    Gyro, so delicious!
    Daniel G.

So I had been reading on yelp for a while now about how great their gyros are. Finally decided to try one today (finals week=no cooking). I just got the original gyro there, waited about 5-10 minutes for them to cook it, and headed home. The gyro was absolutely delicious. For less than 6 bucks you get a pretty decent sized, freshly made gyro that was some of the best I've tried. Seriously it was so good, I'm tempted to go back and get another. Definitely found my new go to place for a quick, hot, and delicious meal.

Wing Station is a great place with an interesting name. I've been in this town for many years now, and have spent more hours across the street at UTMC/UTCOM/MCO/MUO (whatever you want to call it...) than I have at home. I've been to this plaza for Subway, Tasty Thai, and Doc Watsons, but never to Wings Station. I think what threw me off was the fact that it was called 'Wing Station.' Don't get me wrong, I love wings, but just isn't my calling on an everyday study night or a quick meal between rounds. BUT - that isn't their winning item. Wings Station has maybe one of the best gyros in this town. We have a lot of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean places, and they're good too, but the one here just stood out to me. It tastes fresh, it's made in front of you, and if you want a little extra tzatziki sauce - they hook you up! It's a made to order kind of place, and you really can't go wrong. The concept of gyro is pretty basic, but something you can mess up. If there's something you don't like - let them know and they're do it to it. When you first walk into the place it looks like any other restaurant. No major frills or thrills - just another place to be. Some tables are in front of you and the counter is to your left with an extensive menu up on the wall. They have wings (obviously) and some Mediterranean dishes. I've never had the wings, but I've had a few of the gyros and those are their kicker items. I wouldn't get anything else despite the name. If you read my other posts and check-ins, you'll see that I'm a man who enjoys a good smell. If it says anything about their food - you don't really smell wings, you mostly smell the gyro meat. BUT maybe because that is the more pungent smell (?) who knows? If anything, lets keep Toledo alive. Go to the restaurant and give it a try. It's small and local business that keeps Toledo alive, and well, this is the epitome of it. I don't get too hungry when I write reviews, but this one definitely made my stomach grumble. Well, that could just be because I woke up an hour or so ago and have only had coffee and my stomach is telling me something. Whatever. In time.

Terrible food, even worse service. I expected pretty good wings, given that it's in their name, but no where close. Yuck.

Here be the problem. The food is just not good. I had my baby order and he didn't like anything either. Oh i forgot about the pretzel. Got it home and had to use a knife to cut it. Tried to warm it up. Nope. Just got tougher. I seriously thought I was going to break a tooth. Now those wings are nice n saucy and they give you plenty. The chicken isn't seasoned. The french fries are ok and that cornbread is borderline great hence the 2 stars. They have an extensive menu if you want to try something else but if you have wings in the name, the wings have to be good. Not on my return list

Fries and a piece of cornbread were included with the meal. The buffalo wings were whole and breaded tossed in buffalo sauce to perfection. The fries were fresh & still surprisingly hot. The cornbread was sweet & so tasty. I might get addicted. Overall, the meal was so good I went back in person and ordered more. It's more of a carry-out but there are a couple of tables where people can sit. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. I'm thrilled I finally tried this restaurant out. Many wing spots in Toledo are closing, we can't let Wing Depot be one of them! Try them out!

Right away, I appreciated that the music was set at a reasonable level and had a calm vibe, which made it easy to relax and even hear myself think. The ordering process at the register was also much smoother this time. It was quicker, easier to understand, and I felt like my order was actually heard. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback of my visit was the wait time. It took nearly 30 minutes for my food to come out, even though my order was just two sets of wings and fries. Meanwhile, the two friends I came with received their food much sooner, and I noticed multiple DoorDash orders being completed and handed out before in-store customers were served. When the food finally did arrive, it was hot and the flavor was decent--overall, I'd give it about a 6/10. The wings had good seasoning, but nothing that really stood out as exceptional. In short, while I've seen some improvements in both the staff and the food quality since my last visit, this still isn't a place I'd come to regularly. It's not ideal for a quick, easy meal, but if you don't mind waiting 30+ minutes for wings that are just "okay," it might be worth the stop.

Due to the way, their website is set up. I was relatively forced to order online and pay ahead of time as I was unable to find their phone number on their website. I was unable to order two separate types of flavors so I just ordered them plain. My wife picked up the order, then had to turn around and go back, because they forgot our fries. When she got home, we reheated our food briefly, then got our plates and had dinner. The wings were VERY small and with only average flavor. I was really surprised at how small and how little meat the wings had. Now I know why they consider 10 wings a serving for one. The sauces were both ranch, (my wife's choice), which she said was fine. The seasoned fries were good. We also used condiments from home. Overall, this was a disappointing and underwhelming experience. We will not be going back.
