some serious eating done go across the street to the buffet. Exceptional food. It's only been open three months, but the flavors are excellent. I hardly needed sauce on the moo shu dish that I had and the eggrolls aren't bad. A lot of new restaurants excel initially, but then falter, lets hope this one can keep up their exceptional quality. They do deliver and their kitchen was next to the cleanest I've ever seen. I've ordered take out from QQ quite a few times and it's always been really good, especially for the price! In my opinion it is way better then China house or Rice King. Today I ordered the General Tao chicken and an order of pan fried pork dumplings. They were both delicious! I had a coupon for the general Tao so it was only $4 so that was a great deal. They gave me a huge quantity- enough for me & my boyfriend to both have a big plate each & still have leftovers! It is very tasty- the only thing I would change is that I wish it was more spicy, but definately not a big deal at all, next time I order them, I'll ask them to make it more spicy- but of coarse that's just my preference . I paid $4.25 for the pork dumplings but the dumplings are a pretty decent size & you get 8 of them! They are also very good. If I could change 1 thing about them- I wish they were a little crispy. You have the option to get them either steamed or pan fried. I ordered them pan fried because I like them to be a little crispy & they weren't at all. I'm not sure if they made them steamed on accident or something since this was my first time ordering them. I still really enjoyed my meal tonight despite of a couple things I'd change if possible. The staff is also extremely friendly every time I've been there.
