And while this particular Savvy Sliders is welcomed based on its convenient location, really friendly service, and super clean interior, the food is pretty mid. The "spicy" chicken, while tasty, had little to no heat. The fries were undercooked and limp, and the "Texas toast" was just a grilled 1/2 of a dried hoagie bun. That said, I've never had a cheese curd I didn't love, so those get a pass! Long story short, Savvy Sliders is an excellent choice if you can't easily get to one of the multitudes of other (better) fried chicken options in the area.

Looking for Japanese fried chicken (Karaage) in Downtown Toledo at 11:30 pm? THIS is where you'll find it. And it's good. Japanese fried chicken is a lot like American fried chicken, but the batter is a little different. The dipping sauces are similar to American sauces, but, they are a little different. Different is good. You can get said chicken in the form of wings, chunks, 1/2 a bird, or, in a donburi bowl. The menu also has some American (fries, coleslaw) and Asian (kimchi, edamame) sides. Mochi for dessert? You bet. Drinks? Pop, beer, etc, and sake! Service? The service was very friendly, fast, and accurate. Tommy and Sam run the place when the Main Man is elsewhere. They do a great job overseeing the service and the cooking. The atmosphere is similar to Kengo's other places on the same street. Intimate with bare brick walls. Seating is designed more for quick service and higher throughput. There are a few tables, but most people sit at one of two bars. Great music (Beastie boys and Tupac playing overhead, but not too loud). 4 stars for the food, and one more for being open late! 5 stars!

You have to really emphasize you want them well done if you want them even remotely crispy though and they don't put a lot of sauce on them at all so you may want to pay for extra for additional. Our last trip we bought a gyro combo, Philly combo, additional Philly and 10 wings. It came to about $40. Not bad. Has a good playplace…read more Honestly, if it weren't for their good playplace-- I believe the only one on a McDonald's in Toledo - - I would never come here again. The last three times, I had to ask for my order several times after people ordering after me already got served. Also, when you order from the machine, it says to take a table tent, but that's a lie. Half the time, you have to get your food from the counter yourself. Today, I ordered food for me, my wife, and two kids. After seeing two families who ordered after me get their food, I asked about mine. The person was confused, looked something up on a computer and walked away with telling me what was happening. More than five minutes later, he passes over a tray, but I notice my food is missing. I tell him so and again, he says nothing and walks away. Then 3-4 minutes later, he delivers my food. I notice there are only two cups on the tray. I explain the kids need their waters. Without saying a word, he taps the two cups. I said those are for the adults, but the kids need cups. Again, wordlessly, he provides the two cups. And this was not unusual for this location. McDonald's, either build another playplace or fix the staff at this place.

The ice machine handle came off of our off of the ice machine and we were not able to get ice after that. We had to take all 12 cups up to the counter and get ice for them to fill it. I originally stopped in thinking this might be more of a coffee shop so I could grab a snack and coffee while pumping gas--kill two birds with one stone. From the outside--and even inside--it's aesthetically appealing and looks like a great spot. But the experience didn't quite match that first impression. The food itself didn't hit the mark in the taste factor--nothing terrible, just not memorable or worth the price in my opinion. That said, I'm open to trying other menu items because maybe I just didn't order the right thing. Customer service was pretty average--nothing to complain about, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it didn't hit the mark this time, but I'd consider giving it another shot.
