    Taquito lunch special
    Sinnamon S.

Food was excellent but it was the worst margaritas I've ever had! I ordered and paid for 1 with Patron Silver and that is not what I received. Not sure what I got but it had the aged oak barrel taste of a gold Tequila. They wouldn't remake it nor remove it from my bill even though I drank only 2 small sips. I had very reasonably priced Taquito lunch special that was perfection. And xango was to die for delicious!

    El Paso special

Ordered take out. 3 meals plus guacamole and queso. They gave a very small bag of chips with salsa , not nearly enough for 3 people and the guac and queso. One of the orders was with no tomatoes, which they repeated and it was on the ticket, but they put tomatoes on it. I had the #37 El Paso Special. The beef quesadilla was pulled beef and extremely tough and chewy. The chicken quesadilla was good. The rice had peas and green beans on it. The other two meals were both delicious: nachos had lots of toppings (once the tomatoes were pulled off) Camerones Gratinadas were. As Leo delicious. Food was ready quickly and take-out server was friendly. I'm giving 3 stars based on the others' meals.

Very extravagant vibe, as if you walked into a carnival. It's usually fuller than this though.

I decided to visit Cinco de Mayo upon a friend's recommendation of the extremely bright colored restaurant along Airport Highway. Upon entering, I was greeted with a variety of exotic colors, a grandiose dining area with tall ceiling, and a not so busy hour for them. The service was prompt, and was willing to speak both Spanish and English. Seeing how I speak those two, among others, I find it to be a positive. There is free WiFi that I didn't even have to go their ugh the hassle of signing in and configuring. No pokestops at the restaurant, but there were a few Pokémon that appeared due to the proximity of a Kroger and Taco Bell. The waitress or wait or come by to take your drinks, and also give you your complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was great, and you get one free chips refill. The food is very large portions for the most part. It takes a while to get to you, but it has a great presentation, and many plates come to you sizzling and searing. I ordered the Milanesa (because being part Peruvian, it is a house favorite), but we disappointed for it being not the best meats. The milanesa was mostly fat (which I hate), and was tough to cut, barely having any beef at all. Ribeye is not one of my favorite meats, and that is what it turned out to be. My fellow dining members ordered the Hawaiian pineapple fajitas and the pork chop. I don't know about the latter, but the pineapple fajita was beautiful and came with our choice of beef, shrimp, chicken, or mix inside. All the dishes come with salad, rice, and refried beans (cheese on top optional). As always per Mexican restaurants, the rice and beans are extremely small portions. The highlight was most certainly the street tacos, with cilantro, onion, lime, and carnitas! It comes with three and a little dip of refried beans. I will be ordering two of those next time. I'm addition, I can see how the place is very successful and great for alcoholic drinks and tacos alone. Great atmosphere, and decent view for Ohio... (Airport highway haha), and one of the largest liquor selections I've seen. The restaurant also has two stories, with the bottom reserved for parties and events. I went around 15:00 (3pm),and it was empty, but I pass by sometimes from night time shopping and see is packed. So if you want to avoid the crowd, go earlier, but if you want the party and electric vibe, nighttime seems to be a safer bet. Not the best Mexican cuisine, but also far from the worst. I can see myself coming back, but for tacos and drinks.

Fajitas steak shrimp & chicken for 16.00!! Bomb!

Had a strawberry margarita that the bartender went around the rear of the bar to make. Weird but it tasted pretty good. The bartenders/servers were all friendly but not especially helpful. Just kept saying everything is good. Everything is good. Went basic n got small queso and a chicken quesadilla. My girl got a fajita, tamale, n rice n beans. Pretty good chips for the queso. Quesadilla was ok. My girl raved over the tamales n she even ordered a few to go. So ordered another round while we wait. Now this margarita tasted like straight margarita mix. Yuck. I was straight sober after 2. Later that evening my girl texts me she been on the toilet all evening. Change of shift comes and the bartenders mention happy hr. No mention of this when we arrived or anything. I didn't see anything on the menu about it or their website. I didn't order anything else at that point. New bartender that comes in around 3, not so friendly and puts reserved signs at the bar to save seats for her girls. Never seen this at a Mexican restaurant before but whatever. She seemed to go out of her way to NOT be friendly. Counted as a one off til I went back a few more times. Same bartender complaining about folks coming in an hour before closing, still unfriendly. Still for me, the food is just eh. Maybe its just the chicken that's not great because my man came n enjoyed some quesabirria tacos while I picked at a chicken taco. Don't recommend the margarita unless u pay extra for freshly made or better yet wait for Fronteras Mexican restaurant to open back up. I like friendly bartenders n good chicken. Average here.

