Two of us at 7:30 on Valentine's Day. Was told there would be a 40 minute wait, it was only about 25 minutes. Really slow bar to get a draft beer. We both tried their taco flights. The taste was OK, but the food wasn't warm at all. Ordered a second draft beer, and I ate one and a half tacos in the time it took to get to the table. Not a terrible place to have dinner, but there's a lot of other Mexican restaurants in the area so we probably won't return. read more

Didn't stop in for any food, but the house margarita and new fashion (bourbon) were delicious. The atmosphere is modern with interesting spray painted art. The bathrooms are Game of Thrones themed which was pretty interesting. There are a lot of chandeliers everywhere so there's this strange level of brightness to the space. We ordered here a few weeks ago for my brother's birthday and honestly it was not that great. I don't know if it's because we had a bigger to-go order or what but some of the orders weren't correct and my tacos didn't taste fresh or seasoned. Portions are pretty small and considering how pricey each taco is to begin with I guess I just had higher expectations. Ok I've been here 4 times now and haven't been disappointed once. It's a little pricey but the value is there. I just learned today, the frozen house margaritas is where it's at! We stopped by Agave & Rye for date night and had such a great experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with the 3 Dips & Chips appetizer, plus an order of elote--and everything was packed with flavor. The salsa was chunky and well-seasoned, the queso was creamy, and the guac was fresh and delicious. For our main course, we each ordered the 3 taco flights. Our favorites were the filthy fajita taco and the cat's meow! Every taco we tried was bursting with flavor. The food was very tasty, I got the 2 patty smash burger. They did not ask how I wanted the burger cooked; the burger was rare. The sauce that came in the burger was creamy and spicy. The waiter was very nice just a little ADHD and forgot my sauce. The bathroom was hella groovy. There was a disco ball and a painting of a woman staring at me. Great service and great food. We asked to be seated outside since it was a beautiful sunny day. We were quickly seated and ordered our drinks, they arrived quickly also. My wife had a strawberry margarita which was delicious! I had a Modelo Negra which is my go to at a Mexican restaurant. We ordered the Mac and cheese donuts as our appetizer and chips and salsa. The donuts are deep fried Mac and cheese patties with bacon on top. The salsa was great, the toasted tomato's made it perfect. They are so good and could be a meal by themselves! Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night around six and it wasn't very busy. We sat up at the bar and I appreciated the bartender telling me that all of their wine was in a can. I'm a wine drinker so I always order wine and that was a nice touch because I definitely chose not to order wine from here. Ha. I had the flank steak tacos. I can't remember what it was called, but everything was so good. From the rice and chimichurri to how well the steak was prepared. I will definitely be back when I'm in town again. read more

I am a big fan and the agave and rye restaurants in Lexington, Ky and this was my first visit to one in Ohio. Food was just as good as it always is at the ones in Kentucky, and the server was very personable, attentive, and patient with us. When she found out we were visiting for a bachelorette party, she offered a free dessert to the bride to be. When they brought it out later, it came with a beautiful, detailed hand drawn card! The bride LOVED the dessert taco. Everybody got a variety of epic tacos and we loved them all. I don't remember which were favorites. We've only been here twice, but have enjoyed both times more than I can believe! Tonight, we went for my sister-in-law's birthday. We were served by Holly, and also had the general manager, Benji, to our table, delivering food, and asking us how things were several times! In between a 3 and 4, but I'll lean towards a 4 bc I would go back again. The drinks were great- love the creamsicle version of the margarita - not too sweet. The starters were my more favorite things- elote was so good, the verde salsa and queso were great too. The tacos were a bit hit/miss. I liked the hard/soft combo, others didn't. Not sure why this place only has 3 stars. We had a great dinner here! We really enjoyed the fun, fusion, double-decker tacos. There's something for everyone, including vegetarians! We loved all 4 savory tacos we tried (Crown Jewel, Ya Mon, Bang Bang, and Green Goddess). Plus there are dessert tacos! They were also open later than other restaurants on a Sunday night, and even though we came in shortly before closing, we were never rushed and service was great. Highly recommend! read more

