Did an online order for a quick late lunch. Had the pick-a-pair - Zingo's style gyro and side greek salad. Vegan chocolate cupcake for dessert. Though he said he wasn't hungry when I ordered, my husband had half the gyro with the pita chips and liked it! (He's not usually a Mediterranean type guy.) My gyro was great. I particularly like "Zingo's style" a very thin grilled wrap instead of a huge pita. The salad must have come out of their garden - it was SO fresh and had lots of creamy crumbles of feta. I ordered a small Greek salad and gyro samwich. No French fries here but the quality of the food served was excellent. Big flaky chucks of feta in a fresh fresh salad all topped with a creamy Greek dressing that was very tasty! Also a spin of the traditional gyro with a thinner pita slightly toasted and presented as a wrap. Really tasty! The meat was tender and not salty. We were out and about running errands, and we were in the Maumee/Perrysburg area. It was dinner time, and like most times, I defer to Yelp! when we are not too sure which local dining establishment to choose. We decided on Mediterranean cuisine as it has quickly become one of our faves. Zingo's was close by, we have never been before, so we decided to give it a shot. This is not a sit down restaurant with table service. You order and pay at the time you place your order - somewhat of a fast food Mediterranean spot. Since this was our first time at Zingo's, we ordered a family style dinner for 2 at $38. This included a choice of salad, 2 entrees, and a side. We went with Greek Salad, chicken tawook, feta chicken, and hummus. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, especially given the price paid and the portion sizes. Maybe we have been spoiled by another Mediterranean restaurant in Holland at the Spring Meadows Shopping Center as their food is crazy good and comparatively inexpensive verses Zingo's. Great spot near waterfront (free parking near park), friendly greeting by staff - indoor and outdoor seating. Nice, spacious and clean. Ordering was easy, pay, take a number, find a table. They bring out to you when ready. Started with sampler, delicious and almost an entire meal by itself (perfect starter) it had a little bit of everything and all of it was good. The main course was the Gyro (Original) Zingo style- I can say without any hesitation, one of the best decisions yet, it was amazing. Grilled and rolled, with a flavor unmatched. My first visit to Zingos Mediterranean in Perrysburg started out great. My salad was very flavorful the chicken was grilled perfect with a wonderful dressing on the side. The staff were also fantastic. Matter of fact I thought I'm going to take home their Feta salsa since I was so impressed with the food atmosphere and staff. I ordered 16 oz to go. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and the place was super busy. We took this as a good sign of the quality of food. You place your order at the counter and then seat yourself; we chose outside, because the inside was packed. They told us it would be a 20 minute wait for the food, and I have to say they were spot on! It was kind of nice because this gave us some time to explore around the park and shops on the street. As for the food we ordered the chicken gyro, original gyro, chicken tawook, and Greek chicken. The chicken gyro was Zingo style which made it a nice little burrito and easier to eat. Although I will say that there may have been too much cucumber sauce that piled to the ends of the wrap. The chicken tawook had good flavor, but could use a little more moisture in it and there was a little leaking out the back since we did the Zingo style. The Greek chicken and original gyro were on soft pita and they were huge. It kind of looked like the same pita they used for the Zingo style except not wrapped. The meat was thickly sliced and it was nice that the pita was so large that the toppings didn't fall out everywhere. The fun surprise was that the sandwiches all came with pita chips. We could have used a dip for them, but the chips themselves were nice and crunchy without having a salt overload. Overall, pretty good food and it made for the perfect roadtrip stop. Where you will be full with the meal, but not feeling gross after eating it. We might have to add it to the road trip rotation stop. read more

While the food is good, this restaurant has no willingness to accommodate a family with special needs in a child. Companies have policies; this is understood. Unfortunately, the team member that we dealt with had absolutely no compassion, understanding or flexibility for a situation. She was resolute in her verbiage and unable to see anything but what was in front of her. As a local restaurant, I had hoped they would accommodate their community members. We will not return to this restaurant and would strongly suggest the management invest time in training their employee about how to communicate in various situations and how to have a safe space for those who are different. read more