All those years I never came here. It is kinda out of the way , but not that far out. I met an old friend, ( most of my friends are old) from high school. We keep in contact from time to time. We sat in the bar area which is self serve, no wait staff to wait in you. You go to the bar and order what you like. They do have the standard complementary chips and salsa as most Mexican restaurants do. They give you two tubs of salsa. X is the hot one which I liked the best. They do have specials every day at ridiculous low prices. I did not order any of the specials, too much food for me. I did have my fair share of chips and salsa though. I ordered two chicken tacos. They were good , meaning not the best I ever had , but I would come back here and have a dinner sometime in the future. The Margaritas here, regional famous. Small but very good , only $3.50 a glass. You can get other drinks and specials at the bar also. I had a few margaritas and yes . So here is what I think. I would come back. That pretty much sums it up. I do have to say the staff is friendly, the ones that I came in contact with. Quick service also. Food was hot when delivered. The place is deceiving, it has a lot of area. Parking , no problem. You could have a rock concert in the parking lot it is so huge. Give Ventura's a try for lunch. I think you would like it. Oh yes, they have been around for a long long time. The building and interior has a definite personality of its own.

The ambiance is typical Mexican. Our server was very attentive and helpful with questions; also very accommodating with separate checks. Everyone seemed pleased with their food. I ordered a Taco Salad with grilled chicken with a side of guacamole salad. The chicken in the salad was very tasty and flavorful. It came with various peppers and onions that I put to the side of my plate but others might love those sides. The guacamole was overpriced for a tiny side container and nothing to rave about. Salsa was very tasty. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend! Picture of my Grilled Chicken Taco Salad posted below.

Anyway, this is a place for people who enjoy highly flavored and spicy food. Seriously, ask them to go easy on the jalapenos if you aren't up for spicy. I ordered everything as is for my first visit for takeout and enjoyed it but it was on the edge of too spicy for me, (chicken grande burrito) without actually crossing the line.Very much crossed the line with the shrimp tacos, imo. I ordered the following: Menudo Soup (made from cow's stomach); Shrimp Tacos and a Chicken Burrito Grande. The estimated prep time was 15 minutes and the food was ready on time. It's a cute, small restaurant that is very clean. While you could choose to dine in, I didn't see anyone eating there and it appears that most of their business is carryout. Upon arriving home, I found that the Menudo Soup had spilled inside the plastic bag. Not too big a deal. The other entrees were packed in styrofoam containers. The burrito was wrapped in paper and foil. My mom had the Menudo Soup and said it was good. She had one of the three shrimp tacos and said it was okay but that she wouldn't crave them. The avocado slices looked very fresh. My mom loves spicy food but she commented that the soup and tacos were very spicy. As for my chicken burrito, it was unexpectedly spicy in a mostly good way. The burrito was stuffed with everything inside - guacamole, rice, chicken, refried beans (very little), cheese and jalapeno peppers. It was a delicious combo but I would have preferred the individual ingredients to be separate. The biggest problem, however, was that the foil wrap made it difficult to cut into the burrito without also cutting into the foil. I think it's more of a "me" issue that might not bother anyone else. Overall, I would order from this restaurant again. The quality is definitely way above Taco Bell, but it's not quite fast food even though it's next to a Subway. Also, I asked if their refried beans were made with lard and I was assured they were vegetarian. If I hadn't seen so many positive reviews on Yelp, I wouldn't have known to check out this spot, but would encourage you to try it too for high quality, authentic Mexican cuisine! EDIT/UPDATE: I tried one of the shrimp tacos that my mom left in the fridge. OMG, it was super spicy to the point of giving me hiccups. Plus, the spiciness seemed to come from a creamy cheese sauce added to the shrimp tacos after they were cooked. I can understand why my mom wouldn't crave them and I would never order them myself. Based on your personal preference for spiciness, let this give you an idea of the level of spiciness that could be added to your food unless you request your dish to be less spicy. Recommend with caveat re spiciness.

But in general, like his Perrysburg location, and his place downtown (Toledo), this is an excellent restaurant. Is the food authentic? Probably not, but personally, I couldn't care less. Tex-Mex and Toledo-Mex are good enough for me. (Besides, authenticity is overrated. After all, would you want to go to a Brazilian restaurant and find atta laevigata on your plate? Hell no, I'd say). My man Deadpool would LOVE this place, because Carlos makes one of the best chimichangas in the city. Also, what he can do with pineapple and cactus, you need to taste in order to believe. The salsa is made with the same recipe that he uses at his two other establishments, and, it's the best salsa in the city. It's made from scratch two times per day, and you can really taste the freshness. The service, at least at the bar, was perfect; it was fast, friendly, and accurate. The building that houses the restaurant was built in 1840. Suffice it to say, this restaurant is not located in a strip mall. The atmosphere is dynamite.
