Even some of the toppings, such as the Italian sausage (?!) and the meatballs are made in house. Considering this is a small, family East Toledo joint, this fact is impressive, and the taste is even more impressive. The pizza sauce and cheese are usually perfect, in both volume and flavor. Topping are copious, and all thicknesses of crust are finished to perfection in the stone lined oven. If you're avoiding carbs, try the Italian salad. While not as awesome as Jo Jo's on Monroe, or even Inky's, Guy puts together a very nice antipasto salad; it's probably the third best in town. It could use a little more meat, IMO. The sausage was good, but it tasted like a fairly typical sausage and was on the smaller side. I had the Mango Kengo roll, which was very well done. The salmon was incredibly fresh. It was a little spicier than I prefer because of the Togarashi seasoning, which also seems to accompany many of the yakitori dishes. We also ordered the Ika Maruyaki (grilled squid). We both love squid, especially when it's prepared this way, but this dish just wasn't as good as we had hoped. We were both a little underwhelmed. The sushi and sashimi were beautifully sliced, incredibly fresh, and definitely high quality. I tried the Madai for the first time and really enjoyed it.