When we travel to Midwest cities for business or pleasure I believe our host spoils us with the brightest and the best. Hence the case with Zingo's Mediterranean. I could write two pages on this place. The food is fresh, high quality and...well...prepared flawlessly. The staff are great and the prices are reasonable. I wish they weren't so close to the Maumee River. Just pray for winds from the south/west. The Beehive seasonal salad is very popular and they have a terrific hummus. My cousin Aaron is here from Sarnia. He's never had Kafta so his first plunge was their Kafta Cheeseburger. He is now hooked. Lol! Our friend, Jan, recommends the wraps. Be certain to order them 'Zingo style'! We also discovered you can get 12 Meat or Veggie Grape Leafs (filled with rice and ground beef or chick pea) for $10 and 8oz of the world's greatest Feta Salsa for only $4.50. Wowsers! The 'pick-a-pair' special features a full sandwich or salad plus a side for $9.25. So, I braved the Chicken Watook sandwich with a Tabbouli Salad. Best decision I made all day. The chicken was chargrilled just right and the spices were the perfect compliment. They must put something illegal in their tangy garlic sauce, we couldn't get enough. Zingo's is a local favorite for all those who love Mediterranean food in downtown Perrysburg. You can also check out their location in Toledo if that's better for you. In the summer, we like to go early on Thursday nights and then shop around for the farmer's market happening all around downtown. For the adults, you'd "feta" get the pick-a-pair for only $9.75 if you are looking for the perfect pair of delicious and value. You can choose a full-sized sandwich and a side (like a salad) or a full-sized salad and a side. Our kids love their $6 meal options, especially the mini Zingo-style gyro and hummus! And you wouldn't be a kid if you passed on a fruit smoothie for a $1 more with their kids meal. The vegies and rice were so heavily soaked in fat/oil it made it made the food unpleasant and unhealthy. YUK! So Zingos is a staple of the downtown Perrysburg foodie scene. I'm not sure what's changed over the years but it definitely has changed ever so slightly. The wait staff is always polite and I've never had an order wrong. I will say the food hasn't changed but the quality of the ingredients has and even though it is a small change it was noticeable. Maybe I caught them on one of those weeks where the order is strange and they couldn't get what they ordered so they had to substitute certain items but obviously I'll be going back. When we got in to our hotel, I looked around for a place to eat on yelp and saw this restaurant that was Greek Mediterranean food and decided to give it a try. It had a lot of good reviews so we drove 2 miles from the Hilton to the place, we met by very very responsive young ladies who took my order And had some of the best lentil soup I've ever had red lentil soup and then followed up with a chicken euro and it was delicious moved on to share a baklava with my wife and had a cup of coffee which were unusual flavors and coffee coffee was a little bit coldbut other than that, everything was perfect and the young ladies that waited on us were responsive and very nice. This is our first visit to Zingo's, trying it out for lunch! I ordered the beehive salad that comes with grilled chicken, Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, dried cherries, celery, and red onions. It has a honey vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious! Everything I like in a salad, a little bit of sweet, crunch, and savory. My daughter had the chicken gyro, Zingo Style which is in a wrap instead of pita. She really liked the wrap, it was thin and crispy. I also ordered iced green tea sweetened but I wasn't a fan. The tea was a bit bitter. I like the atmosphere, it's casual and we sat in a cute booth made of wicker. Super friendly employees and clean restrooms. Though we ordered six or seven dishes, it took no more than eight minutes to get or food. The large hummus tasted like my mother's homemade hummus growing up (trust me, that a supreme compliment). The Honeybee Salad, available seasonally, was too sweet for my tastes, but my wife loved it. The red lentil soup was good. I was so excited because I really love middle eastern food so here's what I thought about the food and service: PROs: Great ambience! A great spot for dinner and the menu has a good variety for middle eastern food. CONs: While I loved the service and ambience, I honestly thought the food was just okay and maybe a little pricey. I've had middle eastern food in a lot of local spots and while this place has the best ambience I've seen so far, I can honestly say I've had more delicious gyros.