This is an update to the review. Heard back from the Regional Director of District Leadership of Brand Standards. Promises made about this incident and never heard from him again. The auto response to me on yelp asking for a screen shot of my review and my personal address is not professional or efficient. Why do you need a screenshot of my review when you obviously read it and posted a response. if you were honest in the way you run your business you would've reached out to me in a message on the Yelp site. these machines were programmed by an employee of the company or the restaurant itself. Perhaps an owner if they have one. They do not come preprogrammed as I have programmed several of these machines before. Somebody made a conscientious decision to deceive their customers. I have done my part and made contact as suggested but unfortunately, I believe they do this just to make it look like they care. I can't wait to go back to this incredible restaurant! A group of five of us visited from out of state, and we are so thrilled we chose Agave & Rye--bonus, it was Taco Tuesday! We missed Happy Hour, but it didn't matter at all. The food and drink selection was fantastic, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We sat outside on a beautiful evening, lingering for hours, savoring every bite and sip while talking business and pleasure. The atmosphere was perfect! The food presentation was stunning, and the Epic Tacos were truly EPIC! Each one was packed with a substantial amount of protein and bursting with flavor--it felt like a full meal in itself. The food was so good that I wanted to come back the very next night! If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Agave & Rye should be at the top of your list. Highly recommend! P.S. Great resturant with crazy decor with an eclectic flair. Service was awesome. And tacos were amazing.

This is a good place that I will definitely go to again! The ambiance and food reminds me of velvet taco because of the abnormal taco flavors. The happy hour and other specials are great and I will differently come again. The service is ok at the bar since they can be quite busy. The bomb taco was delicious, but it was pretty sweet and had only a couple pieces of carne asada. The chips are large and just corn tortillas cut in half. From the slightly offensive t-shirts, and the signs promoting heavy drinking, to the anything goes graffiti'd atmosphere, it's clear A&G patrons are encouraged to let loose. While the vibe is fun, the staff seem happy, and the drinks come fast, like the atmosphere, the menu and food is a bit of a mess. And I get it... with an anything goes menu, with tacos containing everything from hotdogs to Al Pastor, this place is clearly aiming to be a crowd pleaser. But when you get passed the idea of the quirky flavor combos in the "epic" tacos, you will find they really don't taste great. If you order several different varieties of the tacos, say a "Detroit Pizza Pie" taco with pepperoni and cheese, along side say "The Love Shack" with bbq beans and pork, you'll be surprised to find everything tastes really similar. With savory proteins balanced with creamy sauces, shredded cheeses, and varying degrees of greasy taco shells, it's all a similar level of bland. The sweet corn fritters were a surprising hit, though the serrano aioli had zero flavor, but our second corn focused side, the elote, was a snoozer. As festive as the menu and atmosphere is, the food is not made for sharing. So while you might want to order several of the zany tacos if you and your dining partner are feeling adventurous, things are stacked in such a way with toppings, they are impossible to eat without making a serious mess both on your table and your pants. The interior here was really neat - very one-of-a-kind atmosphere! Very impressive. We got there in the mid afternoon on a Friday and left around 4 pm when the place suddenly started crowding up. Not sure how busy it gets usually but afternoon seemed like an ideal time to go if you want to avoid the crowd. Man... we got the birria loaded fries and the birria tacos. It was top tier. Very filling too! Well worth the price. I will say on that note - it was happy hour and I asked the waitress about the happy hour deals. Then selected to have a corona beer which was part of the happy hour. When the bill came at the end, she did not note this price change on the bill and charged the regular cost. I asked her to adjust it and she was very apologetic. However it took forever to get the bill in the first place, and when asked to adjust it took even longer. Maybe they were just super busy or she was new - I am not sure. It just took awhile to get out of there. Definitely coming back - just thoroughly checking the bill. read more

If you're craving crazy tacos this is the place. Lots of choices if you like meat or options if you're vegetarian. I got an Al pastor and a shrimp but next time I would want to try the street tacos and drinks. My shrimp taco was covered with flaming hot Cheetos and it was spicy. I enjoyed it. Also the tacos are huge. I was stuffed after two tacos. The queso was very thick but had a good taste. Place is bright and big. It was rainy so my shoes were wet. Gotta say the floors were a bit slippery. So be careful if it's wet out. Our server was nice and food came out quickly. There are signs if you want your server to come or leave you alone. I'd been passing by this fancy looking Mexican restaurant for a few weeks and decided to give it a shot during lunch. The interior design is really interesting and eclectic which I think lends a casual, fun vibe to the space. They have an communication system between the waiters and the customers to where they'll either continue to check on you or let you be depending on which sign you choose. I found this interesting and potentially useful but I got so carried away with my food that I forgot to use it! The waiter recommended the birria tacos, and I hadn't had good luck with birria lately but they convinced me it would be worth it and they were SO correct! Had a late lunch here with my husband and we were both very pleased with our first visit. My husband had the Plain Jane taco and I had the Dirty Fajita taco. The waitress told us they were large and they were. One each was plenty for us. Service was quick and pleasant. Tacos were excellent. We don't drink at lunch, so can't speak for the liquor side of the menu. Bill before tip was just over $20. A good deal for lunch and less than we'd pay for fast food. Ambiance was quirky and fun.
