Nothing express about 'em. No food after waiting 20 minutes with no explanation or refund.

While the restaurant is delightfully intimate, it is wonderfully cool and serene the perfect, quiet escape for a sophisticated lunch. Even though the staff seemed quite busy when I arrived, the service was remarkably attentive. I was beyond impressed when my order arrived in under ten minutes talk about impeccable timing! I made sure to let the staff know how much I appreciated the efficiency. The Pad Thai itself was divine; it wasn't oily at all, which is a rare and welcome find. They even let me know how easy it is to take an extra order to go, which is just so practical for a busy schedule. I am officially charmed and will most certainly be a regular here whenever I'm in the area!

Tonight was our lucky night as we were seated within minutes of our arrival. QQ Kitchen is very unassuming upon entry. Small sitting area that was filled with people waiting for their take-out orders. The dining area is small and decor is simple. There is one TV monitor and tonight, "Triple D" (Diners, Drive-Ins, Dives) was on. How appropriate, huh? Menu has a lot to offer making it challenging to arrive at a snap decision. Many great choices. We started off with Spring Rolls. Very refreshing taste and the peanut dipping sauce was quite tasty. Our dinner selections: Drunken Noodles; and Pad Thai w Shrimp. Both these dishes were excellent and very fairly priced for the food quality and portion size. A great deal of foot traffic for take-out orders during the entire time we were in the restaurant. Good sign. We had a fantastic meal and we will definitely be back yo visit QQ Kitchen. Well done!

They are also very consistent from visit to visit. Some of my favorites are the crispy beef (you have to ask for it) and I also love the beef with vegetables combination plate. My mom still loves their Won Ton Soup and claims it is the best in this area. She also loves the fried sweet extras they provide as a side. I try to avoid fried anything, but take my mom's word that it's good. This most recent visit, I ordered two Phoenix and Dragon entrees for carryout. This dish is supposed to include chicken and shrimp as protein in addition to vegetables. Speaking regarding my entree', there were maybe four shrimp and the rest was chicken and vegetables. I will say that it was fresh and overall good quality, but the portion of shrimp was very skimpy and the chicken was very thinly sliced- like the restaurant was trying to maximize every penny. After my mom finished her leftovers, her comment was that she didn't want to order from this restaurant for a while. It seems to be very hit or miss these days.. I miss the consistency of great dinners from years ago. I realize that everything is more expensive these days and don't mind paying extra, but I do mind if the extra paid is not met with commensurate quantity and quality. I can't say that I'll hurry back here, which I'm sorry to say. The ambiance remains nice, but doesn't really matter with a takeout order.

As a self-acclaimed special order person, I recognize that I may be annoying to a busy carryout business... but I've finally cracked the code here! The last two orders, I've kept it simple. Today for dinner, ordered for two people. By the way, they only take phone orders and no longer online. I ordered a large Won Ton Soup; a Vegetable Egg Foo Young with sauce on the side- and was told they always put it on the side (yay!). For myself, I ordered the steamed Chicken and Broccoli with a side of garlic sauce. Nothing too complicated. I was told the total cost would be $27.99 (from memory) - which is a great value these days and considering the generous portions of delicious food! (Sorry, getting ahead of myself!) The ambiance is very basic, as you would expect from a strictly carryout business. However, everything looked clean. Most importantly, their inspection score was 100/100 and that perfect score reassured me that everything in the kitchen was health compliant. The customer service is always consistently friendly. The order was ready on time and everything was nicely packaged in containers that ensured minimal leakage, if any. The orders both came with lots of rice and generous containers of sauces- more than we needed. My mom highly approved of her Vegetable Egg Foo Young and the sauce. She said it wasn't greasy, although fried. It came with 3 huge patties! The Won Ton Soup is always a winner in her book, although it went in the fridge for tomorrow. My Steamed Chicken with Broccoli was perfect. Chicken was burried underneath lots of fresh, green broccoli and the Garlic Sauce was the perfect balance of spicy and garlic; again, far more sauce than I needed. I would estimate that this meal portion will provide three or more meals. Check out the photos below. Highly recommend this spot for high quality and delicious Chinese carryout!

It's great and it's open on Sundays." Of course, I couldn't find it anywhere online. Was she talking about QQ? Or the place that opened up where Darla's Thai Pan used to be? Well, both of these places are closed on Sunday, so we kept driving, and wow, yes, there really is a restaurant, just called "Asian Cuisine" in this strip mall. It's actually quite large; apparently it used to be the location of China Crown Buffet at some point. Anyhow, the ambiance is kind of flat. Lots of green vinyl booths. You can tell it used to be a buffet restaurant. But that is pretty much the only negative. When we came, there were several families and large parties, most of whom were Chinese. A good sign for a Chinese restaurant. The menu is pretty big, with lots of Thai and Chinese favorites. We ordered a steamed tofu dish, a seafood entrée, and a whole roast duck. Where can you get a whole roast duck these days without ordering a day ahead? Here apparently! And it is delicious, as was all of our food. Prices were quite reasonable (something like $22-24 for the duck, $9 for the steamed tofu with your choice of sauce, and about the same for the seafood stir fry dish). The hot-and-sour soup was immensely flavorful, smoky in a way, and only $1.99 for a small. Service was the friendliest I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. Friendly waitress, prompt drink refills. If this were SF or NYC, I'd say 4-stars, but for Toledo, this place is an absolute gem. This will be my go-to source for Chinese from now on. I can't wait to try the Thai, as if it is as good as the Chinese, it will save me the drive to Maumee (for Bangkok Kitchen).

Their menu is extensive, they even have Thai dishes. If you like traditionally prepared Chinese dishes ask for the "secret" menu that has all those on it. Not sure why they don't provide it outright. Dim Sum is to die for, the best we have had in Toledo! On weekends they have the traditional cart service, otherwise you can order individually off the dim sum menu. I'm very surprised that this restaurant is not packed ever night, but I can only assume that word of mouth has not gotten out yet. So don't be alarmed if there are only a few tables of guests eating.
