Our favorite place for Mexican food in Holland, Ohio area is this wonderful restaurant on Airport Highway. A large colorfully decorated, and welcoming venue with a large bar and expansive dining room it's my choice in our area. An excellent menu of a wide variety of dishes is on offer . Our favorites are two of their unique appetizers. We had the Mexican fries, a large platter of hot fries with queso, tomato, onions and chorizo.. do yummy! We also had the new appetizer the Cinco loaded dip.., very tasty. Give them a try , you won't be disappointed! read more

The food is amazing, the queso tastes like gold and it all comes out very fast. It gets packed pretty quick, but the drinks keep coming. Great Mexican spit for good food and fast. read more

This restaurant is great! I love the salsa. The birria burrito is delicious. The staff is friendly and the interior is nice. I definitely frequent this restaurant. Their margaritas are great! read more

We had great food but we were sadly dissatisfied with the environment. We brought our children here for dinner only to have people at the table next to us completely inappropriately dressed in a FUCK TRUMP sweatshirt and hat. I do not care about your politics whatsoever but I do care about vulgar language in front of my children. If you want to protest, good for you but do you really need to do at dinner with children around? Maybe the leadership at the restaurant could have requested removal of the garments. read more

Great food, fast service, authentic cuisine, clean restaurant, large menu selection, perfect portion sizes

Food was great and the drinks were good. My concern is this price for cash or using your card. I paid with cash, my change should have been 9.44 and I was only given 9.00 back. When I attempted to get our server back to the table he ignored us since we had cashed out. You just can't take my money. This business of not giving change back is ridiculous. Not happy I paid cash so I could pay for what the actual bill was. read more

Ordered take out. 3 meals plus guacamole and queso. They gave a very small bag of chips with salsa , not nearly enough for 3 people and the guac and queso. One of the orders was with no tomatoes, which they repeated and it was on the ticket, but they put tomatoes on it. I had the #37 El Paso Special. The beef quesadilla was pulled beef and extremely tough and chewy. The chicken quesadilla was good. The rice had peas and green beans on it. The other two meals were both delicious: nachos had lots of toppings (once the tomatoes were pulled off) Camerones Gratinadas were. As Leo delicious. Food was ready quickly and take-out server was friendly. I'm giving 3 stars based on the others' meals. read more

Food was excellent but it was the worst margaritas I've ever had! I ordered and paid for 1 with Patron Silver and that is not what I received. Not sure what I got but it had the aged oak barrel taste of a gold Tequila. They wouldn't remake it nor remove it from my bill even though I drank only 2 small sips. I had very reasonably priced Taquito lunch special that was perfection. And xango was to die for delicious! read more

I love the decor, I love the music, the food is great, but the drinks are overpriced and weak. Also many of the staff don't speak English very well. I hope the owner see's this and makes some changes, this place does have potential, but they need to be more generous on the drinks! read more

A weekly tradition in my house. We love to go here almost every Saturday to get dinner. Our servers are always nice and attentive. There was a live performer a while ago that we didn't care for very much because she was so loud, but we haven't seen her there which was the only issue we ever had. Food tastes amazing, great service. Couldn't ask for anything more. read more

It's an average Mexican restaurant. The sever ice was good and the food & drinks were serviceable. Lacked some flavor and was nothing to really write home about. It was a good place for a larger group and I would go back if I was passing by. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here as I think there are better options in the area. read more

Food is sent through a conveyor belt. Found a heart ventricle in my beef. There's only one server for the whole place. We had to go to the front seat for silverware. Always dirty and sticky. Would not recommend. read more

the food is always great and consistent. our server was very good at maintaining wonderful service. The atmosphere is always great.

They ignore you and sometimes you literally have to get up and ask for service if you sit at the bar. Refills are slow and just not a welcoming environment overall. Food and drinks were ok but the service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Waiter was great but from the time we sat down until we got our food it took an hour! True it was a lot of people, it was loud, a lady was singing live & she was not that good but an hour for fries, a burger, carnitas tacos and a couple of drinks???? And the food wasn't even hot! Ugh! read more

Picked up food instead of eating in due to the coronavirus restrictions. The food was packaged very well for take-out. We ordered steak tacos, nacho supreme and tostados. All were excellent. The steak was tender and flavorful. The shells were soft and just the right bit of chew. Nachos were packed with chicken and beef. The cheese sauce was excellent. Tons of chips and additional toppings. Tostado was packed with meat and toppings. Food was excellent. Beautiful interior to the store. Manager was extremely nice. Would love to go back when it's possible to eat at the restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area as an excellent restaurant. read more

Food was fair. Servers were preoccupied with their phones. Meal time was around 2:00 PM. There were probably a total of 8 customers including our table. For me the ambiance scored a 4 out of 10. It seemed like there was plenty staff to handle the amount of guests. Hopefully they can review this & make changes that would make the customers want to return. No more to add. read more

