My husband was craving wings and we decided to try them at Georgios. They did not disappoint! They were delicious, crunchy on the outside and yummy with lemon and garlic flavors. I ordered the pesto pasta with grilled chicken. It was creamy and tasted great with Parmesan cheese. I would've added more chicken for leftovers! My husband had the chicken sandwich with green beans which were cooked perfectly with a little crunch. They just brought out their Christmas cocktail menu and I had the coconut Christmas margarita. Went here for there outstanding burger. Service was absolutely horrible. Waitress never came back to keep my beverages filled and how the food was till after I was done. I asked for medium cook on meat and was medium rare and still had a little blood dripping when I handled my burger. Definitely will not be back. The only thing that was good. Was the Mac and cheese. Better than what the reviews lead me to believe! Probably depends on the menu item you get, but the beef kabobs were fantastic. I asked for medium rare and got more medium, but they were juicy and tender and the flavor was great! The real standout is the flippin' cheese risotto, tho... You can order a side of it all on its own and boy howdy do I recommend doing so if your dish doesn't already come with a side! SO good. I'd come back just for that, it was so good. The brussel sprouts were also delicious. Well cooked and flavor with lemon that was not at all overwhelming. Pickled onions on top. Would order these again too! We've now been here several times, bringing new guests with us as well. We were brought here because we had a foodie card ($10 off). We loved it and have been bringing friends and family to try it out because we enjoyed it so much. The first time we were there we asked if the veggie burger was vegan and was told it was. We have several vegan family members that's why we asked. We then came with our family with two vegans. They also called before hand to make sure it was vegan and was told it was! Well imagine the surprise when we get there and are told none of the bread they carry is vegan. Wouldn't that make the veggie burger not vegan?? Our family members had to eat it on pita bread because that's all they have. One of the vegan ones had mayo which was wiped off the pita bread so they couldn't even eat the pita bread. Such a disregard for food allergy is pathetic. Then this last time we came with friends because they also have the foodie cards so they wanted to use theirs. They informed us they no longer take the foodie cards...the foodie card brought us in for the first time and we probably brought 15 people with us to try it after. No one had ever heard or even knew the restaurant was there. But between the small portions, lying about food allergies and now not honoring coupons we will not return. We were fairly happy with our visit to this establishment. The location on Monroe St. in the Promenade Shops is quite convenient. The storefront is easy to spot at the elbow of the plaza. The facility features a bar in one half and a dining room in the other. We sat on the dining room side. Our server Lexi attended to us right away and did a great job during our entire visit. The menu featured a lot of familiar choices, including salads, sandwiches and entrees. I chose the Pastrami Cristo sandwich. The pastrami was terrific and the broccoli side was very nicely done. My wife had the chicken tenders and fries to share with our grandson. She was also quite happy with her choice. We had club soda to drink, for which they did not charge. With food, tax and a tip, our bill was $31. At $15.50 per person as well as feeding a 20-month old, I cannot complain about the value. We will definitely look forward to our next visit. read more

