Was hopeful when trying this new place. I've never seen something that resembles a fear factor meal more in my life. Photo speaks for itself. The order was chicken chow mein. Also have a mystery meat chunk in my wonton soup. Only positive thing I have to say is that it was cheap and the fried rice was edible. read more

I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars. The manager (owner) was very rude. He couldn't work with me after I constantly told him I'm at work and I wanted to place an order but because I didn't know the door number after giving him my full address he still didn't work with me. Always better than quality service, a place with smiles all around for good eating. Today I ended up getting the shrimp with garlic sauce lunch special and it looks delicious! The taste is very subtle, with a slight kick. This dish was 5 for the lunch special and I must say it's well worth it. So give it a try! read more

Food was excellent. Only issue was two packets of soy for a large meal. I had the Happy Family and have to say is was delicious.

The man who takes the orders for this restaurant has been so rude to me and my husband on a few occasions when we call in for an order.. I will never order from them again. These people are wonderful. They are a small establishment who are tucked in the middle of a big plaza, but they satisfy the stomach in great ways. They have a little place to eat in the front part of the building and a counter where you can order. I've never really sat there to eat, but to be honest, it's not that kind of place. It is more of a place to pick up and take home. If you call them up to make an order, they put you in their computer system. The next time you order, if you don't remember what you ordered or how you ordered it - no worries - they have that covered too. The food is served hot, made by the order (instead of coming out of big bins in the back), and they can make it to your spice liking. Also, another big bonus is that they will give you the lunch specials at dinner time. As a medical student I feel like I'm always eating on the go, so I can usually turn one of their meals into a one and a half to two meals depending on how hungry I am. While the food is what you can expect from any chinese take out place, what escalates it to 4 stars is the very fast and friendly service, and cheap prices. I can order enough food to last me 2 meals for about 10$ (meat, rice, chicken wings, and soup). Plus, their lunch prices are also ridiculously cheap. So as my friends repeatedly as we ate here, I am a food snob. And while I've eaten everywhere, it's been years since I've eaten here. It's nice to be back. For the record, this is my parent's preferred place to go to Toledo for chinese food ... they like American style, and it's convienently close to where I live. Happy family is what they like to get. What I got this time was the salt and pepper shrimp and scallops. Well, they didn't have pepper on the menu but it was essentially what I got. And one can't really go wrong with asian salt-and-pepper dishes, and this was no exception. It came with a generous serving of rice. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals. Who am I to judge? If you want fast takeout chinese food, China Palace fits the bill. But you'll have to go elsewhere for something more authentic. read more

How do I judge Chinese fast food restaurants? Based on the fortune cookies that come with your orders. You can almost always count on crappy food if it is accompanied by Golden Bowl brand fortune cookies. All other brands *should* guarantee a somewhat decent meal. Lo and behold, that held true for China Palace. I breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the W&F wrapper and banked on a-okay. Truthfully, the chicken & mixed veggies (yay conservative eating!) was exactly that: not mind-blowingly delicious, but not bland and tasteless either. Portion sizes were decent, as in yours truly can finish a small size order. Guys, on the other hand, may want to opt for the large size dishes. So what sets CP apart from the other fast food options in T-town? Convenience! And that in itself deserves an extra star, IMO. And just like there's a right way and a wrong way to use chopsticks, there's also a correct and incorrect way to eat fortune cookies. This obviously family run Chinese food take out establishment is a decent enough place for a quick Chinese food fix, but not much else. They are very serviceable, their food is standard and has a bit of flavor, but nothing to write home about. They have several levels of freebies for those who order take out, which is nice. If my General Tso's Chicken is any clue, they dont really spice any of their dishes. Normally, even without asking, the 'normal' Tso's has a little bit of a bite to it. This had none whatsoever. The best chinese in South End Toledo! General Tso's, sweet and sour chicken, veggie fried rice, chicken fried rice, white rice, veggie egg rolls, shrimp egg rolls are all yummy. We also enjoy the donuts with the sweet and sour sauce. They always give you a bonus item crab rangoon, or pop or general tsos depending on the amount of the order. The service is very fast. Ordering here for almost 2 years and everyone still gets excited when this is delivered. As for the chicken fingers, order the sweet and sour chicken. Over all good food, the sizes are a little small, however the food itself is outstanding. The staff is all business at the establishment, and provide "free bees" to repeat customers.