I decided to visit Cinco de Mayo upon a friend's recommendation of the extremely bright colored restaurant along Airport Highway. Upon entering, I was greeted with a variety of exotic colors, a grandiose dining area with tall ceiling, and a not so busy hour for them. The service was prompt, and was willing to speak both Spanish and English. Seeing how I speak those two, among others, I find it to be a positive. There is free WiFi that I didn't even have to go their ugh the hassle of signing in and configuring. No pokestops at the restaurant, but there were a few Pokémon that appeared due to the proximity of a Kroger and Taco Bell. The waitress or wait or come by to take your drinks, and also give you your complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was great, and you get one free chips refill. The food is very large portions for the most part. It takes a while to get to you, but it has a great presentation, and many plates come to you sizzling and searing. I ordered the Milanesa (because being part Peruvian, it is a house favorite), but we disappointed for it being not the best meats. The milanesa was mostly fat (which I hate), and was tough to cut, barely having any beef at all. Ribeye is not one of my favorite meats, and that is what it turned out to be. My fellow dining members ordered the Hawaiian pineapple fajitas and the pork chop. I don't know about the latter, but the pineapple fajita was beautiful and came with our choice of beef, shrimp, chicken, or mix inside. All the dishes come with salad, rice, and refried beans (cheese on top optional). As always per Mexican restaurants, the rice and beans are extremely small portions. The highlight was most certainly the street tacos, with cilantro, onion, lime, and carnitas! It comes with three and a little dip of refried beans. I will be ordering two of those next time. I'm addition, I can see how the place is very successful and great for alcoholic drinks and tacos alone. Great atmosphere, and decent view for Ohio... (Airport highway haha), and one of the largest liquor selections I've seen. The restaurant also has two stories, with the bottom reserved for parties and events. I went around 15:00 (3pm),and it was empty, but I pass by sometimes from night time shopping and see is packed. So if you want to avoid the crowd, go earlier, but if you want the party and electric vibe, nighttime seems to be a safer bet. Not the best Mexican cuisine, but also far from the worst. I can see myself coming back, but for tacos and drinks. read more

Toledo needs to produce some more good restaurants... Cinco de Mayo is decent, for toledo taste. PROs: tons of food choices to pick from, cute restaurants, decorative space, speedy service. Shrimp burrito is great! CONs: I was told specifically that my shrimp enchilada had no onions and peppers and guess what? it was ALL onions! the waitress looked at my like crazy when i said to take out my onions while ordering. Overall: this is a mediocre restaurant. If i lived in Toledo, i'd be coming here quite often. But since i've been to many other restaurants, i'm just okay with this restaurant. read more

Our family loves this place very much! We visit every Friday night! Omaira is wonderful about seating us right away. Fun atmosphere with live music on Friday nights and wonderful food. We especially love the carnitas. The frozen margarita is fabulous! We have become regulars because we feel like a party of the Cinco de Mayo family. My daughter just turned 15 and they made her feel very special with a pink orchid plant, candy bouquet and a pie in the face with a Mexican sombrero and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to her. This is a very special place, we love it! read more

There's nothing I like more than good Mexican food and a margarita after a long weekend. When a friend suggested the lot of us (15 in total) come here for dinner, before our 10 hours drive, I was a little hesitant based on the decor. I thought it would be a cheesy place with mediocre, overpriced food. I'm happy to say I was mistaken, because the food was very reasonable, in huge portions, and quite good. I had a seafood fajita dish, and they didn't scrimp on the scallops and shrimp. The steak fajita quesadilla next to me, and the enchiladas across from me looked equally as delicious. The food came out quickly and the servers were attentive without being overbearing. The sangria was by far the best drink at the table, though my regular margarita was nothing to scoff at. They were large and very good - and some of the guys at the table got 32 oz beers. We had a laugh at some of the designs om the chairs, but overall everything was reasonable: prices, quality, and service. If, on the off chance, you're in Ohio and are looking for Mexican, this isn't a bad option. read more

First time here and it was great! The outside from the street looked like a fun place...the inside followed suit. Fun atmosphere! The chips were a bit disappointing (not fresh) but, the salsa was pretty good. We had the seafood molcajete and it was awesome!! Very flavorful seafood and sauce mmmm. The chile rellano wasn't the best but my girlfriend liked it..so, maybe it was just my tastebuds. Margarita was ok, not the worst we ever had. read more

We went here Monday for $1.50 tacos and they were smacking. The salsa with the chips had that flavor too. We haven't been here in over 15 years but we'llll definitely be returning. They've got some things in the menu we absolutely must try to see if they are as good as the tacos were. I'll keep you all posted. read more