We came here for Valentine's day and we were very disappointed. There was a set menu and we had no idea it was a limited menu but that was $50 a person. Walking in and expecting something MUCH more fancy due to the Georgios name, I was pleasantly surprised by the casual atmosphere and outgoing staff greeting us at the door. From the decor, you'd never guess you were in a super dated strip mall in Sylvania, but from the demographics of the patrons, it was pretty clear where we were. For a Friday night at 7pm, we expected the restaurant to be much busier, and were pleased with the ability to be quickly seated and have our food delivered to the table with little to no wait by our wonderfully friendly server. I will admit, I don't usually pay a ton of attention to the prices when I am not eating at nice restaurants, especially when I'm dining in Toledo, because the food in NW Ohio is usually on the ultra affordable side of the spectrum. That and the fact that Georgios Grill's focus is on the pizza being made in the old 5th Street Pub's (previous tenant) pizza oven, oddly still showing the custom "STREET" name tiled into the front, I was even less focused on the prices. My side of the table ordered a chicken kabob, a steak, one appetizer, two cocktails and a club soda. And I mention the club soda here, because unlike any other restaurant in Toledo, Georgios Grill charges for their club soda. And I only noticed that after getting our receipt and realizing with a tip our dinner was almost $100. $100 is not outrageous if say, my steak came with more than one side. And don't get me wrong, it was cooked to absolute perfection, but the green beans sitting next to it were bland, and the up-charged salad wasn't worth the additional $5. My wife's chicken looked dry, served on a limp cold pita, and as I sampled a bite of the "caramelized" onions that came with it, I realized they were merely cooked soft with no flavor or even a hint of browning. The only highlights were my slice of the flatbread our table shared. It was soft and chewy, with gooey cheese on top, and a clear indicator pizza was the correct thing to order, both price and quality wise. The Halloumi cheese app, was browned just a little too much and served extra dry side with super under ripe avocado. Will I ever come back? No. There is MUCH better in town, and while the steak was good, for almost $30 it should have been more than thrown on a plate. This restaurant suffers from a severe identify crisis. The atmosphere is pub-like and definitely low brow. The food conceptually ranges from elevated bar food, to greek, to steak house, with no rhyme or reason for why, and no point of view coming from the kitchen. The prices make sense for Sylvania, where they have a captive audience of affluent suburbanites, so I don't question the restaurant's motives to exist. Georgios Grill doesn't far fall from the tree. As I mentioned in my review of Georgios Cafe International in Downtown: "I wonder if they'd be able to charge the prices they charge if they were in another location." read more

Wow, loved this place! It was worth driving 35 minutes off 80/90 for. John had the home made dough, hand tossed, wood fired 14" pizza with pepperoni, sausage & mushrooms. We lucked out to stop on $10.00 pizza night & extra toppings were $1 each. I loved my beef tenderloin kabobs accompanied with home made tzatziki sauce, pita, & a yummy side of broccoli that was grilled with butter & olive oil! I never had broccoli like that before. So, Georgio's does not believe they are required to follow the law. This week is NO sales tax week in Ohio. They state they could not change there system. Just ordered the Chicken Marsala to go. We have ordered this in the past without issue. Boy, have things changed. First off, the chicken pieces appear to be smaller. Ok I get it. Food cost. But the worst part is they cooked the hell out of it. They grill the chicken as opposed to sautéing it. My chicken was so dry, it was inedible. I live 2 minutes away and would order more often if the food had not gone downhill. I gave it to my dog. He didn't complain but he will eat anything! read more

Disappointed - Dinner last night included a 10% credit card fee and 7.75% sales tax during the Ohio Tax Holiday. Questioned the sales tax and was told they weren't participating...but I checked with the State and they said he's charging it but not paying it. We were very frequent visitors of Fifth Street, so we thought we would give this new place a try. We were actually really disappointed considering their reputation. The menu seemed pretty limited and not a lot of healthy options. Our appetizer was pretty bland, salad had the worse "stalk" pieces of lettuce and our pizza had no flavor or seasoning at all. I have enjoyed Georgio's food in the past both in person and via curb side pick up. Today, January 5, I tried ordering for pick up and gave up after 5 attempts. Each call had me holding for about 3 minutes during which time I heard them repeat that someone would be with me shortly. After 3 minutes I would get a dial tone. Finally, I became frustrated about their hanging up on me and gave up. I hope they fix this glitch soon. Following multiple calls as mentioned above, my husband suggested we drive to the restaurant and place our order in person. Acting upon his suggestion, we arrived to find the lights out and a sign on the door that said they were closed for vacation from January 1-6. I would like to suggest that in the future during periods of closure, the phone message be changed to inform patrons of the next date they will be open for business. Based on this, I am changing my initial 2 star review to 4 stars as my past experiences have been so positive and this rating could easily go up to 5 stars in the future with improved communication. read more
