I understand paying before we are served, but we as customers deserve to tip as WE see fit, not as they see fit. I still tipped $5 just in case of the off chance that it was a mistake, or that it went to someone other than my server. There were no other options that we saw and my mom did her best to settle into a booth that I found comfortable but the table was clearly too high for my mom. She was a great sport however and made do with the high tabled booth. My mom ordered a lamb gyro with fries and I ordered my usual Georgia Reuben with fries. My mom was very pleased with her gyro. It had lots of vegetables and meat, and she said the tszazicki (sp?) sauce was delicious. She also enjoyed the fries. I loved my Georgia Reuben because the cole slaw has a kick of black pepper and other ingredients that make it taste amazing. The homemade Thousand Island dressing was soooo delicious! I was a little disappointed in the fries because they were fried more than I prefer but were still good. Best of all, we both took home leftovers! Seriously, the plates couldn't adequately support the generous portions of food with heaping amounts of fries- and I say that as a good thing! The ambiance is that of an upscale sports bar, but was pretty quiet when we were there, even though screens were turned on. Our server was very responsive and efficient. Even witnessed a middle aged woman who could hardly walk out on her own. Prior to her bumper-pool walking style on the way out, as she was seated, she hoisted up her leg and placed her heel on the man's shoulder she was with. Mercy! Alcohol can cause strange events to happen. We both ordered the Blackened Salmon Quinoa Salad with the Walnut Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing. Salad cost $18. Although they were timely (probably thanks to their cooks), it seems the wait staff weren't happy to serve until they were serving the check. I visited 2/3 times in my week stay, and from person to person, nothing changed. Maybe I missed the weekend rush, when it's more bustling and full of life, but this Rooster's never had a wait. The wings are a little greasier than I remember. But my west coast friends enjoyed the massive wings, incredible prices, and quality food just as well as I did. My mom is thrilled to have delicious leftovers. My chicken shawarma entree' was overall good, though a bit salty for my taste. I realize that I'm more sensitive to salt than most, so I would say this was overall good and much better with the pita bread. Check out pictures below... I thought, no big deal, someone will be back with my food. So he started eating and I took a couple of his fries while I waited. On to the slaw, it was not something that I wanted to finish, but that was just my taste buds. The ribs were lukewarm, which I expected them to be hot since they were "just pulling them out". They were pretty small and tasted ok. I was so disappointed all the way around. Took 2 bites of each of the sides and ate 1 rib, which was mostly bone. Didn't take it home, since I knew I wouldn't eat it. Would not make the drive there to eat again. The bill was almost $60, for food that half of it was inedible. The ribs and turkey were the stand out meats while the brisket was average. The sides were average at best which is typical for most bbq places. Also added the corny cake and it was the best thing of the night. Always great to see local places giving it a go.