My wife has family in the Toledo area and we travel here every two years for a family reunion. We have been in the area many many times but had not tried this place, mainly because my wife thinks you cannot get good Mexican food in the north. We managed to convince her to try this place on this last trip. The decor on the inside and out is quite festive. One of the key things at a Mexican restaurant is the chips and salsa. The chips tasted very fresh. The salsa initially I found to be quite lacking. However it did tend to grow on me. One bad thing is if you want more chips and salsa, there is a charge. I asked our server Victor what was good. His response was "everything" which isn't really helpful and most of the time isn't truthful. The menu had a lot of options from the normal fare to street tacos. I ordered the Guadalajara special which included one tamale, two chicken and beef taquitos mexicano, nacho chips with beans, rice, and topped with melted Mexican cheese, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes. Also on the chips were chicken and beef which wasn't mentioned on the menu. It was a lot of food for $9.99. The tamale was huge but was mostly dough and hardly any meat. When you did get meat it tasted pretty good. The taquitos looked flat and a little over done but still tasted good. I thought the rice and beans were pretty good too. My wife ordered the steak fajitas. She gets that at almost every Mexican restaurant we go to so she is kind of an expert. She said that the meat wasn't very flavorful and was a little chewy. My older son go the El Paso special which included one chicken quesadilla and one beef quesadilla served with rice, guacamole salad, sour cream and pico de gallo for $8.99. He didn't really say if he liked it or not but it disappeared very quickly. My two younger kids got Little Amigos tacos with rice and beans for $4.50 each which is a pretty good price. They didn't have any complaints. In conclusion, I think we would visit this restaurant again when we are back in the area. You get a lot of food for the price. read more

I took some of my employees to a Christmas Dinner here and will never return. Each of us had never been, and wanted to try. We waited at the host stand for a few minutes while a couple servers rolled silverware in a side room. Finally, a woman came out. It was 9:15. She informed me that they close at 10. I know you close at 10. That's why you stay open until 10. If 915 is a problem, close at 915. She then told the 5 of us that we could only sit at the bar. Sitting at the bar for a Christmas Dinner was difficult. We could not conversation at all. Upon seating, the bartender informed us that we needed to get our order in quickly. But she did not leave us menus. Getting water and beer refills did not happen. We had to ask for chips and salsa. The food was below par, as it had all come out at different times. My Molcajete did not even get the cheese melted on top. I didn't say anything while there, but so found it criminal to charge me 81 dollars for that type of food and service. Stay away from this place. read more

Walking in I thought if they wanted me to think I was in Mexico, they did a pretty good job. The exterior should have been a dead give away when it came to the atmosphere and the interior did nothing but reinforce their vision. Not sure I would want one of these in the homogonized suburbs as it stands out, but I wouldn't mind the food. Not sure why I had to wait five minutes with a hostess to get seated at the bar other than policies are policy. Looking around the place, it is very unique from the tables and chairs to everything they have hanging on the walls. This place would definitely fit in at Disney World or Cedar Point. The dining room and bar area were clean and the tables were quickly bussed. I ordered the Huevos con Chorizo and if you asked me what that means I could only tell you Mexican brunch or breakfast. The eggs were well cooked and the sausage was tasty with a decent amount of kick. It came with rice and beans, but I would have really like some of the onions and peppers they use with their steak fajitas. Overall when it comes to the food I have had better and unfortunately I have had much worse. As far as their dinner menu, they are moderately priced and it should be noted that they have value priced lunch special that definitely has a lot to offer. Looking at it all together there were a lot of things I would like to try if this was one of my regular stops and I lived in Toledo. Ordering a special I felt I got my money's worth. I think this place would be good for families and large groups. Would have been nice to try some of their drinks but work is work. The service at the bar was acceptable and the kitchen worked fast. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Toledo area that is a fan of Mexican food and anyone staying in the hotels near the airport as a change of pace. read more

Good food, good portions, cold beer. We really enjoyed our Saturday night visit. It was busy enough to be fun, but not packed. I had the chicken street tacos. Loved the soft corn tortillas and green avocado based sauce that they came with (but avoided the super hot dark red sauce, which I referred to as a 'bucket of fire'). My friend had the fajita quesadilla and loved it. She smothered it with the 'bucket of fire' sauce and enjoyed it quite a bit. So, if you like spicy... We both had drinks. My beer was nice and cold. Her white sangria was gone in 15 minutes, so it must have been good. I'm so tired of bland Mexican food in Toledo. This place was good and we will be back! read more

Food is amazing but the service sucks. There drinks are pretty strong. Be sure to have a designated driver if you have one.

the portions are always generous for the price. Every time I've been service has always been very prompt. I was very impressed the first time I came in to Cinco De Mayo for dinner. We were served and helped as soon as we took a seat. No waiting. The margaritas are really good, and pretty potent. The food was served really fast and our orders were correct and warm. So much food. Their rice was a real highlight for me. Soft and flavorful. It's right down the road for me, so i plan to be a regular. Our waters were always kept full. They had entertainment on a Friday night that i had come as well. read more

We've been to this place three times, which is three more than I wish we'd have been. The food is truly lousy.
