You have to really emphasize you want them well done if you want them even remotely crispy though and they don't put a lot of sauce on them at all so you may want to pay for extra for additional. Their Philly has just enough filling to not get mad at it and tastes pretty good. Combos are the way to go. You can get a gyro/sandwich, steak fries and a soda for about $13. Our last trip we bought a gyro combo, Philly combo, additional Philly and 10 wings. It came to about $40. Not bad. Quick place to grab dinner if like me, you forget to pull the meat out of the freezer.

I just got the original gyro there, waited about 5-10 minutes for them to cook it, and headed home. The gyro was absolutely delicious. Definitely found my new go to place for a quick, hot, and delicious meal.

It used to be a Church's Chicken that went out of business because of poor service. Unfortunately with the new change the service hasn't improved very much. It's primarily a takeout and the drive-thru lines are pretty long. I'm not sure if you can even do call ahead because it seems like everybody sits in the Drive-Thru for at least 20 minutes and for me that's ridiculous. Depending who you get as you come through the drive through some may be friendly and some may have a snarky attitude. The inside is kinda clean but not enough for me to eat in. The food when you get it taste pretty fresh (chicken n fish) but there's nothing special about it. It's just okay fried food. Nothing much to see here.

Looking for Japanese fried chicken (Karaage) in Downtown Toledo at 11:30 pm? THIS is where you'll find it. And it's good. Japanese fried chicken is a lot like American fried chicken, but the batter is a little different. The dipping sauces are similar to American sauces, but, they are a little different. Different is good. You can get said chicken in the form of wings, chunks, 1/2 a bird, or, in a donburi bowl. The menu also has some American (fries, coleslaw) and Asian (kimchi, edamame) sides. Mochi for dessert? You bet. Drinks? Pop, beer, etc, and sake! Service? The service was very friendly, fast, and accurate. Tommy and Sam run the place when the Main Man is elsewhere. They do a great job overseeing the service and the cooking. The atmosphere is similar to Kengo's other places on the same street. Intimate with bare brick walls. Seating is designed more for quick service and higher throughput. There are a few tables, but most people sit at one of two bars. Great music (Beastie boys and Tupac playing overhead, but not too loud). 4 stars for the food, and one more for being open late! 5 stars!

Every flavor popped...the perfectly cooked eggs, crunchy bacon, tender crisp fried green tomatoes, solid, flavorful, hash brown patty and the light buttery croissant. The hollandaise was a thick, creamy and very rich addition that perfectly complimented the sandwich in moderation. After tasting it, I was thrilled that i had asked for it on the side as I felt it would have overwhelmed the savory goodness of that stacked perfection. Each flavor and texture played beautifully with the next. I will definitely return on our next Toledo visit!

Several times I've slowed down, considered pulling in and then just kept driving to Old Orchard. Well today I (we) stopped. The owners were really nice. They warned us there would be a 15 minute wait... fine by us. I'd rather wait for FRESH food than eat food from under a heat lamp any day! Woody's sits at the end of a strip mall in an admittedly not great area of town, but it's good to step outside of your neighborhood (and comfort zone). The food is cheap! For 6.50 we got a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, 3 pieces of dark meat, a drink, and a roll. The potatoes were perfectly whipped into a delicious buttery frenzy and they were smothered with a fantastic peppery gravy. There was a lot of love in the gravy. That gravy alone makes it worth the wait. And then there's the chicken. Frickin' yum! It's crunchy and crispy and well seasoned on the outside with perfectly cooked meat on the inside. When I eat fried chicken I want to hear that "crunch" when I bite into it... and if it doesn't require a napkin to wipe the juices off your face and fingers after that first bite then it's not for me. This is the best comfort food you've never eaten! It's family owned and local. I recommend calling ahead and picking it up at their drive thru window. Bonus... you can get cash for gold right next door while you wait.
